DId you 100% Mira?
What did you think of the epilogue?
What's your favourite Skell to use?
Favourite discovery/memory with the game?
Xenoblade Chronicles X
The epilpgue is terrible
no I didn't 100% Mira
I didn't like the skells I liked ground combat. Only exception was the hsralveg or whatever it's called that can turn into a jet. That thing kicked ass just to fly around in
The entire first half where you're just exploring and finding all the data probes mapping out the 5 regions. Going to places with enemies way ahead of your level so you gotta be cheesy and stealthy to sneak past. All that shit was great. Games 2nd half isn't nearly as good as your just zipping around the map being an errand boy
Does this game have romance drama like Xenoblade Chronicles and Xenoblade 2 ? I wanna play it but i don't think i can take more of "uuugh i love anon kun but this other hoe took him" type shit.
Other than some characters having crushes on some other characters and some NPCs being in relationships, there is no real romance in this game. At least not involving Cross
DId you 100% Mira?
Yes.
What did you think of the epilogue?
It felt like the team was given an ultimatum to wrap up X's world to go back to making Xeno games that followed the successful formula (fantasy adventure, cast of young adults rallying against a divine being, Masatsugu Saito), and in the effort to answer a bunch of questions, they contradicted themselves in several places to wrap things up, and introduced a lot more questions. I liked the epilogue enough, but I wouldn't call it Shakespeare, and it makes me sad we likely won't be seeing the last survivors of Earth once more.
What's your favourite Skell to use?
Hreasvelg ruined the game travel for me and I never want to play a Xeno game again that doesn't have Hreasvelg-tier jet travel, it's so goddamn fun to ride with.
Favourite discovery/memory with the game?
The opening scene on Wii U when first seeing Primordia stuck with me for 10 years and still does now. Also the pizza murders sidequest.
DId you 100% Mira?
Of course.
What did you think of the epilogue?
It's an okay excuse to have a new planet to explore next game, but I'm still iffy about a few aspects, mainly
When a planet is destroyed by the Ghosts and Ganglion fighting, its WHOLE UNIVERSE is destroyed too
So what, was there also a planet called "Earth" with descendants of Samaar on it in Elma's universe and she didn't notice Ares shifting dimension and that "our" Earth and the Earth she was first headed towards aren't even in the same universe?
Souls are eternal and heaven is real and collects all souls from the multiverse and these souls can be made to inhabit vessels whenever and they retain their personalities and memories for all time
This is nu-Star Wars "no one's ever really gone" levels of bullshit which they can now use to bring back whoever whenever. Oh, you want Shulk and Rex and Mumkhar and Fei Fong Wong and Gorth and Tatsu in your next game set ten billion years into the future? Just have someone build effigies in their image and their souls will float down from limbo to animate them for your pleasure!
What's your favourite Skell to use?
I really like actually moving around in a Hraesvelg and Ares Prime, but they're so fucking shit in combat. For combat I use a Leilah Queen drone build (I was attempting a diskbomb build but gave up grinding mag up)
Favourite discovery/memory with the game?
Of course that discovery goes back to my first time playing on Wii U. I was 300+ hours into the game when I stumbled upon that hidden cave in the mountain pass in Sylvalum only reachable with flight that has Berthold the Blue-Eyed in it. I was so flabbergasted that the game STILL had secrets I hadn't discovered 300 hours in.
wtf is this WOKE propaganda in my xenoblade game????/?/?/?//////
there is the sidequest "definian love" in which you get a love interest but it's post-main-story and doesn't actually go anywhere
I got 99%. I don’t feel like grinding for augments to kill the Telethia so fuck it.
how tf did people beat level 90+ monsters in the wii u game with a level 60 cap?
It felt like the team was given an ultimatum to wrap up X's world to go back to making Xeno games that followed the successful formula (fantasy adventure, cast of young adults rallying against a divine being, Masatsugu Saito)
knowing it's either this and/or they're just rolling X into the numbered games makes the epilogue feel even worse. by itself the epilogue is clunkily written with shit that feels incredibly out of place compared to the original writing (like several "everyone laughs" moments) while overcomplicating things in others (UNIVERSES out every hole) and because it's main plot it has to ignore content the player may not have done, which tended to be better content. i could take mira being destroyed if it at least wrapped up a few more things satisfactorily but only Neilnail's content tries.
but knowing this is the last time X will get a game to itself to explore its particular themes and gameplay ideas makes all of it feel worse. still one of my favorite games of all time but fuck me.
level stats don't matter nearly as much as gear. skell stats are untouched also.
