The idea is that Kris is the only one that knows right now. It would explain why multiple characters tell Kris to tell Asriel things for them, implying that he's the only one apparently in consistent contact with him.

Personally, the only way I see the theory having any legs is if OMORI was the game Toby was worried about being too similar to Deltarune, which is a common thought to be fair. It's just hard for me to believe that Toriel, as overbearing as she is, wouldn't be in consistent contact with Asriel.

I think susies role in the legend is to absorb kris's soul and become powerful enough to fight the angel. But if a monster absorbed a human soul that was willingly working with them, they'd be near unstoppable. When ralsei is in prison with kris and when susie goes inside noelles room, ralsei elaborates on this to kris, making sure they understand why it's so important to keep susie involved.

I think that a dark world would only work outside at night. We exit the castle town dark world through a beam of light and both dark world rooms have no windows or other means of letting light in naturally during the day. Chapter 2's dark world lightened up almost immediately after getting sealed so maybe the dark fountain can suppress small amounts of light.

My schizo theory is that the only ending is The Roaring, but what the roaring actually does is based on who opens the dark fountains. Jumping from chapter to chapter will be the only way to get to Dess, the real knight. I see Dess and Kris as Lucas and Claus from Mother 3, their determination and reasons for creating dark fountains will determine how The Roaring reforms the world, and I think undertale is the result of one of those endings. A world where everything goes on as normal, except someone doesn't exist.

Darkners are not naturally opposed to lightners and King is just a massive outlier

King's animosity towards lightners sets the expectation for the player and the characters that darkners are some "enemy force" to be defeated every time.

The Queen backs down when she finds out that opening fountains is bad for everyone, but the King doesn't change his goal of opposing lightners no matter what

Meaning the Queen's goal might actually have been something else, along the lines of but not necessarily, "Make Noelle/lightners happy" and she had some inkling that opening more fountains would do it, but it's not her priority.
