Tainted Gail: Fall of Avalon

More like Taint n' Fail amirite lads?
game is so fucking fun despite a whole host of shortcomings

WE HAD A GOOD THING AUTHER
YOU WOULD COME BACK FROM THE DEAD AUTHER

STOP THE WRYDNESS AUTHER
BUT YOU WANTED IT TO STOP AUTHER
YOU FUCKED IT ALL UP AUTHER

every game with Fall in the title fails

anyone actually manage to complete the word is silent side quest?

I do it for him lads, I do it for him...

well i didn't vote for 'im

Why is act 3 so bad? Is the game still in early access? I thought it had its retail release last week.

Why is act 3 so bad? Is the game still in early access?

Just like Baldur's gate 3. Noticed a trend yet?

Hot take: I don't give a fuck about Act 3 because by then I like the scenery, am level 50+, am God, and am ready to wrap it up anyways

want to do a mage run after my 2h run

remember that I'd have to suffer through boring late-game at some point

I got bored after 2 hours
Tell me whats going to happen
is arthur a good or a bad guy

Reloaded and blasted his face with fireballs as he slowly walked towards me as I was backing away.
Finally some relative peace and quiet at night.

Is Act 3 Larian levels of unfinished/buggy, or "this is still alpha levels" unfinished

It's just empty as fuck. You could do the main quest by just walking into the last dungeon and killing hard enemies and that's one of the intended ways to finish it. It takes like 15 minutes too.

holy fuck, thanks. Why the fuck is that item able to be sold?

It plays it straight
Arthurs mother is daijobu
Arthur isn't daijobu, but he acts correctly
Merlin is daijobu
But Camelot isn't.

The real Arthur was a conflicted guy with good intentions. I wouldn't call him good because he was a conqueror king even before coming to Avalon and is alluded to having his fare share of genocides. Next Arthurs were basically just isolated aspects of him. Current Arthur is torn between being depressed and wanting to die because all he did was pointless in the grand scheme of things (arguably justified) and wanting to do the last hurrah and try to fix everything through excessive force and mass executions (arguably justified).

I'm enjoying it. I actually like Act 2 more than Act 1 right now

Is there even any good loot in act 3 besides shining ray or whatever? Any good armor set or weapons? Accessories?

Just got to Act 2 and realised there's a whole new map of baddies to bonk with my big hammer

Feels good lads

Before level 15 my melee build sucked ass but by lvl 30 bosses barely lasted 2 minutes. Those life steal potions are broken

Are Children of Morrigan the Dark Brotherhood equivalent for this game?

I'm going crazy, in Act 3 I got a quest from a guy called Sigvord to find his grave and now I can't find the fucker again. There was no marker for the quest, no marker for the location even after entering it and now there's no marker of where the guy is to hand the quest in. I can't remember where the hell he was.

I know he was down the cliffside and I've been up and down this cliff four times and he is nowhere

I found him, but there is no dialogue so I can't finish the quest. I guess it was broken from the start

lol died like a bitch

is there an upgraded poison spell? not a huge fan of plinking away at people with the starter venom glob but i refuse to stop beeing a bee mage

I wonder where I'm going

there are other poison spells, yeah

Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne

Both choices are awful, but I think I'll side with Galahad.

I wish I agreed with you OP

that's okay, you can join all the other Anon Babblebrowns in not playing games and seething at them all day long instead. It must be fun too or there wouldn't be so many of them

The game is simply really good euro jank. I've had no bugs or issues aside from memory leak so I need to restart the game after several hours when my fps begins to dip. Act 3 I've had a few crashes on zone transitions but always when I've been doing stuff in the background

I love the game but it has by far the worst fishing I've seen in a video game. I'm convinced its entirely glitched if not an intentional troll by the devs.

My only issue with the game is I'm always worried if I go into a cave or pick up some item that it will brick a quest at some point

What do you mean? It's not super complex, sure, but it's very easy.