The same way you beat them today.
Grinding augments and abusing Overdrive.
I hope reworking on 1 and X had reminded Monolith Soft how to make a good Xenoblade game again after whatever the fuck 2 and 3 were.
Failing that, can they at least steal X's movement if they're not gonna make X2?
130 hours into the game
only just now learning about augments and how to add them
what in the fuck
Shit game for shitters. I am sad to have wasted 100 hours on this. The story was crap the characters garbage and music was ass. Gameplay was atrocious once you get a skell there’s no reason to use anything else and skell gameplay is press button on cd. Horrid. Japs needed to be nuked more
2 was a good game though that suffered from a very slow opening in terms of plot and gameplay. It takes a long time to get going, and Rex is a bitch of a protagonist until way later on in the game, but man did they nail that lead-up to the ending.
I hate the fact I dislike 3 though, because it has the best standard gameplay of the series, but its chain attack system feels the least mechanically engaging, unlocking Lucky Seven just trivializes the gameplay, and holy fuck was that ending sequence downright awful.
DId you 100% Mira?
Yes, both on Wii U and Switch.
What did you think of the epilogue?
Too heavy on cutscenes with almost no gameplay in the first two parts but it gets really good in part 3. I hope the conclusion means they're actually making a sequel next.
What's your favourite Skell to use?
The big boy Amdusias Hades I made to take down the Telethia.
Favourite discovery/memory with the game?
Boring answer, but finally reaching the inside of the Noctilucent Sphere.
Does Al live?
Rex is still a bitch up to the very end though, he gets told by Zeke to man up and let Pyra/Mythra go yet he's rewarded by getting them back and split up into two people because why not?
Yes, he'll be poppin' for quite some time.
Alright Anon Babble:
How's it poppin'?
Did you feel love playing X?
What's your favorite region?
What weapons did you run?
How would you do a sequel?
What's your favorite pizza topping loadout?
hate the fact I dislike 3 though
That's dumb. You shouldn't feel guilty for having an opinion
Of course, how else can they have him go full Albedo next game otherwise?
Yes he should. It is absolutely right and just to shame people for having horrible opinions
So I tried to recommend XCX in a thread on Anon Babble where someone was asking for what game to use vouchers on and these were the (You)s
Why does the series keep getting these kinds of reactions? Why is XCX still not being talked about as much as it should despite the recent DE release? Will Xenoblade ever get main franchise status within Nintendo because it kind of hurts to not see a single Xenoblade series merch item in Nintendo’s various official stores?
no one cares dude
I hate Al
I hate Ch13
Oblivia
Knife -> Dual Swords/Guns -> Photon Saber + Dual Guns (Astrolibrium build, not Ghost Walker)
I would've had the humans explore the other parts of Mira but that's no longer an option. And the Ghost are no longer a looming threat, and neither are the remaining Ganglion, so I guess the only option for an X sequel would be to crashland on another planet in the new universe.
For me, it's Hawaiian except replace the ham with pepperoni.
3 sucks though so he's correct.
Mechanically, I really liked Voltaire. Feels like the proper final dungeon Or Simh and the life hold should have been. I think the story is a little rushed, but that was always X's weakpoint.
Favorite skell will always be Wels. G-Buster is too much fun.
1. Anon Babble is filled with the mentally ill. It's easily the worst board on Anon Babble and has more in common with old message boards for niche topics than an image board.
2. There's an undercurrent of "tendie sloppers" who HATE anything that isn't cartoony. I understand whining about the number of Fire Emblem characters in Smash, but they genuinely hate them because they're "too anime" and not because they're from Fire Emblem. These people also hate Xenoblade for similar reasons.
3. RPGs filter the ADHD-addled Zoomers. Most of the negative responses to E33 came from the retards who couldn't be bothered to read. Xenoblade being an RPG series with heavy emphasis on story and characters filters out the cutscene-skipper crowd.
What's the best emulator for X DE? RyuJinx? Yuzu? Can I move my Switch saves there?
