I think weapon crafting was probably better and having a full roster of characters is better than a single, boring protagonist. Also, the story is somehow even more retarded but not in a funny way like before. Who do you voodoo bitch, and such.
Nevertheless, Drying is definitely the better game overall even if it's not a straight upgrade in every single sense. The movement is great, the story missions are more unique, the night time chases are way more exciting than the infected zones, and the combat is much better because you have more moves that don't spend your durability and are just cool. It's the better game for sure.

I played it on gamepass and it was shit. Infinitely respawning zombies makes it a chore to move around. Combat was worse than Dying Light, characters are unlikable with millennial dialogue and quips, looting is unrewarding and maps are mostly linear.
Maybe not games, but they do give out features. Steam input, Proton, forums, workshop, game recording, etc. They could easily use some shitty drm so you can only use those features in games you've bought on Steam. Instead, you can buy your games anywhere else you want, add them to Steam and enjoy the best controller support on the market, the ability to use the superior OS with no difficulty and not having to install some other software to do a lot of secondary tasks. I'd much rather have these features than the occasional crumb of free games. If I want free games I'll just pirate instead of letting a massive company decide which free game I get to play.
