Young Masters...

Young Masters, let's talk about martial arts/wuxia/xianxia video games before I cripple you and destroy your cultivation.

I only ever got into Amazing Cultivation Sim, pretty good plays like Rimworld but on crack

I need to play matchless kungfu one of these days. I liked the demo a lot.

came here to say i'm jumping back into this. I really need a Tale of Immortal but good game

I zoned out for the last 6 months and apparently wandering sword gets a new dlc next month.
Not a free update this time, but considering the last 2 releases, I will pay the 7 bucks

It's quite fun but as more of the world gets built, it might make the computer shriek more.

xianxia thread

Low fantasy like Wuxia is the best because it actually has martial arts. Xianxia and Xuanhuan are just people hitting each other with their relic items

Tale of Immortal is so kino.

go to an auction to bid on some manuals

win a bidding war against some guy

he attacks me after hoping to take it from me

fight him, win and decide to kill him

his master two realms above comes to defend him

it's a woman

beat her eventually after a hard fight

she vows to become my partner if I let her go

I let her go and make her my concubine

eventually marry her

Kino.

Chinaman

Chad

Literally enslaved by a brutal dictatorship

cannot think freely, must only think and act as the state commands

wandering from your assigned task results in arrest and re-education

Chinese people not actually educated

Chinese people suicidal and constantly getting themselves killed

No concept of safety and self preservation

China is mocked globally.

I never finished. I gave up when the panda attacked.

Junior, you're courting death! You'd better slap yourself 50 times to wash away that shame!

How are juniors enjoying the new content? Honestly most of the chinese theming is on-point though I'm sad there's no direct cultivation references.

I hate how all wuxia MCs looks the same just like how every japanese isekaislop MCs are the same dark haired bland guys. And most of the girls aren't even cute.

litrpg>progression fantasy>xanxia
This is Anon Babble, go back to Anon Babble before I blast you away with my level 9001 cock

Are there any reincarnation games? I think it had more potential than immortality bad/immortality good since you could have different personalities at different lives.

I'm still hunting for good wuxia or xianxia games on Steam that is either rpg or simulation, but sadly some of chinese game lack english translation.

litrpg above anything

LOL

they nailed the relationship revenge and sect progress systems. Exploration and combat was horrible

kek what are some good xianxias?

It has a game now? I thought it's pretty niche.

mfw there will never be a reverend insanity game

Lord of the Mysteries is huge in China. An anime show and a manga are already being made.

Woo shing ching chang e low maw bing bang

If it gets a JP dub it could be more popular overseas

Lord of the Mysteries isn't xianxia though, more lovecraftian than anything in a victorian setting.

I do not like those clothes.

downgrade.jpg - 1219x826, 295.52K

Wasn't he supposed to write a 2nd book or something? I read the first one but it ends on some cliffhanger.

i need legend of mortal translated

you get powerful by drinking potions made from weird stuff or dead people and by performing rituals

eventually you start fighting gods and reality warpers

It's a xianxia and it's genuinely kino.

The 2nd book is done.

Litrpgs can be okay but their fundamental issue that they don't follow DnD scaling. +1 to a stat becomes more and more meaningless as the story goes on and the MC has over 1000+ in stats
At least with DnD you will typically never see a character with above 20 in a stat, at least in low-level games. And if you do its typically a sign you're fucked beyond repair.

No idea why, though. Lord of the Mysteries is mid. It's far too slow, the main character is a moron when he is not a retard, and the author has a tantalizing way to imply he got some answers, but in fact he doesn't, then 250 chapters later he will tantalizingly say maybe you'll get an answer, like, later, then 184 chapters later you get a morsel of something that could lead to an answer about a question.

I mean, putting aside the sociopathy of the MC which is common for Cultivation, and the writing that is subpar, and the isekai, and the harem, and the characters that are one-dimensional, at least the main mysteries could be worth something. Unless you're a complete retard, you mostly read Lord of the Mysteries for the mysteries anyway, which the author touch maybe one chapter out of 500, between harem, sociopathy, isekai shit, and stuff like that.

It unironically makes me fear for the future of China if young chinamen see something so mid as a masterpiece.

Read Cradle by Will Wright.

gweilo who regurgitates cultivation tropes with no literary artistry to make it interesting

nah

sociopathy of the MC

How is he a sociopath? He's kind and cares about people.

harem

What harem he's a sexless incel.

isekai

It's not an isekai so this shows me you didn't read the book

i wonder if ho to lo shu 2 and cultivator way of life 2 will have native translation

Eh, eh. That gweilo produced a 5/10 product with a lot of reused tropes, characters that make no sense, and plotlines that went nowhere.

It's better than 90% of cultivation novels from China. You're literally discussing the shape and smell of shit, if that gweilo shit is better and less foul smelling than that China shit. The gweilo shit is foul, but somewhat average, from China's shit.

LoTM is hardly perfect, but Klein is basically a saint compared to most chinese WN protags so its a weird thing to sperg about.

that picture looks interesting what does it mean?

he doesn’t know

Should I tell junior? It’s the least I can do.
Litrpg IS xianxia; it’s just got the serial numbers filed off, swaps the mythology and automates the progression.
Tell me, anon, what’s the meaningful difference between someone being unassailable because they’re level fifty with an high con, and someone being unsassailable because they’ve reached rank five of the ding-dong realm and have remodelled their body?

To increase your cultivation in LotM you need to do a ritual and the ritual the MC has to do is to create an entire city of fake marionette people that act just like real people would

The difference is it's made in hamburger. John Shoot the level 100 Navy Seal would beat Mung Hao the celestial immortal because all his treasures and paths are made in china.

its shit thats why i recommend it

you do you Ranjeet KEK

it starts great but gets worse with time. i d say it s worth the read at the very least

I read the first five books of LotM, exactly because a retard on Anon Babble, like six years ago, told me to read it. A bunch of time wasted.

How is he a sociopath? He's kind and cares about people.

Oh, absolutely, he isn't worse than the typical Cultivation sociopath, sure. He just think about him, himself, and himself first, and seem to have a pathological inability to think about others not on chess piece terms. It's something from the very first chapter.

What harem he's a sexless incel.

Many of the girls revolve around him. It wouldn't be much of an issue, and that's the genre, if the entire novel wasn't so mid. It's cool to have girls revolving around the MC when the novel is cool. It's something else to read that when you'd prefer to get a teeth pulled out rather than reading it.

It's not an isekai so this shows me you didn't read the book

Did we get an answer about that? After 3500 chapters? Cool.

Basically from what I remember from what I read then: LotM is about a guy isekai'd into victorian Englan, with werewolves and Chtulhu and shit. He proceeds to trick some people into thinking he is a Great Figure, by accident, while eating werewolves legs for cultivation. Then her sister is something, I tuned out, it's forgotten. He goes to London to investigate, then goes to pirate, and etc.

The pacing is painfully slow. The worldbuilding is atrocious. The author absolutely put many jingling bells in front of you, telling you "AH! I'll answer!" like, later, 100% I promise.

It's 100% jingling bells and tropes done to death, and it goes nowhere, though I'd admit I've only read 650,000 words of the novel.

Many of the girls revolve around him.

I think LotM is notorious for being as asexual as it is.

Somehow I doubt you read anything given your obvious linguistic inadequacies.

*adjusts monocle* good day to you too sir.

Nine Sols is pretty good.

So the same as US of Israel but less gay.

I think it's hands down the best webnovel. It goes up and down a bit, and desu I started skipping most battles at some point, but for what it is it's kino.
I read a lot of slop, and for being at over 2k chapters now it's fine. The characters being characters does help a lot, as does good humor.

"Got Dropped into a Ghost Story, Still Gotta Work"

Korean novel inspired by SCP

absolutely great writing and potrays the main character as a kind man in an insane world who's also himself

every arc fills you with dread and how they're gonna get out of it from evil horrors that will mutilate your body and soul

I highly recommend it if you wanna read something.

Reading slop in the first place

play hero's adventure

get to the tower of prosperity

MC takes the time to look directly at the player and tell them that trannies are revolting

Of all the things I was expecting, that wasn't one of them

Got Dropped into a Ghost Story

Still Gotta Work

dacdd543a.jpg - 633x758, 31.33K

This thread belongs to Him.

it starts great but gets worse with time.

the entire wuxia/xianxia author base suddenly coughs blood when junior speaks the deepest dao

Just a heads up, Anon Babble is a GODvel board.

