there is an up to 4 person coop dungeon of increasing difficulty
the best materials for the best gear can randomly appear in it, its a good chunk of runs to even get 1 set of the rare materials.
if you want a set for all the combat styles its a looot of runs
not to mention if you want to roll good perks on them instead of just w/e you get the first time you might need to make them multiple times

Each of my charged attack reduce the HP by around 1/3 of their health bar.
So I'm guessing the threshold is less than 5% of overkill HP.

Mage's SP reduction buff should also give a big damage boost for how fucking long it takes to cast and how short it is. Meanwhile Merc is casting their damage buff in 1 second.

Getting a Perfect (crown mark) is 100% better than trying to make it Fine, Notable, or even basic of the next tier up if your stats are gonna get you just a Good or even Great.
Obviously any weapon of any quality (as in fine, notable etc.) can be Perfect; it just means you wrecked the minigame by having stats well over the requirement. But since the requirements increase by quality and by weapon tier, you won't be getting Perfects on something you can just barely craft.
So if you have high stats and a choice between getting a Perfect on a basic Pine Bow, a great on a Notable Pine Bow, or a "just ok" on a Cherry Bow (the next tier up), go for the Perfect on basic. It'll have higher attack.

You don't really notice it early on because material progression is pretty lenient, but recipe progression is structured so you will learn the notable version of the previous tier while only having knowledge to craft the fine version of the current highest available tier. If you can get perfect on either, I think a perfect fine high tier tool has higher stats than a perfect notable (-1) tier though.

She was the best girl. Sadly the story is probably the single aspect that the sequel isn't better in desu. Losing someone like Yuelia to act as the driving force of the plot really just makes it feel too much like we're nothing but an autistic errand boy. Things like your original home and solving the problems of each new area in the 3DS game felt meaningful because it actually did mean something to both your character and Yuelia in the story itself, but in the sequel it's all simply another chore to clear an obstacle.
Not that the sequel plot is notably bad per say.

I'm playing this game and it's been pretty fun so far. But I'm wondering if I should buy it? It seems to be mostly offline and online multiplayer is just slapped on as an afterthought. Or am I wrong? The price tag really bites for us third worlders. Plus, there's some games in my backlog already, which I should be aiming to clear now. But this game is new and shiny, and if multiplayer is indeed important, there's going to be a window of opportunity, after which the online will be mostly dead. Also the devs seem to be rolling out patches and updates, and there are already plans for DLC. So I dunno if the pirated release will be able to keep up with those, if they'll even bother updating it.

1. I loved the first one for 3DS, how similar is this one?
2. I never played the DLC for the first one cuz I didnt feel like grinding to lvl 50, was the DLC worth playing? should I finish that first?
3. While I enjoyed the first game, it also had some annyoing parts like way to much repeated trash conversations that added nothing new, is the new one better in that regard?
4. How is the Multiplayer?

If you want to optimize, then do the story until you unlock random dungeons. Then do Ginormosia until you have some crafting buddies. After that you can do whatever you want in any order. It's not a big deal either way though, but it might save you some time in the long run.
