Did she really have to do this?
Did she really have to do this?
No
beta dick, do not want
she ended up making him more traumatized if anything
wasn't chad enough
She didn't want to date a 10 year old in a 20 year old body
He was white so yes
no she was just being a stupid woman and not considering the consequences
Why is the ending of OOT so kino compared to later Zelda games? youtu.be
A 3rd game with this Link is pretty much the only thing that would get me to buy a Switch 2.
Yeah. She knew she wasn't good enough for him.
Yes. when you play OoT you are supposed to be young link's age. this is zelda symbolically telling you that while you are now much different than you where before, you aren't a man yet, and to go back in time to where you physically are right now, and begin the real journey of growing up into an adult. Given how link felt about all this, I feel like I'm right there with him.
Best Zelda
its already coming out via romhack/decomp
Why are BOTW and TOTK not written in a kino way like OOT and MM? BOTW and TOTK just have cringe anime weeb writing.
too much makeup
I get this feeling that this part of oot's writing is all miyamoto since that mirrors his ethos when designing games, which was expanded upon by osawa.
wat
Link was still a 9 year old kid, just in a 16 year old body. He was a kid forced into a role he wasn't ready for, Zelda was just giving him his childhood back and by extension, giving her past self hers back
no, and that's the cruel twist.
zelda feels guilt over taking away link's childhood, but sending him back in time doesn't fix that. he's already lost that innocence, but now he's stuck 7 years in the past.
she didn't fix jack shit.
Adult Link was a chad
OoT and MM are written exactly like 90s anime. Zelda copies whatever style of anime is popular in its decade.
Zelda copies whatever style of anime is popular in its decade.
The movie Wind Waker took inspiration from was from the 70s, wasn't it?
Besides, SS/BOTW/TOTK are just aping Castle In The Sky and Princess Mononoke.
well thats just mods, not a new game. Playing as thomas the tank or whatever isnt exactly what im interested in.
see
He hasn't really lost that innocence he's the same 11 year old kid, he never actually grew up he was in stasis
go back and relive your childhood that you missed out on
doesn't know his childhood was miserable because he was an outcast
the fairy that got him accepted by everyone except Mido is gone
keeps all the mental trauma and exhaustion of his quest and being forced to do insane shit as an adult
he ends up going to see her anyway
even if they reveal Ganondorf is a traitor early, it's a lot differenct to be recognized for that as a child than saving a doomed world as a grown up
this leads him into Majora's Mask which fucks him up even more
Good job, princess.
They manage to get Ganondorf arrested and sentenced to death before he can really do anything, leading to Twilight Princess happening about a century later.
sorry i commented before actually watching the video and just looked at the thumbnail. yeah that romhack sequel seems like it might be good
No, and she fucked over Hyrule by doing it.
They manage to get Ganondorf arrested and sentenced to death before he can really do anything,
Wind Waker happens in the timeline Link leaves though
What a dumb slut
Why? Koizumi isn't involved with Zelda anymore.
He hasn't really lost that innocence
the whole game is a loss of innocence. Even back as a kid, Link can't return to Kokiri Forest.
He's not a Kokiri, the Great Deku Tree is still dead, Navi is gone forever and he still has all his memories from what he did before Zelda rewrote the timeline.
That world map is pure sex
gets sent back
does Termina thing
has coitus with Malon the ranch girl
fast forward
tp link is a rancher
Link x malon is cannon. All other shit girls btfo
Its funny how much they made OOT Link suffer. Its like the devs hated him.
He hasn't really lost that innocence
That is literally what happens
When he goes back he doesn't stay with the Kokiri
He knows he can't
Link is still innocent because he has the Master Sword which only a kind and pure soul can wield.
Why didn't Zelda just beat Ganon as Sheik? She already had the Light Arrow and she proved herself to be a capable ninja. Why even wait for Link at that point? Why guide him to everything that he needs to defeat Ganon. Why not just do it herself?
Zelda is Ubisoft slop now. We aren't getting big impressive dungeons ever again
You somehow forgot
dies full of regret and now he has to wander around another fucked up Hyrule before passing on
I never actually got what point he was sent back to exactly. Surely it had to be after he did all the child dungeons right as the door of time is open as he is in the room with the Master Sword when Zelda send him back so that means Ganondorf was probably in the Temple of Time watching Link at that moment when he got sent back and then it doesnt make sense why Zelda was in the castle as at that point she had already fled with Impa and Ganondorf had attacked the Castle
Yeah but he still has the mind of a 7 year old
Also his childhood wasn't miserable at all and he wasn't an outcast, the kokiri are never seen being mean to him, only mido has a stick up his ass
Not that it even fuckin matters anymore since he can leave the kokiro forest and go wherever he wants
There's really no benefit to losing 7 years of your life entirely and being a 10 year old in a 17 year old body, you think life before sucked imagine how bad it is when you're an adult and would basically be classified as retarded because you have the mind of a adolescent
Her heart was in the right place. how was she supposed to know she's technically sending link into a parallel universe?
Aonuma is a retard
HoT Link suffers because it builds character and it plays directly into his selfless hero role.
It's a heroes journey to suffer
Nothing would ever be exciting in links life again, how the fuck can you go back to a normal life after killing dragons and giant monsters
Pretty sure Link is supposed to be 10 in OOT not 7 or whatever ages other people are saying.
the kokiri are never seen being mean to him,
Didn't the game start with him crying in his bed?
He's sent back to before he met Zelda for the first time.
kek well alright then
Its like when my dad talks about sports stuff from high school
Bro moving away from your hometown is not equivalent to 7 fucking years of growth and development and experience in your most formative time. This is like saying when a child learns about death they have become a man
yeah my mom died when I was 10 next day I woke up and had the maturity of a 18 year old
Something something natural order/flow of time and what have you. It probably doesn't make sense to have Link stay in the future and miss out on like 15 years of his life. Zelda exists in the past as well, so what does it matter? Also aren't Zelda and Link the same age? Hell, Link sneaks into the castle to meet young Zelda and she practically falls in love with him upon knowing him for like 30 seconds.
Fair enough but that kinda doesnt make sense as he is sent to the room with the Master Sword and the door of time is open which only opens when you put in the 3 stones and use the ocarina of time to open the door.
That was because of the nightmare
this isn't spam you nigger retard website
I played botw back in the chinaflu age and it's such an ass game. Then you finally get to hyrule castle and it's actually a legit dungeon and it's decent. Why the fuck couldn't they just make more of those, you know, like a Zelda game. And all the retard faggot kids love it so cause the 5 second gay ass mini puzzles perfectly fits their autism adhd zoomer brains, so we are never ever ever getting a real Zelda game again.
is there a bigger woman moment in vidya?
It's not really fair to say oot link suffered. He willingly chose to be a hero. Hell he could have left termina the moment he got epona back but stuck around to save the giants, made as many people as he could happy, and even played in the carnival of time in mikau's place after beating majora before leaving completely.
OoT Link just powered through traumatic events while the worst thing that happened to ALTTP Link was becoming a rabbit for a whole minute and getting stranded at sea one time.
hylia forbid a kid be scared for her kingdom and her father when some evil jerk strolls into her home.
you don't get it
this was my exact thought
smash Ocarina of Time
Ganondorf can never get triforce
I think the debug ROM says 7 on the age picking option, but yeah he definitely seems older than that.
while the worst thing that happened to ALTTP Link was becoming a rabbit for a whole minute and getting stranded at sea one time.
His uncle died and he failed to save the seven maidens. And his waifu is a fucking bird.
Well I mean the lore in TP as well. Its like Nintendo enjoyed making him suffer.
His uncle recovered
alttp link used the triforce to completely undo everything Ganon had done during the game. His uncle, the King, etc are all back alive/to normal.
thats not link
Link also took the Triforce of Courage back with him (it's visible on his hand in the ending, which is why the king believes him and Zelda this time), so the universe had to bend to accommodate that (if Link has a piece of the Triforce, then it can't be in the Sacred Realm, which means the Door of Time has to be open)
His uncle died
Yeah but he came back to life at the end anyway.
he failed to save the seven maidens
Yeah but he saved them with his epic Golden Master Sword anyway.
