Magic: The Gathering Arena Final Fantasy is a video game

Magic: The Gathering Arena is a video game released in 2018 that still gets supported to this day. We are less than a month away from the Final Fantasy set releasing on it. New cards got previewed today and I'm gonna post them now.

file.png - 1904x752, 2.19M

Three Final Fantasy VI cards got previewed. Here they are. The two legendary creatures we got so far from this game are only Kefka and Terra.

file.png - 1060x370, 856.49K

Three Final Fantasy VII cards got previewed. Barret and Zack join Aerith, Cloud, Sephiroth and Tifa as the characters that are confirmed to be represented with a legendary creature in the set.

file.png - 794x370, 664.59K

I'm starting to suspect that Final Fantasy XIV is gonna be the most represented game in this set. As of yesterday, it had the most represented cards with 9 cards (By comparison, in second place was Final Fantasy X and XV, which were at 6 cards each) and today it got another 6. Matoya joins Emet-Selch, Y'shtola, Zenos and Zodiark as the legendary creatures shown so far.

I really don't know jackshit about this game, to be honest. I'm completely clueless if the cards are in any way accurate.

There's still 199 cards left to preview.

file.png - 1590x370, 1.24M

Here are all the other XIV cards shown so far. I was not expecting this game to be the most represented. Guess MMOfags are an important part of the fanbase.

FFXIV.jpg - 3356x2804, 2.48M

That Zack design

SOVL and powerful

I have never played 14 and I never will

w44hx-2023.png - 1128x1437, 382.98K

A couple of off-topic Memeander cards that made me laugh so I'm posting them as a bonus.

file.png - 1278x892, 1.68M

I'm disappointed by how weak Barret and Tifa are desu senpai

Also Memeander but printing one of the most powerful cards in MTG history with a Jenova paint on it is neat.

file.png - 640x893, 777.44K

lol

probably because 14 is the most recent FF that has a positive reception

based

Oh no no no no cloudsissies...

Astrologian's Planisphere will 100% see heavy play in Standard. In fact, it already has a deck it fits right in.

Clearly commander is getting the shit arts because they will just eat up all that slop anyway

Tifa literally sets up a turn 3 kill...

I could tolerate Jotc's kikery for years but the UBshit is the last straw for me.

It's quite probable that XIV is just being heavily favored for spoiler season due to its popularity, and while they have cards for I~V, they are not being spoiled because of the inferior engagement they would generate in comparison.

You were the one to click this thread. Nobody made you do that.

The ones that have a Chocobo as the small symbol next to the card type in the middle of the card (Just below the picture) are Commander cards. They won't be part of the set proper and might not even end up being in Arena.
Still fun to look at them, though.
Rikku a cute

Rikku.png - 640x893, 1.04M

Wow, really? Their target audience for this reference set is people who play the game mostly made up of memberberries that is also the most profitable in the franchise's history? I'm shocked!

Ishgard is a holy city of elvish nobility that's been in a war with dragons for a thousand years, I'm not sure what the sorcery effect has to do with it
Matoya is an old witch that sometimes helps research things
White auracite is a type of rock that pulls in aether like a sponge, usually used to seal in intangible beings
Astrologians are healers that buff other players by playing a card minigame
Sages are healers that focus on damaging enemies to heal allies passively
Circle of Power is meant to be Ley Lines, a black mage spell that makes a circle that buffs your casting massively while you're standing in it. It is notorious for making black mages not move to dodge obvious incoming damage, which is probably what the life loss is meant to represent

god the design they went with for zodiark in endwalker was such a fucking mistake

wouldn't really call 8's Cid an artificer

Magic: the selloutening

he thought.jpg - 540x720, 32.94K

Lots of cute Yuna cards.

Shame all the VII stuff is from Remake, but what can ya do.

my mother name is jenova...the jenova project...is this a coincidence?

when you read the FF7 OG dialogue outloud it sounds so fucking stupid

You have to realize Sephiroth was pretty heavily in denial. The idea that he is an artificially created monster and not human at all was his greatest fear.

Can just steal +1/+1 counters from any creature that has them

Can just steal shield counters from Sanctuary Warden

Can just steal an indestructible counter from the Phyrexian Horrors

What the fuck lol
And it's only gonna get more powerful as more unique counters keep being printed

based
I'm still gonna keep playing MTGA but I'm not gonna spend any gold or gems on this soulless UBslop.