Voltaire
Phoneposter detected.
Wrongfag is wrong as per usual
E33
This is a shit game that is ruined by realism and action combat.
Cope and seethe.
people typically don't like it when you assert something is better than their favorite thing without much reasoning
but tendies do hate xenoblade, so
Because Xenoblade is shit and you're too retarded to understand that.
Volitaris, not Voltaire. But also, no it absolutely did not. The enemies don't drop anything unique, they're just recolors of existing enemies with no new moves or abilities, and they're scattered in uninspiring ways whereas enemies in the base game are placed with intentionality. It felt more like how there's a bunch of alien skells flying about the sky of Cauldros than a soulfully designed area like you'd find in Primordia, Noctilum, Oblivia, or etc. Not only that, but finding the party members was lame and didn't make much sense story-wise. The charm of your party in the base game is that they're all a bunch of randos, Nagi, L, Elma, and Lin. Hope is just some Mediator chick who is known for helping people out who sucks in combat. Why is she, of all people, selected to go on a dangerous mission instead of someone who is more combat-inclined like Slovity Pagus or Erio? And don't give me them being aliens as an excuse because Celica, Neilnail, and Ga Jiarg all come along too. Where's Ga Buidhe? Where's anyone that isn't already a party member for the sake of convenience?
All in all, Volitaris was shit, Ch13 was shit, Al was shit, and Xenoblade X would've been better served of none of it was added.
Yes?
Skill issue. You get plenty of augments from treasure chests even early into the game.
But also, welcome to the endgame. Augments are like 90% of your damage when you start dealing with superbosses and the like.
Probably because that guy listed a bunch of games he was deciding between and Xenoblade wasn't one of them.
This just feels like complaining for the sake of complaining. It's your party members going around Volitaris because they're your party members and story-wise they're all members of BLADE, just like the other randos who protect the White Whale 2 during the final cutscenes. No, they're not going to add NPCs from sidequests in main story sequences, just like the base game didn't during the assault on the Lifehold. At least Ga Buidhe and the Wrothians are there since they were part of the main story.
Those are all bad games or old as shit games you can emulate easily. Seriously, Dolphin is the easiest emulator to use ever, there's no reason to buy RtDL DX when the original is still fantastic AND playable on anything that can run Dolphin.
I would never take the opinion of someone considering PM Origami King, Yoshi's Crafted World, and New Pokemon Snap seriously.
It ain't dumb, I want to like 3, because it did a lot of things I really liked in terms of the semi-seamless world exploration, the great music, and a gameplay system I find vastly evolved from the games before it, and then it punished me for getting involved right at the very end and made the whole journey feel meaningless because they hit the reset button on the whole game to back to the very start and make everything happy, except for the entire world, life born within the world, and relationships made in the world that got deleted in the process. It's a filler arc of a game that demands hours of your life you can never get back, and I hate that.
I'm not done with it yet
It's a filler arc of a game that demands hours of your life you can never get back, and I hate that.
Yeah it's a shit game. So don't feel bad for disliking it
anything i should know before starting ch13 act 2 and act 3
36 hours in
chapter 6
long way to go
There's a couple Tyrants only available during act 2, both level 99. Don't worry if you can't/don't want to fight them now since after you're done with act 3, the world reverts back to the post-chapter 12 state (without the black holes everywhere) and you can restart chapter 13 at your leisure.
i would but the combat and equipment is too confusing for my small brain to understand fully and it's making me want to quit playing
Xenoblade X made efforts to couch everything in a veneer of logic to begin with. That's why the original ending had ALL of BLADE rush to the Lifehold and not just your party members. Everyone was out there playing their part even if they were just some grunts who you'd become friends with. Cross wasn't even that exceptional of a BLADE. You were just some guy.
Them being lazy and just going "eh, throw in all of your party members and no one else and have them just stand around doing nothing" shits on the base game's ability to make the world feel alive and believable. Ga Jiarg has better things to do than just chill out on a floating rock, for example. He's the Wrothian Prince and the other Wrothians would make an effort to go and rescue him if he was in trouble.