Listen, he's from a family of knights. His uncle died being a hero! And all's well that ends well.
Yeah, but he didn't know that would happen. Same goes for the kid in the woods he watched vanish before his eyes.
It can open from the inside I guess.
The road to hell is paved with good intentions
thank you for saving the continent, hero.
now, aren't you forgetting something? Please give back my ocarina. It's expensive.
now go back to your midget village or whatever, I'm reverting you back into a midget
wait, also, give back the master sword, it isn't yours
There are windows on the outside of the Temple of time you can see in the background of that pre rendered area so Ganondorf should have got a ladder and smashed the window and jumped in and picked up the Master Sword or whatever he needed to do to get the Triforce.
Same goes for the kid in the woods he watched vanish before his eyes.
I wouldn't say that one was traumatic since he played his favorite song for him as a farewell. Plus that happens after he gets the Master Sword and basically every Zelda game has the Master Sword obtainment as a sign of personal growth for Link's character.
So isn't OoT completely pointless since Zelda just erases everything by sending Link back to the past.
I think that is probably the best head canon reason. He was sent to the Master Sword room but before the events of any of the child dungeons and the door is just open due to the Triforce
knows the Song of Healing
knows the Prelude of Light and Rewuirm of Spirit
carries the Master Sword scabbard
voiced by OoT Link
MM zelda gives link the Ocarina of time before he leaves to search for Navi(Termina)
Fi needed a break and he's still too young to use her.
why didnt Ganondorf just break the walls of the temple of time with a hammer instead of trying to get the 3 stones?
No because that world he left was saved and he got to snitch on Ganondorf in his kid timeline.
No? Future Zelda sending link back to the past is what causes Wind Waker to happen. No link existed in the future when ganondorf came back so the goddess flodded hyrule until a new link showed up.
Kind of but not really. She must have been aware she was going to create multiple universes with her decision.
hey this entire place filled with conscious people and your new gf? Yeah you're gonna have to GENOCIDE them all out of existence if you wanna wake up
As far as trauma goes alttp Link honestly had it worse
Sending Link back doesn't undo them sealing Ganondorf in that timeline.
Saved
The world he left gets attacked by Ganon again and he kicks major ass because Link is gone, so the gods just fucking flood it to stop Ganon
How is that saved?
uhhh. the Temple of Time was build by ancient Hylia worshipping Sheikah using their technology so Ganondorf can't break into it.
ALttP Link is literally forced to kill brainwashed guards and transformed NPCs.
Correction, they thought they saved it.
No.
The future Link saved became its own fucked up timeline which led to Wind Waker.
The past Link was sent back to let him confirm to the royal family that Ganondorf was evil and planning domination over the world , which then led to Majoras Mask and Twilight Princess.
I always assumed that the room with the Master Sword was like a sort of pocket dimension room or something so that if you just jumped in the window it would be an empty room. You have to walk through the actual door of time to get into the real room with the Sword. But thats just from my own head canon.
To be fair, she didn't expect him to bust out so soon.
Why don't we have more Kokiri in Zelda games?
The sacred realm opened when kid link grabbed the sword to age him up so ganondorf basically followed behind him since the "door" was open.
This is like saying no link ever saved the world because ganon/demise always comes back in the future anyway
why don't we just throw ganondorf into space so he can't come back
Most of the dark world monsters are just monsters, not transformed NPCs. The only exception would be Blind.
I was being sarcastic, but the Temple is probably protected somehow. Especially since it's unmarred in the adult section of the game.
Specifically because of pedos like you
Come on man the Kokiri were cute.
Ganondorf wouldn't be able to pick up the Master Sword anyway.
yeah thats fine I knew you were just joking. I was just posting head canon.
His uncle died being a hero
He died in Hyrule Castle's sewer
What if she turned him back into a shota and kept him as her collared boytoy?
She felt responsible for ruining his life and tried to make amends, did it work? Well in TP the Hero's Shade's one regret was that he didn't get to pass on his skills, and when he finally was able to it lead to Ganondorf's defeat so I guess all's well that ends well
Because they had to rip off Ghibli again and give us Koroks.
He died a heroes death.
hyrule space program isn't ready yet.
it's neat how this is the first instance of Zelda using time travel powers which eventually carries over to tears of the kingdom zelda. Still don't know who the goddess of time is though
im not actually sure if thats true. Because in that case how would anyone at all get into the sacred realm other than extremely virtuous people like Link. It would kinda make everything Ganondorf was doing pointless as even if he got in with all the stones and the Ocarina of time he would just have to shrug if he couldn't pull the sword
Lame, they got rid of the cutest race.
Why was she in such a rush to send him back though? It wasn't something that had to be done so urgently. Why didnt she let him hang around for a few weeks at least?
Its meant to be Hylia surely
Would hylia exist in termina though? Unless she just follows link everywhere for fun and went to termina, too
She didn't even let him rest. Dude probably collapsed when he got home.
The sacred realm isn't sealed by the master sword. It's sealed by the three trinkets
Link is displaced in time. He and navi are out of place.
There was probably some weird time travel shit that would have destroyed the entire universe if she didnt send him back as he was in a place where he did not belong.
Their world sucked shit I'm sure she assumed he wanted out of that lava pit asap
It can't be
Is Termina even a real place or just some weird made up dimension that goes away when Link leaves?
Majora's Mask which fucks him up even more
He comes out of MM doing better than he was going in.
Opposite actually, he was merely asleep he got to the future the same way you and I could go 7 years into the future
there was no time travel shenanigans going on with his existence UNTIL she sent him back
Aonuma and Fujibayashi don’t have the balls to revisit the gigachad who chose redhead farmgirl pussy over their precious god waifu
Weird state between real and mirror. Then again MM feels like an Alice in Wonderland story.
It was originally a parallel dimension, but Hyrule Historia and the other book tried to change it into a dream thing.
But you have to remember that they were written by glorified fan zines and Nintendo just checked to make sure they called Link "Link" and not "Zelda".
carries the Master Sword scabbard
uwotm9
We really need Koizumi back on Zelda.
We need more mystery and magic, not stupid alien tech.
what about when you go back in time for the well and the spirit temple?
the gayest fan theory to ever exist. name a gayer fan theory.
anon link HAS to visit the spirit temple as a kid.
I dont want to be rude but its was very clear in TP that he was OOT Link. He howls the song of healing when you first meet him and he howsl other songs from OOT and MM.
What's the best way of playing OOT/MM on PC for (you)?
Irrelevant, it was temporary
He sings WW songs too though so that doesn't hold, so it's just callbacks
name a gayer fan
You
OOT is ship, MM recomp. The mod loader in recomp is so smooth it's insane.
I dunno why people get mad about it being OOT Link lol.
Well.. there is too much yellow/green in that era.
But then TP was like "no more yellow and green, only brown".
Aren't you the one who came in crying about fan theories? "lol"
He definitely does howl a WW song. I think it was ballad of gales.
He wasn't twinky and slutty like latter links enough for them to treat him nicely.
Like BotW link.
getting mad over the game referencing things for fana
No sorry. I'm just a random different anon watching you both discuss it. I just don't get why people get so angry about it being OOT Link.
OOT Time Link gained the power to see all of time and every universe. Thats how he knew a Wind Waker song. I'm joking
Uhh... nope. I'm sory you don't enjoy the HoT's canon fate but you are welcome to adhere to your own fan theory. Zelda is cool like that. What story do you like to imagine for the hero's shade?
