Dark Ages is what happens when you let someone who only watched Game of Thrones once on a plane design a Doom game. nta but i feel this is still the aftereffects of inafune's western push. the push lasted generations which is alot of time and resources put towards the end goal. cutting inafune doesnt change that their at the time current path was still set towards gaining that western market to a large degree, and to shift off that course would ultimately squander those years spent getting them their current foothold. in other words, the damage inafune did lingered after his departure forcing the company to stay the path with only minor course correction.

Gotta go with Halo, at least with most series mentioned here it's either a gradual decline, or shift in identity plus some IPs like Final Fantasy still get decent games. But looking at what Halo used to be and what it has become genuinely hurts. And to top it off it feels like they are doing it out of spite and hatred.

capcom was always at least partially aiming for the western market. from the PS1 era onward at least.
