What do you want from it?
Resident Evil 9
leon+claire's kid as MC
More sexy women like 8, i dont give a shit about the game
Sherry and Rebecca game.
Hopes
Chris-centric sequel to RE8's cliffhanger that ties up the ongoing plotlines, including but not limited to:
Wesker's Revival (don't even try to kid yourself at this point)
NatAlex
The Connections
BSAA is evil
Ada's entire narrative which hasn't progressed at all since RE2 beyond the ending to her scenario in RE6
An actual coherent sendoff for the main cast before Capcom resumes playing with these inane remakes for the next quarter century
That's about it really.
Expections
I'm really expecting another disconnected game about some faggy self-insert tier protagonist (i.e., the ever uninteresting and dull Jill or the man so deprived of character that his only consistent characterization is between the remakes, Leon) that has nothing to do with RE8's cliffhanger and only introduces a dozen more plot threads that will go unresolved for eternity, and be about completely new antagonists who either die unceremoniously at the end or setup some plot thread that goes nowhere.
Fears
Another fucking remake.
Fears
Another fucking remake.
My fear is more yellow paint
Smaller area (Not like RE4/8 and more like 1-3)
Third person
Less random zombie health
Less guns more makeshift weapons/traps so player is a bit more helpless (No weapon durability though) and has to avoid zombies more than fight
More ambiance sounds like this youtube.com
more ass and butts like RE6 the ass enjoyer game
has to avoid zombies more than fight
Utterly retarded idea invented entirely by the first two remakes.
At no point in the original games were you intended to avoid combat because the point of the games was the combat. You have a set of tools, you use them well or you fail to and inevitably die horribly. That's why all the games give you a weapon that can kill every single enemy you encounter so long as you have enough skill with it.
The whole idea of "makeshift weapons/traps" is aggressively anti-RE, as the series' conceit in gameplay is precision more than anything. Nothing is up in the air in the horror titles, you have one guy that occupies one type of weapon that deals some vaguely set amount of damage (i.e., 5 bullets = 1 zombie vs 1 wellplaced shotgun shell = 1 zombie vs 1 magnum round = 1 zombie).
Nothing, after the timeskip everyone is like 70+ years old and nobody ever explained what happened with the whole BSAA reveal, they simply decided to take it easy for the next 16 years? I have the feeling, just a hunch that the original idea was for Rose(16) to actually be just 1 year old but then someone was like "omg the modern audiences will not like it, make her 16 for real" despite the entire background of the character making it the logical development.
At no point in the original games were you intended to avoid combat
chrislop for the 3rd time in a row
fuck off
Yeah and you can very easily kill that zombie. Even as Chris, it gives you that long hallway to get to grips with the knife.
As Jill you can run away and Barry will kill it, but that's because Jill is easy mode.
keep dreaming chris
Just reboot the damn game with new cast already, the plot is a mess now especially with the Rose timeskip since we knew Chris won't die
He's the only one with any kind of ongoing narrative that has yet to be wrapped up out of the four main characters, and he's the one that actually got a cliffhanger at the end of Village, so yeah, I'd fucking expect him to be the main character.
He wasn't even in the main game of 7 until the last two minutes and a DLC (that got delayed by 6 months), and in 8 he's only playable for what, ten minutes? Chris hasn't had a full scenario in an RE game since 6, which was 13 years ago.
And before you go "muh other characters"
Leon
Has had two (2) games in the span of five years. In fact, he got a bit more than that since the remake of 2 basically erased Claire's entire character arc and narrative presence from the story and made Leon the only character with anything actually going on.
And in the time from 7 until now, he has been a main character in 2 films and a TV show.
Jill
Got her game back in 2020 and got to be a main character in a movie.
Claire
Her character has been done for over 20 years.
Just reboot the damn game with new cast already,
But why.
the plot is a mess now especially with the Rose timeskip since we knew Chris won't die
Knowing that Chris will or won't die means nothing.
Time skip, localized event in a small mid-western town, normal people as the central cast. No more military dudes, no more cops, BSAA, or whatever.
Zero connection to the previous games. No "Chris" showing up at the very end, no vague connections to Umbrella or Wesker or whatever.
3rd person. Limited Ammo. Puzzles to solve.