I just installed the console and have been able to add in two missing quest items I sold by mistake

The only thing I bricked that way was the The First Men quest. If you save/reload inside the cave you despawn the npc you need to interact with. It's stupid and doesn't react when you press E, you need to get at it from a specific angle to get the dialogue.

You don't catch anything, it's always just garbage

I had fun, clocked in 46 hours to do basically everything that wasn't broken. I think the key to avoiding breaking quests is to instantly run to all the towns when you enter a new zone.
I used Lancelot's gear for the entire remainder of the game once I got it, it was kind of lame how there's basically nothing at all in Act 3 except Arthur's set but oh well. I was already a murdering machine at that point effortlessly killing everything.

is the mana ward talent in wands worth it? 30% means 30% of damage is taken from my mana and 70% from HP, right?

Poor baby, did your Eurojank AI bug out in the abandoned village? Get fucked. No mercy.

anything around a dollar per hour or greater is worth it in my book

I highly doubt you did everything in 46 hours. I'm nearing that and have a ton of shit left.

I've had the druid site followup quest bug, due talking in NPCs in wrong order
Its also possible to navigate the dialogue trees wrong, locking you out of going deep enough.

game is so fucking fun despite a whole host of shortcomings

The feeling and feedback of melee combat is really good in that game. This along can easily carry an otherwise unremarkable game.

So what's the deal with weapon progression? Are there progressively stronger weapons, or they all drop somewhat same and scale through upgrading?
In act 2 now and so far I can't find anything remotely comparable to a 2h hammer I've found in some random chest in the middle of act 1.

it's funny to me Anon Babble is the place most constructively discussing this game, the steam forums are absolutely shitting on it

this is the first time im hearing that steam forums are even a thing.

the steam forums are absolutely shitting on it

they do that with every game. As bad as Anon Babble can be with the new brown residents and Discord homos shitting the place up, the Steam forums is neigh unusable for most games. It's all poorfags crying about price, piratetards crying about Denuvo, culturewar retards crying about everything, and clown farmers.

Yes to the first, but also yes to the second. You can upgrade some shit you find early on to beat the whole game on the highest difficulty. The weapon you're talking about is probably Big Bonk which is great. Lancelel's sword is better though, and the electric hammer from the tomb is probably better too.

a lot of brown console owners aren't happy about the PS5 performance

the plague is the result of some grieving foredweller mother

Oh great. For the terrible crime of existing in the vicinity of someone else, thousands will now die a horrible death and be turned into plague zombies.

I'm thinking Merlin was right. All foredwellers need to be exterminated. Total annihilation is the only way to prevent shit like this from ever happening again. Arthur and his morals can go to hell.

It's a nice view

Well that's not the Steam forum's problem and as much as I want to say

lol cucksoles

people do have a right to complain if they get a Cyberpunk tier console release (I had almost no bugs on PC at launch, was on a 2080 Super at the time).

cool spoilertags bro

Arthur is the one who told Merlin to go full Dr Mengele on the forerunners

Why does it take 5 minutes for me to save the game?

fucking fog

I finished all the quests I was able to finish that didn't have bugs. I skipped the majority of the text when talking to people. I wasn't able to finish the Stonewarden's stuff but I did all the Royal Geographers and Children of Morrigans stuff. If you let every single NPC fully voice their lines that probably adds like 5 hours to the game.

Do summons scale with Spirituality or do I just have to find better and better summon spells?

I don't think anything "scales" with spirituality.
Spellpower is what you're asking about, and the answer is no, not to my knowledge. Being a caster is all about having the spellcost reduction wand from the wreck of the andraste and having a big mana pool.

After that just invest the perk points and find better summon spells.

titanium vein in act 1

Never noticed that before.

there's a perk that does that yes

Do you guys think this works with spells? I can't really tell and I'm out of Origin pots

To my knowledge it does work with spells as well.

so I had one more in storage and tested it on this bandit boss in the first area (I stopped one shotting guys when I got here) and it took the same about of Merlin Thorns to kill him with and without it from what I can tell.
I have decent crit so I can't say for sure, but between that and the monsters all running up to you at rocket speed, I'm probably just going to take the points out. Most combat against bosses is in little ass arenas anyways like Galahad or the Mistweaver.

