Combat is extremely mediocre for a game that seems to want you to constantly be fighting monsters. A somehow worse version of Oblivion's combat
Enemies respawn when you re-enter rooms. Not resurrect, just new random pack of enemies spawn. I literally started avoiding fights near the end, since it's just a waste of time. And avoiding them takes absolutely no skill.
99% of enemies are slower than you and stop in their tracks to deal damage. So you can just outwalk them while spamming heavy attack.
It's the same story with bosses too. All bosses. I didn't even spend time learning their attack patterns, I just strafed around them while spamming left click and killed all of them in one try in less than a minute.

I bought it but haven't had the time to play more than trying out the tutorial. Not sure if KB&M or controller is the way to go.

The bathhouse has an awful gimmick which forces you to backtrack through the same handful of rooms like 6 times

The status effects are so weak they feel bugged

The game keeps throwing you weapons but its design incentivizes you to stick to a single one (upgrade system, lack of quick swapping)

The talismans feel weak as fuck

I still had fun, but man it has a lot of wasted potential

Longer, unless you use a guide. The first one took me 13 hours. KF2 I stopped playing at 6 hours and sure as hell didn't feel like I was near the end.

The setting and general vibes are great, but the combat isn't the best, and you already know what to expect after the first tower. Also, the English texts and dialogues feel really off - either they have been written by an ESL or by a native speaker who doesn't know his own language well.

The Demon King was a huge disappointment, I was expecting something much scarier and harder, and instead got a slow fat guy with a few silly lines

Lunacid was fun. Making a crossbow build and maxing out speed and jump just turned the game into Tribes which was awesome. I pirated it once I found out the dev was a troon though, never supporting those freaks with my hard earned money

can't advance text, every time I examine or get a mini-cutscene I have to wait for the game to take the text off screen

it keeps unequipping my sword between areas and there's no quick key to re-equip it (1 just uses your healing, lol)

when you run for too long you don't slow down, you just stop dead like you've hit an invisible wall, until you let go of shift

minor issues:

dark as fuck even after I got a torch

big ass empty area with lots of non-functional doors when I'm just trying to get to the meat of the stupid demo so I can decide if I like the game

the tutorial pop ups that explain the controls are a horrible mismatch for the visual tone of the game

your dialogue responses don't update until the moment they become clickable, meaning you could be trying to click on "next" and advance before you see what the actual response is

It needs work, and if the reports of dying having no consequence are true, it needs a LOT of work. Some of these issues are ridiculous and should not be occurring in a commercial product..It speaks of laziness or incompetence.
I also suspect it's a little too expensive for what it is, but whatever, fix your game and I'll probably buy it

it's quite mediocre. the trailer sold me on it and then playing it unsold me very quickly.
the cool visual style is largely the result of filters slapped on top and it looks much worse in-game. the attempt at a PS1 aesthetic doesn't land at all - it feels like a modern unreal engine game with some inconsistently sized crusty textures and out of place bloat like cloth physics on the banners which sometimes spazz out when you load into a scene. hitting an enemy up close and seeing a stock HD blood particle effect just makes the whole thing seem lazy when the game is built around combat.
the movement feels very stock UE to the point that it plays more like Condemned than anything in the actual genre it's aping.
the presentation is absolutely all over the place. the opening text crawl is inches away from achieving the atmosphere it's attempting but poor writing and an amateurish choice of font kills it. the huge hub area full of identical dummy doors was a poor choice, as was introducing the sword in the same area as a flimsy tattered paper wall which the sword bounces off like it's solid wood. the poor choices just continue from there.