Cute girls.
That's it.
I want a new IP
nigga that sounds boring asl
My autistic idea is setting a game in the 1980s. Play as wesker and friends doing corporate espionage, sabotaging umbrella's competitors.
Don't worry, that'll be RE10 which will be 1 again but with another "enemy".
Instead of pharmaceutical companies it's something akin to Parasite Eve.
If that's what it takes, then yeah. I want a new IP. RE has been milked to hell and back.
no more boring than whatever the fuck RE is nowadays.
Sick of the central cast. Sick of Leon, sick of Chris, sick of Jill, Claire, Wesker, the entire Winters family tree. Sick of all of them.
Move the fuck on.
I want it to not be made.
Sick of Leon, sick of Chris, sick of Jill, Claire
Shit taste
Alright Capcom, hire me. I got plans and concepts for you.
Resident Evil 9
Chris Redfield BSAA takedown game, involve Wesker because we all know you want to.
Revelations 3
Finish THAT Wesker game while you're at it, where he's working with a vaguely gay Russian man pre-4.
Resident Evil 5 (Remake)
Listen, Capcom. I get it. The Africans won't pan out too well, so I got a better idea.
Use your already finished Chris, Wesker, Jill, etc. models and put them in a new game, call it Revelations 4 or "Resident Evil: Spencer Rain", whatever, but just do that original Castle concept merged with Lost in Nightmares.
Wesker organizes an HCF raid on the Spencer mansion at the exact same time as a BSAA raid is occurring to catch the man off guard. After that, all parties go radio silent so Chris and Jill get sent in to investigate.
Instead of Spencer being a feeble old man, return to the "imposing" guy he was supposed to be and have him transform for good measure. You can also let Chris get infected here since he hasn't had that before, so he'll get the hallucination side.
Resident Evil X
Alright, we all know Pragmata isn't coming out. So, take all the concept work and make it into a new RE game and just play it off like it was some grand stroke of forethought that you were planning REX this far in advance.
Other game ideas that are probably inevitable or I think Capcom should do.
Resident Evil 1 (Inevitable)
Just another remake.
Resident Evil VR
A three-pack remake of the three RE Survivor games with full VR support but can also just be played as normal FPS (or OTS) titles. Wouldn't be too hard.
Resident Evil Chronicles VR
Same deal but with the Chronicles games.
Resident Evil 30th Anniversary Collection
It's next year Capcom.
Next box set, every fucking game. Just reprint them if you don't feel like porting, but at least do it, the last one we got was that shitty RE6 Oldfag Edition.
If that's what it takes, then yeah. I want a new IP. RE has been milked to hell and back.
So you want to milk it more by making a new IP and then just stitch a different name onto it.
no first person
no winters of any kind
canonization of Gaiden
bring wesker back
Dead Aim remake because I want to see based Bruce and Fong Ling again
they did, he's Barry's daughter now.
I have to wonder why people want Wesker brought back when typically people only like him a whole lot because of the films.
Nothing about him in the games beyond some meme worthy lines (entirely because of DC Douglas, who got himself blacklisted from ever working with Capcom again) is that interesting or fun. Even his big boss fights in 5 are pretty shit.
We need a game all about the abandoned side characters. Bruce and Fong star, alongside Ark, Billy, Sheva
Damn you might be more retarded than previously thought
Chris is the only interesting protag in the series. Leon is a magnet for losers and Jill is waifufags's first waifu.
That's essentially what you're doing.
You're just making a new IP and then banking on brand recognition, the classic definition of milking an IP.
RE needs to go back to it's roots and do a game focusing more on the inhumanity of what Umbrella was up to. They need to go heavy into the human experimentation and the horrors of BOW production.
RE9 setting in Gaza / Palestine
imagine the tears

What the fuck are you talking about? His shit in the movies is ripped straight from the fucking games.
A game that doesn't shit itself past the part they showed on public demos
Re7, anything after the first house is shit
Re8, anything after the castle gets progressively worse
Most of how people recall him, namely as some grand overarching 'man with a plan' type villain comes from the movies rather than the games.
In the games he's an intense jobber that shows up three times across the first 8 years of the franchise wherein he's always backseating to some other antagonist and doesn't really accomplish anything.
