I dropped video essays for twitch comp style let's plays and I've been leagues happier ever since, despite essentially killing my channel. Video essays made me desperate for views and subs since the amount of work I put into each video was astronomical. When a video failed, it hurt like a mother.

If you only have a basic audio setup with no way to hear/monitor yourself while speaking (for example, if you're going to use your smartphone while underneath blankets), then I have no ideas, but I've heard that being able to live monitor your audio while recording voiceover helps with stuttering.

Just means you didn't believe in yourself enough to power through. You have to have some degree of self confidence. Look up the Joe Rogan interview with Adam Sandler. Long story short is that he convinced/deluded himself into thinking that he was gonna make it. That he was the shit even though he was actually just shit in his early days. That self confidence and delusion is what helped him power through everything and break through to success.

Yes, a ton of them do. Last year some zoomer made a video about how bad modern gaming was and it got 3M views in a matter of days. He then fumbled completely. For a broader example, a lot of Path of Exile, Destiny and Tekken focused channels have no idea how to progress their content given the state of those games.