CHADulk.jpg - 998x658, 116.48K

He's the best venerable. Spectral Soul and Paradise Earth compete for the second spot while Primordial Origin is in third place. Last place is either Star Constellation or Genesis Lotus.

I like this thread and like the novel recommendations but why is this even on Anon Babble?

Cultivation is just grinding for levels to break the system.

Based Hulkbro.

Because the sect will undoubtedly receive a myriad of benefits by expanding their influence.

Anon Babble is a wasteland of schizo nonsense with the same 5 retards spamming the same unfunny jokes.

Its not like half the catalog is on-topic either, at least everyone here is well behaved

I read reverend insanity and it's just poorly written edgy shit

fang yuan goes here, he finds exactly what he is looking for, he kills babies, all exactly as he planned

chinese capeshit

What about these clothes?

yi.png - 998x1067, 2.2M

Yes, I hide a snake in my staff and shoot it out when fighting and that still count as a martial art

I'm not a massive fan, they're overly designed if that makes any sense? Sometimes less is more

my dad can beat up your dad

Back to the kindergarden with you.

capeshit is about any westoid snowflake gaining unique superpowers after being exposed to radiation. Cultivation is about mortals attending Dao Hogwarts and putting in effort to have higher Qi and ultimately become immortal. Easy to conflate the two when you're media illiterate

it's objectively better thoughbeit

Aileen quest.png - 377x296, 158.78K

it was really grating by the end but it got quite a few chuckles out of me
eithan and ziel best characters. just wish he did something more interesting for Yerin

Hulk is immortal and the personification of Marvel's SUPREME GOD's wrath on the physical plane.

PONDERINGulk.jpg - 435x706, 76.33K

I get your point, but they were flashy to denote the new status of the MC and distinguish it from the simpler design and color scheme for the Wudang robes, which you dislike.
Do you have a design in mind that nails the balance?

pathmc.png - 952x640, 743.69K

I love how in cultivation shit the women always show more skin than the men. But only the hot ones.

sure but he didn't work for it i.e capeshit

Limitless is the best since he went the furthest.

Jade beauties from big families tend to cover most of the body except for arms/pits

he doesn't know what struggles the GODulk had to overcome through the years

wood build in Tale of Immortal

I have made a massive mistake.

The truth is that they're all fine unless you add isekai, which is when it instantly turns to shit.

If you have assets why not show it off? A harvest, bountiful beyond measure, will speak for itself.

the best Chinese novel isn't about cultivation

Can't wait for this summer where we experience Kino in anime form.

LOM_zh_cover.jpg - 1304x2010, 2.23M

The only thing people should be cultivating is rape.

Pull out glowing green jade

Now what?

he thinks Bruce had a normal a struggle-free life before the Hulk

Kek.

Chugging potions isn't too far off.

Yes, junior? My cultivation scripture requires me to steal the yin of fair maidens by force, you're not saying anything new.

general rule of Anon Babble is that the best discussions are had outside the topic's home board

4th step cultivators could wipe him from existence just by thinking about it

maidens

women are not rapeseed oil, get back to the rapefields you chink slave

Is this the thread?

The game will be an MMORPG I think. What Sequence would you go for?

i know that epic reference

wow it's such a struggle to get a phD, no one has ever done it and accidentally get exposed to radiation oopsy

ROFLLLL i accept your concession

Anyone else read this?
This shit disguises itself as a horny novel but has some of the best writing I have seen in cultivation stories later on. It unironically made me cry at a couple of points and the way it handles the cultivation system, with real/illusionary worlds and past lives is fascinating.

admits to not reading Hulk comics

Yup.

Wood is pretty good but you can't wing it, you really need a guide otherwise you can brick your build.

This remind me of good old kung fu film and series not like today's gayfemboy.

love xianxia in theory

absolutely hate the vast majority of MCs

is there a GOOD xianxia or xianxia adjacent novel with a non bloodthirsty MC that's not Cradle?

based western xianxia enthusiasts

Thor could unironically kill them all.

jiopage.png - 1200x1393, 1.91M

So is it all chiggers/SEAmonkeys in these threads? Surely no white people actually enjoy this slop?

bruce banner's struggles are totally relevant leading to him being gaining powers deservedly via accidental exposure to radiation. he totally worked for it

LMAOOO it keeps getting more embarrassing

CapeGODS.....I kneel.

So is it all chiggers/SEAmonkeys in these threads? Surely no white people actually enjoy this slop?

If you want to know the demographics of Anon Babble so badly, just do a survey. I promise to answer truthfully, and the results may surprise you. I know who uses this site because I was still using it when there were still White people.
The people using it now may use their language, but they're very different to the people who came before.

Much better. I don't feel like replaying the game again though, extreme mode was cancer.

I do, it's a guilty pleasure of mine. I also roleplay as a xianxia protagonist in life which is how I got ripped and richer than when I was a fat slob.

Litrpg is turbo slop
Progression is way better

only thing white anons can come together on Anon Babble is shitting on modern pozzed games and OoT threads

white people do not enjoy DBZ

cope faggot

Can't we just have fun? We are making fun of this genre too.

Slow and steady

ok now I'm interested. tell me more. does it have a manhua? is it any good?

if you make a thread about certain genre at least make a list of the games for newfag to play

What is exactly this genre of fiction? Is it like chinese cape comics?

images (5).jpg - 182x277, 8.25K

No habla espanol, Pablo.

chinese shonen fantasy with cape powercreep

I tried giving litrpgs a try and was very disappointed.
First read primal hunter. The story itself was quite fun but the author pads half the book with the literary equivalent of mmo grinding. Reading the protagonist just mindlessly grinding levels with nothing really interesting going on completely put me off the book.
I then tried defiance after the fall, but the start of that was awful, at least primal hunter had an engaging beginning. Then as it progressed it got a bit better but I ended up dropping it because it was still boring and I didn't like any of the characters including the protagonist.
Haven't touched any more litrpgs since

Thunderbolt Fantasy

rent free (literally)

Any inheritance package kinda trivializes it, honestly.
Unless you pick all the modifiers

white leftists and (((white))) people ruined gaming, even indies are a bunch of pozzed cucks, if not offensively so, no wonder Anon Babble is filled with HUEmonkies and SEAnigs

Super supportive is pretty good though it's barely a litrpg
Author only gave it the tag because Royal road's readerbase is retarded and they only read litrpg

I'M CALLING ICE PACO

Super supportive

The first few arcs are okay but the author has turned slow-pace into milisecond pacing. Like I get it you have a lot world building notes but I don't care about the not!cultivatiors and why they like certain kind of fish on their off days, fuck off. This isn't why I read this why are you focusing on this???

try Dungeon Diving by Bruce Sentar. good story, fun cast, slow, good worldbuilding. Maybe there is TOO MUCH worldbuilding, I don't need to know about elvish steel trade.

there is just one reason you may not like it: it's haremlit.

It doesn't have a manhua, but even if it did why would you read it? Manhua adaptations almost always ruin the source material unlike manga and manhwa.
The story itself isn't unique per say, it's just a very well executed version of a pretty conventional cultivation story. It also avoids a lot of the more mindless cliches you might come to expect and takes them in w direction most stories wouldn't.
It still has plenty of what you might expect from a cultivation story, but the author really did a good job picking what works and throwing away what doesn't.
The protagonist isn't really in any rush to gain power either, and characters take some time to develop as well, so the pacing is a lot more comfy.
It's just an enjoyable read, I really recommend it.

The protagonist isn't really in any rush to gain power either,

FINALLY.

Xianxia is at its best when it incorporates some daoism. I don't think anything in wuxia has topped Meng Hao's ascension to immortality in ISSTH.

I genuinely believe that a lot of shitposting and shitting on games are SEAmonkeys and Brazillians because they genuinely cannot understand what it feels like to play games anymore and also they keep praising China nonstop.

I am fine with haremlit, in fact I have read some other stuff by Bruce, I really enjoyed his Dragon Justice series although I didn't get close to finishing it. The first book of that was really good.
I put off Dungeon Diving because I wasn't sure how interesting it would be but I may give it a try now.