OoT Remake coming next summer trust the plan
No but I think its indicative of
"This world, this future is fucked up, but you dont have to live here. You deserve to go back and grow up the normal way"
And he goes back to meet Zelda for the first time again and tells her what happened, leading to Ganondorf's arrest and execution (Which kicks off the plot of Twilight Princess)
I dont know why people seem to think this meant Link was miserable as a child though. The opening of Majora's Mask could just well have been "Link missed Navi and wanted to find her" that transpired into a bigger adventure. (Whatever the hell Termina was)
It doesnt necessarily mean he was miserable after going back
Why won't Link just knock Ganon's soul straight? Brush his mouth like colgate?
ok forget about referencing his dialogue, or the songs that he plays or whatever and consider the following:
there is nothing in the game that solidifies this theory aside from shreds of circumstantial evidence that MAYBE POSSIBLY could lead the theory some credence. fine, whatever, it's a gay fan theory, have at it.
then, it achieved meme status somehow and ended up in hyrule historia, and now *that* is the source that supposedly legitimizes this meme. it's meme magic gone awry is what it is. bah humbug. I don't even care but the point is that the game doesn't definitively say
HEY THIS IS THE HERO OF TIME FROM OCARINA AND MAJORA'S MASK
it just uses this throwaway tutorial character to be self referential (many of the songs, like the ballad of the wind fish and zelda's lullaby are referenced throughout the series) and people extrapolate on that and it's dark souls lore all over again with assholes pulling theories out of their ass and spamming it until meme magic happens and a fan theory ends up in a legitimate work.
correct me if I'm wrong but they never rectified this in the HD rerelease of the game, right? that is, his origin is still left as vague as possible, right?
No, seriously. What the fuck did he do to deserve any of it? The only reason he ended up in the forest is because his fucking mom was dying.
WW needs a remake more.
you clearly haven't played botw nor any actual ubisoft open world slop games
No he wasn't. He was just in a coma for 7 years. Navi as well.
Definitely not but she's an idiot so.
This is true, although it's bullshit. He time travels back to being a kid after he met Zelda and there's no timeline fuckery, but Zelda sends him back be being a kid before they met and then there's timeline fuckery. If his counted there'd be 3 timelines instead of just 2
Its pretty clear that it is Hero of Time Link.
Its not even "fan-theory" tier. Its "The devs all but spelt it out for you and to not realise it you'd have to be a bit slow or new to the franchise" tier
You must be invested in a theory about hero's shade if you are trying this hard to dismantle canon. I'm not jerking you around, I would love to hear it. It has been ages since I heard new zelda theory
Sorry the devs had fun with subtle nods instead of having him flat out say he's Link from OoT on the N64, check out his adventures on the Zelda collection disc.
I didn't like the idea of previous Links talking
ESPECIALLY OoT/MM Link
But I've come to accept that it's him.
They should have stuck with the samurai guy. Or even better, given us several different versions of heros past to teach different moves (and made the last one explicitly OoT Link but silent)
I dunno, man. Even jap fans think Hero's Shade is the Hero of Time. I don't think it's ambiguous as you guys are pretending
All Zeldas post OoT are directed by Aonuma.
Forgot the image
Zelda is WAY too uppity for essentially being a spoiled brat noble
woe is me I have the inherited gifts of wisdom and magic
woe is me I have an entire castle in a pretty much universal Hyrulean monarchy with the singular force against me being an angry conqueror who’s own people don’t even like him
woe is me I have a father who is almost always portrayed as a great and powerful leader, granting me almost infinite security, love, and guidance until ganon kills him
have a prophetic hero destined to be your eternal cuck beta slave and defend you forever
”no Link you don’t get it IM suffering!!”
Shut the FUCK up bitch I am breaking the cycle
Malon, Ruto, the goddesses, the shop girl, the female knight, midna (imp and human form separated and both in love with me), Tetra (a separate person who loves me) ALL come with me
You must have autism.
ok forget about all the evidence, little nods, etc- then it's clear it's just a theory!
Retard
I must be misremembering something, I'm like 99% positive the TP manga straight up says it's OOT Link
I'm so fucking mad that Zelda will never be cool again
He was destined to be the holder of the Triforce of Courage. To be a Hero.
Hylia chose him, he rose to the challenge to combat evil, he succeeded.
Despite his suffering he still ended up living a good life. His only regret was not having a Hero/Soldier to pass his skills on to so he lived on as a Shade/Spirit Wolf. The Hero of Twilight helped him resolve that regret and he laid to rest.
Its likely that Ordon Village Link is a descendant of his anyway considering the physical resemblance and growing up on a Farming Village which is meant to be Lon Lon Ranch that grew into a small village.
I don't have any theory. my theory is that the character is just a throwaway tutorial character that has no more importance than some npc in kakariko village beyond their utility in teaching the player various moves.
little fun nods!!!
faggots, the lot of you. but it's cool. have you gay fan theory. it's gay, though. here's a theory: the skull kid was possessed by the wind fish's nightmare and you can't prove otherwise. see I can pull gay shit out of my ass too.
I'll save him the trouble and tell you right away that they don't consider the manga canon.
I thought that each of the Links was a reincarnation of the previous one. I was wrong?
I didn't like the idea of previous Links talking
ESPECIALLY OoT/MM Link
Even though it's implied they give replies in-game?
Its a shame they never made a spin off in the adult timeline after the events of OOT with Zelda/Sheik as the protagonist trying to deal with Ganon's return and failing leading to the flood.
could have left termina the moment he got epona back
I don't think so, I imagine it's happy mask salesman fuckery that the door under the clock tower wouldn't open. No way he was letting Link leave without getting his mask back. He wouldn't even let Link die ffs.
But should I recommend that to a friend who wants to play the closest to vanilla? He said he tried emulating OOT, but he found it jarring, since Link was being rendered in HD and the other textures weren't.
Time paradox?
Well... yes and no?
That's the problem and that's why the timeline split and that's also why they only explored it again in MM.
Oh wait, didn't they do weird time related shit in the DS games and SS?
Like closed areas being spawned from the past?
Does that mean there's like a hole in that area in the past?
This is kinda confusing.
I sure hope this doesn't turn into a plot black hole in some way.
You are severely unintelligent. It's okay though, we welcome retards here.
I didn't like the idea of previous Links talking
This is just nintendo being nintendo. Luigi is near silent in Luigi's Mansion games but talkative in regular Mario game and the Paper Mario.
How did OoT never have a kid or a protégé to teach? That's ridiculous.
send link back in time
cause the great flood and all sorts of other awful shit
Why the fuck did Nintendo do the timeline shit
see I can pull gay shit out of my ass
It was kind of obvious you were a butthurt fag so that's not surprising
Too cute and funny.
Treat him Nicely? Are you retarded? Hero of the Wilds suffered the most of any Link. Way more than the Hero of Time ever did.
His family were brutally murdered in front of him by Guardians,
All of his close friends in the champions died, with him being unable to save them
Was a sworn knight of the land, failed to save his sworn liege
Fought himself raw to the bone trying to kill an army of infinite machines, the very machines that were meant to protect him
Woke up a broken man with half a mind left, forced to wander the graves and ruins of the kingdom he failed as it slowly comes back to him just how much he has lost
Doesn't get some faggy magic do-over at the end with time travel magic to undo all that he has lost, has to live with it forever and try to rebuild from there
Hero of Time had it easy compared to the Hero of the Wilds. That Nigger lost everything, no lame head-canon required to stuff suffering into him.
they shat all over that concept when they released the big ol' multiple timelines bullshit. no point in caring about the "lore" at this point 2bh.
takes someone as severely unintelligent as you to recognize another severely unintelligent person, I suppose.
y-you're buthurtt
why, because I called your gay little theory gay? sounds to me like maybe your ass is in need of some cream.
OoT Link apparently had kids, but none of them were talented enough to master his techniques
Imagine becoming a ghost incapable of moving on purely out of disappointment in your kids.
The Zelda teams seem to get off on this kind of thing
save Hyrule from Ganon and save Zelda
hey uh there's a DIFFERENT Zelda under a spell here and Ganon's minions are still destroying the world
oh and if you die they revive him with your fucking blood
Very nice. Is that the final version? That bit to the west of clocktown/north of the path to the ocean being all blurry is a bit scuffed looking, but might still look good as a wallpaper regardless.
Why does this pic remind me of this pic?
Hyrule Historia definitively confirms:
1. OoT Link lived and died with the regret no one knew him as a hero
2. He didn't pass down his sword techniques to his children
The only requirement for holding the Master Sword is being the hero and not an evil one.
