I dont always play Morrowind, but when I do, I don't want decent light armor

YOU NEVER SHOULD HAVE COME HERE
DIE! N'WAH!

he doesn't use a mod to delay the attacks

you didn't beat the game

new to morrowind, shill me on why I should use mwse or openmw

the only anons not using openmw are deep into very specific modpacks.

openmw is easier to set up and generally runs better
mwse has more cool mods

if you're new to the game you don't have to worry about it, just play the game normally

Do you like random crashes?

Uncheck tribunal and bloodmoon data files until you've beaten/got bored of the main game.

no

qt.jpg - 638x477, 86.11K

i don't think there's any reason to play vanilla with that fucked up resolution.

This is probably unironically the intended way considering they likely expected you to get the expansions after you finished main game

OpenMW is better for more vanilla styled playthroughs. It has better performance, loading times, stability, etc.
MWSE's advantage is possessing currently more advanced lua capabilities. You use it to add new game mechanics and more complex changes that OpenMW isn't able to do as of yet.

dont

don't

Kill yourself

It's stable and doesn't need to be hacked to pieces with a bunch of external tools to do LOD (which makes the original game run even worse and be even less stable)
the only mods that don't work with it are old versions of weird ones that change the game so much a new player shouldn't be bothering with them anyway

How the fuck do you go fast without massive cheese early on
I just made a 1 sec jump spell to just hulk my way around as fortify speed shit are just too expensive at points and durations that matter

All the mods that make Morrowind way better for me are MWSE only. Ashfall camping is MWSE only and always will be, Crafting (which adds like 10 RuneScape style crafting skills to level) is MWSE only, PvP (which adds dodge and parry mechanics) is MWSE only.

The game legitimately isn't even good without MWSE mods. And I've never had more than one crash in 30+ hours despite using dozens of MWSE mods

Can you give me your list of must-have MWSE mods for "fun"

use your gold to train alteration, use jump spells. You will progress through various stages of jump and levitate kino as you go.

game bad because it's not some modern craftingslop

MGE XE

How do you make money without selling every single possible thing ever to the creeper and the mudcrab?

don't Kill yourself

thanks

I've never had more than one crash in 30+ hours

more stable than OpenMW, faggots will ignore this

Morrowind is only good when it's a survival crafting game

Bad bait.

by doing the same thing and selling random glass daggers to merchants, sure you get only 1/10th of their worth but its still enough to be rolling in gold

You don't need to. Morrowind is perfectly playable without any mods.

Arguably the only mod that you should look into is the expansion delay mod. The game really should have had that from the beginning.

Now that I think about it, are any of the factions actually economically rewarding when you do quests?
IIRC mages guild is great as you get a fuck ton of books and crap without having to steal them just lying around

can't even sell it to a merchant because they'll wear the armor ruining your immersion

can't sell it to Creeper because he pays full price so you have to sit there waiting 24 hours over and over again to sell each piece

cat-crying.gif - 372x262, 1.72M

You either go for the boots or take to the skies.

How the fuck does the actual math of selling shit work in this game anyways
I get that general goods/pawnshops pay jackshit compared to people who actually buy and sell the thing you're selling specifically but there has to be a way to make others buy stuff for a good amount too

can't even sell it to a merchant because they'll wear the armor ruining your immersion

There's an OpenMW setting in the launcher to fix that.

Fortify skill glitch athletics (IIRC) to 100. But it's still going to be slightly slower than the boots of blinding speed.

Sell price is modified by disposition and the NPC's mercantile (lower is better)

Enchant a ring like this.

ring.png - 405x210, 44.34K

Its a combination of:
Speechraft
Disposition
Mercantile
Personality
Luck
and fatigue
Unless you are averaging at 80 in those, its generally not worth the effort. If low level, the most you can do is stack a few 100 bribes to bring them up to +90 and don't forget to check your green bar

Early on

How are you affording this early on

OOEEEEERGHHHHHH

I'm mostly just looking for for graphic and animation mods and anything that might slow down the power creep that I hear about

Just reduce the level of the Jump enchant to something you can afford. That one is more for leaping to Elsweyr in a single bound.

The gimp suit is so much better than the PJs in oblivion and skyrim

OpenMW is not Morrowind. It is not a perfect recreation of the engine. Get code patch, patch for purists, and mge xe.

Yeah my next playthrough I'm not looting them, not using the scamp, not using the crab.

I don't get this criticism of MWSE. I use it and think I've had the game crash maybe once in 200 hours?

It's good enough

For getting shit enchanted by people, ehat reduces the price apart from the obvious wit the level of enchants

The openMW vs MWSE "argument" is mostly regurgitated opinions flung back and forth between people who don't play video games.

Mercantile, and I think disposition

At no point can you go fast without cheese, or you can fix the game entirely and never worry about these retards screeching about how "you're supposed to break the game with magic!"

You can use magic to become invincible too but that's not fun, neither is using magic to go super fast. It gets boring and stupid after like 5 minutes. Sorry I just want to have the option of.....moving at a normal rate of speed without using cheat magic.

You don't get the choice to walk or run in Morrowind, you get the choice to crawl or walk and at end game you can fly. Those are your choices. Forgive me if I want to be able to walk at a normal speed instead of crawling everywhere and or jumping across the map.

It also ruins combat because unlike the player, enemy NPCs don't lose fatigue for running, they will run after you across the entire island without breaking a sweat.

Everything in this post Make yourself a spell that fortifies Personality and Mercantile by 100 for 1 sec, that should drastically cut down on enchanting costs. Also make sure to always rest to full fatigue before any major transaction, not just when enchanting.

By fixing the game I mean simply grabbing a no fatigue run mod, that one simple change makes the first 10 hours or Morrowind 1000x better and anyone that disagrees is literally, unironically autistic

Creeper has 5000 gold. The total set of DB armor is worth 3200. The fuck are you talking about 24hr for each piece? It's not fucking glass armor.

he uses mods

you didn't beat the game

OpenMW is not Morrowind.

You're right, it's better. It's what Morrowind should have been

spell that fortifies Personality and Mercantile by 100 for 1 sec

Arent barters and stuff like enchant windows still real time?

Haha no
Unless you have a mod that does so

Damn, I'm on openmw and my dialogues are real time

You probably have something like that Dynamic Actors mod

O-oh yeah I do...
I thought that mod did other crap

In Morrowind was Unarmored. Can donig mage class or hand to hand class

I'm using the open mw total overhaul mod list, but I'd like to have nude bodies so I can strip dead enemies naked and relish in perverse lust over their humiliating demise. Is that possible or do a single mod change break the config ?

what body mod does it use? You should be able to just reinstall that mod and chose the nude body in the fomod.

why did they add these characters into the game? i understand they were meant to be part of one of the expansions, but surely bethesda could see how making them attack the player at level 1 and giving you nearly infinite money was a bad idea for new players?

it also makes very little sense, why would the dark brotherhood have a contract against a level 1 nobody who just got off a boat and is unknown to everybody?

Bethesda used to make their own mods for the game

one of them added female boobplate versions of armors

what went wrong?

76 hours into current Morrowind playthrough

Suddenly game starts crashing a lot or doing strange things like black screen using mage teleport services

There's another character down the drain. Maybe next time I play I'll try OpenMW again instead of MGXE and see if that helps at all.

Playing a mage

Go unarmored

Find a CE light armor cuirass that boosts my intelligence and spell absorption

FUCK. It's too good not to use.

Man, you really aren't being subtle about this are you?