In 4 they started rewriting him but he's still mostly the same there (with slightly less jobbing), and it's really only Umbrella Chronicles (a game most people didn't play) and 5 where he becomes what people seem to remember him as.
Whereas in the movies, he is always that. He is, in fact, the main antagonist for most of the films.
No one is doing knife runs on their first playthrough anon
you mean sherry
Didn't say they had to do that, what I said was that the game gives you all the resources you need to kill every enemy in the game.
You only need the knife if you're an astounding fuckup who wastes all of them and completely fails to play the game properly.
I just want a spinoff game set in Raccoon City with new survivor not related to the main cast
Most of how people recall him, namely as some grand overarching 'man with a plan' type villain comes from the movies rather than the games.
No. His entire characterization in those movies is from RE5, which is only a slight evolution of his characterization in Code Veronica.
In the games he's an intense jobber that shows up three times across the first 8 years of the franchise wherein he's always backseating to some other antagonist and doesn't really accomplish anything.
No, he beats everyone's ass all the time and you have to use tricks and overpowered weapons to deal with him properly when you do fight him.
In 4 they started rewriting him but he's still mostly the same there (with slightly less jobbing),
No, again Code Veronica is where he developed his Matrix powers and had glowing red eyes and talked like an arrogant asshole to everyone including non-sentient monsters who could not possibly even understand what he's saying.
and it's really only Umbrella Chronicles (a game most people didn't play) and 5 where he becomes what people seem to remember him as.
I'm staring to think you haven't played Code Veronica, and anyone who makes a point to mention they've played the fucking Wii shooters is a ntoddler. His personality during his level in that game is, yet again, the same that was established in Code Veronica where he was revealed to be a super villain asshole who could move super fast and run on walls and shit.
Whereas in the movies, he is always that. He is, in fact, the main antagonist for most of the films.
He's the main antagonist in 1 (one) of the fucking movies, in the one after that Alice kind of works with him, and then in the one after that he was revealed to be the servant of original Alice and not even a villain at all because Marcus was now the super powered guy who had fist fights with Alice, and keep in mind it was only movie 4 where he had screentime for longer than like 4 minutes.
A Japanese village where there’s never a clear distinction between safe areas and dangerous areas other than occasional break sections that let you relax and process the story after a big boss.
Villagers can die and it permanently affects the stories some come back as ghosts.
It’s ghosts this time for real.
However they can be manipulated with quantum computers because the mold powers through bioresearch revealed the ghost realm.
Emphasis on possession as a bioweapon, while the ghosts remain real. Japanese ghosts.
Traditional Japanese haunted house settings: school, old castle, graveyard, ruined village.
Unironically 7-11 is the only safe place in the game and you can buy snacks there to feel better but they will kick you out if you loiter too long.
Just play Fatal Frame 2.
ride a bike around
and uhm...
look at some titties
Chud gamers when instead of yellow paint it's a neon wojak pointing at the climbable surfaces
Moira, Claire, and Barry again.
What I want is for Capcom to stop collaborating with Sphere Tranny or Tranny Capcom Creator!
No. His entire characterization in those movies is from RE5
I said "how people view him" for a reason.
which is only a slight evolution of his characterization in Code Veronica.
He is a completely different character.
In CV he's this hilarious jobber that almost accomplishes nothing (and in fact, does accomplish nothing in the original release) and has to scurry away with the dead twink (in the special rerelease version that triples down on the homoerotic tension between him and Chris).
No, he beats everyone's ass all the time
He beats up Chris a couple times only to get his face burned in the end, he loses to Alexia, he does nothing in Zero, and he literally dies in 1 (or gets knocked out by Barry).
and you have to use tricks and overpowered weapons to deal with him properly when you do fight him.
You only fight him in 5, which I explicitly wasn't talking about there.
No, again Code Veronica
Actually play the game. Wesker is a laughable fuckup in CV's original release and they only marginally adjust that, and even then he still loses the Alexia fight and fails to beat Chris in their rematch.
I'm staring to think you haven't played Code Veronica,
I'm starting to think you haven't.
He's not a supervillain in CV, he is, in universe, a borderline janitor for HCF that runs around strapping bombs to zombies and completely fails his actual mission and only got t-Veronica by sheer luck.