Because OoT was a retarded plot that broke the games canon. It can't be a Prequel to Alttp like it was meant to be because Link wins and Ganon is defeated and it adds a ton of stupid shit that was never in Alttp like gorons and gerudo and kokiri. They had to introduce branching timelines because the alternative would be admitting the games plot was basically a reboot that made no sense.
Silent protagonist means silent protagonist, they're called that for a reason, yes sure it's implied that almost all silent protagonists aren't literally mute in universe, but it's a distinction that exists for the player.
So basically yeah, there's a difference between implicit in game talking and outright dialogue.
I mean, it could be because it was that peaceful. They all got to focus on being ranchers. It's why TP Link is so good with animals. They don't even fear him as a wolf.
The shade isn't the protagonist anymore retard.
Because OoT was a retarded plot
Nevermind ALttP being a fucking prequel to Zelda 1.
I dunno. He could have opened up a school or something. The Hero's Shade's greatest disappointment was being unable to pass on his techniques, but I feel like this could have easily been remedied in one way or another back when he was alive.
The two Zelda thing is such a mindfuck
The real answer is because Zelda, even as Sheik, is not a competent warrior nor can she even wield the Master Sword until she's later reconned into being able to. Light arrows aren't enough to bring Ganon down. It took Link getting into a slug out with him three fucking times and Zelda holding him down with her power for just the Sages to seal him away.
all of this was off camera
I'm beginning to see why people are starting to feel like they're not trying with Zelda.
But then again, Elden Ring does the same fucking thing too.
He could have opened up a school or something.
I dunno, man. Remember that TP Link gets to practice the move against a super skeleton.
Kind of but not really
Zelda is ALWAYS a direct bloodline descendant of previous Zeldas and Hylia herself aka Skyward Sword Zelda, her and SS Link had a baby and that bloodline always produces a Zelda destined to wield the Triforce of WIsdom when its needed
Link is not directly related to either Hylia-Zelda or her Link, instead being a reincarnation of the original hero's Courage - So rather than a direct blood descendant, they're more like a spiritual reincarnation of the original hero
Ganon/Ganondorf is always a manifestation of Demise's (The original king of demons) hatred, and it manifests in various ways but is always able to wield the Triforce of Power
So you have
Blood descendant (Zelda)
Spiritual Reincarnation (Link)
Manifestation of Hatred (Ganondorf)
They established that the Links arent always necessarily related to each other in Wind Waker, but they are occasionally related to each other (Implied with Oot and TP Link, but never outright stated or given tons of evidence for)
OoT already has a remake.
WHY was there ANOTHER Zelda again?
send link back in time
he just plays the song of the time at the windmill again, just for lulz
Don't forget, these are Japanese games after all.
im actually really intelligent but nobody understands meeee :(
Link didn’t care about Malon at all. Zelda is who he cared for.
The time between OOT and TP never made sense. Its only like 100 years but the world looks totally different. It should have been several 100 years instead.
wins, but gets sent back in time, losing all the relationships and progress he'd built
abandoned by fairy immediately
never gets her back
saves another reality, but leaves so no accolades there either
dies without ever being recognized as a hero, not passing on his skills
only accomplishment is saying "by the way ganon's evil" after getting sent back in time
WW broke canon even worse.
Well... why isn't it ported?
That is a good question.
You think they would have by now. It's been 14 years.
Maybe the true reason the Hero's Shade was unable to pass on his techniques is because they're so ridiculous that no normal human could possibly master them. I mean his ultimate move was a quickdraw technique with a broadsword carried on your fucking back.
Off-Camera
They show it in the Memories cutscenes. But they obviously don't show too much of the violence and/or gore because its meant to be a for all ages franchise. But many times its worse leaving it up to your imagination anyway
Trying to imagine how Mipha was murdered by Waterblight Ganon or how Saria was Murdered by monsters in the Forest Temple or how Darunia was eaten by Volvagia is hella sad
It is several hundred years. That translation from the old game informer interview is incorrect. It’s several hundred not 100
Because he wandered off in the lost woods and became a stalfos
Maybe if we actually got to experience this shit outside of 10 cutscenes that are completely optional, it would feel like the events had any impact.
He's nine as a child and seventeen as an adult.
The shade only has a skull.
oh ok. that solves that then lol.
It's one of the few things I like about TP
Also the manga has that kino moment.
He was supposed to ride off into the sunset with her before the oh no actually, let's fuck up with timeline bullshit?
He probably didn't pass on his techniques because preventing Ganondorf rising to power probably meant an era of peace. No need to pass them on. He did have children, so it doesn't make sense he wouldn't teach them otherwise.
the canon is so fucked up.
Asspull of the century.
saves another reality, but leaves so no accolades there either
Was anyone even aware he saved Termina outside of Tatl, Tael, the HMS, and Skull Kid?
Yes. There is an "N64" mode that drops the resolution to 240p if he's that autistic. For MM specifically there's also nerrels textures pack, which was hand drawn over the course of about 5 years if he wants everything HD. I don't think OOT has any equivalent texture packs.
He barely knew Zelda. He met her for a short time as a kid, for like 15 minutes as an adult, then a short time when he went back in time to meet her again.
Zelda even says in a MM flash back that their time together was short
seventeen
adult.
Nice try, pedo
Holy shit, great question.
?
why do OoT and MM get actual discussion threads, but newer Zelda games do not?
goes back in time
just gives the sword and shield to mido and says "I cbf, you do it faggot"
ITT: retards who don’t understand that the hero of time was made to be the hero’s shade last second so it’s full of plot holes and contrivances that don’t align with the established lore
He barely knew Zelda. He met her for a short time as a kid, for like 15 minutes as an adult, then a short time when he went back in time to meet her again.
Zelda even says in a MM flash back that their time together was short
This logic makes no sense. His attachment to Zelda is 100x stronger than it is to anyone else. Are you being dumb to get (you)s?
he was 17 years and 363 days old you sick fuck
I mean everyone he saved in Termina (Assuming he 100%'d the game in canon) probably remembers that weird little elf dude that helped everyone.
Kafei and Anju definitely would
in all of videogame lore, is there any single opinion more embarrassing than pretending hero shade doesn't real because you can't cope with your childhood hero having a sad ending?
oot is supposed to lead into alttp
ganon gets sealed before the imprisoning war happens like alttp says it does
there is one plot hole
wind waker comes out
oot and mm are the only games that don't get thrown out of continuity
it takes several years before they're glued back on as the "link fucks up right at the end lmao" timeline historia made up
Aonuma moment.
So?
Anyway, it's funny but there's a direct comparison in that they make sure the other most famous silent protagonist from that time never speaks in subsequent appearances.
Imagine this scene was replaced with Red yapping his mouth off.
This doesn't matter much it's just a difference in opinion. But theres clearly alternative ways of handling this.
His attachment to Zelda is 100x stronger than it is to anyone else
Where are you getting that from?
gerudo
How dare they
In lore, it was built by the ancient waves of Hyrule, you even meet one of them, Raruru.
that guard in clocktown watching him do that fruity dance definitely left an impression
damn it's almost as if the story of the game was made up
where are you getting that from LOL !
Here’s your (you)
Newer games have become site engagement fodder. Remember, Hiro's Anon Babble is not for discussing video games.
The fuck are you talking about? If that logic held, then there wouldn't be any martial arts dojos at all outside of times of war. We pass on martial arts techniques in preparation for future conflicts. If everyone stopped learning how to fight just because there's no active conflict, then no one would ever fucking know how to fight. Every war would be fought by a bunch of civilians who've never held a weapon in their lives prior.
Link is Celtic coded and the adult age in Ireland is 17.
Yeah. But he's also some literal who in the child timeline, at least as far as Hyrule is concerned. It's not like he'd get to marry the princess. Instead he settles down with the busty farm girl. Hylia must be seething.
what's there to talk about with the newer games? I played botw, never finished it but I'm at the last level essentially, and I don't remember a damn thing about it in terms of the plot beyond the basic
yeah hi I'm the king of hyrule here's a glider and a smartphone now go frolic through the ruined land for long enough and maybe you can sort this shit out for us MAH BOI
sure there were some story related scenes but they felt disjointed and ultimately pointless. maybe I didn't view them all I guess.
average_polish_football_crowd.gif
It was originally Nayru but yeah, it was retconned to be Hylia later.
when you realize that besides the obvious tits joke, this Link never got to be held since being left with the Deku Tree
literal who
was bestowed a legendary artifact by the princess herself and a shield and other stuff
has the triforce of courage presumably
you’ve got to be joking
The protagonist doesnt talk in Zelda (Or at least does not have direct audible/text dialogue) because he's meant to be a LINK between the player and the game, you project yourself onto him to feel immersed.