The data directories tab of the launcher is basically the MO2’s virtual folder system. If you already have the nude ver when you first setup the modlist then maybe it’s possible to just delete the current path to the normal version and append the path to the naked version in place.

mwse is better as of 2025
openmw if you only care about basic mods and vanilla experience

kek

? I don't really have a preference for either if anything I've been using MGXE in the last year because of stuff like Ashenfall or Cyrodilic vampires which don't work particularly well (at all rather) in OpenMW. It's just ever since the Narsis update hit my game has felt a lot less stable so I might as well try OpenMW again since ti's been 2-3 years since I last bothered.

Oh I wonder if this post was made in good faith at all, considering it describes an experience at odds with most other peoples and seems to be implying the astroturfed alternate way of playing is better.
I wonder if we'll ever know!

you were right to post a cat because you sound like a goddamn pussy

Unironically take your meds faggot

You can only take a part of the armor. For example, Arognians and Khajiit cannot wear closed helmets and boots.

You aren't fooling anyone.

300 hours into a morrowind save

character levels up

go to sleep

game crashes

all saves erased

PC bluescreens

I'm never using MWSE again. It's so unstable and clunky. Fellow MWSE bros: it's over.

Uh oh uppity
Are you Dagoth?

Actually amazing how some guy lives rent free in your heads

I would sacrifice all of you retards in a bloody ritual if it meant PT's Argonia project starting for real

Get the Nimble Armor mod for the true Unarmored experience. It makes unarmored into a Dodge chance ability (modulated by a permanent Sanctuary spell). It gives it to you and enemies. Combined with the PvP mod it results in a relatively good fix of the issue of combat becoming extremely trivial by level 15 for all but the end game enemies.

With PvP+Unarmored you can have good fun fights against even low level cave outlaws as long as they have a decent weapon and high unarmored skill which many do.

These two mods linked below + no fatigue run is the simplest way to improve the combat massively and can be turned on and off in seconds without any issues (
No fatigue is necessary because otherwise you will run out of fatigue dodging and moving in seconds while enemies don't because they don't use fatigue to run like the player
nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/51034
nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/48251

If you add no other mods but these and no fatigue run it makes the game at least twice as good as vanilla

project starts

there's nobody left to make or play it and it collapses before even a single release comes out

Good job

Calling out your bullshit isn't you living rent free in our heads. It's just people being tired of your shit and pointing out your shitty attempts at causing drama.

Do you recommend the entire 4NM gameplay overhaul?

The fact that people are even entertaining the idea that this is an issue for people today, as though a delayed expansion mod hasn't been essentially default for DECADES at this point is insane.
Bethesda should have made it so they only come at a point far into the main quest but they didn't so we have a mod to fix it.

Like I posted before (might have been in another thread yesterday) - the fact that Morrowind is still discussed and rated based on its vanilla version despite the fact that mods have fixed dozens of problems and have been essentially standard for DECADES now is insane.

If you're not playing Morrowind with basic fucking mods like Expansion delay and Patch for Purists and Unofficial Bug Fix and stuff like that....then you're playing the game objectively wrong.

Stop playing the game wrong then complaining about problems that only exist while playing the game wrong

I know your IQ is lower than the amount of posters in the thread but I'm not the same guy trying to shill OpenMW 24/7 because I prefer the script based mods that MGXE/MWSE provides. I'm just lamenting losing the main focus of my last few weeks of effort and contemplating whether or not I'll try OpenMW when I work up the motivation for this game in like, 5-6 months. Who knows maybe my next character then will not have a single issue and I won't bother switching since I don't really feel like re downloading openmw and moving my shit around if I don't have to.

Patch for "Purists"

You're the one playing the game wrong.

I've never tried it but in general no because you can download the parts you like from it and craft your own experience. I use N'wah shooter for archery and fast cast for spell casting and Shields up for active blocking, all those can be found separately from the same modder.

So my full combat mod set up from that modder who made 4N combat is - PvP, Shields up, Nimble armor, N'wah shooter, fast cast (forget the name but it makes the animation faster based on your speed stat).

No fatigue run is necessary too otherwise you can't dodge after like 5 seconds of combat, with it the game feels like dark souls but faster, in a good way.

There are some truly amazing other mods in 4N that I would like to try someday like the Combo Master mod but for now I'm happy with what I have and it's worked perfectly for me from beginning to end game now 30+ hours in

If you're not playing with "X" you're playing the game objectively wrong

I just use Legion armor because I'm too lazy to keep reequipping it

OpenMW is not Morrowind. It is not a perfect recreation of the engine

Good

joining the legion

why?

it's based

I don't think I've bothered joining the legion in at least 6-8 years is the TR stuff for it good?

Yes if you're not patching a 20+ year old game without fixes that have been around for 20 years you're objectively playing the game wrong.

they're colonialist occupiers oppressing a dark skinned people

they're based based based based based based based

Yes.

only based if you play as a female and get that nipple armor

Buddy, the Telvanni sent a little nigga to grow a mushroom in one of their forts and they didn't do shit about it.
The Empire are bitches who aren't actually doing anything to enforce any laws or treaties.

feel rich with my 30k gold

buy glass armor

Annnd it's gone.

get fucked s'wit

morrowind has the best spell making mechanic out of all of the elder scrolls games

buying armor

lol

you don't enchant it?

better nude bodies mod

I miss planet elder scrolls

I'm doing TR content on the hardest difficulty and shit keeps one shotting me. I was desperate for it. Had to haul my happy ass back to Ghostgate in Vvardenfell so those buyoant homos could sodomize my wallet.

spending money for gear

What are you, poor?

paralyze

sneak

steal everything

cast super friends spell

do you even know how to play morrowind, OP?

Gonna eat a nice dunmer approved lunch, hard boiled eggs dipped in siracha.

this weird thing just levitate by and killed everyone with lighting

EATING MY KWAMA EGG OMELETTE
I GOT A LOT ON MY PLATE

Ok apparently the black screens consistently happen ONLY when traveling to Andothren's mages guild hall via teleport services. I can walk to the guildhall by foot and entering it loads in just fine but using that teleporter is no good. I can't seem to replicate the experience with any other guild hall between the Firewatch connections, Vavardenfell connections, PT areas and whatnot so I have no idea what the fuck is going on with that one. At least that's one mystery partially solved

that's a thunderstorm, s'wit

What should I be enchanting my armor with?

shh that was me

that's up to you

Charm cast on touch.

I put max level Fortify Strength on everything and I wish there was something different so I could change it up. But it's just too good. It's carry capacity, damage, fatigue, and movement speed all in one. I can't pass it up.
I guess constant restore fatigue 2-3 points is a nice QoL too.

morrowind has double the armor of oblivion and skyrim. utilize them

What for? Dodging is an accidental hit. In dark souls, a somersault is responsible for dodging. In morowind, the best shield is just an automatic parry.

That can't happen. We never had any bug. In fact no bug was ever patched because there was none to begin with. Anon is clearly delusional, get him to a shrine.

Depends on your build.

the best shield

the beat shield is over powered magic

A bug report? That's interesting, Anon. I'd like to interview you more about this, so we can work on fixing it. Come with me to the Ministry of Truth.

30k

Rich

I felt poor when I was sitting at 57k. Went to try to enchant a ring and the enchanter decided her services were going to be a meager 150k

I had over 3 million gold stacked in one room at the corner club when my game broke.

Nice. You gotta be constantly changing the difficulty to suit yourself best. I even got some mods that let you change it more specifically (making it harder for yourself but not the enemies or vice versa)

It just works very well with other mods to create a very fast paced and intense combat experience with even lower level enemies. With the PvP mod that adds parrying it's almost like you're in a swashbuckling pirate fight any time you encounter a regular guy with a sword.