What am i missing with the FF6 commander deck?
It doesn't seem to have any real theme other than having a full graveyard and occasionally bringing something back.

searching for friends. terra puts things in the graveyard and celes pulls them out

Sounds like some heavily involved combo shit. Meanwhile red does it for free.

it is se's main moneybag

Yshtola's ability is really cool but at 6 mana she's unplayable

HAHAHA

why did they have to make the game look so gay? I just want to play my wife and beat people up with trees

i recognize most of these lands but a few seem generic

lands.jpg - 1068x1872, 527.21K

V & XII is strangely lacking in cards
and there's way too much stuff from XIV

Is there a Bahamut card?

Yes

file.png - 672x936, 1.43M

pajeet thread

I'm a bit confused by how saga creatures work
So let's assume you play this on turn 7, it has summoning sickness and it can't attack, so it does the first ability
What happens at turn 10? Does it do its mega flare ability and then immediately get sacrificed before it can even attack? So you only get 2 attacks with it?

WATCH OUT!

Sounds like some heavily involved combo shit

no actually it's just this plus a fetchland

Yes. What's your confusion?

So let's assume you play this on turn 7, it has summoning sickness and it can't attack, so it does the first ability

What happens at turn 10? Does it do its mega flare ability and then immediately get sacrificed before it can even attack? So you only get 2 attacks with it?

Correct. You will have an opportunity for two swipes, three if it gains haste or entered attacking by some means (such as pic related), but as soon as it hits 4 lore counters it explodes.
Summons aren't meant to stick around.

I'm glad some people found enjoyment in online TGC's, but this hobby really died for me when it wasn't high school friends and me just playing for fun, I wish I enjoyed online versions.

Evaluating cards is hard, but there's something that feels Timmyless and undewhelming about a 9 mana creature you can only attack with twice. Let alone the average saga creature you can only attack with once The card's power and toughness almost seem like flavor at that point.

you're not using bahamut as a beatstick anyway with an ability like mega flare

14 is like 5 games, it and 7 should logically get the bulk of cards with 11 and 13 following them, but we know that isn't happening

If he survived to the fourth lore counter, then he's leaving with a nuclear blast that almost certainly kills everybody and wins you the game. It's VERY timmy because Bahamut probably won't survive to do that.

nude terra

the final lore counter is basically supposed to be their actual summon attack, in bahamut's case you want to either ramp up into it and use the resources it grabs you to play as much shit as possible or play it naturally and ramp up its counters (which is the gimmick of the FFX commander deck) to blow it up faster

Neat
Is Tifa green, by the way?

green seymour

green fucking hojo

red white sephiroth

blue green sin

are commander precons usually this weird

If you're playing it for 9 you're probably playing it to proliferate your way into the four lore counter anyway

emet dying card

amaurot card

azem stone card

even a fucking hermes card

I guess its to be expected from the biggest demographic of FF fans nowadays

birds do not cause every creature to sacrifice themselves

Flavor miss!

Pokemon is losing so hard it's not even funny

For me the biggest miss flavor-wise was the chocobos all being the same instead of each featuring some ability and then the gold chocobo having all of them.

no balamb garden card

bros wtf...

Isn't that exactly what the gold chocobo does, though? Whenever a chocobo activates an ability, it activates it twice, the second time is the gold chocobo imitating it.

thats for a black meteion card later
but honestly I wanted more of the non reality-warping stuff like gaius and yotsuyu

Life is almost impossible.

I've never played MtG but I'd like to buy a pack because I like FF. Which pack do I buy?

No.

ishgard isnt legendary

OH DO YOU SEE

unless you want cards from the precons you'd just buy the core set/singles from it. There's not a separate commander set, just 25 cards unique to each based on the game they represent
The renamed reprints are all just recycled art too

Is there a viable way left to play magic if I don't want to grind ladder for hours a day in Arena and I also don't want to play cuckmander

is this AI

Cockatrice

Technically. But not really. They're just double translated cards.

These are your options

Personally, if I wanted to "lightly" dip my toes in just for shits and giggles since I love FF, I'd buy a starter kit that comes with two decks. They're neat, especially if you have a friend to play with. They're balanced against each other.