He's the main antagonist in 1 (one) of the fucking movies,
In the fourth and fifth movies he's a main antagonist, in the third and sixth he's a secondary antagonist. He's a pretty major focus for the majority of them.
This but also include Leon’s bastard hapa kid with Ada as a side character or deuterogonist
In the fourth and fifth movies he's a main antagonist,
No.
in the third and sixth he's a secondary antagonist.
He's in that movie for 5 seconds.
He's a pretty major focus for the majority of them.
He is explicitly not. There's six of those movies, he's not in two of them, and he's revealed to be a good guy in the last one.
No
He is, the fourth one is where they do the RE5 boss fight cutscene beat for beat and he is, in fact, the only antagonist in the entire thing.
He's in that movie for 5 seconds.
He's in pretty much every evil Umbrella meeting scene of the third film, and he's ever-present in the sixth one.
and he's revealed to be a good guy in the last one.
No he wasn't, he got killed by one of the Alices in the last one because he was evil or whatever.
>NatAlex
That's reserved for Rev3 where she's the antagonist and Rose is the protagonist.
8
sexy women
That's reserved for Rev3
It's not.
We already know what Revelations 3 is (or was).
It was the game DC Douglas leaked that was set before 4 and explained how Wesker built up his resources to become a threat to the rival company and put the final nails into Umbrella's coffin.
but Rev2 set after 5??
He is, the fourth one is where they do the RE5 boss fight cutscene beat for beat and he is, in fact, the only antagonist in the entire thing.
Yes, that one movie. Like I said. Which is ripped right out of RE5.
He's in pretty much every evil Umbrella meeting scene of the third film
No. He's explicitly in one at the very end for 5 seconds as a teaser for the next movie.
and he's revealed to be a good guy in the last one.
No he wasn't, he got killed by one of the Alices in the last one because he was evil or whatever.
No. The old woman Alice walks out, he like kneels before her or whatever and she compares him to a dog, then he dies when a door falls on him, which I think might've even been him saving Alice so should go save everyone or whatever.
Nobody remembers those movies, not even you, and your point that that's where people remember Wesker from is completely insane.
One of biggest complaints at the time was that Wesker wasn't getting enough screentime, because even in the movie where he is the main villain, they just walk into his lair in the last 15 minutes of the movie and fight him and that's it.
Revelations 2 also had no real connection to Revelations 1 aside from one guy who said one thing in one cutscene.
It's not a linear narrative series, it's a series of connected ideas- those being Revelations about the narrative.
yeah but it's a series in between the main series, Rev1 in between 4 and 5, Rev2 in between 5-6. It's supposed to fill the gap between the main series timeline
Yes, that one movie. Like I said. Which is ripped right out of RE5.
And the fifth movie, where he's in the film from the start and posing as an ally but still blatantly the antagonist.
No. He's explicitly in one at the very end for 5 seconds as a teaser for the next movie.
He was in multiple and was a secondary antagonist. The teaser for the next movie was the retarded Alice clone army.
No.
Wesker was blatantly an antagonist in the sixth film. He didn't get killed by a door because he was a good guy, he got killed by a door because he was helping the other antagonist.
youtube.com
That's also not true.
Revelations 1 is set in 2003, which is before RE4.
I didn't noticed because I was busy staring at Jill and Rachael ass plus I think Rev1 story sucks!
Something like re2r but I can explore the entire city. I’m not super keen on it being in seamonkey territory like rumors have said, but I’ll hold off judging the location until I play it.
RE10 will be a reboot, REX
I just zombies as the main enemy back, no smart ass zombies. Just good old munch eating zombies like Remake2
You don’t like Chris you don’t like Re, simple as
Most of how people recall him … comes from the movies rather than the games
You’re an idiot and a secondary who probably doesn’t play the games.
I've played the games more than anyone else here unless a re-horror or PU forums oldfag is lurking.
The way people talk about Wesker and what they like him, it is incredibly blatant they are recalling the films or approximately 3% of his actual characterization across the entirety of the games.
What do you want from it?
A good game.
7 and 8 fucking sucked, can't believe people liked that casualized slop.
To kill the FPS versions of the series, they're complete trash made for retards and kiddies.