Both the party and dodging mods apply to enemies as well as yourself of course

Same, I love bringing the boot of the empire down on dungmer, I wonder if TR is going to implement any Blades questlines or content for a similar style of RP, so far there's maybe 3 Blades trainers on the mainland that don't do anything.

Actually I think I've finally figured it out. Narsis update changed Andothren's name to Bal Foyen and every building in the town is now renamed to Bal Foyen. The mages guild teleport services still call it Andorthren however which makes me wonder if it's attempting to send me to the old Andothren mage guild hall cell which no longer "exists" since it's been renamed, causing the effect.

Indoril ruins west of the river inhabited by ghosts and (usually) friendly daedra

the Indoril ghosts all have a massive hateboner for the hlaalu

Quite kino dungeon desu

It has a funny Morag Tong quest linked to it involving killing one of the ghosts who iirc the Tong says is just gonna come back again someday so you're really just putting him back to sleep a decade or two

You can't put anything good on gauntlets or pauldrons tho

My Temple Patriarch character made his home there. When Indoril will be playable I will definitely use that place again because it's great.

Looks like a BDSM dungeon gimp.

Don't forget the secret scroll from there.

OpenMW is for "purists", because it doesn't have wide compatibility with the majority of mods. So it's mostly for the people who consider "Vanilla+" to be all they want out of modding.

If you really want to get into extra content, scripted mods, or things that really get in and play with the structure of the game to create a new or fresh experience? Gotta use base Morrowind unfortunately.

I figured this out blind and when I realized what the scroll was for I shit bricks.

Got the bug to play Morrowind again.

I've played it 100 times before, long enough and enough playthroughs over the years that probably half of the mods I loved having no longer exist and have been lost to time.

Base game is fine, I have no problem doing a vanilla run or at least start, but I always crave some sort of new way to experience the game.

On Wabbajack, find a pack called Outlander, it looks interesting.

It actually is really interesting when installed, because it gives tons you custom scripted options for character backstory that change how you start, where in the world you start (including TR locations), and what stuff you start with.

Despite all of this, it's super unstable, and hard to really call it playable without lots more fixes and releases.

Shame.

The big monocle makes me think of something out of Jak and Daxter.

Just make it yourself, don't use fucking bloatware modpacks made by retards. What exactly is it from that list you want?

surely bethesda could see how making them attack the player at level 1 and giving you nearly infinite money was a bad idea for new players?

yes, they could

I've never had good luck with Wabbajacks personally regardless of the game. Last month I got the urge to play Oblivion again and used some Wabbajack that added a ton of shit but it also hard crashed every 30 min or so.

God bless the dark brotherhood for supplying me with a steady supply of money early game

Sleep in Fighter's Guild bunk bed

Assassin wakes you up

He spawned clipped into the bunk bed and can't move

Out. Fucking. Skilled.

be Emperor

have shady connections all over Tamriel

hire the Dark Brotherhood to send their weakest shittiest recruits to "kill" you over and over

a foolproof untrackable way of sending you funds

Emperor, King, and justice.

black

big lips

crack eyes

what did they mean by this

Dark Brotherhood fucking SCAMMED him

not him but it's just easier to download a list close to what you want and then edit it from there

Emperor

Helseth's not the emperor.

I've never actually got into Tribunal. Who the fuck is sending the assassins? That god-whore?

Helseth, because he knows you're the Nerevarine and thinks you're a threat to his power.

That's a nice ring you have there, King Helseth

[quicksaves]

Tribunal has SSE

But you have to slog through ALL Of Tribunal to get to SSE

i don't know about mwse but openmw has an option to grey out dialogue options you've already selected

isn't using the pickpocket mod to steal it off him and then never use it

It's fairly short and you get a great sword off it. Then you can enjoy SSE.

Mushrooms are cool, you would keep it too

No way dude, you can easily download and install like 50 mods in an hour or less and when you do it that way it's infinitely easier to make it perfect for your specific tastes.

every tribunal redo outside of it is shit

inventory isn't full of 5000 mudcrab meat, 5000 small kwama eggs, and a full set of stolen grandmaster alchemy equipment ready to convert everything into potions of restore fatigue to sell for the next month in-game time

Do you even exploit?

you can easily download and install like 50 mods in an hour

Only if you're already experienced and know what mods to look for. There's heaps of trash to dig through before you can find good mods, you can't just download the most popular ones.

What about Creeper is an exploit?

what about a merchant unaffected by mercantile skill is an exploit?

I just go to the categories and sort by most downloaded and install what looks cool desu. If I have something I want I Google "what I want Morrowind mod" and that often works.

Mostly just checking top downloads/endorsements in each category though.

That is most definitely a basic feature of like Morrowind Code Patch or something used by everyone. I can't see how you wouldn't have that enabled with even the most basic mods

It's a UI Expansion feature

I have 90+ mods running on MO2 and I do not get crashes. I haven’t even ever used MLOX/or bash patch, I just took a weekend and really took my time in the order I installed the mods/archives/follow instructions.

The fact that you can actually get more money than an object is worth by buffing mercantile skill with a spelland selling it to a real merchant, whereas creeper only ever. The fact that he's in the game and is intended to be sold to, therefore it's not an exploit like say, abusing alchemy to boost stats to obscene levels (devs didn't intend for you to do this) or using the soul trap glitch for permanent spell effects(classic exploit using a bug in coding to make the game behave in ways it wasn't meant to).

Yeah it's very confusing to hear people say OpenMW is best for "stability". I've never had any issues with game stability, I don't understand what these people are doing to have stability issues.
If OpenMW ever crashes at all then that's a problem lol

put slowfall on a seperate ring.
you can make the rings yourself with around 40-50 enchant and either a bunch of soulgems or save scumming.

whereas creeper only ever.

Whereas creeper only ever gives max value

what is SSE

Sotha Sil Expanded

It's not that I disagree, it's that I am wise enough to use fatigue potions. The mod would be extra af

light armor in the game is really crap, so they added a decent set of light armor. the expansion also padded out medium armor a bit more.

Skyrim Special Edition
In his quest to get it onto every device in existence, Todd the Godd snuck Skyrim into every download of Morrowind GOTY

I intent to exploit the freak out of alchemy to craft my usual constant enchantments. I just want to roam the island, explore Tamriel and read the books. Kinda bummed I lost my saves from five years ago (pic related)

if you didn't beat the game in 300 hours then you deserve it

Thank you for reminding me to install the mod that delays this retarded shit. Breaks the whole early game.

delayed expansion mod hasn't been essentially default

you didn't beat the game, cuck

Always use best attack = off
Beast race
Medium Armor
No alchemy
No Amulet of Shadows
No Apprentice or Atronach birthsigns
No bound equipment spells
No creature merchants
No custom enchantments
No custom spells
No Mark, Recall, Divine Intervention, or Almsivi Intervention
No selling Dark Brotherhood assassin armor + delayed expansions mod
No other mods
No taunting
No training

he stops playing when he beats the game

Oh look it's this autist again

armor

You didn't beat the game.

openmw has tes3mp if you want to play with friends, mind you the version it is on is a bit dated, but I have a server right now with a friend, TR and ton of other comfy mods, been playing through it the past 2 weeks, the new city alone consumes all the hours

Not installing a mod to keep unarmored at level 1 eternally.

no bikini armor mod for morrowind

shit game

How does Narsis run in OpenMW?

mwse or openmw

None. All the mods you need are the following:

-Better Bodies

Better Heads

Galsiah’s Character Development

Morrowind Unofficial Patch

Better textures

More Money for Merchants

This just sounds like you're trying to turn Morrowind into a gimped Daggerfall. Also

no taunting

What does that mean?

instead of being attacked twice in the first 10 hours you will instead be attacked once in 10+ hours

ok

I did beat the game.