Dungeon Diving by Bruce Sentar

Thanks I'll check it out, I want to read more litrpg but they all drag out more and more and never end.

only us white people enjoy this slop
chinks actually mock us for enjoying the worst cultivation webnovels from decades ago but those are the only ones translated

Tale of Wuxia and (Pre).

This. So much this. Us white people should be ashamed of ourselves. A life without black cocks isn't a life worth living.

He's literally me.

Speaking of haremlit , this is probably the most nonharemlit haremlit book.
In fact if this wasn't haremlit it might have blown up with normalfags.

From any authors perspective, it's extremely difficult to know whether something will be interesting or boring to your audience
The best thing you can do is ignore your writings for a few months before reading it yourself. Problem is that's less possible with the nature of serials/web novels
Also that's a shame to hear. I haven't gotten caught up on super supportive in quite some time.

lost to the CCP

I put off Dungeon Diving because I wasn't sure how interesting it would be but I may give it a try now.

the problem is that it tends to be REALLY slow. it's my first Bruce work (and my first haremlit in general), I don't know if he does it everytime, but he tends to spend a lot of time in developing the world to the point that I start to get bored. but when shit its the fan and we get to the action or to the plot it becomes very very good.

And Crimson is one of the best heroine I've read. it's how you should make a badass female.
Sexy as hell, 100% badass to the point that two different worlds (three probably) are scared shitless about her, and 100% devoted to MC. And MC is a badass n its own right, though the growth is still pretty slow as of book 4 he's just reached level 20.

it's on my backlog, but I didn't know it was an haremlit, I thought it was magic school stuff.

He's basically the antithesis of the average chinese, loves freedom and is extremely ambitious.

Honestly I prefer Wuxia to Xianxia. Wuxia deal with the struggle of people more than Xianxia and the historical context really sell those struggle.

Father got executed by the corrupt king

The Manchu invade

The rebels execute people who disagree with the new king, including your best friend.

Disillusion, the hero leave China

what does Anon Babble think about wandering inn
i finally got out of the sunk cost fallacy and stopped reading it when bird became trans

Well, funny you say that, I'm probably the Whitest person in this thread but I'm merely just curious as to what this is. I've seen some funny pictures about cultivation before, that's about it. You might say I'm cultivating knowledge.

Everyone in this thread wears a green hat

One of the big problems most have is a combo of statblock autism and wegh syndrome.
Authors who have a finished series under their belt can be generally trusted to write far better books

This but I also like Wuxia more cuz the power ceiling is at the floor instead of the sky. Hard to actually give a shit about fights when everyone and their mother have 10 billion skills.

Is this overlord fan fiction?

And Crimson is one of the best heroine I've read. it's how you should make a badass female.

Tell me more
what makes her badass without falling into the stronk women trope

Chinese MC fight for other causes but not for consolidate power for himself

Are you sure the author is chinese?

Visionary or Error

Yes.

fanfic?! LOL

Overlord is shit so I shill a fanfic, yes. It's the superior read. If Overlord can get published and get tons of fans, anything can.

Play Aura Clash by /ourguy/ from Anon Babble.

I mean it does have a harem, although it's not at all apparent from the first volume since it focuses completely on only one girl.
And the author generally writes harems as well.

Its weird to think about how badly this shit will age in like 20-30 years. But being on-topic, the author is good but is clearly suffering liberal brainrot

It starts out extremely good but 2 chapters a day really drags down the quality. It could be a lot better

Yes, Jin Yong. Most olders Wuxia works have realy selfless MC

Having watched the Sseth video, that shit looks like ASS. Like a terrible mix between Rimworld and an idleclicker but you make rooms and have pawns do work to raise chi instead of idleclicking.

Watch Thunderbolt Fantasy. Now!

nah its dogshit smut

really like an english wuxia novel

it's not popular at all but still really good

its following is so small that I can't bring it up anywhere without getting accused of being the author shilling it

I spend every day fearing that it will get dropped but I am powerless to resist the heavens.

Average cultivator mc is a 1 in 100000 year talent with 12 special Phoenix dragon and jade emporer bloodlines and max luck to stumple across 5 once in a thousand year oppurtunities in ever town they visit, are they really defying the heavens?

It isn't wuxia or xianxia. It's closer to Bleach than anything chinese.

Most people don't want to read something that piggybacks off the fame of another's work. It is what it is.

Seems like xianxia/wuxia is generally fee from NTR shit (at least on the protagonist side of things since there is plenty of cucking otherwise).
I can't even think of a cultivation story where the protagonist gets NTRed

I like Xianxia more, the vastness it offers and the power system, when it is properly implemented, appeals to me.

Martial World begins with the protag getting NTR'd of his childhood friend/fiance. But otherwise you're right

Seems like xianxia/wuxia is generally fee from NTR shit

he hasn't read Sentimental Swordsman, Ruthless Sword by one of the granddads of the genre

duck.jpg - 123x112, 19.33K

That's literally the idea where the villain cultivation stories spawned from.
All these protagonists are just children of heaven favored by luck.

WHAT NOVEL

Seems like xianxia/wuxia is generally fee from NTR shit

But it is FILLED with NTR baiting. Almost every xianxia I read in the 2010s had an arc where MC's woman was being forcefully married off by her family to another man.

How does someone like Bruce Sentar even get started? I can't find info about his publisher so it seems like he just posts them on Amazon
I know a lot of people do Royal Road > milk it until you stop gaining patreon subscribers > stub it and move to kindle unlimited exclusivity
Did Bruce just get lucky and have one of his earlier works officially published or what

mixed

why

What did I just fucking say?

It got updated recently, that's all I'm willing to give.

Haremlit has a well established community where even remotely competently written shit can easily get very popular because of how much dogshit exists in the niche.
Most of the haremlit stuff just gets released in Amazon and never gets posted on royal road or anything similar.

I liked the first round of questioning about the nature of immortality, and am very much looking forward to the second round's combat shenanigans. My only major complaints are the endless Heishou IDs and Xichun ceaselessly piling up the death flags

You clearly deserve all the shit you get for being such a colossal gatekeeping homo

Exactly, they're called fated encounters and you as the reader tags along on the protag's journey of increasing power levels, obtaining relis/manuals and coming across eccentric masters to learn from instead of just being born a billionaire or getting bit by a spider and have powers 0 to 100%

Wuxia has some of the best old man designs and characteristic

The five greatest martial artists in the world

Eastern Heretic: a massive tsundere guy who think he is better than everyone else.

Western Venom: Evil guy who use poison and toad martial art

Southern Emperor: Guy got cucked and then refused to save the baby of his wife. Become a monk to atone for his crime

Northen Beggar: Leader of the beggar sect, like to eat and shoot dragon energy out of his hand

Central Divide: The greatest martial artist among them, even on his deathbed he still beat one of the other 4.

One of my favourites got updated recently, it's called Nameless Sovereign

afraid his favorite novel will get dropped for being unpopular

doesn't share it or make any attempt to increase its popularity even when directly asked

stop samefagging no one cares

I got turned off when the fursecution angle ramped up

I read it but later on the updates became really slow and I forgot about the plot.

Step 1: Put big tits on the cover
that's really it. Since the fantasy genre got gatecrashed by cat ladies and legbeards, the mere fact a book has big tits on the cover means that men don't have to worry about getting rugpulled.

The weebshit on the first volume was really annoying from me. Like we go from a traditional western village to a place where everyone wears kimonos all the time and has japanese customs, and they are supposed to be in the same country? It just feels ridiculous and completely unnecessary.
The obsession with demihumans/beastmen felt the same way, especially when it became clear that every single girl was going to be one.

This is kino actually.

gets filtered by chinese lego

You will learn the dao and the mysteries of heaven and earth, junior, and you will like it.

ok i'll check it out

not on light novel world

where do you guys read shit
all the sites i used before got shut down and all the ones i googled after were paywalled besides light novel world

You guys should read Star Odyssey or Tribulation of Myriad Races.

That's not a small following at all.

Surprisingly no one posted picrel
Is this thread compromised?

non bloodthirsty MC

Haremlit has a well established community where even remotely competently written shit can easily get very popular because of how much dogshit exists in the niche.