Then I'd buy a bundle (not a gift bundle). So that's only 75 bucks :^) Alternatively a single play booster so just 27 bucks total instead (A bundle has a bunch of lands, dice, and 10 play boosters inside it). Everything else is too expensive and not worth it.

file.png - 558x235, 15.84K

just play eternal card game instead

campaign

PvE gauntlet mode

multiplayer casual or ranked

draft against AI or other players

monthly draft tournament

incredibly generous f2p model

pinnacle of digital-only CCGs

WHY.jpg - 520x439, 60.47K

With that said, I imagine all this shit has been scalped already, so it's one of those things that are probably just worth buying it if you happen to walk by a store that is lucky enough to still have them.

is that effect supposed to be the joystick spinning limit break or something

You have to have a group of friends that want to play normally, potentially with some house rules.

It's already sold out on pre-orders, you might be screwed. If you literally just want a single pack of cards though, the play booster is the basic one and you should be able to find those without much grief. Given the insane demand WotC might do a heavier printing, if you don't mind waiting and want more cards later.

A single collector booster is worth 40 bucks

nani?

Dead IP collabing with another dead IP. Neat

Tits hidden

Now show the alt art. This DOES have alt art, right?

You have to have a group of friends that want to play normally, potentially with some house rules.

That usually means commander.

No, more like $80. Every shop immediately jumped the collector stuff to double MSRP.

Unfortunately
Cube is the chad's way of playing MTG with friends albeit

some of it has gone down again. I canceled some preorders that have gone down in price since I put the money in

Wait for the main set version

Its a huge game and also they need new blood NOW because the newest expansion was dogshit and pushed lots of people away

I just want to play an actual game by actual rules and try to actually win and not just mindlessly curve out on aggro for 8 hours a day to maximize my ranked gains or circlejerk with silly wholesome chungus 20 card combos where nobody's allowed to interact with one another because removal is anti fun
Limited more or less seems like the only fun way to play that's left

During PAX on Saturday they started revealing a shitload of spoilers, and announced the start of pre-orders. The set releases next month.

this is true. in fact they recently advertised for new scenario writers, and its specifically says you need to have finished the expansion previous to current but not the current

cool setting

dogshit story

same as it ever was

The starter kit contains two simplified babby decks. The bundle is 9 normal packs of cards, a set of all basic lands in both normal and foil, a large d20, and whatever specific rare card from the set the bundle features. Good enough if you're getting it for the novelty of the set.

Did they show any of the special art versions from the collector boosters? I'm halfway expecting it to be all Amano pieces. I know they're doing the gold chocobo art for the 77 serialized Traveling Chocobo cards, but I didn't hear about anything beyond that.

$130 for NINE packs and a D20

What the shit

its an awful deal. just get some boosters. a booster box is the best deal and you'll more than likely make your money back if you resell anything

Damn, that's expensive as fuck.
If you can handle that price, then sure, that's definitely gonna be more than enough, you won't be missing for any more than that, and it also won't be excessive. Basically the full FF MTG experience.

I do think the starter kit is a great way to have the set, so maybe just that, though it's still expensive at 40.

Can't even imagine what the actual insane shit that is highway robbery is priced at. Are gift bundles at 180 bucks?

so far the only card I actually want to put in a deck is vivi. just buying him will be cheaper than getting a single booster probably

Although in saying that I think this set would have been getting planned out before dawntrail released, but still some people at square must have know they had a stinker on their hands

Alright, yeah, doing more research, I'd just buy a starter kit and maybe a play booster or two. Forget the bundle. It's a robbery too. Not worth the price. The lands are nice, but whatever.

The starter kit contains two simplified babby decks

Yeah but they're balanced against each other and they look nice. I think they do their job well as starters and the one product that a tourist would buy. They also look nice and usually have plenty of fanservice and even some unique cards. The cards are mechanically weak but I doubt that matters to someone that only wants to play MTG for the FF cards. I don't see the average MTG tourist during this set being interested in getting hyper competitive standard decks that are only gonna have like 2 FF cards in them.

This one is weird because they want each Memeander deck to have all its cards be in the same color as the commanders (obviously) AND representing the same game.