There is a million biki armor mods for morrowind wtf are you talking about

its odd, sometimes it can be low, but it around 30fps desu, you get used to it fast due to how much shit there is to just take in, exploring alone could take days, its like a thieves wetdream

Headcanon is that DB is just on top of the fact Emperor had you specifically come to Morrowind under the pretense of fulfilling prophecy, so they send assassins. Alternatively I like your premise, earned funds.

bosmer

n'warghhh.png - 714x574, 88.01K

why is this forest goop elf giving Lord Vivec a handy jay?

You were saying, dungmer?

Cannibal barbarian

>no taunting

What does that mean?

Are you stupid?

Mostly just checking top downloads/endorsements in each category though.

Easy way to get crap like 100% hit chance. I'm telling you, people who are new or just have not being paying attention to the modding scene are not going to get a decent setup without external help. Nexus is a shit platform for newcomers.

The taunt dialogue option lets you freely kill any NPC in the game without incurring a bounty.

Taunt Success

Perhaps I will end yours!

Oh right, I forgot about that dumb mechanic cuz it never even works for me. Is it because my speech and charisma are too high or whatever? Any time I negotiate it's just throwing money at people.

Can you not read? Why would anyone install 100% hit chance mod unless they wanted it? You really think what I meant by that comment was simply downloading the #1 downloaded mod in each category with a second thought? How daft are you?? You gotta read the description and see if you want it first, duh.

This shit never takes fewer than 700 clicks btw

I think that an NPC that developers deliberately put in a place, with no mercantile skill, and the ability to barter, is not comparable to developers missing an obvious flaw in code or game systems that allows a character to achieve a feat.

It's cheesy, but you can hardly argue that someone on Bethesda didn't specifically make Creeper and put it there.

He doesn't use a hotkey macro

just read all the first 1000 mods descriptions to get maybe 50 good ones out of it while knowing nothing about the game!

No, in fact that should make it easier to taunt. You need multiple successes in a row and your target must have disposition that isn't too low also, which sometimes results in a humorous situation where your taunt has dropped their disposition to 0 and you need to bribe them to taunt them again.

You DO have to admire/bribe them for it to work. Taunting builds up their aggression, but it also lowers their disposition, so you have to alternate between taunting and admiring/bribing for them to actually attack you.
It does work very well if you have high Speechcraft. Taunting the infinitely respawning Ordinators and selling their shit is one of the fastest ways to earn money in the game.

Go play the vanilla engine for 5 minutes and then go play OpenMW. You’ll stick with OpenMW.

directions clear
sticking to MWSE

while knowing nothing about the game!

Why would you download mods at that point?

I only turn on best attack if I'm using spears.

In short, speechcraft is retarded, yes.
Raising Mercantile by 15 does make a visible difference, but raising speechcraft by 30 does almost nothing, it sucks.
Cast Frenzy and be happy.

Not the mudcrab that has double the amount of gold

You failed already please delete your character and your existence

more stable x64bit engine and makes some nice adjustments like hand to hand scales with strength

Speechcraft makes taunts more effective, not less.

I can kill anyone and walk scot free in less than 10 clicks.

Mercantile greatly helps the bigger the money sums are. It's % based so try praying to the temple shrine for that +10 mercantile before enchanter services.

This information is very valuable....
I suddenly want to pay that Buyoant bitch who charged me outrageous prices for glass armor a little visit...

I hope ES6 has birthsigns back. I wanna be an altmer wizard with the atronach, because thats my home

Except the dev that put in Creeper explicitly called it a gold exploit and that he didn’t intend for it to be like that.

And Creeper, the big gold exploit. I had lost a bet to one of my best friends, and I told him I’d put him in the game, and he was a drummer, so I put him in as a scamp merchant. And I didn’t tell anybody, because nobody told anybody anything — we just did stuff. And it turned out that it just completely broke the economy of the game, because scamps shouldn’t have been able to be merchants. Sometimes you did stuff, and sometimes it broke things, and sometimes you didn’t find out until after the game shipped. That was one of those.

you can just keep taunting forever and eventually you'll get it. I always do it to the Nord prick who tries to scam Fargoth when I have only 5 Speech skill.

if they bring birthsigns back I hope they go back to actual character stats instead of continuing with the retarded shit skyrim was on that made it so you largely ignored it and probably just took the steed stone and never looked back

Hey, I never knew I needed that, I'm getting it.
It's so annoying and constant, the continuous disposition drops make it even worse

My first playthrough was without even the unofficial patch, so you definately don't need that.

Morrowind is really good and I think it's better, but Oblivion is more fun

I get what he is saying, it doesn't make a difference lategame, but it gives you a lot of money early on.
On the other hand, Scamp is just so convenient, he has a lot of money and buys a great variety of valuable items. Juggling merchants gets tiresome after a while.

so who put in the Mudcrab merchant, then? that'd be quite a coincidence if two different devs had the same idea.

I stand corrected then, it's an exploit.

The game legitimately isn't even good without MWSE mods.

Troubling yourself with selling loot to merchants for money

Not just buying low selling high until a merchants gold is 0

My jew high elf simply takes a merchant's gold for free at this point

wanna try something different for this playthrough

i'll make a mercantile/speechcraft character

with minimum time investment i can already jew infinite money out of merchants in Balmora

I do love Morrowind but man is the vanilla game scaled like shit in every system.

the game isn't good with out meaningless busy work mods

I miss the days when devs could just add shit. So much good stuff in TES seems like a total accident, like how the dragon priest masks weren't going to be a thing.

Don't know.

That's just a feature of Morrowind. No matter what you do you'll eventually break the game and become super op in some way and it won't take long either

miss

miss

miss

die

and then they made all merchants in oblivion have unlimited gold

You better be describing the assassin's experience

All Morrowind merchants functionally have infinite gold.
Waiting costs nothing.

zoomers will install Morrowind, run to a level 90 deadra and be like "yo, wtf fr fr why am i missing"

Wait 6 years in Morrowind

No Oblivion gates open

shit game

Red Mountain doesn't erupt a year or two after

This game is shit I'm going back to Skyrim

Morrowind is unironically the worst TES game. I would rather spend 6 hours in a randomly generated Daggerfall dungeon than play this tedious shit.

do ??? damage

do ??? damage

do ??? damage

get locked into animation one-shotting you from full health

Now that's a real game

Honestly the only exploit i use anymore is trick the enchanters to make myself a constant effect restore fatigue belt and then play normally.

Just make a small mod to change the fatigue cost for running and/or regeneration if that's something you always do. It's easy and quick.

go back to oblivion demastered lil guy

Eh i'm too lazy. I also like how it offsets the drain from running around but not really the drain from swinging heavy weapons.

This anon's OPINION literally BROKE me!

I'm sick and lean and I'm feeling like I'm Nerevar

Just wait another 20 years. Tamriel Rebuilt will have all of Oblivion and Skyrim included, and TES 6 and Starfield and Fallout 4 as well.

Project Tamriel, not Tamriel Rebuilt (which is specifically the mainland morrowind project), but unironically kinda correct if everything goes alright, High Rock will have fallout wastelands because of the numidium and there's a moon colony mod being developed in association with PT

buying and selling things in morrowind

the pro strat is to literally pester people out of their money

you can just spam your dogshit offer repeatedly until the other person eventually caves in

Making literally everything tied to the stamina bar was a dumb design choice.

yeah but Skyrim took it too far making it basically a sprint bar

temple shrine for that +10 mercantile

Wait which one is that

Can't say it's bad design per se, it makes sense that being tired makes you worse at literally everything as that's just real life.
It just makes the gameplay worse for not much gain.