I believe that but do they have like a forum or places they advertise or do they just cold drop that shit on amazon?
Like non-harem litrpg/progression stuff for instance would pretty much never be successful just straight up releasing it on amazon. All the ones doing well on amazon have either publishers or pre-existing followings through royal road

Surprisingly no one posted picrel

Is this thread compromised?

Everyone knows of it, and has read at least a bit of it. It's also dropped so there isn't much new stuff to discuss.
This thread has evolved more so in the direction of recommending lesser known more obscure stuff.

Royalroad and annasarchive

Throws two kids into a furnace for a cultivation gu even after he obtained A rank talent

"chinks MCs are sociopaths"

*proceeds to play nuGoW to become a better man because revenge and killing even when justified makes you the bad man but worse than the ones who messed your whole life*

Holy shit, I always hate they don't get cultivation worldbuilding.
What do you do when everyone competes for true immortality a cultural age of warlords and empires and the world is dog-eat-dog when a spirit beast, hungry ghost or evil cultivator isn't killing people? Wear a green hat and become the better man™?
Fucking cucks and tourists have eyes but can't see Mount Tai.

There is a reddit and discord for it where they advertise their stuff. The haremlit audience is primarily mass up of gooners so much like all gooners they are a lot more willing to open their wallet for good stuff

If Heaven's Will throws prey before a predator who's fault is it?

Pretty much. Men has been so starved by genres for us that will buy anything. If that anything is remotely competent like Bruce Sentar's work or K.D robertsons one it will immediately blow up. That anc consistency, as in sperge ad many series as you can. Twoat times looks the norm for well established authors.

Honestly? If you're a good wirter give

I posted the wrong image You should try checking out My Longevity Simulation then, it is basically RI with worse MC and better world building

He gets a lot of flak for being "evil" when he is really just freedom-obsessed and adapted to living in a world full of mass murderers and the mentally ill.

This incest kino was pretty great, I got bored of the slow free chapter releases though. Anyone kept up with it?

Lust Knight.jpg - 1200x1697, 447.89K

Read this shit because I hear it is popular

MC have a tense and antagonistic relationship with the villainess

Villainess is forcefully transform into a small snake after her plan backfired

MC keep the snake and they grow closer on their journey

Good, so far so good

MC got drugged with aphrodisiac and rape the villainess

WHAT?

Their development return to 0 after this event and MC never tell anyone about this. Then they go their seperate way

When the villainess return, she now have the MC child and only rekindle their relationship if MC pay for child support.

Who the fuck wrote this?

Starts chanting buddhist teachings while forcing a bear he starved to devour a little girl.

Damn
I should've catered to gooners... Artists figured this shit out already and I'm just playing catch up. I will finish my current progression slop to not disappointment my small readerbase

thank you

Much like all things, you get something and lose something.
If you are an actual decent writer, you can make some decent money pandering to gooners, but you basically lose any chance of your works achieving mass mainstream appeal like some progressive fantasy series with zero to little romance have.
Btw what is the name of your progression slop, I am quite interested in reading what another anon has made myself

Again. It's not too late. IF you're a good writer. The genre is still relatively recent and not oversaturated by good stuff

should i be worried?

about to argue about Dao Comprehension

realize 99% of xianxia novels dont have it despite all of them keep yapping about the great dao

Why is it the case?
The first popular novel with dao comprehension is Renegade immortal, it finished in 2012 and the only unique thing about it is its dao comprehension part
Why there are rarely anyone else put dao comprehension in their novels despite this, even including high effort ones?

A-anon?
Are you ok?!

i remember one where some dude pissed off the MC so once he got his godly powers he had every person in the world with that guys last name just die. doesn't get more out by the roots than that

Comprehension is a thing in almost every cultivation novel I have read.

but you basically lose any chance of your works achieving mass mainstream appeal like some progressive fantasy series with zero to little romance have.

I wish that was true. Lately I found troonshit even in progfantasy. I was reading Arcane Ascension, and suddenly there is romance betwen MC and the Nigger, the MC who was supppsed to be asexual on book 1. I can't read anything anymore without questionig it first

Tribulation of Myriad Races

This was great just for the factional conflict that felt real and multi-facted. Really good build-up where the MC tries to play nice until they finally push him over the line and he goes

FUCK IT, WE BALL

The author's other work Star Gate is amazing too, nice to finally see a work where the mentor grows with the MC and stays relevant to the plot.

I'm flattered by the interest but I'm keeping it a secret. Not even my family knows about it because I don't want to be mommy's little failed author at gatherings.
I learned a lot writing as it's my first work I've shown other people, so at least it hasn't been a complete waste of time.
Tbh I also don't think I could manage to write harem so my next work will also most likely be little-to-no-romance progression slop

They never go deep into it tho
There is a whole arc in Renegade immortal where the mc just turn off his power, live like mortal person for multiple decades to comprehend the dao

Lately I found troonshit even in progfantasy.

for me it's Worm's female jew main character having sex with her black boyfriend after beating up neo-nazis

It should be noted that the haremlit audience has a great aversion for cuckshit or anything even remotely cuckshit adjacent (excluding netori).
Stuff that includes shit like that is banned in their subreddit for example and cases where it has happened have caused enough drama that authors have even been forced to rewrite their stories because of it.

Would this count as a cultivation game? Can I decimate a young master's bloodline for having crossed me? I wish there were more 3d, open world cultivation games.

You say that but Grue suffered nearly everystep of the way. The fact he was by far the most 'stable' parahuman who got powers twice despite being utterly and completely dead on the inside tells you a lot. He was a real nigga

That usually happens later on, in higher cultivation novels. Grasping Evil for example has an arc like that.
You need to return to the basics, and go back to comprehending life as a mortal to ascend further.

I'm really bored at work so something i eat slop. At the moment i'm readingTales of Demons and Gods.

higher cultivation stages

I don't know why I wrote novels lmao

It is wuxia
Now is cultivation genre just xianxia or is it the combination of both xianxia and wuxia, that depends on the person you ask
Wuxia = low level warrior
Xianxia = high level wizard

Eh, sorcery can still exist in wuxia its just less 'I NUKE PLANETS' and more 'I crafted this specific ritualistic diagram to harvest the blood of virgins into my spell'

Grue's second trigger event was completely contrived

alright we're using these mannequins to swap people out with trickster easily while fighting s9

ok cool

alright shatter bird is flying at us, jump off the building grue

now I swap the two...perfect, we've got shatterbird

can't you just swap grue back with a spare mannequin or something

uh whoops, didn't plan this far ahead, gotta leave him i guess

x thousand words later

O MY INFINITE POWER-STEALING DARKNESS

Like I can suspend my disbelief for a lot, but this entire scenario was so extremely contrived just so grue got captured. What, they couldn't have used one less mannequin as explosive bait or something? The dogs just happened to be at capacity and they also didn't think this far ahead despite it being their plan the whole time to capture shatterbird?

Is it the one with the yandere blonde feMC?

It is popular the same reason demon slayer is popular
The animation for its donghua is good, the source material is shit but bearable

That's not cultivation. It and Lost Souls are Chinese shonen. And by shonen, I mean the shonen jump kind because you can slap Yuji and Gojo into these games, and they'd fit right in.

I feel like I've read or tried out every xianxia novel out there. I miss the simpler times when I always had something to read

strategy

That's why. We want to throw hands with the jade beauties not watch minifigures from a bird's eye perspective.

It is wuxia actually

There is always something to read bro. When I really can't find anything to read, I just go to Chinese sites and look through them. There is thousands of stuff that hasn't gotten even it's title translated.
Other than that, when I really can't find anything Chinese to write, I go for Korean stuff and vice versa. I barely touch japanese novels anymore honestly.

That's based.

Only one I remember being good is Reikenzan

It's probably xuanhuan from the look of it

No you dont
One thing I notice is that non-chink readers actually prefer slop xianxia compare to actually good but slow paced ones like JianLai or Dao of bizarre immortal

Wuxia is terrible.
Worse than isekai.

Good thing most of novels nowadays are xianxia novels instead of wuxia

path of kung fu came out of early access recently and seems ok, anyone played it? it says it has an english MTL translation and they're working on a "proper" translation.

