What are some good games with desert level/stages? The kind you Can Explore huge deserts and feel the adventure.

assassins creed origins
Conan Exiles
Mad Max

good games

desert levels

choose only one

Serious Sam HD remakes and third BFE game

Genshin Impact
Rogue Galaxy(? maybe I forget)
Your pic reminded me of Nier games but I wouldn't say the stages are good, but they're there.

Gothic 3 has a huge desert, can't say it's much of an adventure.

Kenshi
Sable
My time at sandrock kinda but it has more cartoony graphics
Ark survival has desert areas an a DLC desert map

inb4 troon vegas

Game is slop it's empty and has nothing to do in it

troonshi

Yikes

Fallout New Vegas :)

kenshi and sable are definitely great, but fuck you for dogging on new vegas. its a great game and you dont have to be a Anon Babble sheeple and hate it just because everyone here seethes about it 24/7

It's not "everyone" it's me, they're all me I'm every single NV hate post by myself and will continue to hatepost until no one ever mentions it again

I think there was an action game all about sailing around a desert in a sandship of some sort I forget what it was called

Nier Tomato

i wish last remnant wasnt such gay weebshit because i quite enjoyed the combat system. would love to see another game do it again.

Kenshi

The Mad Max game was criminally underrated.

Is your webm from Genshin? Looks very kino.

This is my kind of thread

Sumeru desert is indeed kino. Dunes, tombs...feels like Indiana Jones game.

Dark Sun: Shattered Lands and Dark Sun: Wake of the Ravager

Everything I've seen about Genshin looks great, but the gacha bullshit just murders it dead. Closest thing I played to a gacha game was Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and I bounced off of that nonsense. You know even if the combat looks fun that they'll bloat stats and make it impossible to do without paying up for whatever the current meta pulls are.

You don't need gacha characters to Explore.

the game does look great but i could never play it because of the gacha (obviously) and the anime aesthetic. im straight up allergic to that shit and its so incredibly fucking gay and lame i cant look past it

no mention of sand land

What went wrong?

Yeah. For some reason they made 3 different desert regions back to back which I think caused a lot of burn out lol. but I'll always have very fond memories of the second region and all three of them had some great parts. It's for sure my favorite desert in vidya.

Just play it, you'll quickly feel like a retard for being afraid of it and you'll wish you played sooner.

Did TOTK improve the desert any?

You only need meta characters for the tougher "endgame" challenges. You don't have to worry about the gacha systems if you just want to go through the main story, see the world and listen to the soundtrack. Those are objectively the best aspects of the game anyway.

Honestly 99.9% of content you can easily get through with the free characters you get. And as you're playing you'll get enough primo currency to roll on the banners. It's a pretty generous free to play game. Combat, exploration/world design, and music are kino, everything else is kinda meh.

Deserts aside, any opinions on Wuthering Waves?

Kenshi

Outward

these games are kino

Is the last remnant a good game? I always remember it fondly but when I played it like a million years ago I had such a bad time...

Yeah, desert soundtrack is Nice. Feels like playing Lawrence of Arabia.

i wonder how this game will turn out. im a big fan of the dune books, but wasnt a fan of the movies (especially the new shows) at all and heavily disagree with their direction, which this game seems to be going with.

I played when it first came out and managed to pull Venti. It unknowingly changed the way I explored the map since I could pretty much climb anything and any height related challenge in the overworld was trivialized.

FF XII

Estersand.png - 1920x1080, 2.47M

sounds absolutely nothing like lawrence of arabia

I love it, but that's probably just me. There's a fuckton of aspects that the game never tells you to do, but are quite important. Just classes change require a degree in it lol.

It's the Conan Exiles devs, it'll just be Conan Exiles with a Dune skin.

I didn't like how the gameplay looked so I never played it. They updated the graphics though and it looks pretty cool visually., saved this a while back

If I didn't waste time playing ToF I probably would hav tried this one but that was enough UE Genshin clones for me.
I'll probably try Ananta though, the trailer was genuinely good.

what's wrong with the new shows? I haven't seen them or heard anything about them
kino, the start to ff12 is great

Black Desert Online

It doesn't have the biggest desert but KOTOR is a good game, just played it for the first time a week ago.

file.jpg - 1920x1080, 458.32K

what's wrong with the new shows

just uncreative and retarded writing and story. paints the bene gesserit in a really stupid way that makes them seem like cartoon mustache twirling villains with a huge sprinkle of that annoying fucking star wars acolyte "le fucking evil sisterhood" bullshit. it just rapes the mystique of the bene gesserit in a way that is so anti-frank herbert.

That gave me goosebumps. I really loved those tombs and the lore. I usually skip all that shit but I was pretty locked in for those desert cunt stories.

dunc avakening?

why are they so skittish with their fonts?

Based. The desert also had fantastic bangers like the Ishtar music or the one that plays when you enter Varant the first time.

ARK/RUST/DayZ/Conan/Whatever

generic as fuck online survival game where the only gameplay is griefing other players bases

terrible genre

How much of a pain is it to get them working on modern PCs?

some gay graphics designer thought he was cool and creative for making a logo that looks like the font consists of the one same symbol just rotating around. gimmicky garbage

[Intelligence] You're fighting the good fight with your voice.

you could have just added the middle line to the E instead of that weird eclipse thing and it would have looked fine

sandstorms vanish when you beat their respective shrines

twas lame.

isn't that implying that the sandstorms were magical and by beating the shrine you calmed the chaos? that's kind of cool

It was, but sandstorms are kino, it would have been nice to have them be a recurring weather pattern like rain in the jungle area.

Just play it, you'll quickly feel like a retard for being afraid of it and you'll wish you played sooner.

That's what they said about Wuthering Waves and it was just a bunch of ching chong rambling and repetitive combat (beat this boss X times to loot item Y to level up character Z).

forests surrounded on all sides by desert

How does this happen?

They almost had a rain shadow looking deal going on with those mountain ridges, but the desert on the other side of the mountain does raise questions.

2 reasons: One reasonable and one lol magic did it.
1: those forests are at a high altitude
2: the planet was cursed by overuse of magic (arcane magic in Athas kill nature), the only thing left are the jungles being protected by druid tribes of savage cannibals who use nature magic to protect them.

Elves.
The Earth Spirit willed so.
Wooden Elementals lurks there.
so on and so forth.

calmed the chaos

there was no chaos. just sheikah mummies kicking up dust because they're ancient faggots trying to groom link.
actual sandstorm weather would have been cooler.

Cant' talk on that game but Genshin for me is just BOTW but a real game.

you don't need to pay at all (all the good looking characters are 0.01% rarity pulls)

all you need is the battle pass, it's super worth it!

the game gives enough gems for pity every season (you need to login every single day and do mindnumbing """quests""")

why are you using 4* weapon? you need at least 5* to beat this boss!

Not at all.

The desert isn't natural. Athas, the world of Dark Sun, is cut off from the normal flows of the Upper Planes. Magic only works if you drain the lifeforce of either plant-life or humans, and in the past Athas was fucked up by overuse of arcane magic.

Why are you acting so ignorant? You even said it looked good lol.

ACO is more or less the same thing isn't it?
