I was led to believe this game was some amazing piece of art where the creator had a strong vision and went through hell to make it a reality, digging deeper I've found that:
he didn't even know what the story was going to be, he found the writer from Reddit who came up with this story
90% of the game's assets/scripts were bought from marketplace
when you're standing on the edge of a cliff looking at those ocean waves clashing around and that breathtaking vista and sky, all of the things you're seeing are stock assets bought from the marketplace
the whole battle system is built on top of a JRPG battle template, things like climbing walls via the hooks that you can grab is also a marketplace script because they couldn't be bothered to even do that
And people wonder why no one considers games as a serious art form. Imagine if you went to see a movie and the whole movie was just a collection of clips from other movies spliced together.