When you in a boss fight and your low on health and also out of healing potions so you result to use up all those random throwing daggers and throwable potions you gathered throughout the game at them while slowly healing by stuffing your face in with those meals you cooked

Is it possible to disable the FUCKING fog? I just got to the third area and I can't see anything even during the day.

That's the 15% reduction one, right? Or is there a better one?

That's the one at the Wreck, yes. The mana cost reduction increases when you upgrade the wand.

mana cost reduction increases when you upgrade the wand

Very nice. I've seriously been neglecting upgrading my gear. Hopefully there's a weapon gem to boost magic damage that I can slap on there.
Thanks

Marrowghasts are animals

There something nice about Act 2's landscape compare to Act 1, maybe it due to the lighting and the fields of wheat give it a pleasant look

Although my only complaint is the town itself with the ancient roman style aesthetic and the ai slop art they plastered on every wall

Unfortunately, it seems like the fog that's annoying me is "baked in". It does work on some types of fog though. The mod does let you turn off lens flare and the annoying particles that are constantly orbiting the player, so that's nice.

When the roman empire left the isles, they wouldn't exactly have taken all their buildings with them, you know?

Anyone got item ids for the King Arthur set?

throwing daggers/potions have saved me multiple time. Never underestimate the power of random bullshit.

Are you a retard or something?

The steam forums are entirely overrun by faggot dweebs posting LGBT fag bait posts on every single game and that's literally it. Hilarious though that warframes tranny devs posted a pride month announcement and it got over 1000 jester awards and was locked like within minutes.

No fag still playing on a console has a right to complain a out shit. They've made the choice at this point to play the nigger tier way and forgo getting a pc, they have to just deal with it

I've heard this game be described as like a Euro jank version of Skyrim. Is that true?

nigger tier way

no I'm pretty sure that's a 10 year old GPU and pirating all games on a potato with more viruses than a Holland whore i.e. most of Anon Babble

No it's 1000% playing on gaystation with the shitty mic built into the controller always hotmicing while the smoke alarm chirps in the background and there's like 50 people in their house all being loud as fuck, and they're also eating fucking pringles directly into the microphone.

nah sorry Pedro McFrijoles but even a Snoystation is better than your 15 year old PC that is weaker than a Raspberry PI. Be grateful I even bothered to talk to such a peasant.

Console ports have for like the last 5 years consistently been the better optimized ports for basically every game. I'm not sure what your schizo ass is even on about here.

I want to use cubes but I have not found any good ones.

there's a quest about the developers seething at online armor enthusiasts shitting on scale mail

there's a quest about the moral implications of masturbation

I got to act 2 and I am finding fireball endless is pretty boring. Do you think it's too late to swap to melee skill-wise? My magic is at like 90

thought i could sneak into forlorn swords for magic rape ray early

arthur whines we're not done here yet

reeee

I kinda want to like this game but the jank is too much for me. The last straw wasn't even jank-related but how scary the dungeons and the battle music are. The bloodlake dungeon had constant jumps from the bloodmonsters. The monsters themselves weren't scary but the jumps and music with the jumps had me.
Now that I think about it I don't understand how I managed to play through Skyrim and Oblivion

How about finishing Act 3 first.

wake up in the mansion during act 2

immediately explore it hoping to find NPCs

stumble across tablet

eventually finally managed to trigger the bookshop owner's quest properly because giving her the tablet before it started didn't give any reward nor trigger the quest

go down the cool abyssal thing in the lake

entire fucking dark souls area

"here's what you came for, bro"

hands me half of a tablet

have no idea what it is because all I did since waking up in the mansion was side-quests

go inside the spooky doorway in the swamp

another big area full of enemies and loot

the end of it is the other half of the tablet and I still have no idea what it's for

told to fetch stuff for a wyrd bread recipe

come back with the stuff

can't interact with the guy, quest broken

I do like the game but the amount of wandering has been burning me out and I hear you have to find some secret places around the world map to unlock an ending and I don't want to backtrack through entire maps (I already got through one place) and I'm worried that all the possible online guides about their location will spoil the shit out of the ending because they're AI-generated.