Wish jap novel MCs were less universal pussies
Now that I think about it, they all have their flavor on what makes a "relatable" MC, or at least what the local populace wants out of a power fantasy

chinese MC = psychopath that kills anyone who wrongs him

korean MC = dirt poor retard games to become billionaire

japanese MC = has girls throw themselves at him but he's too respectful to do anything

This thread is great, it's a real shame we don't have a general anywhere to discuss stuff like this in a regular basis. Closest thing to this is the /Isekai/ thread in Anon Babble. But it constantly gets flooded with japanese only schizos and shitty doodles.

It's great because it's not a regular thing
If we had a general I assure you it'd get as bad as anything else real quick

Soon bros. Please be good!

The game will be an MMORPG I think.

Source? Either way Paragon.

I notice there are 3 new novels trending recently: Eternal Tale, I Shall Be Everlasting In the World of Immortals, The Mirror Legacy
Is it as good as My Longevity Simulation? I only heard The Mirror Legacy is suffer porn like dao of bizarre immortal

I'm probably the Whitest person in this thread

It's still a real shame. Just from this thread alone I added a ton of good reads in my backlog.

Wear a green hat

kys chankoro scum

Not going to lie, I have glossed over a ton of novels just because they have something like this as their cover.
They really need to try to be a bit more unique

Eternal-Tale.jpg - 900x1200, 115.16K

We need another Kung Fu based game. I played the hell out of Jade Empire.

45467465746.png - 777x654, 37K

Is longevity simulator the one where the motherfucker never goes or does anything, merely using simulator all the time?

Isekai is just a force multiplier for how shit a book's genre already is.

tourist here. What is this?

I Got Isekai'd Into A World Of Cultivation But I Have A System!?

They ever make levels in harvest or gathering or whatever, matter?

sauce

Hearsay from reddit

The entire point of the hulk is Bruce's struggle controlling his powers and anger.
Him turning into the Hulk was a curse, not a blessing.

Villain/demonic ones are generally fun.
But there aren't really many "good" xianxia. It's bottom tier web fiction for the most part.
Some parody series are okay, I suppose. But inevitably they either get too stupid or they turn into action series instead.

Limbus Company/Project Moon games. Its a bit of a rabbit hole but imagine a cyberpunk setting with wuxia and SCP elements.

He sacrifices the whole world multiple times to advance his realm, but he generally avoid fights

Fucking Yahweh.

I watched the first season of A will Eternal and I am seriously not impressed.
The novel is a million times better wtf

Most WNs don't translate well into animation
Like I love the Re:zero WN but the anime for me is unwatchable.

RMJI and BTTH donghua are better than the novels
It is only the case where the source materials are shit, so the donghua director just cut off most of no fighting scenes and lengthen all fighting scenes.
Some other slops like against the gods, marial god asura, nine star hegemon body arts, tales of demons and gods,... probably will have better donghua than novel too

muh emotions

just meditate/cultivate. Its just one aspect of cultivation novels btw even anakin had to go through that. Nothing special

Re:zero

the anime for that was so shit I can't imagine the novel being any better

A will Eternal donghua

pros: not a 3d cgslop
cons: i cant read
tldr: fk u i like it

Whats wrong with 3dcg?

it looks uncanny and out of place

that's not gay or troon shit

Almost all of the psychological aspects of the work was cut, the MC is much more complex compared to his anime cardboard cut-out and several side-characters like Felix are reduced to tropes. Its really fucking funny to me what they did with the cat-boy considering he's a massive raging incel in the original work and he remains a spiteful little shit the entire time.
The only good thing I can say about it is that some of the VA work and soundtrack are good, but that's barely a compliement.

not just that . I get that it is easier not having to hand draw every frame but its like they dont even put in any effort to rig/move the models smoothly. Really cheap
use your eyes

how is it out of place when everything is 3dcg, you mistook it with 3dcg in anime or something?

that's what's neat about it
there aren't any

KEKKKK how embarrassing. Stay mad brownie

How many of these do you regconize?

and they look like shit. you mad?

My FUCKING LoCH brother

any of these games have a actually good combat system? i seen the sseth videos on amazing cultivation simulator and matchess kung fu but both had dogshit gameplay, i like seeing number go up but it needs actually fun mechanics with it

No the point is, 100% of all those donghua are 100% 3DCG
I dont even know if english is really your first language at this point, since you dont even understand what Im saying

3dcg is ugly and lazy + you're mad + that's the entire point of me bringing up hand drawn A Will Eternal. KYS ESL time wasting retard

Speaking of progression fantasy, is Shadow Slave unfucked anymore?

LOTM

the mystery is fun, but the plot and characters keep warping around Klein to make him the best awesome ever person to ever exist. The only actually good part was the first arc where he eats shit, after that the author just grabs his cock and wanked it with all his might and by the time the story's over he's fucking a mummy. I know there's le plot twist at the end that he's being le groomed, but it's the same tier as it's all a dream in justification and not expecting the reader to feel cheated.

My Longevity Simulator

picked it back up again for about 700 more chapters then put it down. I feel like the author's making shit up past a certain point and the plot rolls out in a way that makes the MC's journey feels like a smooth Route 20 drive with a few roadbumps as he keeps getting things his way; the most egregrious example I can remember was during a loop, he just """"""happens"""""" to find a daoist who can copy paste terrain just half a chapter after the MC thinks he wants to try his hand with city building. I think it tries to hard to larp as RI without understanding that half the fun was the author making Fang Yuan eat shit repeatedly as his plans blew up in his face.

Why do you suddenly ad hominem when all I did was asking why is 3DCG bad?
Did these 3DCG murder your family or something?

Legend of Condor Hero, one of the first popular Wuxia novel

Man MJ was real petty nigga.

I'm guessing Legend of Condor Heroes

I know there's le plot twist at the end that he's being le groomed

kek
I stopped reading around the time he was getting godlier powers, funny that it went downhill so consistently

It's alright but I need more challenge.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA asked and answered here yet you're too brown to comprehend

Read the reply chain

What really? Somehow never heard of it, and I went on huge chink novel binges back in the day

>>LOTM

What exactly did you expect? Did you forget he comes contact with Goddess of secrecy the moment he "isekai" to the new world? Or did you understimate her power and expect Klein to keep his secret away from her?
Judging by the donghua, she locks in on Klein the moment he wakes up from his headshot. Put 1 plus 1 together and you realize all of book 1 of LOTM is just theater play

And I replied with the entire episode of Renegade immortal, and then you somehow get mad because of it

It's really old, like from the 50s-60s era. Thankfully they keep adapted it every few years

le groomed

goddess of secrecy

I read both LOTM books and I have no idea what the fuck you guys are talking about, are you just pretending to be retarded?

Oh wow, that's some grand daddy wuxia
Is there a specific translation or adaptation you'd recommend? Now I'm interested

I expect more people to call out the bullshit of how villain arcs kept dying in the most stupid ways and Klein's had a smooth sailing past arc 1, he's got a demigod godfather who helps him out just because he's nice to his history professor one time for god's sake. Theater play or not, once you recognize that there's plot armor it's just not fun to read anymore, but whenever I pointed it out people kept saying 'it's okay! he was groomed so everything makes sense' which just infuriates me.

The end reveals that most of the hardship the MC went through (excluding some specific shit that are on the same/higher level than Gods) are planned out for the mc
Amon is revealed to be planned to lose against the MC for example

Dugu Qiubai vs Dongfang Bubai

read Chinese stories

Hates MCs being "wanked"

Let me guess, Re'zero is your favorite anime?

you mistook it with 3dcg in anime or something?

LMAOOOO you call this making a point? Very low effort at trolling

no? I fucking hate that too. It's just self-insert for people who needs a couple layers of irony to enjoy their harem without admitting they like to eat shit

Amon is revealed to be planned to lose against the MC for example

Literally not what happened, way to out yourself as a shitter.

If you hate mc being wanked that much, read suffer porn like dao of bizarre immortal
you are not alone btw, apparently it is a trend in mainland rn, that is why that mirror legacy is constantly top list on qidian

The most recommended translation is the A Hero Born by Anna Holmwood. Still it's pretty old and many of the author later works far surpass it.

