The DC was banking entirely on being a good 90's/early 00's arcade port monster at a time when arcades were about to see a serious decline due to consoles more than catching up to them, I just don't see it lasting more than a year longer with the PS2 out of the way. Also the later 360 was a far more normalfag attracting console than the PS2 and set the standard for faggots just playing CoD on mic all day which is still the norm for them. I'd also add that we have a clear established pattern of behavior from MS to take the greediest/stupidest route no matter what:

Add in the fact that a good 5.1 setup requires a fuckton of space, even more so than a desktop PC setup and you will understand why good surround sound support is underrated.

Getting 5.1 out of an Xbox is a piece of work to begin with. You needed the separately sold, rather rare HD AV pack which gave you TOSLINK and component video out. These days you have better options, but even these new options like Xbox2HDMI/ElectronXout have been out merely a few years.

Grandia 2 is a great game but a few things stop me from liking it more. Mostly the way everyone goes their own way after the story. So much of the story focuses on Elena realizing her journey with Ryudo is a finite thing and that makes her sad. After their journey ends, she just accepts that. They all drift apart. I think they drift apart because the game couldn't have Ryudo choose Elena or Millennia. They couldn't have him choose either. He chooses no one and they all go their own separate ways.