593.png - 291x268, 110.97K

worth it

also in a previous thread there were some people posting their builds, some of them had a ring equipped with this big red gem on it. i'm almost finished with the story and i realized i don't have this ring, anyone know what i'm talking about and where to get it?

dgfhs.jpg - 2560x1440, 370.77K

This one? I found it in a chest in Act 1.
Can't remember which one.

file.jpg - 2560x1440, 624.62K

ahh yeah, must've missed that one. Not worth it to go back for at this point but thanks anyways.

In Welsh legend, Myrddin Wyllt (one of the sources for Merlin of Arthurian legend) is associated with threefold death. As a test of his skill, Merlin is asked to prophesy how a boy will die. He says the boy will fall from a rock. The same boy, with a change of clothes, is presented again, and Merlin prophesies that he will hang. Then, dressed in a girl's clothes, the boy is presented, and Merlin replies, "Woman or no, he will drown." As a young man, the victim falls from a rock during a hunt, is caught in a tree, and drowns hanging head down in a lake.

AAACK!!!

i heard that the latter half of the game is rushed and undercooked, but that the game is good anyways.

should i buy it? is there any tranny shit in it?

The bread quest fixed itself for me; not sure if it was because of the latest patch or because at one point I lost most of the materials from dropping them into my stash and found the needed materials out in the wild again.

Pretty spoiler free list of the stuff for the true ending: steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3487014937

Thanks! I have no idea how the fuck you're supposed to find all of those locations in a blind playthrough.

The tombs in the first two acts I found on my own, the one in act 3 though is up in some asscrack canyon

God I hate the Scottish accent. "Nothing ever happens", my brother in Christ I am going to murder every single one of you faggots when I'm done with your quests.

Vrell is the fucking worst, sounds like she's straining to shit perpetually

finding them isn't too bad, remember where they were when you're able to finally access them is harder. I forgot about the weaver place even though I went to all the tombs so I guess I missed the ending

Can you kill the ugly lizard baby?

It's unintentionally amusing that you can find those two people in the starting dungeon with their own character entries and you don't encounter them for 2 entire acts afterwards

Arthur secretly being the son of the White Lady foredweller king who was reincarnated as a human is interesting but the fact that you can fix both the weirdness and red death plus bring a new golden age by discovering this sort of takes away from the theme of the game. You can just fix everything. Also it’s weird that Arthur doesn’t really comment on this

seriously why would I choose the other endings beyond just curiosity if there's an objectively best one that solves fucking everything?

There's some bugs that interrupt side quests progress. They've been hammering them out, but one of the bigger ones in Act 3 that's kind of tied into the main quest where you have the option of bringing tribes together to figure out a problem still has issues. There is an option to just continue the main quest without it, but it's still kind of obnoxious. Overall I think it's still pretty good and worth the money, but I'd suggest either waiting a week or two for more bug fixes. If you wanted to play now, you could also probably minimize the chances for bugs by bee lining to NPCs in cities, knocking out the quests, and then save exploring until after, but that's probably just an obnoxious way to play as opposed to exploring however you feel like. Also the only tranny shit is that you can tell one merchant right out of the tutorial that you're the opposite gender, but it treats it as lying (you have to pass a skill check) and I don't think it's ever referenced again.

The idea is probably that it’s supposed to be hard to find and get, but it fails because it’s easy. You find most of the stuff wandering around without trying.

The secret ascension ending in Pathfinder Wrath of the Righteousness is a good contrast. Finding it by accident is hard and it’s difficult to achieve so it feels earned if you found it on second play through or more likely looked it up alike

You aren't fixing anything. You are restoring things to how they should be from the start. It's Merlin and his drunks that are the cause of this fall.