So, in other words, the FFVI deck is not allowed to have blue or green cards, the FFVII deck is not allowed to have black or blue cards, the FFX deck is not allowed to have black or red cards and the FFXIV deck is not allowed to have green or red cards.

the FFVII deck is not allowed to have black or blue cards

The exact colors that fit Sephiroth, so commander players get this instead.

file.png - 766x1063, 1.23M

Same with 16's

MtG is a dead brand I'm not kidding

They had a prime opportunity to reprint Glimpse the Unthinkable.

REEEEE
GIVE ME MY THREE LINES YOU JEWISH CAT LOLI

image.png - 714x1010, 896.08K

Im genuinely impressed by how flavorful these cards are. Must have had a much longer dev cycle than most sets.

Buy an ad.

I want to proliferate with her, if you catch my drift

Chocobros, we're eating so good

Faris card when?

The reason is that 90% of cards spoiled today are from commander precons which is FF6,7,10 and 14. Wait for the standard set reveal

100% Kino kino kino

i never imagined mog was that big. also, relm is comically small. perfect

How have I not seen a bahamut yet

I mean there's this one

file.jpg - 672x936, 137.64K

We'll also get Gay Bahamut from XVI

Which cannot be played in the FFVII commander precon. Words have meaning.

Into the Nazgul deck you go

My boy Vivi looks so good...

I only played 13 because of this coming out. Big mistake

no "my memories will be part of the sky" quote

niggers
ALL NIGGERS

is this game worth getting into or is it p2w city? keeps popping up and im partial to try it, thoughts?

SOLDIER, First Class

0/1

1/2, technically. But his cuck ability to save other people is pretty first class.

Locke's in

Can I make friends playing card or board games

Eh, I find MTG to be more fun when you can play it with a friend group. It tends to be less sweaty and more of a way to facilitate social interaction.

Depends on if you like drafting and silly wacky formats plus brawl or not. Even if you do, you're gonna want to grind with a red aggro deck to get currency every once in a while.

Where's Gaius

The Buster Sword was what gave him +1/+1. Zack as a First Class SOLDIER is 0/1 without it.

Motherfucker, Red XIII needs to be RGW or I'm not buying anything.

Implying there's not gonna be a buster sword card

no Yu Yevon

Sorry, Tataru is more important

This is so strangely worded.

no Jecht

cmon man he was in Dissidia!

Why you so slow man?

Wait for the main set. He'll have red in his color identity anyway, the FFX precon has no red

Huh that's weird, last week or so my phone has been unable to play webms for some reason but yours works.
Anyway they probably want to be careful about anything too spoilery with her

choose one at random

?????

it'll be an Endsinger card, not the Meteia if we get one

Relm doesn't get her own card

Yeah probably, should avoid any big spoiler that way

You cant control the guy in the game too

Thank god i can play an Al Bhed deck in peace

image-39.png - 587x820, 922.14K

Phoenix Down is counted among FF6

Is this because they weren't called that until FF6 (FF3) in the States? Because that's a nice nod, if that's what they were going for. Also I'm glad they also let it be an undead killer.

You do have three sided dice right?

p4963.jpg - 500x500, 24.42K

They're letting random NPCs have cards now?

lyse.png - 640x893, 205.44K

I thought it was because locke was desperately searchi g for the phoenix treasure.

should've been a 2/2, no text

Gotta fill those packs

guessing the flavor of this one is how she worked to recruit people to the rebellion?

Conrad did that. Lyse just stood there like dead weight.

Astrologian doing Astrologian things

hey, she was in charge for like 1.5 zones

I like lyse unlike the mysogonists on Anon Babble but I struggle to understand why she has those abilities.

can be cast as an instant

MY TURN

thancred.png - 640x893, 242.62K

My boy! Now where is my rat wife?

This card seems very good in commander and, looking through the decklists, I suspect it will be the most expensive card of the bunch a year from now.

where's his card?

Fray.jpg - 613x800, 104.1K

why does Ryne look 30 on that card?

Nice. I don't play Magic because no one who lives around me does and I don't care about online clients. Might still pick up the FFIX set just because I love the characters and game in general.

lighting choice. thancred looks older as well.

not sure if thats supposed to be their initial Eulmore encounter or at some point during the SHB MSQ

For me, its the emporer

image.png - 640x446, 577.93K

i enjoy card games but fucking hate hearthstone and yugayoh so i've been thinking about semi-casually getting into magic to start off with and thought the game might be a decent start.