I'd like to see you steal, rizz hoes up, haggle, etc while winded.

The one right outside Vivec's door.

chat is this real? is morrowind becoming a troonhive?

because of the numidium

Wut how

make a single ring of restore fatigue with 1 pt cost and anything besides the tiniest soul

wow look at that

yah, it's pretty transcore not as much as Fallout New Vegas but pretty bad. Oblivion is based boomer, Skyrim is zoomer fastfood shit

Personally, I just immediately shred Divayth Fyr's armor, max my personality and INSULT him first (OpenMW bug that rolls it over so positively it gets read as negative IIRC) and THEN compliment him, so he's effectively butt-naked but loves me.

It makes me feel like I'm actually playing a role

It's not the same. It's an much older version missing like 75% of the updated ones functionality and also he says it's in there but I've never gotten the combo attacks to work.
There's an option in the menu to enable two handed spinning attack and I've never gotten it to work either. I'd love to try the full combo master but I haven't gotten around to it yet.

I like it. I feel like it would be cool to have varying stamina regen speeds.

Out of combat bonus: +200%
Walking bonus: +50%
Standing still bonus: +100%

warp in the west

Speaking of lightning, I have a mesh that I shamelessly stole borrowed from the dwemer lightning rod mod to use with abot's lightning strike mod
I really liked the mod as a concept but the lightning bolt itself was... underwhelming because it was a flat plane and it didn't go all the way to the skybox
the edited mesh (can't link to abot's mod page because Anon Babble thinks its spam)
youtube.com/watch?v=flqrokSlzt4
files.catbox.moe/potem7.7z

The basis of the combo master part of the PvP mod is to give you increased attack speed when chaining power attacks together of different types. I've never been able to confirm or deny if this works though as the PvP mod increases your attack speed by itself normally so its hard to say if I go from like 40-60% increased attack speed for a single attack chain.

I suggest changing the attack speed bonus of the pvp mod to a fair bit less than the default speed increase. I think I'm at like 60% of its default setting that feels more than fast enough for me.

Yeah but the chance is so abysmal you might as well bribe, you're getting the money back anyway. It also depends on aggression.

???

The end of Daggerfall (the game) is the warp in the west
Numidium was activated and it caused a dragonbreak

Look at this fukkin casual.

Doesn't bribe lower aggresssion though?

Oh wow, interesting. that dwemer lightning rod mod is so cool. I have another mod that adds a lightning bolt skill as well as other environmental magics. Can't remember the name but it's massive and adds several new types of spells

The Numidium, giant dwemer robot, exists and causes time distortions, sometimes causing places to be fucked up and time distorted for eternity, like with the Halls of Colossus in Elsweyr. The most recent Numidium activation, The Warp in The West, happened in High Rock/Hammerfell as a result of the events of Daggerfall, so one of the ideas that Tamriel Rebuilt/Project Tamriel people had for their High Rock mod is to spice things up by adding regions that are still fucked up as a result of it.

While that is funny, with most other shopkeepers if you have a mercantile skill of 35+ you can just buy their most expensive item for cheap and sell it back to them for more than you paid for, which is arguably worse.

For instance, buying ra'virr's fiend tanto for 2800 and selling it back to him for 3200.
I get the feeling the testers never bothered using mercantile since it's a boring, unassuming skill, which is why it's absolutely broken. If you buy training from someone who also has a shop it's super easy to get all your money back by just re-selling them their own merch.

If creeper had a working mercantile skill he'd be even more exploitable if you knew what you were doing.

the Nord prick who tries to scam Fargoth

Fargoth is a smuggler who hasn't been paying the Legion his protection money

For me, it's Slowfall 1 pt Constant Effect.

Why do we hate Cosmo again? Because he doesn't pass? He's probably a chill guy to hang out with, if not slightly mentally ill. But then again who's not?

He's fucking nuts

But High Rock's not...

So they finally spiced things up, huh?

Nah, aggression is only temporarily modded by frenzy/calm spells afaik.

This is a good point, Creeper is less of an exploit than actual mercantile, especially since if you have fortify skill you can sell things for double their value or more and buy them for half or less.

Maybe it's a mod doing it, but if I Calm an NPC after aggro'ing them I have to bribe them successfully before it wears off or they'll just start attacking again, I assumed this was because of the Aggression stat

and he was a drummer

So that's why that answers a nagging question I've had for 20 years

Slowfall kills your momentum and takes all the fun out even at 1 pts. Might as well just levitate if you aren't rocketing uncontrollably and casting slowfall at the last moment

Taunting raises the "fight" value permanently (by 10 pts). Intimidation lowers it.
Creatures and NPCs attack you at a fight value threshold, modified by disposition and proximity.

Idk why I'm excited to play Daggerfall after setting unity up on a whim. Something about the aesthetic immediately pulled me in. I know the game is actually slop, but maybe I'll be dazzled by it for some reason. I transheart sovlful retro games.

TR is good

TR has troon ashlanders

wtf why do they have beards? multiple ones
Thats lame, completely breaks immersion

Playing Tamriel Rebuilt, I'm in this Cammona Tong town were everyone hates my guts and the quests are awful.
I had to find the warehouse boss and there's no topic about him, no house and no tip. Yeah, he was in the warehouse, but behind three locked doors. Okay, fine.
Then I'm looking for some guy and the closest tip was "hahaha i hope that outlander is in the trash lmao" and where was he? The sewers - in a corner.
This sucks, it's not fun, I don't want quest pointers, but I hate these shitty tips that make you scour the place.
Thanks for reading my blog.

Meh, ashlanders are fucking weird and borderline matriarchal at times. I could see them being into hairy, strong womyn.

Hlan Oek really is the worst place, truly makes you feel like an outlander

I finally put together what Project Cyrodiil Anvil reminds me of, it's like a modded Mount and Blade town.

Yeah, that's the place.
I'll do the Temple quests and that's it. Leaving this shithole behind.

that webm trainwiz posted of the guy ascending the siege ladder makes it feel exactly like mountain blade

anyone else not use pauldrons because of how stupid they look?

Why mount when you can blade?

Halls of Colossus in Elsweyr.

How is it really affected then

Is there any OpenMW compatible mod for spell organization yet? I remember there being some for MWSE but I can't find any that have been ported over.

Oblivion in a lot of ways "fixes" this about the leveling system. Yes, the scaling is awful for enemies. But by endgame I never really felt incredibly godly. I was powerful, and I one shot most enemies. But I didn't look up any exploits, and grand soul gems enchants on all my armor, or the best spells I could think up weren't ever really that good. Spells too expensive, enchantments mostly meh outside artifacts. A lot of tricks from morrowind won't work because you can't make fortify skill ench/spells and there's no levitate.

Pauldrons are where all the soul resides.

spells in oblivion is like what stealth archery is in Skyirm. If you're not using that blue bar, your missing out.

based slayers poster

fortify Mercantile by 200

fug, just reduced my enchanting costs by 80%

People are saying you don't need them, but isn't the resolution all fucked without openMW?

mfw reading old forum posts when skyrim released and people are praising how dumbed down it was

That's kids stuff. True madmen reduce their attributes that govern maximum fatigue so that you have 1/1 fatigue. Then drink a few potions of fortify fatigue to get something like 40/1 above maximum. You're so good at doing stuff that enchanting costs 1 gold. You also gain health from fall damage instead of losing health.