Even worse is your comparison to Ch12 in the original. The Prone had no reason to help humans secure the Lifehold because they can't pilot skells and it's humanity's fight for survival, not theirs. But in Ch13, it's everyone's lives that are on the line. The Pizza Cruiser is carrying every NPC in NLA, allegedly, so why WOULDN'T Slovity Pagus be out their kicking ass alongside Erio, Ga Buidhe, Gi Zang, or any of the other combat oriented NPCs? We know they can all fight and they're in a survival situation, so why are they just on the Ma-non ship doing nothing?
Usually it takes people about 120 hours to complete the final chapter. Chapter 7 is like the 1/3rd mark and I'd recommend completing it so you can get your Skell. It opens a lot of things up for you.
If you're having trouble, go with the Dual Guns/Dual Swords class. It's the easiest class in the game and still produces good results.
Equipment
The only stats that matter are your Ranged/Melee Attack (not total, that's a misdirection), Potential, and your elemental resistances. Defense matters in the early game, but you want to prioritize the resistances since they're a % reduction. For example, if you have 80 Thermal Resistance, Thermal attacks will deal 20% damage to you.
If you're autistic about holofig collecting, be sure to fight the two new superbosses in act 2 and every tyrant in act 3.
If you're autistic about collecting every unique pieces of gear, make sure to find everyone in act 3.
If you're ever confused about a line on gear you can press ZL to get a description of that trait. Most of the stuff you'll find will have negative gravity resistance but that's something you can ignore for almost all of the game. Until you understand what you want your character to do you're pretty much best off mixing and matching stuff to get good ranged/melee attack and then TP/overdrive/cooldown stuff as you can find it.
One of the new superbosses has 35 million HP and insane evasion
lol, lmao even
Gradivus already took me 15 minutes to kill and he had next to no evasion.
Did you 100% Mira?
Yes
What did you think of the epilogue?
It was mid. There were some cool parts, but I didn't like how it locks you out of stuff. That, and retcons galore to the fit the rest of the Xenoblade universe.
What's your favourite Skell to use?
Ares 90, I'm a simple man.
Favourite discovery/memory with the game?
Exploring Noctilum on foot while the God Tier field music was playing, in particular that giant tree you climb up.
ty
Did you 100% Mira?
Yes, and also got all holofigs. Maybe I'll go for all achievements if the game feels smoother on the Switch 2, it was a bit rough docked on the Switch 1.
What did you think of the epilogue?
Mixed. I liked exploring Volitaris, but the story was definitely not great. It also feels incredibly rushed, which I guess is understandable since it feels like they crammed
What's your favourite Skell to use?
Lailah.
Favourite discovery/memory with the game?
Neilnail.
DId you 100% Mira?
Working on it, I detoured to grind out weapons so I could two-shot the Telethia, and Bewitched Glaive: Receding Rust so I can get good results on Telethia Plume.
I have a BG:RR with Weapon Power XX and Ultrafauna Criticals XX, it works well and my record attempt is 380 RP.
What did you think of the epilogue?
Enjoyed it as someone that never played the Wii U version, but understand why it pissed off a lot of people that waited a decade for a resolution.
What's your favourite Skell to use?
Ares 90 just for moving around and efficiently picking off enemies. Even after making a Mastema White Reaper and equipping it with Hades armor and 2,700% worth of Opening Attack boosts with a Zenith Cannon.
Though when you get into the level 99 scout farming for material tickets and bonjelium, this kind of invalidates hunting anything other than specific super bosses with specific exclusive drops.
Favourite discovery/memory with the game?
In general, I just love interacting with and learning more about all the xenoforms and their particular quirks, and so many of them are completely optional to the main story it's wild.
i took a few days off from playing but my brain keeps cycling through the region songs when i'm doing other stuff as if it's nagging me to get back to the game. i don't have mechs yet but i've been pretty much entirely absorbed into doing side missions and exploring instead of story progression. my biggest complaint is tanks not tanking, ever. do you really have to gimp the damage you do just so agro stays on the right characters? i'm like 40 hours in but i feel like i just started
what does potential do and how does the overdrive system work?
potential
Used instead of melee/ranged attack for arts that require TP to use.