Adam knows Amon will lose against the mc, yet let that happen for the mc to become ATS
That is what I call planned, despite Amon knows nothing of it, and a lot of thing could have gone wrong

I'm not into suffering porn either. I just like, you know how in Harry Potter despite being the MC, he fucks up sometimes? Even a MC of a children's story can make mistakes and grow as a character without it being suffering porn. I know I'm barking up the wrong genre that's mostly based on power fantasy but I do enjoy it when there's a challenge and MC is fallible

Dugu stomps. Just the scraps of his techniques let a bunch of scrubs dab hard on internal energy fags.

Dongfang Bubai

The problem with his martial art is that it's bordering on magic. Like it is the most Xianxia martial art in Wuxia. People who practice it basically become The Flash

Dugu Qiubai

While he was the greatest swordman, his martial art is still based on reality, mainly countering and exploit the pattern of other martial art. That doesn't work on Dongfang Bubai since he would move so fast that it would be impossible to read the pattern.

cultivation games thread

20 posts about actual games

everything else is LN recommendations or powerlevel faggotry

someone will post a screenshot of thunderbolt fantasy

I know wuxia/xianxia is the topic, but I want to shill this Korean novel. It surprised me a lot with how good it turned out to be and it somehow managed to keep up the quality even when I got to the three digit chapters.

Adam didm't """know""" everything, he made plans for EVERY outcome that could have happened, that's what being a Visionary is all about.

this isnt /isekai/ retardbro

He literally had mc in his hand(the corpse cathedral) and let him go
That is extremely obvious
You want him to spell out his entire plan like western villain or something?

I will be honest anon that cover makes it look like the most generic shit ever. The only redeeming factor being the MC isn't some generic pretty boy
Shill me on it, why is it good?

There's a stance in the Dugu Nine Swords specifically for dealing with qi monsters. Even Linghu Chong could go toe to toe against some mean motherfuckers who were stronger and faster than him.

Dugu takes it, no contest.

read the first arc

MC falls over himself trying to save a literal who catgirl for chapters on end, instead of just getting a scout without the baggage

they got the amount of cringe from japan just right

The problem isn't Qi, the problem is you can't even see the moves.

Still it's pretty old and many of the author later works far surpass it.

Hey if you've got the time and you're willing, I'm all ears. Threw the paperback A Hero Born into my amazon cart
Just finished reading some western literature and I was reminded of how much eastern web novel slop I consumed back in college

elevates your wuxia beyond measure

suona.jpg - 1600x1600, 82.5K

Isn't that just a copy of another one. Hell, there's even a redheaded catgirl in the cover.

I will be honest the cover makes it look interesting but the word "labyrinth" puts me off

I can enjoy the sloppiest wish fullfilment haremslop ever but videogame logic i can't stand

>My Longevity Simulator

I want you to think of the alternative if you were the mc
You would spend that entire reset to do nothing but gather info and then you reset
That is just boring, that is why coincidence like that need to happen
The problem is his cheat is way too OP. He literally has a reset where he afk disguising in enemy's base while his clone does all the works

I've been ripping off the balls of everyone who dares cross my path in my latest playthrough. So yeah you can decimate bloodlines without even killing people.
I do feel the game is a bit too easy to break though, every new character I have to swear off using what made the old character absolutely broken to force myself to try new things.

Qi is what achieves that, that's what the stance is a counter for.

Yes, he needed him to live so that A Fool could emerge. Whether it turned out to be Amon or Klein was still in the air.

Among the works of Jin Yong, I would recommence some notable ones:

Return of the Condor Hero: Sequel to LoCH, mainly a love story.

Ode to Gallantry: Mistake Idenity drama .

A deadly secret: Basically the Count of Monte Cristo but with kungfu

Proud Smilling Wanderer: One of the best novel, political drama about what it mean to be good and evil .

The Deer and the Cauldron: Author last work and is the antithesis of his other work

LotM

man any time someone jerks off a book as hard as this it always turns out to have the most boring fucking prelude to the actual content of the book. I dropped it in the first arc because those first two hundred chapters are so god damn boring

Also most of his roadbumps are bs that no one could think of, shit like make your clone look like someone, then suddenly that someone took over your clone and using your clone to resurrect
That is the problem with making a smart and cautious mc with OP cheat

I, for one, clapped when they made it explicit that the final boss is literally Kong Qiu

Limbus Company
The newest story update is their adaptation of Dreams of the Red Chamber

if that were all that would be tolerable, but it's been compiling up with how he's getting off things consequence free for far too long with resets. I know somethings carries over like the faceless curse but it's been very trivia to get rid of the effects. The mental limit should've been the element used to keep the MC on the back pedal, but now it's stretched to 9999999 and is essentially a non-factor now.

It does look generic, which is why I didn't expect much, but it turned out to be a hidden gem.
The setting is quite dark, even giving some goblin slayer vibes at first (but just that, other than the brutal setting the stories are very different).
It has great character development and unironically some of the best battle scenes I have read in any novel period. And I don't want to understate this, the battle scenes are really good and only get better as the story goes on.
The power system is also quite unique, but I don't have the confidence to describe it in detail without making it sound bad. In execution, let's just say it adds some very interesting elements, with people gaining abilities that are both beneficial and detrimental (or anything in between), and having to find ways of working around those peculiarities as they grow stronger.

I, for one, clapped when they made it explicit that the final boss is literally Kong Qiu

I am expecting a 1 V 1 duel, so you might be right. I'm just hoping the second round has some actual hard, ball busting content that makes winraters cry because its been way too easy lately.

can you answer if MC is a gigantic simp and this is just a harem novel

Okay anon you've sold me, is there a good site where the translation isn't MTL? It isn't mtl.. right? RIGHT?

final boss is Kong Qiu

no? The final boss is very obviously the red team chingchong. Zilu getting an id next week means she dies, which means kong will likely die as well

Wish there were less Wuxia games and more martial arts games like Sifu which isn't even fucking Chinese.

Give me a Jacke Chan fight simulator.

The newest story update is their adaptation of Dreams of the Red Chamber

the pretentious novel that no one cares about

Investiture of the Gods should be in its place in the big 4 classic
Also a game choosing that kind of novel for their story shows that they are the same kind of pretentious poser

There is no videogame logic and it's not wish fulfilment. The protagonist has a real hard time at the start of the story and even later on he
gets fucked over pretty badly on the regular.
If you are referring to the other labyrinth barbarian novel the no, they are nothing alike and this is much better than that garbage.
I am honestly not sure what you are referring to
He is not a simp, if anything he has a lot more bros than he has female friends. There really also isn't a harem as much as two women that are interested in him. This isn't the kind of story where mc runs around with a harem party or anything of that sort.
The story places a lot more focus on male friendship and general comradery than romance, although the latter is there as well. This is a really brutal setting, there is very little room for romantic interactions, especially while in the labyrinth.

Isn't Sleeping Dogs is basically this?

a game choosing that kind of novel

Because dev read it while studying in uni, can't really blame him

that nun

Lawd have mercy

I'm just hoping the second round has some actual hard, ball busting content

I enjoyed the Night Drifter fight, if only because I managed to have Hong Lu not die before it was over
I doubt Part 2 will have that difficulty spike, and if it does, it will probably get nerfed; Part 3 will definitely have some tough fights I think
The start of Part 2 can't be a 1v1 duel, because they already said its faction v faction
If there is a 1v1, its either later in Part 2, or in Part 3

There is absolutely no way the final boss isnt the person completely thematically tied to the Canto. The Red Man Group may have a fight in the Canto, but the main fight between him and Hong Lu wont come till the Destroy-the-Multiverse Reverberation fight at the end of the Inferno
Final Boss will be Kong Qiu in the semi-finals, and then we concede in the finals, with either the Red Man Group winning, or dare I say, Xi Chun actually doesnt die and wins
That, or Hong Lu, realizing his choices actually matter, decides to win and become Hierarch, only to immediately resign as a fuck you to his family so he can go off and Limbab his jade or whatever

didn't he stuck his neck out for some scout girl who got in trouble with the floor's local mob boss just because they partied for a couple hours?

this nigga can't see mt tai lmaooooooo

The only remotely similar thing I can come up with is that he did his best to save the last remaining member of his first party.
But there aren't any floor bosses in the labyrinth, and it was a female human archer not a car girl. He was also close to abandoning her multiple times and even threatened her to do so if she doesn't get her shit together.
They almost killed each other as well because she insisted on risking both of their lives to try to save the other members so I wouldn't say any part of this was even remotely close to simping.
Not to mention the protagonist wouldn't even have helped her if not for needing her help to actually get out of this in one piece, being afraid of the consequences of becoming known that he abandoned his party, and some simple human empathy.
And even then it was made clear multiple times that he would use her as bait to get away if push came to shove.