My hype for Skyrim was very short lived because i got excited about the "new" system where you could equip whatever you wanted in each hand.
I was planning to go dual-shield for memes but i soon found out how grim the situation was.

i was fuming when they gutted magic even more than Oblivion. Like being a mage in Skyrim is painful.

Yeah they even lied about combining spell effects from each hand.

you can shoot your magic in a stream now! and dualcast it! and charge it! that's it!

You don't need a mod, retard, just turn Tribunal off in the Data Files menu

I feel like a lot of the best UI mods are MWSE in general. I just want to be able to sort my inventory by v/w.

I remember thinking dualcasting sounded really cool then it turned out all it did was make a spell stronger and there's never a reason not to do it. Even Fable 3 around the same time had some proper magic combinations and that game was a complete disappointment compared to it's predecessors

GMSTs are safe to change at any time, right? I'm thinking I'll compile the various mods tweaking one or two into a single metamod. Probably throw skill xp tweaks in there too.

Or you just play Orc and get really mad, skipping the min-max 'tism and still getting a good deal.

Really don't understand the big deal of this set being too OP early game, when you can find even better gear after a few hours. Found full glass and somehow one of the best claymores after just exploring for 10 hours.

magic was always the weakest part of skyrim for me, and something I had to add hundreds of spell to the game for. Still thinking back its surprising nobody really added levitate or jump spells into their packs. I wonder why.

being a mage in skyrim leads you to becoming a bound-bow stealth archer

It's mostly *another* way to break the economy early on more than anything.

doesnt really matter since with a low skill level it's pretty much useless anyway. The value for me came from selling it

The mod skygerfall adds both a levitate and a jump spell as well as feet of notromos for increased speed. Problem with skyrim and levitate is it's just very jank so it feels mostly like you're just using the tcl command

yeah they actually designed for levitate in morrowind. in skyrim all it would do is let you kill everything from above.

Morrowind gets flack for bad quests but the fact that you can levitate or teleport at any time during them without breaking much is honestly pretty fun.

The 'fix' to this is to roleplay instead of metagame

do the min max level up run

spend all money on trainers so i can get 5/5/luck every time

20 hours in im level 5 because i cant gather enough money whatsoever

Pretty fun ngl.

I had to add hundreds of spell to the game

I made a mage in Skyrim with a ton of spell packs before and magic still felt boring. There's really no fixing it.

i think it's because it lacks synergy and utility.
its just heal, damaging spell, shield or summon. There's no creativity and destruction already scales really poorly with you.

It should be fine, but make a backup so you have an easy way to see what the defaults were. It's easy to lose track when you change many things.

Assassin's Guild, also known as the Free Light Armour and Money Delivery Service

Some damaging spells are fun, like the one that ports the twister from dragons dogma or the one that summons mini meteors to your rune but yeah absolutely. Spells like calm etc are also practically non functional

The twister spell from Apocalypse is kino. More games need magic that lets you summon tornados like that and Dragons Dogma.

Not if I want to cuck myself out of a set

I'm watching a video guide for Daggerfall and honestly I can see who boomers were a bit pissed with some of the choices in Morrowind. The player expression, RPG elements, and restrictions are a lot more toned down. It really is fascinating watching the slippery slope of streamlining in action.

he isn't collecting unique NPCs inside soul gems

new to morrowind

Play vanilla.
When you're done install mwse and whatever mod catches your fancy while you wait till the heat death of the universe for openmw to reach parity, at which point you switch.

At least MW was some steps forward for all the steps back. Can't really say the same for the rest.

Especially considering skyrim already had ragdolls

There's no benefit to :(

there's no benefit to having a hobby

Literally fucking soulless NPC. Don't talk to me.

I do that and have them in my little abode in Anvil. My favorite still is the King of Ugly Obscurity with a whole 600/600

How do soul gem recharges work mathwise

I will be doing this in my Oblivion run.

Potato farmer

Won't work. Oblivion onwards soul gems don't get named.

It's based on post-Daggerfall lore
en.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Warp_in_the_West

The Underking is believed to have reclaimed his missing "heart" from Numidium, giving him the death he had sought for so long and also creating an anti-magic zone several miles wide around the area.

Yeah but you'll know

lmao

I wonder if any of this will come into play for TES 6
yeah I know, funny joke

What's with the LARP in recent Morrowind threads with the guy pretending Daggerfall was anything but almost completely shit?

Because it is almost completely shit (with some charm points) and because of that contrarians latch onto it like it's peak gaming

To be more specific, I will be using black souls gems filled by NPCs I kill to do my enchanting.

Don't know. But they have a randomness element similar to equipment repairs.

"Jodenjone! Don' let Marshee lie to you about Big Walker. The Blades took It from here, sure, but they din' take It back to Cyrodiil and rebuild the thing. Talos, he "annexed" a swath of our bounty-land in Ana'quinal and cleared the Khajiiti out by force. There's where he built the Hall of Colossus—a mighty name for a secret testing warehouse—and that's where Big Walker was born. And that's why that part of our Elsweyr is still poisoned glow-rock, where no cats go. Ach, for the lunacy of you Wayward Folk!"

Wait you can do that? I thought the game restricted you to only non-humanoids? If that's true I know what my next character's gonna be, a psycho chaotic evil vampire that sadistically traps everyone for the lolz.

download a list of mods you don't know and fuck around install shit you can verify the compatibility of

whyyyyy oh why is my game so unstableeee

Sure, non-humanoids still have unique named versions.

So the imperials used it as a repair bay and it became a nogo zone?

Basically, the numidium's time distortions also turned it into a spooky ghost site that moves around across space and time, so it has technically always existed.

Randomly exploring on my way to the next city

Find a creepy underwater cave following a clue from an NPC filled with skeletons tied to the walls

Uh huh, a necromancer, I'll just hit the guy with my instant death spell, same as usual

Get to the inner sanctum

OH FUCK ITS A LICH

Lich tells me I'm a faggot and asks what I'm doing here

I tell him I'm not a faggot, and maybe impressed I'd backtalk a lich sends me off to kill a crusader

Find him and loudly announce I'm a minion of a great lich and summon a bunch of skeletons to help fuck him up

The lich is so pleased he gives me what seems to be some ritual book for becoming a lich

This was really cool. Plus my learner wizard now has a lichbro I can hang out with.

Can I add the Tomb of the Snow Prince mod to my load order in the middle of a playthrough, if I haven't visited Solstheim yet?

It might cause some problems because it moves Solstheim to where it's supposed to be
But maybe if you've never been there it'll be okay

why is sound compression so atrocious only on main characters in Oblivion. Side characters sound great, Martin and Uriel Septim sound awful. Like they recorded their lines on a shitty boom mic they found in a office scrap box

there was some weirdness when I tried it like that.

They may have saved them with a shitty codec to make space

shame that in the remaster they couldnt work some audio magic to make them sound passable. It's so distracting hearing how everyone else sounds crystal clear but then when Martin speaks you can just hear how heavily its compressed.

I wouldn't recommend to add mods that change cells during a game.
Install it for your next character, it's a nice mod.

Why is there a daily 500 post Morrowind thread?

Tamriel Rebuilt got a massive update that added an expansion pack sized area to the already massive map

We're all playing grasping fortune.
When we're done the threads will subside till the next PT release.

Bunch of mods got big updates

Tamriel Rebuilt and Oblivion Remaster has sparked interest in it, again.