Also affects how much you get healed when using soul voices.
overdrive
Here's a quick guide I wrote in an earlier thread:
Each art has a color, and each color has a special effect in overdrive.
green: gives you counter x 0.05 extra seconds
blue: gives you counter x 0.1 extra seconds
purple: gives you counter x 10 TP
Then there's also combos, which is using a color after another. The most relevant one is
green -> orange/yellow: if the attack has X hits, increases the counter by 2X instead
You can also spend 3k TP and re-activate Overdrive to instantly give you an extra 25 seconds.
Overdrive is then using all these things to quickly increase the counter while keeping the timer up so you can keep it going forever.
You can make your tanks invincible™ later on in the game. If you're using Lin/L your best bet early game is spending all their points maxing out wild down and the long topple. After you level up your arms managers you can find armor pieces that let you gain reflect (damage type) when you activate a reflect art, so if you want to you can have someone reflect all damage. But the easier way is to stack resistance to physical and ether/thermal since like says they're percentage based damage reduction. You'll get to the point where you don't even need a tank and stuff either one hit kills you or you're throwing around so many soul voices you don't get killed at all.
Also skell potential only has an effect on the amount healed from soul voices since there's no TP weapons, so there's no reason to stack it. When he gets to his skell.
XBCX is built in a way that tanks aren't really a thing and aren't viable, with a few exceptions.
H.B. is a competent computer controlled tank because he uses the winning combination of taunts and decoys with evasion so that enemies stay fixated on him, but unable to hit him.
The Hraesvelg skells are also your evasion tanks for skell combat.
To perform their best, they need augments that boost evasion, potential, HP.
The Potential stat determines how much HP you recover when you successfully hit the Soul Voice B-button QTE, or respond to someone else's soul voice by using a matching art.
This is the reason you recover HP mid-battle despite not using healing arts, which there aren't that many of.
The Overdrive system if used properly is busted, but early on you might not be able to make much use of it.
You can expend 3,000 TP to activate overdrive for 30 seconds, and you can re-activate it whilst still in overdrive.
Certain arts and skills help with replenishing TP during overdrive, and armor augments that increase your maximum TP are actually very easy to make and worthwhile.
Whilst in overdrive, you have a hit counter, which is the number of hits landed during overdrive. Some arts land multiple hits, and are good for getting the counter higher more quickly.
Your hit counter is a multiplier for bonuses like faster cooldowns, higher damage output, and higher resistance (which reduces damage from all attacks).
The end goal of overdrive is to hit 99 Max hits so you have maximum bonuses and go into infinite overdrive. There are augments that reduce the cost of activating overdrive, and increase your hit counter or HP upon activation, which combined can make you broken and literally go into maximum overdrive at zero cost at the start of any battle (that's an end-game thing though).
cast of young adults rallying against a divine being, Masatsugu Saito
I like his art but let's not heap on the praise too strongly
While more people have come to land in the “XC3 was mediocre as fuck” camp with time, there’s still the pseud-faggot crowd who believe that Takahashi and co do nothing wrong, and that disliking any creative or gameplay decisions in a Xeno game just means you aren’t enlightened like them.
Same niggas who compare every story where the truth about the world is obfuscated from the main cast to The Cave and think it’s the most brilliant observation, and think having watched 2001 makes them a film scholar.
genuinely really helpful, thank you. i'm gonna have to screenshot all this so i remember but i already feel like i know way more than i did before asking. i remember playing xbcx for the wiiu many years ago but i was in the middle of moving house and it kinda just fell off my radar and i never picked it back up again
Potential calculates how much HP you recover from Soul Voices and how much damage your TP arts deal.
While in Overdrive, every hit you deal to the enemy with an Art increases your Overdrive counter (big number in the middle). Your Overdrive counter serves as a multiplier for all of your various Overdrive bonuses (decreased enemy debuff resistance, decreased art cooldowns, heightened accuracy, more timer gained from using Green/Blue arts, etc.) and maxes out at 100 (the counter will show "MAX" instead of a number).
While in Overdrive, arts of certain colors have bonus effects and can also combo into other colors for additional effects, as illustrated in the top right of your hud
The most important to remember are:
Green arts (buffs) give you a little bit extra Overdrive timer and double the Overdrive counter gains of your next art.
Blue arts (auras) give a more significant amount of time to your Overdrive. If comboed into a Green art, you'll also be healed a little. If comboed into a Purple art, its associated debuff will last longer.
Purple arts (debuffs) will give you a certain amount of TP (maxing out at 1K TP at MAX Overdrive).