Kino thread as always

Is this a semi regular thing? Because if so I will have to pay more attention to Anon Babble than I usually do.

unironically the best thread v has seen all week

I'm the OP I'll do 1 a week maybe, some retarded jannies deleted some of my threads.

tsmt v is so good when i copy the same shitposts all day

I guess some of that didn't translate well into the webtoon version then, since that's how I remembered reading it there

Big thanks brother, gonna screenshot this for later while I read A Hero Born

Are you referring to this? Because the one I am talking about is a completely different story

126_o.jpg - 640x853, 117.21K

I love this one.

every new character I have to swear off using what made the old character absolutely broken to force myself to try new things.

sounds pretty fun desu
I was interested in the game but it looked incomplete, might give it a go now

To add to this, the one I posted doesn't have a webtoon adaptation at all

made me appreaciate the dao more than any novels could

does his game counts?

Yi.png - 1024x805, 1.09M

There are a lot of cultivation games
Problem is most of them are either not yet released (devs only started making games by riding the cultivation hype train from tale of immortal release), slop or not known anywhere on the internet (xiuzhen idle falls into this, really underrated gem)

murim

That's just wuxia but Korean, also just worse

ai translations have been a godsend for web novel slop and porn games

MFW that faggot from A Regressor's Tale Of Cultivation starts pity dating the employee he hasn't spoken to in years while his wife is still there.

Mfw the author has the audacity to continue shoving her into the plot in a romantic manner while the protagonist's wife is still there.

Sleeping Dogs is your typical hong kong police flick

Kenshi is a wuxia game.

korean novel

not mtl

after the witch hunting kakao did against all popular fan translators/webnovel aggregators

yeah it was that sloppa, I guess I give yours a go

Well... yeah
Minus godhood

T*iwanese game

FUCK OFF

another junior mistakes wuxia and xianxia

Fuck, you're right

Is this achievable natty?

Admitting your mistakes is the first step to seeing mt tai
You have done well

Xuanhuan

I legitly dont understand how this mt Tai became a meme
I have only seen it mention a few times in renegade immortal, and that is just purely bad writing because there is no mountain called mount Tai in mc's world
Never seen any mention of mt Tai in any other novels outside of that

I still share a board with seething chinks

sad state of affairs

He's looking under the sofa cushions for change

Is this a semi regular thing?

We have them sometimes. Always hit bumplimit.

That's not Unsheathed or The Path Toward Heaven

he needs to pull out superman when a badly arranged room will kill them through ominous feng shui

It can work if it's not in any dialogue parts and in 3rd person

At least with DnD you will typically never see a character with above 20 in a stat, at least in low-level games.

What the fuck are you talking about? level 3 barbarian, starting 18: Rage +4, Enlarge Person +2, Bull's Strength +4. That's 28, and you could easily push it higher.

It's pretty fun. Rare to see anything where the MC doesn't become a glass cannon DEXfag and stacks CON.

DND scaling doesn't work because litrpgs are all about appeasing the primal part of our brains that like to see numbers go higher. The progression in DND is too sparse for that to be effective, at that point you may as well do a traditional cultivation system instead of a LITRPG since even that would give more of a sense of progression than the DND system. It's the worst of both worlds basically

that game had such potential, man...

are there any decent chink wuxia mmo nowadays? I rly liked pwi when I was still in high school
youtube.com/watch?v=LrSt5KdImoY

im-fucking-plying

5E is not the only edition of the game.

4e wasn't much better, although epic destines were cool, the fundamental issue still applies. You may as well do traditional cultivation levels at this point while separating them to early/middle/high/peak.
Other than that, my only experience with 3.5e is pathfinder, which again doesn't solve the problem. Neither does 2e, at least not with my limited experience with it in BG1&2.
The DND system was never meant to be used in a novel. If you want to use it you can, and it will work, but again, at this point you may as well do a traditional cultivation system since it isn't any better really.

There are no good mmos period nowadays.

shifts chair slightly to the left

room flooded with kryptonite feng shui

4E scaled multiple times faster than 5E. It wasn't a slow progression by any means. 3E scaled even faster than that to the point where characters all of 4 levels apart could be in different realms of power.

is magic emperor popular enough to get a game?
it was legit the best read of my life and I'd pay hundreds to be able to control zhuo fan and his fuckload of op abilities

Reaper of the Drifting Moon's first arc was absolute kino, later on it lost a lot of steam, but that first part until his presumed death felt like a complete story, and an amazing one at that

I tried reading the novel but the translation was terrible MTL slop so I just gave up
Mind you I'm not inherently against MTL, but either do your best to edit it well or just fuck off already.

He's looking under the sofa cushions for change

Honestly that’s still more effort than 90% of webtoon MCs put in before some ancient master hands them cheat codes and a harem. At least pretend the climb has stakes, damn.

I just read the manhwa personally. I heard some complaints about the adaptation after he fell to the snake pit concerning some cut content, but I found everything after that pretty mediocre anyway so I didn't care much. Just that first arc alone I feel is a good ending point for the story.

but either do your best to edit it well or just fuck off already.

After SEA found out about AI translation models they have been flooding the internet with unedited poorly done AI MTL that they also paywall.

No, I have no idea.
Also why the fuck are you using Bluesky? Are you mentally ill?

Bro poisoned his sister so that when she dies in ritual sacrifice he can take the body and refine it into a pill

He did nothing wrong

Ok I might actually play this now, is it actually good though?

never heard of it
shill it to me

One of the better chinese games on steam

wuxiaworld novels getting pulled out of novelbin and friends

this shit is so fucking cancer

A lot of characters were simplified and Subaru himself had much of his personality sanded off to make him more generically palatable and self-insertable. Losing his internal monologue and the build up to his breakdowns especially crippled him.

It’s pretty grindy, has some translation issues and you can get the living shit beaten out of you completely out of nowhere.
So it’s pretty much a perfect adaption.

Rim your own crack faggot

to make him more generically palatable and self-insertable

and it worked
god I hate it when slop works
Elden Ring is fromsoft's best selling game while Sekiro barely sold

It's a fun basic SRPG style game where you can make several different kinds of builds using cultivation manuals to unlock techniques.

There are sects for every build type that have their own questlines as well as a overarching plot that has some neat endings .

You will fail your first few playthroughs but each time you do you will unlock more points to build your character with based on what completion objectives you completed before losing.

Joining the drunk old man sect is highly advised for your first playthrough.

kek.jpg - 1920x1080, 193.8K

Eh, sekiro was soulless.
Sure the combat was great, but it lacked all the soul of the dark souls games that came before it.
The setting was also just the usual japanese slop and there was very little customizability.
It and elden ring are just two sides of the same coin.

If you play it, don't ignore the old man. The tutorial sect guides you through your whole playthrough so you don't run like a headless chicken not knowing what to do and quit the game after a couple hours

you leave them... when you want a new one

do I have to

Nope, there is an achievement for harem in the 20s

This game really started to get exhausting on the 3rd zone. It was just the same old grinding for contribution points for books and human enemies are really overtuned on higher difficulties

It's not bad, but it's not as good as it should have been.
Heluo studio never recovered from legal troubles not letting them grow and capitalize on successes of Wulin heroes and Tale of Wuxia

you leave them naked in a hot spring when you want a new one

Is that when you break up with them? Is there an implication of you pimping them out here or am I overthinking it...

damn when did reddit get so based

I could write a dozen of paragraphes on why it is so good but basically the mc is literally the most charismatic character ever
it starts off as the usual isekai shit but the way things are done makes it increadibly satisfying to read
you should really give it a try but the translation for the manhua is rough at the start but if you make it past that you'll get pure kino

I love the interaction that plays out when a righteous mother tries to save her evil child.

