I admit I don't know shit about the Japanese demographic and labor situation, but I presume given the stereotypical Japanese person is a workaholic that a not insignificant number of Japan's 60+ age people are still contributing in some way or another, but to put it simply, too many old people is a problem that solves itself.
Again, I'm not saying Japan should just go full anti-natalist, but assuming they are at least managing to break even on their population then having that group of 60+ people slowly die off due to old age, (and in Japan I seem to recall hearing the average max age is pretty up there), the burden they place on society will also be reduced. Assuming the government actually takes steps to make sure that their entire economy isn't reliant on nursing homes and attempts to streamline as many things as reasonably possible with automation, government programs, etc, I don't see why a stable population instead of one with huge "baby boomer" waves and, 80 years later, huge geriatric populations is a bad thing especially in a country as crowded as Japan.

It might be different if Japan was some kind of undeveloped wasteland that needs hordes of manual labor just to get the basic infrastructure for first-world living conditions going, but Japan is one of the most developed nations in the world.

The only reason that kind of game became associated with Japan is because they kept doing them in that incredibly simple style (especially since they needed to for their games to work on inferior Japanese console hardware), whereas the West evolved the turn-based RPG medium into the much better CRPG. The fact that we kept learning and doing more is also why, whenever the West deigns to return to the old style, we blast past any Japanese game and utterly sweep.

That caused the FFX style JRPG to die and the genre to in retreat onto mobile devices like the DS and PSP wile its big AAA top of the line franchise for the JRPG in FF abandoned that FFX style after FFX.

Most of the Nip ones are still stuck in a Japan is Main priority mentality which obviously doesn't play well with a global audience that doesn't want to wait two years to see what the Japanese market is getting to see already.

There are definitely hardships that will be placed on the younger population. All those old folks don't wanna hear that the government can no longer pay their pension, so every politician will pony up to them, the largest voting population, at the expense of the youth. Is not real for 90% of the developed world. Europe have more forest than in the past, rural population is crashing and the countryside is getting depopulated.
And it's missing the two biggest points:
1- More people means more good things. All it takes is one guy to find a cure to cancer, if (all else equal) we have twice the population, then the odds of curing cancer are double.
2- More people means economy of scale. Imagine an extreme world of 1000 people. The output of, say, vidya (since we are on Anon Babble) would be orders of magnitude lower than in ours, because only a fraction would be interested in making games, and only a fraction of these games would be of any interest to you. Now imagine we are in a world with twice the population, and suddenly you have twice (over twice actually, because jobs dedicated to basic need would benefit from economy of scale too) the number of people working on making games, and twice the number of games being released. And since digitalization means that a few dozen people making a game can make it available for billions of other, everyone gets twice the available choice.

And finally, niggers will breed like monkey anyway, so if you don't want a planet of the ape, we better breed ourself away from extinction.

People never liked JRPGs for being Japanese, they just liked the cool melodrama and charismatic (in a cartoon way) characters, hence the success of E33.
Like, the entire Dragon Quest series is ostensibly as Japanese as you can get with popular JRPGs. It's set in a very European medieval fantasy and uses fairy tale ideas (like the Queen being replaced by a monster, or the dragon kidnapping a princess), but most of its tropes and narrative quirks are Japanese in nature. How its stories function on a grander level are Japanese, that's why people fucking hate DQXI's story outside of Japan.

But something like Final Fantasy VII, VIII, X? Those are far closer to Western storytelling styles and the use of heavy melodrama and dramatic characters makes it come all the way around to being adored.
That's also why the later FFs all failed to capture people in a similar way, as they drop one of those key elements (and ironically, the most western inspired one forgot to have real substantive characters alongside its dose of melodrama).
For another example, the most successful RPG series of all time is Pokemon. Pokemon, as it is released in English, is not Japanese in the slightest beyond a few niche designs and the occasional unlocalized region name.

The most popular JRPGs within Japan are Dragon Quest and Pokemon, two franchises that have barely changed since their debuts now 40 and 30 years ago.

The only JRPG series that has any really presence in the West right now is Persona and that's more for its daily life mechanics than anything else, Metaphor got a lot of buzz because it was made by the Persona devs