Just RG

red.jpg - 1079x1537, 157.54K

I'd rather spend the $1000 on a new vr headset than one year of virtual cards

Might still pick up the FFIX set

it's basically one giant set and you gotta hope to get FFIX stuff. some precons have designated IX stuff.

Aussie here. Bundles are usually the best starting point purchase because you get 9 booster packs (used to be 10), sometimes a promo card, and a pack of land cards with the art from the set.
A bundle usually goes for $70 AUD.
However, they are treating Final Fantasy like a specialty set, even though its a fully standard legal set.
This is why the Bundle for FF is $100-110 AUD (preorders are now $129 yikes).
My advice is maybe pay for 2-3 booster packs for $12 AUD each and a starter kit.
You can buy singles off ebay or mtgmate for cheap.

emet-selch looks fun for some esper bullshit. fill up your yard, use that cheap white low cmc reanimation to get emet out, etc. pretty sure we've got those hasty landfall reanimators right? it'll all be fine if we survive the mice

Actually I guess they worked backwards, she's a monk and this is how we design monks recently, designing crossover cards for standard instead of respecting the crossover
She does have that one bit where she gets buffed by papalymo so that explains the prowess but the cost reduction is baffling

is there any other ff9 cards? surely its not just vivi, kuja and alternate art of an existing card zidane??

Theres artwork released for the Youre Not Alone scene. What the card is yet to be revealed

Steiner, Beatrix, and I think a few more were in that same spanish leak

I hope they do multiple omegas and gilgameshes

Cheers mate. I'll probably just get some boosters. Should I preorder those? When will they be in shops? I'd rather walk in ang buy one physically.
What shops would stock them other than EB Scams?

Clearly it's set in the future

all the different colored chocobo play the same

What's the fucking point? We were robbed of a proper Chocobo Deck by their need to add something for collectors (make sure you get the GOLDEN CHOCOBO!).

Pretty sure there are actual chatbox generated cards floating around for years though

then Ryne's hair should be red

Its fun but it just never quite gets as wild as MTG can.

Depends on the format. It runs the whole range from "$20 starter deck" to "more expensive than Warhammer" to "Decks that cost the same as a low-end car".

try look for a local game store, a LGS. I'd try find a "Good Games" store near you.
The prerelease Friday I think June 6th is when youll be able to buy things before the release date all that week.
You should be able to just buy a booster pack or two and a starter kit. i doubt those are sold out whoever your local game shop is.

Al Bhed

I'm looking forward to the reveal of the "Wakka, Genocidal Crusader" card.

I said LGS like Good Games because they will sell a week early during the prerelease period.
Stores like EB Games won't sell until the release date which is June 13th.

Wakka gains +X/+0 where X is your opponents devotion to black

Dagger fine as hell here DAMN

man thats unfortunate oh well.

TABLETOP THREAD

I wonder when we'll reach a sufficient critical mass of Magic cards for AI to have enough sample data to print a vaguely coherent set. You just fucking know someone at Wizards is prototyping this.

Oh, I assumed you were talking Arena when I posted Yeah, the real game is P2W.

The main set version is her in the background of casting the Blizzard / Blizzara / Blizzaga spell...and no cleavage there, either.

You can have plenty of fun at the lower end mang. Playing some games with jank decks at your local game store is how the overwhelming majority of the MTG playerbase experiences it. Price only starts going batshit once you get into Modern format (to say nothing of Legacy and Vintage).

I miss liking MtG.

If a creature with "Al Bhed" would be put into the graveyard, exile it instead. Create X "Ashes" tokens, where X is the mana value of the "Al Bhed" card

all these xiv cards

the only Nanamo so far is a card with all three city leaders in it

No Rinoa special art yet

No fucking Galuf yet

No Quetzalcoatl yet

That said, I have no intention of getting more than a couple packs for fun, but there is already a small list of cards I want to buy on their own.

Call me when Jack’s in

I dont play magic but why no job mastery mechanic for bartz...

because job effects are on weapons

You will Proliferate.

