tranny game where the mc gets raped btw. the hundred routes are a scam, and were mostly written by hired scenario writers, not kodaka or uchikoshi, one of them was Boruto writer. the routes for the most part are gay routes with different pairings between characters, there's like two guys who knocks up the mc, Darumi has a lesbian relationship with tsubasa. The gameplay is tower defense mobile tier, and gets boring quickly, you can literally just skip it.

Steins;Gate is still a godlike VN as bad as everything else in the series is.

the typical danganronpa crowd of freaks has been playing this shit nonstop for the last few weeks and having experienced over 70% of the game i can tell you exactly what is going on with it

it starts out with a semi-promising beginner route and then opens up a flowchart that leads into a ton of different options, except the vast majority of those options have basically zero consequence and maybe one or two plot threads you will find throughout them, as well as a bunch of pointless bad endings that give you zero information and are just hard cuts which are sometimes played off as jokes

so far out of ~10 routes (each with their own array of bad endings along the way and most of which go all the way to day 100) 2-3 of them have been worthwhile and the rest could have been an email, they're so fucking contrived and have so much repetitive combat it's unbelievable, especially the one route that's nothing but battles in a row and ends on two useless endings that do absolutely zero for your enjoyment or understanding

if you dare play this boring piece of shit you should absolutely ask people for a list of recommended routes instead of trying to do them all, so many are wastes of 10+ hours

At that point it's effectively two different games from a writing standpoint. If you can read moon then you can experience the original game and its writing, and if not then you will be fed the westernized release which is a different experience. If you can read rune then the writing matters 100% and if you can't then it matters a variable case-by-case amount less depending no how much localizers change and fuck with the game.

Steins;Gate looks like a great time looping story until you start thinking about what's actually happening, then it becomes a mess of narrative convenience and asspulls.
It's not that impressive as far as time looping series go.

I like Hundred Line but more in the "Holy shit, I can't believe I poured almost 100 hours in this game, I have stockholm syndrome now". It objectively has some massive fucking flaws and most of the routes have plot contrivances and poor writing out the wazoo. And the combat is pretty braindead and you're just repeating really samey battles on the same maps over and over. The only enjoyment comes from trying to 1 turn every wave but if you don't care about that, it's not a challenge at all.

Holy shit this, Steins;Gate fags are completely delusional about the quality of their series.

The Danganronpa games are the only mystery VNs that have arguably ok mysteries besides maybe Ace Attorney. Every other game/VN drops the ball.

S;G isn't even the best game in its series.

It has the same thing that the Zero Escape and Somnium Files games had, but on a much bigger scale. People are going to go through different routes depending on what choices they make, and each route is going to have its own people for it or not. There's no guarantee someone is going to play a route they might like if they don't intend to do everything, so it is a big gamble with this formula.

If you like Kodaka and Uchikoshi's other stuff, and want a game that's basically a big mash up of it, then probably.