The Hero's Shade is no longer your link into the game world, so he can talk.
Besides, the Links are seen talking all the time, they just dont get direct text/audio dialogue to help you project yourself onto them/use your imagination to imagine what you'd say in his shoes.
The Quest Log in Botw/Totk is written from Link's perspective in Japanese and it works really well
Hero of Time is the only Link who got a bad ending despite suffering the most.
We talk TP all the time.
Newer ones have fuck all lore to work with 2bh.
We did used to talk about ALBW a bit, but it's been some time now. It was ok.
Hystoria kept it as a parallel world, the dream thing came from retarded fans that read the "dream like world where familiar faces" line and took it literally.
Yeah, that's stuff Zelda gave him. She cares. Her opinion also doesn't matter. You think the King gives a shit? As if he's going to betroth the Princess and future Queen to some hillbilly from the forest.
TP isn't really a "newer" Zelda.
Though even then, a lot its discussion is in conjunction with the N64 Zeldas.
Historia is not canon trash. 12 of the 13 people involved with its creation never worked on Zelda before.
Do you need the character to tell you "Hey, i am Link from the videogame Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask" to figure out is the same guy?
Nintendo confirms it in Hyrule Historia.
Hystoria confirms it so it isn't a theory now stop being a retarded secondary.
Saria probably held him in some way at some point I imagine. There was a reason there was heart pickups in her house in Kokiri Forest
What is there to talk about? BotW and TotK rely on shitty flashbacks to tell stories that contradict each other while Echoes is fucking ALttP a third time.
some hillbilly from the forest.
Again this is some seriously dumb shit you’re posting. Link has a fragment of the triforce a relic that the royal family is tasked safeguarding for 10,000 years. If anything he is to be worshipped by the royal family. Your logic makes no sense within the context of the game world. They even tried to execute ganondorf based on his word only.
Link has always talked, dumbass.
From what I recall, Saria was the one who raised Link a lot of the time. Link came to the forest as an infant, so someone would have had to care for him. It probably wasn't the talking tree since he, you know, can't move.
It's newer than OoT... last time I checked.
It had a remaster only...
Oh no...
The Twilight Princess remaster is OLD now.
BotW
over 8 years old
Termina being created by Majora was from Zelda Encyclopedia
Its funny how much OoT Link suffers.
The biggest Zelda pothole is how the fuck did princess Zelda come back to life in TP after killing herself to save midna and getting captured by Ganondorf after somehow coming back to life.
He did have a kid, retard. TP is blood related to him. There's no point in hero training if the world doesn't need one anymore.
TP is a terrible game full of plot contrivances. Nothing makes sense.
holy shit
we're getting old and there's nothing fucking good coming out
TP is blood related to him.
do you have a singel fact to back that up?
Reading comprehension dickhead. Now read it again and see why you look like a complete moron.
Because, uh, we needed a reason to use the Zelda boss concept someone made where you do tennis. Remember that? From OoT? You even fight to Zelda's Lullaby. Please remember OoT!
well excuuuuuuuse me princess
Zelda is who he cared for.
Since fucking when? Zelda had feelings for him but they're clearly one sided. Zelinktrannies are delusional retards that don't even play these games.
Trying to hide your pedophilia by depicting the character as pubescent is disgusting.
Don't tell me that, tell that to Fi who kept him for 7 years for herself.
His brief experience as the Fierce Deity made him really get into the way of the warrior.
It was only when he was on his deathbed that he went
oh FUCK i didn't teach link jr how to spin hard enough to castrate a bokoblin
There is no evidence that TP link is blood related to the shade in any way. In fact, the manga goes out of its own way to disprove this.
So... is that why many of the bugs in OoT are even in BotW?
In fact, the [NON-CANON] manga
What was the OoT plothole for lttp? And wasn't LA supposed to be a direct sequel to LTTP? What happened with that?
OOT link is basically Anon Babbleirgin
No woman can understand his pain
Will they show the Switch 2 remake of OoT in the June Direct?
If there weren’t any confusion the manga wouldn’t even feel the need to address it. It’s a problem with localization and figure of speech. Retard tendies can’t comprehend nuance.
Why are Americans so obsessed with having everything be connected
i coveted that wind, i suppose
what anime for this feel?
the manga
Don't ever bring up the Zelda manga for fucking anything, you clown. They had OoT Link raise Volvagia and TP Link live in a town that got sucked into the Twilight Realm when they pulled a new made up sword. And Majora was a dragon.
Wasting 7 years dicking around in some forest is supposed to be life experience?
WW
Unfinished tech demo that only gets SOVL retards and muh emotive Lunk
TP
Either OoTfags that also like the game or secondaries who haven't touched the game and are only there for the Midna posting
SS
Either secondaries who are only there for the Zelink posting or Fifags who are huge Zelda lore artists
BotW/TotK
Not even a real Zelda game and only has cuckold posting from Twitter
It is a mystery.
They're probably not gonna show another Zelda game until Age of Imprisonment is out
malontranny is spamming art now
Shipfags deserve death
Zelda gives up her physical form and soul in order to save Midna's life
Ganondorf/Zant drag's Zelda's lifeless corpse back from the aether to use as a puppet
Midna uses power of Fused Shadows to return her soul and life to her body
Easy
It is canon but that line isn't even originally from Hystoria. You'd know that if you weren't some retarded secondary.
The actual events are worse than you remember
Zelda gives up her life to save Midna
her body disappears
suddenly when you get to Ganondorf her physical body is tied to the statue
Failed to kill Ganon twice and needed two different Links to clean up his mess
Had regrets so bad that he became a wandering ghost
>>>Gigachad
OoT Link is the biggest loser out of all the Links
I don't know. Nintendo is weird about 3DS games. Bravely Default is finally getting a port so maybe they'll start porting other exclusives.
Twilight Princess is a blight upon this series and ruined the legacies of two of the greatest video games of all time. This thread is proof of that.
Yes.
citing Fanfiction game book as evidence
Lol
OOT's story doesn't line up with ALTTP's intro about the Golden Land/Sacred Realm and what went into sealing it and Ganon. Not to mention Ganon somehow managing to get the full Triforce by the time of ALTTP.
The (original) Imprisoning War has always been that thing that Nintendo just kind of ignored, especially post-N64. OOT was supposed to be the Imprisoning War, Hyrule Warriors was supposed to be it, fucking Four Swords Adventures was supposed to be it, but in the end, the war was never depicted.
I did read it. You're just a retarded secondary that never bothered to play TP outside of shitposting osmosis like every other TPfag.
Do you think that doesn't apply to all the other silent protagonists? Like it doesn't apply to Red too? They aren't meant to be avatars though which character plays?
Everything you're saying is correct. But I just think it's kinda awkward to suddenly do away with that and make them into something else, it devalues your own playthrough. He might as well not actually be the same protagonist if he's suddenly saying a bunch of stuff that I would have never imagined him espousing, his character becomes something different.
I mean see Red, he's easily retained his character even into Ultra Sun and Moon with no dissonance because he actually acts the same, he doesn't say anything and becomes inconsistent with the character you knew him as when you played.
And again, there's a difference between "other NPCs reacting to your implicit vague replies" and outright talking, you can't keep saying "link talks" as though it means the same thing. As far as the player is concerned he is again, a silent protagonist.
Muh fanfiction
Do you have single fact to back up your claim?
bringing up the manga where Ilia ends up with Shad, Zant groomed Midna, Lake Hylia doesn't dry up, Link wasn't born in Ordon, the Hero's Shade served Midna in wolf form, and Zelda can still communicate with Zelda after the mirror is shattered
That book presents a lot of wrong information. So yes. It’s non canon fanfiction sloppa.
