Kowloon Highschool Chronicle - Stationery Supression

I got a request saying

Purification Place, Sharp tail, Stationery Supression

I'm at the Purification Shoal, I know this is the place because the music changed. I know Sharp Tail is referring to the scorpions because they're the only enemy that appear in this room. Yet I've tried multiple times Killin the enemy with an eraser, box cutter and chalk but none of these have counted for the quest so far even though they're from the stationery category.
What am I doing wrong? Do I need to only use stationery attacks although the other specific weapon quests don't work this way? I've been at this for like a half hour and I haven't been able to figure it out.
Does anyone that has played this game know how to beat this quest?

Will the other games by the staff ever get a translation?

Ark System Works are pretty inconsistent so who knows, but we're probably never getting the Atlus content re-released again

I don't think I've ever finished a single stationery suppression quest, I always rerolled

try a pencil .

i have the only completed long play of this game on youtube. took me 150hours on hard. 20 videos at ~8hours each
the rosetta society quests give you the best items. youll regret not having the best gun and best armor i came across, but i bet your just playing on normal anyway

nows the time to ask if you have a question

Does this have anything to do with Kowloon the city?

I'm on the 5th chapter of the game (the game has 13 chapters I think?) and so far no, there's a bar called Kowloon but that's it, but with Kowloon in the title and the school having a mysterious Chinese teacher I assume the Kowloon city will somehow connect to the lore eventually but I have no way of confirming that yet.
At the point I am so far in the story is connecting Japanese mythology with ancient Egyptian myths in pretty interesting ways. The main setting is that you're a treasure hunter infiltrated into a shady school that gets transfer students and new staffers all the time, beneath the School's cemetery there's a massive catacomb with Egyptian and Japanese imagery where all the dungeon crawling takes place.

there's only two hentai doujins of this game

why is this game so obscure?

It's weird because it was popular enough to get a stage play adaptation

Kowloon thread

Fuck yeah. This is one of the most underrated dungeon crawlers ever.

Some of the requests are mistranslated. You're doing everything right according to the rules so that might be one of them. Better check the guide that has the answers for every quest listed out.

Rika ending is only in the untranslated PS2 version

It's not fair

creepiest part of the game for me was the first act when Creepy Pale Student uses his dark evil powers and sucks the lifeforce out of a girls hands, basically leaving her deformed for life.
By the end of this chapter the protags 'beat' him and he sees the error of his ways and next thing you know everyone's friends. I am left appalled that he was allowed to continue like normal. Like "it was just a prank bro". Really felt bothered by this detail. No mention of it ever again or remorse that i can remember.

I'll beat this someday... Some games need to wait in my backlog for a few years...

took me 2 years

at a certain point in the game i feel like you can no longer rely on leveling up and it becomes really focused on the gear youve uncovered

Idk how long it is for me. Ever since the video essay came out.
Bayonetta and Valkirya Chronicles are sitting on my drive since they got ported to PC. I also have movies Brazil and Das Boot sitting on that hard disk for 10 years.

After beating it. It took so much time and effort that i dont know if i can do it again for a second playthrough. i was utterly mentally drained. the game does seem like it could be different depending on stats and social coverssations, but yeah....

I don't think the core plot actually differs that much but character interactions do change a lot depending on your actions from my understanding

i choose tennis team since i was in tennis in high school. i think i found arrows with a crossbow and then never saw arrows again. couldnt buy thm or craft them. i was thinking my class locked me out of that item. probably had to join archery club i was assuming

The PS2 version had more branching elements with a different main ending and character endings for every party member, but the Switch / PC release isn't a port of that version, it's a port of the original PC game.
Before you ask the devs said they did that because porting the PS2 version would've cost too much and they didn't have the funds for it plus they wanted to make the original version more accessible.

You can buy arrows from the store after raising the English skill high enough, I think. That or they were a common quest reward because I had plenty by the end of the game.

BASED!

This is the best thread on Anon Babble. I need to play it more as I git distracted with stuff while doing the dungeon involving the high schooler that looks like a doll.

is this a weg

translate Kowloon finally

decide to translate the version with less content

Biggest Monkey Paw I have ever seen.

This is basically what happens every time you encounter a newboss in kowloon on hard

this was a comfy thread, good night Anon Babble and thank you

Jesus Christ, I relied fully on the turn heal ability if the guide, that must be a bitch of a first boss fight on hard since that boss room is particularly small

you hide behind the pillars on the side to stay out of his line of sight, then shoot and hide.
