At some point you people HAVE to learn that the competency crisis is real and we’re deep in it. The reason why the series fell off a cliff after 4, and why 4 was a downgrade from 3 in several ways, was because the game dev industry had been falling into a competency crisis which progressively got worse until about a decade ago when most competent developers seem to have disappeared almost entirely. BF4 was like the last gasp of a competent, high-class dev team taking on an ambitious project. There was an interview with some dev in BF4 who complained that there was a ridiculous amount of effort put into creating content for the game and that it would be “never again”. Could you IMAGINE a studio today regardless of budget making such an ambitious game as BF4? Remember the commander app for iPad? Totally absurd, I can’t even picture it happening today regardless of the franchise or company. That’s because talented, dedicated strong devs don’t work in game dev anymore. They CAN’T make a good game, it’s NOT an issue about “listening to players”, “greed”, or any of that shit, it’s about baseline capability.

Why do zoom zooms unironically like multiplayer characters being super fleshed out special snowflakes? I don't fucking get it. The joy of these games has always been being a low level random grunt duking it out against other grunts.
I hate grinding too, it's why people meta chase and turn multiplayer to shit cause everyone's just racing to unlock everything as quickly as possible. If everything is unlocked from the start you'll notice people are way more open to experimenting with loadouts and playstyles.