God I want a TP sequel for no reason other than for all the TP haters to seethe into a singularity
Dude trust me
No, I don't think I will.
You are addicted.
link wasn’t born in Ordon
Wow. You mean, like the actual game? His parents are never referenced in TP. He is not from Ordon village originally. Ok I’m dipping out of this thread it’s highly evident there are tons of retards in here who’ve never played them lol
God I want a TP sequel
No you don't.
It's true. You really don't. You want a third Hero of Time game.
If we're being 100% technical there's nothing stopping link from playing the OOT warp songs to leave termina beyond plot.
he thinks Termina is a physical place
You don't want that either.
Because it is.
We know Fierce Deity mask is canon and the only way link could get it was to help everyone in Termina with their troubles.
Links not your average Anon Babbleirgin who would spend his childhood in one place not doing anything, he makes the most of his life.
HellwWithin a few months of the end of OoT, maybe even less, he was in a parallel world meeting hundreds of new people, getting heavily involved in their lives, forming relationships, saving the world learning new things.
And that all happened in 3 days technically. How many MM tier adventures could he have in 7 years? Yeah he missed out on a lot of life experiences if Zelda didn't send him
Hyrule Historia's has a disclaimer stating things they wrote can change while Encyclopedia explicitly states it is written by fans taking creative liberties. They're essentially both glorified physical wikis.
It literally is. where did the idea that termina was a dream even come from
Why do people assume there's a remake of oot? Why does it need a remake?
Again. This is incorrect information. Aonuma said all the characters look the same because they thought they did a poor job of using them in OOT and plus they had limited development time. They have never said this. It’s made up fanfiction for the fans to eat up.
Why did OoT link start wearing such goofy armor? Did he join the Hylian army or something?
The site engagement bots need material to ragebait with.
conveniently ignoring the rest
See you later, retard.
And? That disclaimer has been all over any Zelda official lore, specifically about anything regarding the timeline. That's not exactly a gotcha that you were looking for. Like it or not, your glorified physical wiki is canon and it's pushed as canon. If you don't like that then that's fine but don't piss on my back and tell me it's raining.
Was Termina even real? Or was it Link's dying dream?
that seem to be the implication yes. There's even a grave in hyrule castle in TP that's strongly implied to be his.
your glorified physical wiki is canon and it's pushed as canon
The disclaimers say they are not meant to be taken as canon. Anon, the fucking books are uploaded on the internet. Go download one.
Where do you even come up with this shit? That line didn't even originate from Hystoria either so you just played yourself, retarded secondary.
Well it was always theorized to be a dream
Then Hyrule historia said it or one of those encyclopedia books said it
Pretty sure Aonuma said it later at some point
I mean there's the whole Alice in Wonderland parallel too.
Personally I think it's real tho. Plot kinda doesn't make sense if it's a dream.
It was as real as it needed to be for link to get over his loss.
Fierce deity appeared in future games
Majora's mask appeared in future games
the oot skull kid shows up in TP knowing saria's song
dead tp link knows the song of healing
That grave isn’t link’s. There are no things to recall his memory. In the other timeline Zelda built entire monuments for him.
Everyone asks about whether OOT Link is the big skeleton but no one ever asks how he got a divine wolf spirit animal.
The disclaimers say they are not meant to be taken as canon.
No, they do not. I don't know where you got that from. In fact, you've even said it in your post prior that the disclaimer is that material is subject to change as new games come out.
He was rewarded for his good deeds by being given a nice cushy job to train a bunch of faceless NPCs. Seems like he didn't get that bad of a ending.
Ainuma changes what he thinks about Majora's Mask every time it gets brought up.
link goes right back to looking for navi after MM in the end.
Fuck off, Matpatt.
You keep sharing bullshit third party crap like Gamebooks ang magazines that the developers have nothing to do with. You’re a moron lol
It's from the Triforce of Courage, next fucking question. Go actually play the game.
I don't care what anyone says, hyrule historia is dogshit made by fanfic shitters who want to be able to say that they had a hand in shaping the franchise's lore (that nobody really gave a shit about).
who's the vaatividya of the zelda games?
inside like are two wolfos or something.
Because he's a badass.
Aonuma also decided MM was too fun and enshittified it for the 3DS, so I won't be treating his word as credible.
Because BOTW and TOTK don't care about you and Link. You're just a platform for the adventure to happen. It cares more about Zelda and the shit she suffered through or witnessed in tribulations. Link doesn't really get to be a character, and ergo, you don't get to actually do anything but be the hero and nothing else. No one has personal stakes to you, no personal attachment that isn't the game saying you were her loyal guard, etc. It focuses more on the fact that you want to save Zelda and nothing else.
It's actually incredibly bland, since Link feels like he doesn't even really belong or exist in the same means as anyone else. If he died and a new Link took up the incarnation, not much would really change but Zelda and the Champions lacking the person to connect to from before. Fuck, they even made artwork of BOTW Link having a father and sister, and erased it from Hyrule Historia's english release because there's some super localization autism about not tying this Link down with ANYTHING.
talking ghost is okay
talking ghost that can turn into a wolf isn't
It's magic, he ain't gotta explain shit.
Maybe he had some interaction with the twilight or something in an unknown adventure. I think the manga has him know who midna is or maybe the game explains it but it's been years.
That is a page from the official Nintendo player's guide for MM. If you consider Nintendo's word as "third party crap" then who the hell decides the canon for your retarded ass?
Isn't this from a Prima guide? The same Prima that said there was an unlockable purple Yoshi in Yoshi's Story?
No, it's a bloodline/spirit thing. YOU play the game.
Developer interviews or the game itself. Everything else is fanfiction for advertisement of the game.
from the official Nintendo player's guide for MM.
The WESTERN one
Stop replying to retards.
You are fighting with a brick wall.
A. OoT Link wasn't breastfed, manlet.
B. Saria breastfed him, he is merely a late bloomer.
What's the C. option for his short height apart from malnourishment growing up?
No.
Go play the game, seriously. The Hero's Shade specifically calls it the sublime beast and the Faron Light Spirit confirms that TP Link inherited the Triforce and that it protected him in the Twilight.
Does this meant that OoT faggot didnt lay his seed with ANY of the what 5 6 girls he had lusting for his dick?
Was the fairussy that good?
Saria breastfed him
Art fags get on this.
You don’t “inherit” the triforce. So that would mean it was lying dormant in random people for 100+ years before it activated in link? Bullshit.
I mean, I knew that as soon as TP was brought up but my autism won't let it rest until I btfo'd him with the bait and switch anyway.
He got tired of being a manlet and hit the gym to get taller.
I understand why the Zelda team doesn't try anymore. Half of Zelda fans can't even read. The game can have a character look at the camera, say something, and it still won't take.
Wind Waker fags claiming Ganondorf was morally grey should've been a bigger red flag.
How do you not inherit the Triforce? It's literally marked inside of you after you've been chosen by it.
So that would mean it was lying dormant in random people for 100+ years before it activated in link?
Yeah, that's the point. Did you not play WW either?
that would mean it was lying dormant in random people for 100+ years
No, it was in the Sacred Realm, you fucking retard.
It will always be funny that heroes shade is a gigga nigga in size, potentially meaning that OoT link just turned into a giant of a man tha could probably one hand the big gorons sword.
How long until the inevitable Ubisoft OoT remake?
Links are destined to be manlets.
experiencing fairy pussy at such a young age ruined link
In wind waker it was a physical object given to Zelda. It wasn’t inside her. And the triforce of courage was shattered. YOU didn’t play wind waker transnigger
ganondorf
morally grey
what's the argument for this? he's pretty much a power hungry interloper who wants to rule the world. he's the natural response to the concept of the triforce, the reflection of the darkness inside humanity. you know that if the triforce existed in reality, someone would try to steal it for themselves. ganondorf represents that guy, and there's nothing morally grey about that, unless you want to argue that he was going to use the power for good or something. he clearly wouldn't have done that, and was just an evil asshole who does evil things. you could even say he was the incarnation of evil.
pretty cut and dry senpai.
official Nintendo player's guide
which was written by NOA / Nintendo Power and not Nintendo itself
Oh my lord. You people are legitimately retarded. Who do you think held onto it and why wasn't Zelda waiting along with it in Hyrule Castle? Why do you think that the Triforce of Courage was shattered? Do see what I'm getting at here, retard? Do you see the difference between WW and TP's protagonists?
wanting to stay as an adult
not wanting to fuck all the lolis legally or have grown women molest you
why the fuck would you want to stay with her?