If most of the issues are getting fixed with updates, then I'll wait a few months until the game is in as good a shape as it can be.

just look goofy as shit now after looking cool in act 1

can't bring myself to take off the crit hat

Elden Ring all over again

damn.jpg - 3440x1440, 446.99K

You can hide your headpiece, anon.

The best mage set is a dress which is funny if you’re playing a male mage

At the very least the secret ending should require a hard boss fight. Maybe against Arthur’s foredweller side without access to your Arthur powers.

Can't wait for mod support, mute annoying bastards who yap the same quote over and over again

why do they make cute girl noises...

Because they're my harem.

damn wiki for this game is abysmal. Does anyone remember where you get the greatsword that scales with your current mana? Was it from the queen in act 2? Thinking of doing 2hand + summons

oh boy it is cobweb farman time

Summons seem to have a hard time with friendly NPCs that are scripted to become hostile.

the greatsword that does more damage if your mana is drained, you get it from the queen of the underwater castle as part of the main story in act 2.

there's a +1 version somewhere too with 5% crit

pretty shitty ring overall though compared with the competition

There's also a +2 version with +7% crit.

So whats your type?

graol.png - 779x1170, 1.3M

Big bonk

My niggah!

have you guys found the random ass chair in act 3 with the void knights? that place was weird as hell. apparently it's an easteregg about their previous game.

I have 100% crit chance so I don't really need it anyway.

I just have to stay at sub 13% HP for that but it's been worth it so far 100% crit chance
+100% crit damage
+100% spell pwer
+25 mana regen
+100 mana

Just need to not get hit.

I prefer being at 100% health for 33% more damage. Theres a 25% crit ring for bows plus the cape at +5 is 20% crit, those two alone would be more than enough let alone with passive crit on top

Skill tree rating GO

Armor: B+

Archery: F

RD: A+

That sounds fun.

My current modus operandi is basically nuke everything down as fast as possible while dodging a lot but it's been fun so far. Very high risk high reward.

I was hoping that I could squeeze in some points in the Red Death skill tree but it only gives you the damage bonus stacks when you take damage from enemies (and some stacks when killing, landing crits if you invest the points). That's useless for my build because I'm already very low HP when starting fights and I can't afford to get hit anyway. So all the stacks would come from kills and it's not worth the point investment at the moment for me.

I bet the tree is super useful if you can make some build where you can take a lot of damage in terms of HP% that you can heal back quickly.

and some stacks when killing, landing crits if you invest the points

thats the part you invest in. though you also need all the first points to make the damage per stack as high as possible. at this point its the only tree that will give me anymore damage

What are some things you think could have greatly benefited the game (besides obvious bug fixes)?
I honestly think there should have been a morality system, only one gauged between being a true Chivalrous Arthurian knigga actually upholding the ideals of what the Round Table should be, and just being like all the other psychopaths and schemers.

On paper this seems decent. Just respecced, haven't had the chance to test it out yet.
Hopefully I can finally kill that four-armed, ghost knigger.

Shitkicker.jpg - 2560x1440, 713.07K

I still have some points to invest in the crit tree for bleed on crit because applying more status effects gives me a direct boost in damage, not just damage over time.
And there's a few more points I need to invest in a couple of other things. I'll get back to the RD tree once I'm done with that.

Transmog system. There are some pretty sweet armors in the game and it sucks that you can't wear them.
Better AI.
Better animations.
A more balanced attribute system that ties in more to the perk/skills trees.
Skill levels being more impactful.
Better Act 3 loot distribution (from what I hear, haven't reached it yet).

Optimization. On lowest settings the game looks worse than Skyrim and runs worse too. At least it wasn't on Unreal Engine 5.

I killed him at 32 with a weapon doing 20 damage less
The key is the stamina damage from two handers and doing extra damage to no stamina people (I think it's 30%)
He could still two shot me since armor seems to do dick all and I see you have even less than me

It's a bit annoying that you don't get an entry after you beat him up. What the fuck was his deal?

ah yes the steam forums

I'm literally tired of searching online for stupid quests that demand random sh@ with no marker or indication or pretty much anything to go on ..... Oh hey go get my a finger from an extinct race, or hey get me the bow of a legendary ancient archer or lets have a 12 million line religious debate with a priest who wants to burn some random books that you must get from him, and try to pick the exact lines that work .