They blew their load on another round of "Class" cards (which could easily double as Job Cards) on the furry set last year, please understand.

Can you use this to make summons stick around for longer?

I can't really imagine O'aka's voice coming from that face. Seems like they made some people way too babyfaced.

That's right

oh these are neat

Yeah, but you'd have to do it so it repeats its 2nd or 1st skill.

You can remove a lore counter from it after it puts it's final chapter ability on the stack to keep it from dying, if you want to get fancy.

file.png - 672x936, 910.63K

This shit is so gay.

Close. He really Hates Machina.

Correct. But it makes money. More money than Wizards has made in a long time.

alisaie's butt isn't center frame

soulless

Never ever as this set is mainline games only which also means no FFT stuff

He's a professional blitzball player. He can trample over everyone.

I'll give them this one, you can knock people down with a blitzball to the head.

Alphinaud and Red Alphinaud

Enough to defeat whats in his way and get to the goal.
youtu.be/C6RQ4uj1J5o

Yeah, but that only explains Reach.
Unless Trample is an Attack Reels reference.

alisae isnt red

uhhhhh

Do you think they'll add spinoff Final Fantasy characters in Magic: The Gathering x Final Fantasy like Kaze, Benjamin, Aki Ross, and Tyro?

And it's only gonna get more powerful as more unique counters keep being printed

Oh shit that is busted.

no

Benjamin

I fucking wish. I don't even know what he'd do since he's about as Jack of All Trades as you get, I just like the guy.

Based RikkGOD

If there was ever a character that didn't deserve a card it was this one.

No, you can respond to the final chapter trigger being on the stack.
mtg.fandom.com/wiki/Saga

714.4. If the number of lore counters on a Saga permanent is greater than or equal to its final chapter number, and it isn’t the source of a chapter ability that has triggered but not yet left the stack, that Saga’s controller sacrifices it. This state-based action doesn’t use the stack.

and it isn’t the source of a chapter ability that has triggered but not yet left the stack

So long as you knock the lore counter off before the final chapter trigger resolves, you keep the Saga.

FF11 cards? hello?

Magic is a game for neckbeards just like Anime is for trannies

Might actually be a reference to greased lightning, honestly.

based building him day one

FF8 bros, how we feeling about our boy?

Target player

Are they planning to bring archenemy back?

theyre from a commander precon

none of the characters got nig'd

Impressive. I guess this will be their most successful set?

Missing out on one of the best stories in gaming.

should have been colourless

Should they really be encouraging players to go into a commander game with a plan to team up with another player?

Reminder that anons have been bitching and moaning saying that WOTC would turn all the characters black even with the knowledge that the Tolkien house are the ones that made them turn Aragorn black and not WOTC themselves

Only person I know irl that has said this is bipolar as fuck and is currently working on starting a cult. I don't believe you.

They're in the same deck. You target yourself to get the other.

partner was introduced in a two headed giant set so the idea was your partner could tutor for the other side

Why would you be surprised by that? They didn't racebend anyone in most of the other UB sets. You knew that, right?

I don't know anything about this character but I like how she looks and the stuff her cards do.

Meant to reply to

No he doesn't play the game anon

I really wish that Dawntrail never happened. These cards remind me of the golden days of Stormblood and 1.23b.

werestve there any mill cards?

She is basically the face of FFXIV, she's designed to be likable

BUY AN AD HASBRO YOU BLASTERD BENCHOD

All there is so far on the main set. Getting a bit ignored at the start of the previews.

FFXI.jpg - 3360x936, 962.87K

But not as ignored as FFV...

FFV.png - 2684x934, 3.75M

The ohoho is there. All is right in the world.

Or as FFXII!!! Which only has one non-Cid card shown so far.

FFXII.png - 2686x936, 3.97M

Cocks

She's a member of your JRPG party. Kinda just a walking exposition dump which I'll upset a lot of people for saying but she became the mascot of 14 because cat girl. Goes from a healer to a black mage, is blind but "sees" things through their aether (the magic sauce of the setting), and has a comical amount of fakeout deaths.

wtf tits on a magic card???

You and me both buddy

Is he in?
Also as an actual magic player, i wont be getting any of this.
Wotc killed the game, only thing left is premodern & predh.