If you gain 3K TP while in Overdrive, you can spend it to use Overdrive again, extending your timer.
So your goal while in Overdrive is to reach MAX count early then either use Arts that let you gain 3K TP quick enough or spam Blue/Green arts to enter what is known as "Infinite Overdrive". Using gear/augments that raise your TP reserve, extend your base Overdrive timer or raise your Overdrive counter can be useful to ease you into using Overdrive more reliably.
Do we really have to give up hope for a more sci-fi approach to the next Xenoblade game? I like the fantasy settings of 1-3 but I do want to see more of something like X where the sci-fi is core to the setting instead of a last act plot twist
I think its dogshit that its RNG on what type of skills an armor set gets.
Ive been trying to get the same armor from a japanese player that has attack level sniper skills over 4.000 damage. I can never get that shit to drop.
And in using the highest drop rate skills.
I think I'm at around 96% I can't beat the tyrants so I gave up and stopped trying
The Potential stat determines how much HP you recover when you successfully hit the Soul Voice B-button QTE
This one is false. Hitting the B button always recovers a fixed percentage, potential will only affect recovery of responses(either yours or the AI's)
saving this as well thank you, what happens when you reach MAX overdrive and what about using yellow/orange skills in overdrive mode? someone mentioned combo green to yellow/orange is good but didn't say why
If you can craft an Ares 90, you can defeat the majority of tyrants without much trouble. It's just the few superbosses that'll give you trouble and need specialised grinding.
If you have online play, you can scout out Blades that are equipped with EXP boosters, then fast travel to FN site 204 in Noctilum, move south to the spot with loads of lizards, and less loose a Phoenix blast to oneshot them all and instantly boost their scout levels by 3 levels.
Then you go and release them and repeat the process.
Each round takes about 2 minutes and rewards 2300+ material tickets and 3 Bonjelium, which lets you craft all of the best shit like Weapon Power and Opening Art augments.
It's how you land 9,999,999 damage hits on tyrants, you make the level 60 skells and give them a Zenith cannon.
Neilnail is the only good addition in the Definitive Edition. Every other new thing fucking blows.
I'm not letting Lao move away from my party until I'm sure I've done all the missions that require him
All of his affinity missions are story requirements, you can't miss them.
What you can miss are his heart-to-hearts if you don't complete them before he leaves. They aren't needed for map completion though.
Just keep in mind that X doesn't have the Holy Trinity like other Xenoblade games. There's no need to bring Tanks/Healers, since, if geared correctly, everyone can tank and heal themselves as well.
You should pick your party members first by who has the lowest affinity with you -- so you can raise it up -- and then by who you like having around.
DId you 100% Mira?}
No, I did like 70%
What did you think of the epilogue?
meh, the story wasn't that good through the whole game anyways
What's your favourite Skell to use?
Lailah
Favourite discovery/memory with the game?
when you unlock the Flight Module is KINO.
IS still my second favorite game of the franchise.
When you're maxed out in Overdrive you no longer need to worry about building up your counter and just have to make sure the timer doesn't run out. Early in Overdrive you're trying to balance your survival, building up the OD counter, and keeping the OD going. Later on you can switch to arts that focus more on damage.
For example, early on it's inadvisable to use a Melee art into a Ranged art even if they have bonuses for doing so since you won't gain any points on the OD counter, but when you've maxed it out there's no reason to avoid switching from Melee to Ranged.
what happens when you reach MAX overdrive
It just means you're at the maximum level of your Overdrive bonuses multiplier.
someone mentioned combo green to yellow/orange is good but didn't say why
As Green arts double the OD counter gains of the next Art you use, using a multihit yellow or orange art after it, like Starfall Rondo or Zero-Zero, is generally a good idea.
Yellow/orange arts are simply your primary damage dealers, so while they don't have effects to help you maintain Overdrive like blue/green/purple arts do, they're most likely going to be the attacks you'll use to actually, you know, win the fight. Chaining 3 yellow arts in a row at least once in the Overdrive will boost your class exp gains at the end of the fight, while chaining 3 orange arts will boost your regular exp gains, but those combos don't really have an impact on the Overdrive itself.
