Despite it's troubled development it managed to capture what made Dark Souls 1 so fun. Also, it has pretty cool lore.
Only real problem I'm seeing is that she doesn't use the multiplayer AI that causes her to attack in two directions. Like everything else in ER she gets confused and just attacks whoever is closest.

The goal is to beat all 8 Nightlords.
Each "hunt" has different Limveld modifiers and night 1 and 2 bosses. Nightlords are essentially the shardbearers of the original game, but after beating them all, there isn't really a goal beyond that like destroying destined death and becoming elden lord or whatever.

You get stones kinda like runes from Bloodborne to augment your character, you get these in failed runs too but you get better ones for successful runs.
There's also sidequests for each character to build out their story. You have to visit certain parts of the map and do... something, I forgot.
Ain't that all Souls games, really? Somewhat generic, often half-finished, full of half-baked concepts, kinda easy, nowhere as deep as other RPGs, somehow astroturfed as the most hardcore thing ever made. DS2 is hardly unique in this respect.

This is a very unimpressive thread. I can literally see new moves in the video. Another anon stated the fight didn't have the spiders, and not only can you clearly see the little spiders, but even the little spiders have new moves. Furthermore several more posts do nothing but point out the entire franchise is just worthless horrible doodoo that's too easy and that Souls is worseand more simplistic than all the other RPGs/action RPGs.

Dark Souls 2 admittedly does do some things the best out of the games. It's the best for making unique,rewarding and viable builds. It has the best armor fashion. It has the best Large Sword movesets where you don't slam the sword into the ground like a gorilla, and it's the last time the series had the heavy deliberate workingman adventurer combat.
not to be a contrarian but playing the 3 games in a row made me dislike 3 the most because of how much faster paced combat is so i do think 2 is the best one
it has scaling, but it's designed for 3 people so you'll still be fighting the same number of enemies and bosses at the same time