Must be either the openmw or tamriel rebuilt people shilling their creations

I like the modular armors in morrowind. being able to put a skirt over leg plates is pretty neat. wish they brought this to the later games

Does he even care about the worship, he likely could and would actually interact with people if he did

They did in Fallout 4

That's perfectly reasonable if it's your first time through those areas, but I just jumped there after doing minimal starting setup.
..Which still forced me to go back and redo old areas because Narsis factions have rank locked quests lmao.
Also I gotta say I start getting a bit of restartitis when I reach the point where most loot and rewards feel like nothing more than deadweight, so these expansion sized reases TR does are just the right amount of content for a good run..

start new morrowind game

Woah so realistic

I'm rather surprised with all the image and video upscalers that can help reverse compression that there doesn't seem to be one for audio

damn this was one of the shittiest morrowind threads ive seen in a while. openmw vs mwse is the new tes3 ragebait. fucking discord trannies

the clothes are kinda mid tho unfortunately
the harness and BOS uniform are the best underclothes

You meet Tiber Septim's avatar(I guess?) in morrowind
He gives you the lucky coin

The Emperor is getting old. Don't know how much longer he'll hang on. So is the whole Empire, for that matter. Getting old, that is. The Emperor and the legions have held the Empire together for hundreds of years. It's been a good thing, by and large. But maybe it's time for a change. Time for something young and new. What? No idea. Because I'm old. Old dog doesn't get new ideas. But maybe young folks like you should try some new ideas. I don't know. Could be messy. But change is never pretty.

That's a disingenuous meme, in reality Daggerfall is barren in content because it's literally an unfinished game

kinda mid

You're being too kind. Most Fallout 4 modular armor looks terrible.

there's no reason to use openmw outside linux

Both games have their strengths and I'm not trying to game war by any means. Objectively speaking, Daggerfall's RPG aspects are more in depth than Morrowinds. It's immediately apparent when you compare the character creators on both games. Daggerfall is kinda like Morrowind + old school Fallout fused together.

Right so instead of improving on it obviously you had to throw it all away and make an inferior version

Be breton, get boots of blinding speed and savior's hide.

Really, really wish nexus would let you sort by updoots in a timeframe rather than just uploaded timeframe and total updoots

I think he means you can wear clothes under armor maybe.

when you compare the character creators on both games

But not when you compare outside of that given that 90% of Daggerfall's stated mechanics literally do not function in the actual game

Daggerfall is kinda like Morrowind + old school Fallout fused together.

Fuck off cretin.

Why is Mephala's ring called the ring of khajiit

When you steal something it's yours.

ring makes you a better thief

is called "ring of thieves"

Seems logical to me.

Is there even a faction that favors medium armor

How are you liking Marksman? I've played through Morrowind like half a dozen times but I've never tried bows or a sneak based style

Imperial Legion does in the early game, their uniform is medium

i enjoy fictional racism a lot more than real one. the real one just makes everyone angry. dungmer dabbing is funny.

House Redoran

redoran

The Tribunal Temple gives you the best medium armor, despite not having it as a preferred skill.

I would like this poster revised to be on topic.

They also have a heavy uniform and keep getting more heavy stuff iirc.

Not him but I have it as one of my major skills for the first time after all these years and I like it a lot. Way less janky and more satisfying than I thought. I saw on UESP that it falls off on late game though, because bows can’t be enchanted with cast when strike enchantments. Fun for now, though

I knew the bat was extra

Anon, they're jungle romans. What does that have to do with your rent free?

because bows can’t be enchanted with cast when strike enchantments

Can you enchant arrows?

It's a joke about the tea company it's based on, anon

i like the idea.

Console player here, give it to me straight. How powerful of a rig am I going to need to play all those expanded Tamriel mods? I'm assuming I need something really powerful, like those crypto-mining or AI rendering computers?

shadow.jpg - 612x458, 48.23K

I had no idea there was a tea company called that. But I'm not a bong so what do I know.

Yeah but not in bundles (un-modded) and even though you can buy some nice arrows it's not worth it.
Custom on-strike enchantments are whatever though, they pale in comparison to artifacts and a good weapon type like bows is more important.

Khajiit with skooma/sugar in the middle

Altmer on the left

Dunmer on the right

I could play it on an old budget laptop from 10 years back provided I didn't use distant lands.

tea company

the East India Company was a little more than just tea

The best part about TES is that you cna imagine many triple combinations.

Reminder that this meme comes from Mike metal who was filtered by Donkey Kong country 3

you can't make fortify skill ench/spells

you can actually. They have diminishing returns after 100 or flat out dont do anything past 100 skill. fastest way to level in oblivion is actually stacking skill enchants for 100 skill tier mana reduction then spamming high lvl skills as the remaster gives spell XP for base mana cost, ie 200 mana cost spell gives 200 xp a cast even if your 100 skill reduces the cast cost to 40

Walk up to NPC

Refuse to press interact until they play the acknowledgement voice line

Also wait for them to do their blink after the voice line otherwise you're talking to them for the whole conversation with their eyes closed

I'm so fucking autistic.

What's the point of joining the temple when you know for a fact that not only is it all fake and retarded but also straight up offensive to the actual good people in dunmer history

tfw my computer is 15 years old

only starting to feel it now that UE5 is getting more popualr

fuck UE5, FUCK

TR on console

Holy sovl. 5 fps at Old Ebonheart with the fog slider all way up. JK, I have no idea, but probably. That's ok though because that's easily the most overrated era in all of Tamriel.

Well anon the said company did way more than just sell tea, go give them a read

I played a ton at launch and ignored the main quest as early as I could but the game must have broke because after a bit it would throw dragons at me nonstop so I had max blacksmithing and a full set of dragon armour and eventually the unending dragons coming in one at a time stopped landing so I just stopped playing the game.

There are good people in the temple too. Nothing is so black and white. Even "fake" faith can be used with good intentions.

remaster gives spell XP for base mana cost, ie 200 mana cost spell gives 200 xp a cast even if your 100 skill reduces the cast cost to 40

How does the xp earning math work in morrowind anyways?

Sometimes cults can accidentally create cool and interesting orders. See basically all world religions IRL. Also Almsivi may have been dickheads to Nerevar, but they did a pretty good job of cleaning up the sewer that was dunmer society.

Just because I know doesn't mean my character does. I like RPing as a Dunmer priest/priestess that is proud of his/her culture and joins to uphold traditions. When or if at all they find out the Tribunal is full of shit they go full Telvanni on their asses

why would the dark brotherhood have a contract against a level 1 nobody who just got off a boat and is unknown to everybody?

They do that in Skyrim too and it makes no sense there either. Someone put out a contract on you and it's never explained who or why, and when you join the DA they act like it never happened and never try and fulfil it or acknowledge it.

they did a pretty good job of cleaning up the sewer that was dunmer society.

This is the good version?!

I run it on a 1080 from 2018 I got for $300, runs decent. I don't have a conniption over having to repress "E" to open a door every once in awhile though.

I love the new voice lines for TR. The one where Dunmer groan to themselves about "that solemn duty crap!" is always funny.

Being a Redguard in Morrowind feels like I'm the wrong type of black.

damn i thought my 20fps at max fog was bad

I personally don't like cast-on-strike enchantments because most of them are a good way of self-owning on late-game enemies who have reflect.

Just came across a Redoran hunting hound in TR for the first time and its design is kinda funny to me. it's like the thought behind it was

so morrowind has weird reptiles and giant bugs. which one do we make this thing?

how about a giant bug shaped like a dinosaur?

cleaning up the sewer that was dunmer society

At least the Chimer's "Good Daedra", who are all about murdering, backstabbing and lying, are upfront about what they're all about instead of pretending they're the good guys while being all about murdering, backstabbing, and lying.

