UE5 game

UE5 game

looks amazing

no shimmering, texture popping, or stuttering

runs at a stable framerate without any upscaling on low end hardware

who is responsible for the mass gaslighting campaign that convinced people it's an engine problem and not just lazy, incompetent devs?

Because using a public engine instead of your own is already lazy, which means the engine will attract mostly lazy devs and corporations, so people think it's an engine problem

who is responsible for the mass gaslighting campaign that convinced people it's an engine problem and not just lazy, incompetent devs?

pajeets

Why'd they waste all that talent on a blvck woman? They don't sell

it's not about laziness you retard, devs aren't gonna get paid more for working an an inhouse engine, companies switch to commercial engine to save costs and these companies are certainly not going to spend money on game optimizations.

If you disable nanite, lumen and do things the old way then yeah it can run game decently. Its still a shit engine running on top of ancient c++ spaghetti code though.

Clair obscur wasn't made by a corpo and they reduced the drawing distance by 70% instead of optimizing the game, i said lazy AND corporations to include everyone

It's gaslighting that pajeets are given the simplest tools that they only need to follow a recipe to make work but still fuck things up, forcing delays and more work on the only competent team left behind

sarr ur hard drive too slow you dont have the 18gb vram for the needful

not using a public engine

This isn’t 2005 unfortunately. People in the games industry are very tech illiterate. The last time I saw a company create a brand new engine from the ground up was when 343 spent $500,000,000 on the slipspace engine and then they couldn’t even figure out how to utilize it well for Infinite. UE5 and even Unity are just better options all around.

is that your "good" example? because it has the same muted lighting look that all UE5 games have. It looks like the pic was taken during a partial eclipse

I could run that game on Medium on everything but Textures, which I turned to High at 60FPS in 1440P on my 3060.
The game runs at 30FPS on PS5.

No matter how much you armchair faggots bitch about not making your own engine for every game, fact is games already take forever to be made these days even with public engines, the more time spent actually building the game instead of having to build out your entire engine and retrain all the hires, the better.

what gaem?

when you shill a game you are supposed to put the name somewhere so i can find it

not just making your own engine

lazy / tech illiterate

you've never written code and you've definitely never been part of a team getting paid to write code as part of a larger organization. if you think games take a long time to develop now, just wait until every studio inexplicably decides to hire huge engineering departments so that they can rewrite vast software libraries for no reason

That's not the point i was making, i meant the engine attracts people willing to cut corners, and they always cut corners, you don't have to make your own engine if you use the public engine as intended

who is responsible for the mass gaslighting campaign that convinced people it's an engine problem and not just lazy, incompetent devs?

Nodevs and Digital Foundry cultists

south of midnight

Shit bait i'm never playing unreal slop 5 engines games not a single game using that garbage is good and they all have shit performance because of the engine

ok so how is the gameplay

Goalpost moving

Isnt digital foundry the major industry buttlickers

i'm actually curious. i just looked it up and it looks kind of floaty

Lighting attenuation and brightness are restricted by the engine, please ignore the overly bright and saturated games on the engine that disprove me

Lmao god damn you fucking retard nodevs just never stop

343s problem with slipspace was that everyone that they had make the engine was like contractors and the fired them all once the engine was done and the remaining people had no idea how to use it so it was basically worthless thats why they are swapping to UE or whatever

is there mods to replace the mc?

they put the mid in midnight, but the story, visuals and music are great so I don't care, especially since it's on gamepass

every day i move closer to actually subscribing to gamepass
it would be nice to play everything but not owning it is gay

Microsoft bought the studio and then hired Sweet Baby Inc. to consult on the game for them.
Pic rel was the original MC before they were made to remake her.

Me, I'm the doing that.
My name is Marty K. Cross and I absolutely hate the company Epic with every fiber of my body. Thus I have made it my personal mission in life to sabotage their operations. This includes defaming their creations and being as misleading about it as humanly possible.
I am the #1 source of fear, uncertainty and doubt about Unreal Engine and I do not intend to stop for the time being.

First and foremost they are primarily 3 guys who have never worked a single day in game dev who portray themselves as an authority on game dev and most retard nuPc Gaymers™ obey their word as if it's the word of God.

Their "in house Unreal expert" Alex has never worked as a game dev and has by his own admission never worked on any project whatsoever with Unreal, not even a hobby project. He has never once used Unreal outside of testing things for the purpose of writing Digital Foundry scripts. He's their "expert"

He's also the mongoloid that coined "traversal stutter" because he's too clueless to know the term for what actually causes the stutter (PSO generation) so any time you see anyone online say that term, you know they're a clueless DF parrot and can immediately disregard anything they have to say

she looks like a crackhead

yeah yeah except somehow every UE5 game manages to fuck up lighting
prove me wrong

What the FUCK Marty???

Devs are lazy and incompetent BECAUSE UE5 is so easy to use. Game development used to require competent people to even make something that functions

nigger protag

So close yet so far, maybe next time OP

>not using a public engine

This isn’t 2005 unfortunately.

Bro even well before then many classic games used licensed engines: Half-Life, Deus Ex, Blood, Hexen/Heretic, etc

game devs aren't lazy or incompetent. 95% of studios simply have no reason to hire tons of software engineers and task them with writing shader libraries because they can just use an already-existent product for pennies instead. and when you adopt UE5 or Unity you also get a huge ecosystem of knowledge and third-party plugins and compatibility tools and access to support teams who can address technical issues during development

the people who are actually good at hard math software cost >$150k/year, are autistic, and if they ever quit in a huff they can torpedo entire projects. it's a no-brainer from a business standpoint

Bro even well before then many classic games used licensed engines: Half-Life, Deus Ex, Blood, Hexen/Heretic, etc

and Source is literally just a quake fork. people love to talk shit when they have no idea what's going on. dudes who flip burgers for $11/hr will log on to Anon Babble.org/r/videogames and complain about how the competency crisis is making their video games ugly because lazy devs don't just want to write shaders

People that regurgitate this trite will waste their time inventing their own computer language, or a function only to end up making shit that is redundant or less efficient than what already exists.

The story and the gameplay were really boring.

The extremely vast number of incompetent devs and the lack of good UE5 games mostly.

>looks amazing

For a 2012 game maybe.

average looking still image with low draw distance

waow!

Everyone working on that engine from beginning to release was a contractor that stuck around for only 6 months. Most of that time was spent just learning how it worked only to have thier contract up right when they could finally be useful.

Most games are a play once and move on kind of deal, so if you have a lot of free time, you can finish a lot of single player campaign games in a month. But if you fall into the trap of getting hooked on a roguelite or similar game with tons of replayability, then you'll be wasting money you could have used to actually buy said game.

I think it's more a case of

ue5 is easy for devs to use so you can expect devs using it to be lazy and put out shit

being abbreviated into

ue5 is shit

than a gaslighting campaign

Oh, is that south of Nignight?