Not a numbered entry, so no. Our boy Ramza got done dirty because of this too.

Well at least they knew who to add. The only 2 anyone gives a fuck about. Suppose there could be a judge or something in there. Wasnt arcadia a land or something?

Only mainline from 1-16. The cope is that spinoffs will get cards in Secret Lair Drops, but I doubt it. If they do appear in Secret Lair as mechanically unique cards thats going to be a problem since those are limited

Yo, Rinoa got a card?

where's Exdeath?

Planisphere lists added creature type wizard at the start of the effect

Nouliths lists added creature type cleric at the end of the effect

this bothers me more than it should

In the main set. He's probably going to be BG

well technically speaking Astrologians aren't career healers while Sages are

Sounds like shit
Word of advice anons, ditch this, get a printer and proxy a Premodern or PreDH deck. it will cost you less, be cooler taste and more fun to play.

he says, posting a card with one of the most dogshit keywords ever printed

man he was wasted on a shit card

Real chad hours

I don't like how many of the interesting looking cards are from XIV. I don't want to play an MMO to find out about the characters.

Because theyre only spoiling the 4 commander precons, and one of them is FFXIV. Barely any of the main set cards have been spoiled yet

Where does she stash the materia after she steals it?

why is the ninjutsu cost listed twice.

I haven't even looked at the precon aside from the face commander and the BW zombie guy. I'm talking about the Standard set.

commander cards get all the neat stuff

main set gets a fucking 7 cost 5 flyer

I swear to god, there better be bonuses he can get for having other fiends or crystal artifacts or something

anon, this IS a main set. Final Fantasy is the first standard universes beyond set

Standard procedure for when they have to explain how a keyword works.

yes anon i know. Garland is part of the standard set of cards unlike the commander only cards

Garland's an uncommon, he's balanced to be draft filler.

menace

More like cuckold.

he's only uncommon anon. They can't make all of the cards big fancy mythics
though I agree that could have done something at least a little more interesting than being able to come back as a big french vanilla

i know i just wanted something cooler for the first boss of the series. i was hoping uncommons and filler could be more just common NPCs or basic enemies and their palette swaps.

Yes, Rinoa got a card, but that's Ultimecia you cunt.

If they did that they wouldn't have room for all the characters who matter. Really the only way they could do everything justice is to have at least three full sets, and that just wasn't ever going to happen.

Don't give WotC ideas

You 'member blocks? I 'member blocks.

Sure. We'll have the Marvel block, followed by the DC block, followed by the Star Wars block...

Every legendary is mythic so people need to buy more packs it's full proof.
This is their best selling set. I wouldnt be surprised if square gets hit up again, for DQ or ff spinoffs, since with how things seem to be going with disney i doubt they'll do more capeshit unless it drastically outsells FF

Unironically it is a bit weird there's seemingly nothing from Dawntrail here, Sphene, and her boss fight are safe choices
Also I'm really annoyed at Zenos not being "Viator Galvus" instead, hope he at least gets alternate art with his Endwalker drip

His skill should be turning the table around

I'm actually really curious about exactly why they can't do Marvel digitally. It could be an additional licence fee, it could be not wanting to compete with Snap, it could be the existing Snap contract forbidding it, it could be an issue with them being available in perpetuity as long as the client exists, it could be about fuzzy monetization numbers if there's a percentage deal.
Maybe I just want to know if there's a chance of them ever having the paper version of the cards available as styles you can buy.

How expesive would it be if I wanted to just buy this card?

EL ROTADOR

On its first week its probably gping to cost $15 bucks since 1.) Its a card that can only be found in the precon and can be opened up in collector booster packs
2.) Its a white "catchup" card that lets you benefit from your opponent which is popular in EDH. Give it some time and it'll go down to like 7 bucks.

only one treasure token a turn

But i want a potato nadu

Im pretty sure its a nerfed version of an enchantment that does the same thing but better.

Anything with Sora and the gang?

At least any Xehanort form would be cool. Even Org. XIII in their cloaks.

Sora hangs out with Final Fantasy characters, it makes sense.

Thats all disney dawg

It's probably easier for Lorcana to get that.

They had their own TCG and it got dropped right as they were introducing Organization XIII cards

Cute Ryne! I hope we see more of her. Gaia I can take or leave.