I unironically think base X has the best story of any Xenoblade game but the epilogue ruins it all.
the story is too minimalist and straightforward, it is not a bad thing but the other games had a more engaging plot, the way this game is designed wasn't wise to have a very engaging plot.
The epilogue definitely kinda ruins the mystery.
Whilst in overdrive, you can review what the effects of any sequences are.
Using a green art followed by orange (melee) or yellow (ranged) art doubles the hits that add to your overdrive counter, which makes it a lot easier to hit maximum overdrive.
Long Swords have multiple melee arts that hit multiple times, and pair well with green arts, even if the green art offers no benefit whilst you're working to max that counter.
Spamming Melee arts will increase the EXP you earn, spamming ranged arts will increase the class EXP.
Base X barely has a story.
DId you 100% Mira?
That and beyond.
What did you think of the epilogue?
Meh, felt too silly for me at the beginning to the point I couldn't take it seriously, warmed up more to it toward the end.
What's your favorite Skell to use?
Ares90 due to its size and mobility, having half the screen unavailable due to the sheer size of Excavator was a pain.
Favorite discovery/memory with the game?
Exploring and the sights, there's just something great about running through Mira.
I think we will have to wait for the next X related game to be sure if the game epilogue was the right call.
All I want is an upgraded Ares Prime.
Shit's too fun to move with to be stuck with such garbage stats.
I did 100% back in April
pretty game
there's no reason to avoid switching from Melee to Ranged
I think you lose the OD damage boost if you do that, only temporarily but still.
X has like 100 hours of sidequests. Don't tell me you two are only considering the plot.
Sylvalum is definitely the prettiest continent even if I think it's one of the worst to explore
Do you think the Hraesvelg is a demo of what traversal options there might be in the next Xenoblade game?
Well, considering the mechs in X did nothing for the traversal in 2, I doubt it. If there's another X game, they're going to have to figure out how to balance the game around flight being available from the start. I don't think that's possible so they'll probably can skells either entirely or at least until significant story progress. Like, maybe they ran out of Miranium and don't have any ability to get skells functioning until a similar fuel is found.
no
didn't reach it
didn't unlock skells
I don't remember
That's a shame.
THE EPILOGUE RUINED THE MYSTERY
THE EPILOGUE RUINED THE MYSTERY
Yes.
Isn't an epilogue supposed to spoil the point of the story to leave you guessing till you're done with the game?
Mira is a purgatory of sorts lmao
Elma got psych'd, souls are actually a thing and her end game discussion got bullied, she's really talking to real people all this time
Big ring? Qlu shit
Void? Samaarian shit
Yes Mira is in another dimension, here's the reason [EXTREME GARBAGE HALF ASSED EXPLANATION THAT RUINS THE CONCEPT OF UNIVERSES AND INTER-DIMENTIONAL TRAVEL]
Ghosts are space jannies WITH ABSURD UNIVERSE WIDE NUKES THAT SHOULD HAVE GIVEN THEM INFINITE POWER OVER THE GANGLION AND EVERYONE ELSE, MAKING THE OPENING WAR FUCKING POINTLESS AS ALL FUCK
literally no explanation over other alien races other than that they're on Mira because of a space anomaly or just randomly landed there like Neilnal, the inter-dimentional excuse has no builld up and makes no sense
Funny rectangle (purple)
Universal translation? What do you mean that we need an excuse for them to keep speaking english or japanese when they're in another planet???? huh????????
I am NOT OK with them saccing Mira. I am NOT ok with the multiverse excuse. I am NOT ok with the universe wide bombs.
The Ghost could've been a cool antagonist race for a 2nd Xenoblade X game instead of just being mindless Time Jannies (Xenoblade edition). Them being able to hop universes and the other Xenoblade universes being parallel to X's universe means that the Ghost are now a series spanning threat that could just come and nuke Alrest or Aionios or etc.
While the DE did a lot of good things for the game (reducing augment costs dramatically, double jump to fly, fixing the faces), every addition was to X's detriment.
Some of you just made up retarded fanfiction in your heads over the past decade.
"everybody laughs moments"
L being a total faggot and out of place, Celica totally absent.
The epilogue doesn't just debunk all the theories floating around, it character assassinates half the cast.
It doesn't really work when the epilogue was never the intended conclusion, but a lazy way to fold everything into one 10 years after the fact.
