It's not outright stated but I'm pretty sure the argument for Battler being shot down with Knox's 2nd was because he got someone to slip him a red truth that directly disproves the premise he's fighting against. It would be as if he got the red truth "Witches don't exist", it was an instant win button.
So really you could make an argument that, spiritually, he was violating Knox's 6th, by having knowledge he shouldn't have.

The red truth Dlanor uses is one that is based on the basic rules of the mystery genre, the Knox Decalogue. That's different from the statements witches make when confirming or denying something. One is an overarching genre ruleset and the other is a truth established by the players of the game.

Erika is one of the best characters and she hard-carries episode 5 and 6. It's not just about her being a funny meta-reference, she's also very entertaining and has a great dynamic with Battler. Only soulless fools don't appreciate her character.

I quit after episode 5 because it was probably the single most joyless thing I have ever read. I honestly can't remember any other book, game, or vn where I literally didn't enjoy so much as a single instant. But E5 accomplished that

By ep 5 also the magic characters are quite a lot and turn into a very good cast, their antics and discussions are way more entertaining and fun than the overdone main scenario. It was a natural and welcomed progression.

The true ending really fucks with me desu because it brings into question everything regarding how Ange's story works. It couldn't have all happened, even if you rearrange pieces from previous episodes. Simply by stating Ange never met Hachijou before that point, means that she couldn't have been a reader or have access to the diary or the key to it. But the entirety of 8's plot hinges on that goddamn diary. Both endings also imply episode 4's ending never happened either, since she never actually ends up on Rokkenjima at all. And since it's neither a message bottle or a forgery, it's not in-universe fiction either. Is there any weight at all to Ange's plot? If none of the 1998 scenes actually happened that shape her character, how does she end up at the true ending in the first place? What was R07 even trying to get at here?

I also struggled with it reconciling the Magic Ending with the rest of Ange's story at first. That's largely because I was clinging to magic not being real at all within the story. Featherine using the Red Truth at the press conference with the diary I think is proof that magic does exist in the world, to say nothing of her having not aged a day when Ange meets her again in the 2030s or 2040s. It just has nothing to do with what happened on Rokkenjima in 1986. Therefore I can accept that Bernkastel literally plucked her out of time from that rooftop and then she was returned to it after the events of 8. Of course the weird parallel storylines between meta-Ange and 1998-Ange are still a problem. The best I can come up with is that the events of 1998-Ange were a fragment of somekind that Bern set up. 6 implies that Ange and Amakusa's investigations weren't quite real and they were in a sort of limbo at the whims of Featherine. Ryukishi probably didn't know exactly what he wanted out of her earlier in the story so she's stuck being part active metaverse participant and part narrative device to reveal details about the Rokkenjima Massacre from a future perspective.

Were it not for inevitable spoilers in chat I could see it being fun for the right kind of VN. Ryukishi also very much meant for WtC to be series that you talk about with others so in theory streaming is great for that aspect. Though you could argue people need to read it on their own in order to have varied enough interpretations of it for fruitful discussion to happen. There is also an aspect of vicariously reliving your experience reading it for the first time through watching others read through it that I can see the appeal of.