You understand.
what's the argument
He coveted that wind.
OoT Link is one of the taller Links all things considered. At 17 he's not even fully grown yet.
what's the argument for this?
His retarded speech about his people living in the desert. Them having poor living conditions justified taking over Hyrule instead of them just moving. It's not like the king prohibited the Gerudo from being there.
Well, good news. It's also in the game's manual.
b-but muh localizers
We're just going to keep going with this, aren't we?
I mean, you could post Japanese scans and end this little roundabout you two are doing.
All Link did in that game was throw a book at Ganon.
Post the correct information then, instead of declaring everyone else wrong.
No chance. If it is a thing they wont show it until next year at the earliest.
I could but neither of us can read Japanese so that wouldn't solve anything and besides, I'm sure you'd come up with something just as idiotic to draw out this engagement because you're a lonely retard and this is the only social interaction you can muster.
Why are you getting mad at me? I haven't argued for either side.
I think it's weird that you never really hear about what Ganondorf did during Hyrule's civil war.
The war isn't really touched on at all aside from the Deku Sprout disowning Link and the Kakariko/Shadow Temple stuff.
He found a wolf mask
Ganondorf was most likely a child or teenager during the civil war.
Not him but totally him
I can't tell you how many times I've seen that before but we've already established that predictability is your forte with my prior post here.
I think it's weird that you never really hear about what Ganondorf did during Hyrule's civil war.
He did typical thief stuff according to Nabooru except extreme like killing people.
You're an idiot. Here, I shouldn't even be helping you, but I want you to realize what a stupid, paranoid troglodyte you're being. Next time don't do something as retarded as assuming everyone who replies to you is the same person.
I personally wonder who killed Link's mom since she died after handing his baby self over to the Deku Tree.
Him having the same hair colors and eyes as Zelda, plus Link's bangs jutting out at the same place Zelda's bangs end, always made me more than a bit pondering but it'd be stupid headcanon at best.
Thought saria was sucking a dick here
90s becoming of age story is always kino
what he did
He fucked everything up and the game shows you the results. What else do you need to know? IIRC he's responsible for fucking up every temple and every zone.
Wow, look at that.
Now shut the fuck up, retard.
How is he a manlet isn't heros shade like 7 feet
nta but i can't read runes anon, could you translate it for the rest of us that are curious? :3
Ganondorf doesn't get on his Triforce hunting bullshit until OOT starts, which is ten years after the civil war ended.
You dumb fucking nigger, I posted it so you'd both see it said that. I never said it WASN'T, I just said you could have ended the stupid argument by posting it.
He has kids, they just didn't want to learn his shit
No dad I don't want to play with swords and hear your fake stories about stuff that never happened anymore
No I couldn't have because your dumbass would've found something else to keep it going in a circular loop
B-BUT I'M NOT THAT ANON
Yeah, you're definitely not that Anon who got btfo in three separate occasions. You're just arguing angrily for him for whatever reason I'm sure.
arguing for someone by posting information that kills their side
no way it was done to end stupid thread derailment over one line
Anon, the last thing I'm going to say to you besides calling you a retard is that you think too highly of yourself to have some tripfag tier schizo following you around.
machine translation
If they're going constantly reuse Ganondorf, then I would like them to bring back vaati. I like his design and enjoyed minish cap.
Nah he's the second biggest loser biggest is BotW Link
zelda but in space:
- link is luke skywaler
- ganondorf is darth vader
- link gets a yoda like teacher to guide him
- zelda is the padme/leia character, she uses the triforce of wisdom to help you in some sort of support role (after you've encountered her and gained her trust in some story related event)
- he gets the triforce of courage after it's split when ganondorf tries to take it for himself, it gives him special force powers that aid you in gameplay
- travel across the galaxy to collect the mcguffins and open the temple of whatever to get the master blaster super omega lightsaber what kills evil
- you have various planets, they're "open world" but they have a specific theme, like a biome or something (lava planet, swamp planet, etc)
- then you have main dungeons situated on specific "main story" planets, so in this way you have the linear progression and the open world shenanigans separated somewhat, but maybe certain progression locks could be in place in certain areas in the form of acquiring new items and upgrades (like metroid)
- then you have deep space segments where you can have dogfights with gerudo star cruisers and fight roving bands of moblins
- on the planets themselves, each has a unique set of enemies to fight and equipment to do it (avoiding the use of recolored enemies)
- at some point can play as zelda; she is lithe and stealthy, can use kunai and a bow, whereas link is your classic warrior
- final battle against ganondorf where you board his ship to confront him; he's wounded but escapes to a nearby planet; uses the triforce of power to transform; link and zelda have a fukken lightsaber battle against him; use the master sword to end him; he evaporates into dust but his evil spirit lives on so zelda captures him in some kinda pokeball, a seal to never be broken
how stupid is this and why won't nintendo do it?
zelda but in space
Cool
okay so like in Star Wars
Dropped
but in space
Even fire emblem dropped thay concept because it was silly.
star wars is just the obvious comparison, I guess it doesn't have to be a 1:1 rip off. if not that then this is how a good "open world" metroid game could be done.
Zelda is already based on Star Wars thoebeit
You typed all that out just to say you want Star Fox Adventures 2.
If what you imply were true it would kinda be basically star wars premise so it wouldn't surprise me if those nerds ripped it off. But then backtracked on it. I mean there are a decent amount of parallels in the setup
why yes, how could you tell?
Yeah, we're both sure that it will be the last.
If they're going constantly reuse Ganondorf
They're reusing Demise now.
Ganon hasn't made an appearance as himself since ALBW. Ganondorf was replaced with Demisedorf after TP.
Vaati must be Demon King-ified if they're going to bring him back because EVERYTHING must be connected to the fetid shit that is Skyward Sword.
Even in ALBW, he was still just a corpse for Yuga to absorb.
DEI
BotW and TotK aren't even Zelda, that's why.
I fucking hate Demise. Absolutely worthless reason to explain why Ganondorf keeps coming back. Zero character or personality besides ME ANGRY EVIL. They even managed to make both of his forms look fucking awful. One is a noodle Muppet and the other is knockoff Akuma with fish scales.
I still have to actually beat OoT. I’ve beaten ALTTP like 20 times, I’ve beaten Majora, I’ve beaten Wind Waker, every game afterwards. But I always stop OoT after the Forest or Fire Temple. I shouldn’t even be posting on this board, imagine being a Zelda fan who’s never beaten OoT. I’m a fraud, but I should fix that.
To avoid an awkward conversation
I think in one of the attempts to fix the timeline retroactively, OoT splits into 3 timelines.
Adult, Child and Game Over (defeated by Ganondorf)
You could let it slide if you'd get a special Game Over or Bad Ending if you lose at that specific point but still
I don't understand why people think OoT Link had it so hard.
Thrust into the path of the hero, he overcomes all odds and defeats Ganon in OoT
Sent back in time to rat out Ganondorf so that he can enjoy a world of peace and live out the years that were stolen from him, with the knowledge that the future he left behind is saved (nobody could have expected WW's historical events)
His personal dedication to his companion Navi leads him to Termina, where he uses the skills he honed in OoT to not only overcome another world-ending threat, but also give happiness to peoples' lives
Leaves Termina a hero and makes peace with needing to let go of your companions when the time comes to part ways
Returns to Hyrule and settles into the life of a rancher with Malon and has children
His spirit persists long after death because his soul is intent on not passing on before he can teach his skills when they're truly needed, ensuring that the world has a new hero that can defeat evil even when he can't
I really don't see the issue here
Get on it.