Now lets talk about the stupid choices in almost every stupid quest.... who for example thought that giving permanent 30 hp to fill a heart for a stupid blacksmith or trying the other way ( which will lead to him going insane and not being available anymore) is a f@in good idea ?

I love this game but questing for me is 1/10 and i'm being generous

all the lore entries are fucking bugged, I think a lot of the lore would make sense if it FUCKING EXISTED

Last time I tried to fight him was at 31. I got him down to 40% or so. But yeah he was two-shotting me, one hit would do like 70% of my health. Got hit by some bullshit shockwave after-effect and just gave up.

you can kill him with a thrown pebble if you know what youre doing

snea.jpg - 514x539, 54.76K

casuals get super mad when confronted with something that implies they are dumb as rocks

or stab him with Greed but that's for BITCHES

god damn the prophet set is spicy
however
is there any way to get rid of the red jam on my screen or is that just the price you have to pay for power

he is a bitch and makes night time fucking annoying.

i thought the game had no towns?

There's a main fortress plus fishing village in the first area, a huge town in the second, and a bunch of lickspittle barbarian villages in act 3.

Are summons good?, never really used summons in these sort of games unless need something to hold off a enemy while running away

I like Act 2 more than Act 1 even though Arthur went mutemode

Has anybody done the Burdening Letter quest in act 2? I'd like to take the route where I track down the culprit myself, but the blacksmith in the city (the one with the sleeping son) has no more dialogue options for me, and the quest/letter hints at a man with the initial E and that he's "likely a blacksmith."

how dumb were they to make this nigga only show up once in the whole game? Too many characters in this game breeze in and out without any fanfare.

Killed everybody. The tribes are savages and need to be cleansed but current Kamelot is corrupt and needs to be restarted.

I guess the canon ending was to kill him since he didn't get anymore screentime which is disappointing. He was one of the more interesting characters.

I think they respawn every 24 hours. Iron Copper and Wyrdstones definitely do anyway. Outdoor nodes specifically.

Would you say... King Arthur came a lot?

Gotta resolve his problems first before you can bring it up.

Also do all his white dialogue to tell him about his wife, just don't tell him you gave it to a priest (if you did)

big red

It was on top of the perilous broch in act 1 for me just now

I can fix her.

starting the game now, should I turn screen shake off?

Hey man I wouldn't have to ask if the game had woke stuff if this shit wasn't common. Good on you guys for not having transvestite knights.

maybe some more gear, there's all kinds of cool shit with zero effects

only ever found 1 scythe

it looks like shit

Bummer

Maybe I am just retarded, what's the best way to make gold?

drink respec potion, put all points into practicality, craft cabbage rolls/wyrdbone arrows, sell everything, drink another respec potion

Wyrdbone arrows.
Wyrdbones are somewhat limited, you can't reliably farm them until act 3, but each stagfather shrine gives 10 wyrdbones (100 arrows).
10 practicality let's you sell for the listed price in the item menu, which is 250 for each arrow. So each stagfather shrine is 25000 gold.
Even if you are playing an archer, there's a skill that returns you an arrow up to 75% of the time, so you don't need that much wyrdbone arrows anyway.

the game is game design school slop. the skill trees and gear are incredibly annoying to look at. "increases your critical chance by 10% after a dash for 5 seconds, stacks 3 times" like everything needs to be super unique and bespoke. laughably amateurish.

just cheat bro

i read that the game have a lot of bugs after chapter 1, how bad are they?

Act 2 only has a few quests that bug out. Act 3 is just a mess.

Any good sources of meteorite in act 1? so far i've only found a couple around a dead geographer and one mining spot on the west side of the abandoned stronghold

Two veins in the Tomb of the Good Druid and two veins right next to each other here.