Every successful cast gives the same amount of XP. A spell is as hard to cast as your lowest skill in a magic school for its components. I think XP is handled that way as well so you can't make a spell that trains everything at once.

self-owning on late-game enemies who have reflect.

How many have this? It's pretty rare outside of dremora.

It feels good but I think it’s severely gimped

each arrow weighs 0.1

arrow retrieved from corpses is about 25%. If you missed (both when you physically miss and when you hit but the diceroll failed) it’s gone 100%

gimped enchant unless you mod

That said you can mix a few things up in terms of gameplay

Summon meatbags to tank for you while you pop them from distance.

Make a mass Levitate 1pt spell to slow everyone down.

level acrobatics or use jump spells and zoom around shooting

Tribunal's goblins and Bloodmoon's reiklings all have reflect. Reikling boar riders have an absurd 60% reflect.

Everything in Bloodmoon for some reason.

Or the most dumb thing of all:
Shoot an arrow and drink a potion of recall ending up in the same cell.
God i love this silly game.

That's actually vanilla, added by Bloodmoon. I think TR just uses more of the idle lines added by the expansion, I'm constantly hearing new lines like this weird song

[Singing to self....] 'Mama's little baby likes scumble, scumble....'

that imperial females sing to themselves added by Tribunal.

Morrowind is my fav of all time.
The oblivion remaster got me replaying skyrim again after playing oblivion a bit. The world / exploration is so much better in skyrim than olbivion its insane. Skyrim feeIs like a dream to play for the first few levels. I hate killcams in skyrim though, I hate how its a stat based RPG with no attributes to play around with. I hate how weirdly the difficulty curve feels as you level up, harder difficulties feel fine for early levels then really ramp up fast to the point i need to game the system in a way its not fun anymore, stat disparity between high and low is pretty extreme % damage modifiers between 5 different sources is awkward game balance, you can break the game as easily as morrowind almost. Skyrim is so close to being amazing but it has a bunch of little things that could have been done just a little differently but are instead kinda bad.

Overall im excited for the next ES, it should be great with mods, but im probably going to need the "no spinning death animation" and killcam customization mods to make it enjoyable, like skyrim.

I saw on UESP that it falls off on late game though

ranged attacks double dip damage bonus from strength so you can game the system for big damage, espeically using stealth archer type build where you add in sneak bonus

The Daedra interfere in the world and constantly talk to the player and get involved in zany schemes.
But how come the Eight Divines/Aedra never do the same thing? How come we never hear Akatosh asking us to fetch 50 skeever buttholes?

Akatosh is too busy keeping time linear to worry about skeever buttholes. Daedric Princes have way less responsibility.

The Aedra gave a lot of their power into becoming the earthbones (laws of physics). They don't intervene in the way daedra do because, in a way, everything in the world is an intervention of them.

Aedra are busy being earthbones/the laws of physics and can't do jack shit

They are constantly interacting with you, they are the world, every item on Nirn is an Aedric artifact. Also they manifest as avatars during the imperial cult questline.

The Bloodmoon Werewolf transformation little cutscene was so kino.

Because not being able to interact witht the world to the same extent the Daedra can is literally one of their key defining characteristics

Literally the only faction whose quests I have not completed (or started)

If you like artifact finding it's kind of cool.

There's a weird voice line the Imperials use sometimes. A very loud, and aggressively mumbled "YOU'RE IMAGINING THINGS". The first time I heard it I was freaked out because I had no idea who said it, it didn't sound like a character in the room I was in, and thought it was part of a quest.

Roleplaying

This is a helluva place. Why are you here?

The saints were nice people

I'm not ashamed to admit it but I basedfaced before it was a thing when I realized who he was.

Reminder that one of the legendary saints in The Tribunal Temple was a dude who walked around with a pebble in his shoe. This feat was so legendary that hundreds of Dunmer recreate it in a rite of passage.

shit the remaster I had no idea about that and just happened to use the strongest spell. Everything hit 99 in about 5 minutes. I like being able to hit 99 in a reasonable time but it was also pretty sovlless.

bumming around Vivec doing some quests

pop in and out of stores just window shopping

merchant offers to sell me her vacation package to Stirk at cost, says she cant make it

eh, fuck it, why not

remember a tip I got from Ahnassi

45 minutes later the Redoran Vault is empty and I'm in another country

Nice place, Stirk.

Because is not fake for the people and that's the important thing, that they use the temple as a way to connect with the divine

Imagine how orderly and nice societies would be if we had demigod rulers walking among us that cared about our race and country's prosperity.

just walking incorrectly can lead to blisters on your ankles and feet. confirmed for never having walked more than a couple of feet in your daily life.

does morrowind seem that well off to you? If you aren't in a great house that is.

Instead we have demons lording over us eradicating humans and breeding servants

gods are a literal BPDemon herm, a technophile gooner recluse, and the biggest gaslightgirlboss to ever exist

to be fair, vvardenfell was off limits to everyone but the ashlanders and the temple until about 20ish years before Morrowind takes place

one of these gods is AWOL playing with his action figures

another of these gods is a chronic liar who is literally two-faced and threatens the race with destruction if they don't suck him off hard enough

the last and most powerful of these gods is a bipolar Stacy who will murder anyone her crazy ass gets in a mood about

would vivec be more or less well received if he was a proper futa instead of an icky maleherm

Vivec actually loved his people and did his best to advocate for them at all times.

inb4 ministry of truth

He needed that as a stick to remind the uppity, low caste dunmer of everything that he symbolized should they dare to try to cross him. All good sovereigns have to do something like this.

If the girlboss was so strong why didn't she fuck with Vivec? Makes you wonder.

bioholes being in positions of power is always cringe unless they use trickery like the Bene Gesserit in Dune. So Vivec as he is is based and more realistic.

Vivec is a biohole you nigger he canonically has a vagina

None may stand in my way. Not you, and certainly not Vivec. He is a poet, a fool. I will deal with him when I have finished with you.

The girlboss literally said that Vehk was next after the Nerevarine
She was full "I'm mortal so fuck all you bitches" mode

It's not fake. The tribunal's divinity may be stolen, but it's real. The ministry of truth is a real miracle. The blessings you get from the shrines are all real, and they're better than the basic restoration you get from the imperial shrines.

She would have fucking jobbed and you know it. Vivec probably already had a contingency plan for her inevitable spergout. Maybe CHIM himself to look like Nerevar and then stab the bitch when she hesitates.

The ending of the words is ALMSIVI

muh CHIMMMM

Is a fucking meme that means literally nothing in the actual games and world of TES
Vehk's a fucking bitch whose only talent is telling stories he made up

Being intersex is different than a vanilla xx biohole. Those creatures have limited reasoning, hence her chimpout. Vivec totally had a partially male brain which helped him with logic and reasoning.

Roleplaying as an irl retard???

You see, not removing the pebble shows the ingenuity of the dunmer

How would you feel if you didn't have breakfast this morning?

i think there is medium armor in the werewolf xpac, bear something

How does Dunmer food taste compared to the rest of Tamriel? I'm guessing pretty awful

One of the said demigods thought dunmer were so boring he became a neet and the other one was so useless nobody even noticed he died
The other one is a cheating bitch

Wait, dagoth was active for 20 whole years? I thought the whole blight was like two years old at worst.

I'll just say this, there's a reason she's the post-game final boss who rules the capital city and Vehk's the mid-game optional fight who runs a city on Vvardenfell
Kirkbride and his dickriders' outside-of-game non-canon circlejerk around his literally-fake-lore-spewing OC because he liked the fake wacky lore he made up better than the actual lore isn't real

Nobody even spoke to V for the last 150 years because he locked the door and yelled dont talk to me