I know my child has harmed you unjustly, but do they truly deserve to die for it? Could you find it to show mercy? I'll take responsibility for correcting them.

No. [Execute]

YOU LITTLE SHIT. FUCK THE WORLD OF CULTIVATION. I'LL CHASE YOU TO THE ENDS OF THE EARTH.

You’re still married, you just can’t have them all in your party at once.
When you unlock your own territory, you get a place to leave all your companions for when you need them again.
Personally I just recruit my harem and put any men I come across in the slave mines.

India is a third world slave shithole, rajeesh

yeah but whats it about

Wuchang is coming out in july

Speaking of chickens, also don’t forget to tame the rooster, since he’s the fastest early game mount and you can feed him easily.

I'LL CHASE YOU TO THE ENDS OF THE EARTH.

And they literally mean it. In the last area a parent of a faggot I killed many years ago in 1st area found me.

can they take responsibility by becoming my wife
I want to fuck the evil kid's mom

I was thinking the exact same thing anon...

You kinda gotta respect it.

Did they grow stronger along the way?

main character is a big shot from the sacred domain but everyone gangs up on him because he possesses a scroll with every cultivation techniques from the world
his disciple betrays him but he decide to blow himself up with the scroll rather than giving it up
but in an unexpected turn of events his soul survived and he manage to possesse a random boy from the mortal domain
this boy is a random nobody from a third rate clan, mc wants to abandon his masters but because of a ''heart demon'' (the will of the boy to defend his clan) he can't do that and save them
from here we'll follow him in countless battles and hardships to rise up in status

If I had a spirit stone for every time I tried to resolve karma by banging someone's mom, I'd be in the Nascent Soul realm by now. Honestly though, some of those righteous MILFs are built like final bosses—makes you wanna cultivate dual techniques on the spot.

Sounds about as generic as it gets, that doesn't mean it's bad though, since I have read plenty of generic stuff that was great. But what about this one especially is so great?

They grind levels very very slow because there's no way for them to obtain resources from bosses apart from special cases like auction house or stealing.

Damn, really? About time. I remember seeing the original trailer like 2 years ago and thinking it’d get canceled or silently buried like every other mid-budget Chinese Soulslike. Hopefully they polished the janky animations since the last showcase—combat looked floaty as hell. If it has good gear progression and actual boss variety, I’ll give it a shot.

magic emperor

I read the manhua a long time ago. I don't remember anything good about really, it felt like just any other cultivation manhua slop.
Is the novel any better because if not I don't quite see why you are shilling this so hard

why is there nothing out there as kino as atg? tried countless webnovel sloppas chasing that peak and nothing gets close
and to make matters worse the author writes so slowly the new arc is probably still years away

Isnt this mc a simp (at least his heart demon is)
Lost all interest in reading it after knowing about that

You are just looking back at your first xianxia with rose tinted glasses.
ATG is about generic cultivation slop as you get.

absolute kino, thougb I think some are upset about the monogamy

NTA but there is actually a single kino moment in ATG, that is setup throughout hundreds of slop chapters and arcs
Now whether it is worth it or not depends on each person
desu that kino moment reminds me of korean drama 20 years ago

I'm tempted to re-read it again. Though I know it will never be the same as the first time.

first for me was martial world or CD i think? i didnt read atg until much later
not sure why it sticks out to me so much either. it’s generic but the world building and characters are great and more memorable to me than any other novel

I stopped ATG when the MC stopped any pretense of using his brain and courted death constantly. If I wanted mindless aggression I'd just read MGA.

I tried to read countless cultivation stories but I always dropped them before getting to the 10th chapter because it was the same shit harem/power of friendship shit
here things are different
first the story actually takes advantage about mc being a reborn expert showcasing countless abilities that are cool as fuck
second the world building is amazingly done, the different factions all feel threatening and add something to the story instead of the usual bad guys vs good guys placeholders
third and this is the best part imo is that the conflicts and different developpements are genuinely interesting, seeing mc interact with different people, befriending some or fighting some perfectly showcase his personality
there is also a lot of mind battle, not everything is resolved through brute force
the beginning is rough but when it starts going it's really awesome, novel and manhua are equal in my opinion
calling him a simp is not understanding the story

is there a place to read it that doesnt have the gat limited chapters/premium currency shit
hate how that's becoming more popular in the web novel community

he uses his brain in the latest arcs which was a nice change

he has only read it once

grim. i read it first in 2020, then again in late 2021, then again in mid 23, then again last december. on my 4th reread, i only got to chapter ~500 before i started skipping chapters and eventually quit after reading the arcs i wanted to read. takes about a month of reading ~5-10 hours a day.

World building in xianxia is always at least better than average because the author doesnt need to do shit, they just need to copy-paste from ancient China's cultural history (which they rarely do 100% because that is just too much, at most they just copy-paste 40-60% of it in better novels)
Also I have never once seen power of friendship in any cultivation novels, do you mistake cultivation with isekai or something? At most it is usually my master is better than your master
Your third point is also generic. All cultivation including slop does this. Wuxia even does this better because the low power ceiling, forcing the MC to befriend people and create force, instead solo the entire universe

What's that?

The reveal in around chapter 1800-1900 I think

Martial World has power of friendship suicide win the decisive battle before easily mopping up the post story because the author wants to rush the ending due to starting another story.

I never liked the potion chugging system, made everything too linear and predictable.
Also for a series and setting entirely revolving around how incredibly dangerous cultivation is, no one ever has any issues cultivating because the whole thing is completely invalidated right at the start by literal deux ex machina(a literal god wrote down exact perfect instructions that always work and have no risks)
The existence of high sequence beyonders itself is proof that you don't actually have to worry at all about anything aside from resource scarcity/gatekeeping. Would have been much better if everyone was using the previous old god system where no one knew how the fuck magic worked and everyone at the top got their through unique, usually insanely dangerous and permanently disfiguring, methods.
At the very least the mental effects should be MUCH stronger and not some minor side note that's mostly ignored and easily suppressed by the main characters. A capital C Clown should be COMPELLED to do retarded shit for no reason, it should be an active struggle to not be funny to the degree it's legitimately life ruining.

I mean you CAN do that to integrate the potions quicker but you lose your own will. That was the entire point of acting the part and Gods shifting to symbolism, to stave off personality death. You could grow stronger quicker if you didn't care about that but you would just end up absorbed into the will of an outer god.

My Longevity Simulation

translator dropped it years ago, for another series he also dropped years ago

mtl is actually unreadable gibberish

Just when things were finally starting to get interesting again.
Why don't more xiaxia settings go into cosmology? It's the best part of the setting when space isn't just a vacuum and god is literally a shooting star who will come down and smack your shit for spying on him with a telescope.

I dropped Martial world around when the "young maser" of another universe who is few thousand years old show up
Shit is just ridiculous at that point

any recs like atg? been trying to enjoy er gen lately but I just can’t, same with iet

Why don't more xiaxia settings go into cosmology?

You just expose yourself as barely reading any xianxia
Most xianxia do this, including slop like Against the gods and Martial peak

You actually ask people to recommend something like slop?
I guess shit like martial peak and nine star hegemon body art would suit your taste

The reveal in around chapter 1800-1900 I think

linear and predictable

What made the cultivation great were the rituals needed for advance sequences.

good thread everyone, got some recs, and don't forget to do your homework before the next one
mandatory reading 3000 chapters of sloppa, due by next week

Thunderbolt fantasy?

In my last playthrough I just made a base character with no pristine birthright and I'm still whooping serious ass with an unarmed drunken master build

desu the only unique thing about ATG I like to add is the dynamic interaction between harem members of the mc (especially considering the history between some of them)
I found it unironically more enjoyable as slice of life than the mc courting death sloppa

finally someone gets it. thank u

The author should stop writing cultivation and write SoL or something like Date a Live instead desu

you might be right. although the setting is a big part of why it’s interesting imo.

date a live

Idk about that since I can’t stand jp mcs. is it good?

It is not
I just mention it as an example setting

try novelbin, the site that is
I said again, I've read the entirety of it twice