For me its
3d:
Oot=MM>TP=WW>TotK>Botw>SS
"2d":
Lttp>ages>seasons>LA>minish cap>LBW=FSA=EoW>PH=ST
haven't finished
Zelda 1-2
I like all of them, so a "low" ranking doesn't mean bad.
It feels hard to rate half the franchise against the other because of how old the series is.
What anime(s) did Link's Awakening copy? Please, it's very important.
it's not so bad when I rewrite everything as a positive
You're not terminally ill, Anon! You're just going to your next life sooner!
This sad look honestly hit me really fucking hard the first time I beat the game. She holds Link's hand and the camera pans up to her devastated face...
at least do the 3 final temples. at least fight dark link. that shit's kino.
I’ve gotten the biggoron sword before too. Basically set my playthrough up for a finish but never committed.
He was mentally still a child after the seven year time skip. Dude was robbed of a proper childhood.
Just because Zelda sends him back to being a kid doesn't undo the mental scars on his psyche.
I have an idea.
Shadow temple as a game
but it's a procedural generated descent into "darkness" sorta like Diablo with lore sprinkled on levels
each new level uncovering the "darkness" of hyrule that was often talked about with the temple but never really elaborated on
could end up becoming Moon-like at a certain depth, surreal as fuck to highlight the lunacy of it
You see, you could never do that last bit in Diablo given how dumb their audience is.
ENTER
majora's mask's central theme is coping with loss. I guess some people didn't get the memo. whether he ended up as the hero's shade or not, the hero of time died satisfied with his accomplishments. this is one of the reasons why I don't think it'd be in character for him to end up as the hero's shade, a morose and broke character that clings to regret and sorrow. out. of. character.
Doll up him being an immortal skeleton all you want, he explicitly tells you he has regrets and it has been haunting him for who knows how long.
This thread was alright. I'm posting it.

Well.. it does need the 2nd screen a bit ay.
Then again, you have the docked screen you could use as a touch screen and then have the main screen be your TV and just state "can't play this portably". Surely that would be easy to do?
he has regrets
teaches link how to spin really hard
"alright you got this kiddo" *passes on*
How miserable.
Adopted Dad dies by a curse from an evil desert man that you tried to fix but were doomed from the start anyway
Big boss of the village who has it out for you tells everybody that YOU killed their dad
Flee Kokiri Forest because of it (people think it's just Link being awkward after he sees Saria afterward on the bridge which he isn't)
Original timeline has you failing and dying before fucking with time to prevent that
Sees a lot of fucked up shit in Termina but hey at least you become a God
Head back home from Termina
Once back in Hyrule he doesn't really have a home because the Kokiri still think he killed the Deku Tree because that closure where Mido and everybody realizes but it was too late was robbed from him because Zelda sent him back
His spirit persists long after death being unfulfilled with a world that no longer needs you or your skills
Sent back in time to rat out Ganondorf so that he can enjoy a world of peace
leaves Kokiri forest and goes right back to having to focus on Hyrule
You guys don't get it
He was too young. ALttP Link goes through a ton of shit but he's older when shit hits the fan and probably considered an adult already in his (bleaker) world. OOT Link had to go back to being a kid with regrets and traumas that adults would have trouble coping with, and his best friend was gone for good.
no one ever asks how he got a divine wolf spirit animal.
Through spirit/physical sex with wolfos.
nothing bad happened
loses his best friend which makes him leave his homeland
gets turned into a Deku Scrub and I'd audibly terrified
Miyamoto strangles him
a world that no longer needs you or your skills
MAH BOI, this PEACE is what all TRUE WARRIORS strive FOR!
Reminder that Link is actually badass

I hate twink posters so much
oh no!
link became a furry!
Ganon did nothing wrong.
Suave.
Twilight Princess Link is basically sent to hell as a wolf right after seeing his childhood friends kidnapped (or killed from his perspective) and his entire village can’t tell the wolf is him but he tanks it because guess what? He’s a beast. And also a light spirit told him he’s the hero of legend so he can do anything.
The manga made it better.
2x damage to fire
Worst tunic.
The manga made it better.
Eh. They made it longer.
At least he denies the light spirit’s claim that he’s a hero and wants to prove his own worth himself.
I left off at the Arbiter’s Grounds though.
I hate twink posters so much
Nintendo warned us about the dangers of Drawn Together.
Leaves Termina a hero and makes peace with needing to let go of your companions when the time comes to part ways
Doesn't he go back to looking for Navi?
The manga made it better.
The only thing the manga did better was wank OoT and throw Midlinkfags a bone. TP Link handled it well because he's built for it literally. The same light spirit that told him that he's the Hero of Legend is also the same Spirit that hands him the tunic that once belonged to the Hero of Time.
It's honestly all just speculation there's really nothing in the story to actually imply that Link has any kind of PTSD or any shit like that, but people are gonna want to assume so because it makes it deeper than it actually is.
I personally imagine inheriting the triforce of courage would indicate you have a bit more mental resilience than the average anon.
He leaves the forest and does non-destiny-related hero stuff, which culminates in him gifting his bow to the Gorons and King Zora becoming such a Link fanboy that he makes the Zora Armor.
It just doesn't make any sense why people like to imagine the Hero of Time being some tortured soul. Sure, he has his regrets, like wishing he could have been recognized as a hero and teach his skills while he was still alive, but the reason he couldn't do so is because he lived in a world of peace. ONE THAT HE BROUGHT ABOUT THROUGH ALL OF HIS HARD WORK. If you're going to argue he has PTSD, which I agree is likely, it's likely the kind of PTSD that is common among soldiers, the longing for a return to purpose amidst chaos, and the difficulty in not feeling regretful that you aren't doing your job fighting against the enemy. Like that anon said he's already learned to cope with loss, he just never learned to cope with living a life of peace and his spirit continues to try to be the hero he had worked so hard to become.
he doesn't really have a home because the Kokiri still think he killed the Deku Tree
wouldn't zelda have sent him back in time early enough that he could stop ganondorf from even collecting the sacred stones? seems like that would make more sense than sending him to a later point in time, i.e. if zelda sent him back early enough, the original deku tree could still be alive, and he could still potentially have a home in kokiri forest. and even if this isn't the case, why would any of them have the authority to kick him out when he's lived there all his life? it's not like they were mad at him (except mido but he's perpetually butthurt)
regardless, I'm pretty sure he willingly chose to settle down with malon. that, or he went on another adventure we don't know about.
Doesn't matter how far back Zelda sends him because again, the Deku Tree was doomed before Link even started.
I'll look into it and relay it to him.
Appreciate the help!
why people like to imagine the Hero of Time being some tortured soul
People love drama.
Nowhere in the games is this actually stated. He just leaves to do his own thing.
Hard agree, having a divine gift of courage would likely make things that would usually be traumatic something that can be braved and overcome.
It just doesn't make any sense why people like to imagine the Hero of Time being some tortured soul
I wouldn't put it past the Goddesses. They already thought it'd be funny for Ganondorf to have the Triforce of Power.
the twinkiest Link is physically the strongest one
twinkiest
Are we just ignoring BotW Link now and calling this mother fucker a twink out of spite?
yeah but he was only doomed as a result of being cursed, and he could only have been cursed if ganondorf was there to place a curse on him, which means that the curse was placed on the deku tree during a time when ganondorf formulated a plot to take the spiritual stones by force and steal the triforce. so, if zelda sent link back to before ganondorf ever conceived of such a plan, then contingencies could be put in place to prevent various outcomes, including the deku tree's early demise.
I guess we don't know how it would have played out either way. all we know is that ganondorf was thwarted, right? as long as we're speculating, why couldn't link just explain his plight to the kokiri and allow them to judge what happened from a broader perspective?
Ganondorf got the Triforce of Power because the guy who touches the Triforce is guaranteed at least one piece, even if they don't qualify for the wish.

Except that isn't what happened and we see that at the end of the game where Link returns to Zelda who is spying on Ganondorf through the window just as they day he originally met her. We do know a surprisingly good bit because of TP.
Same. Pretty expressive face for the time.
Ganondorf gets the Triforce of Power because he's filled with ambition and desire. Link gets the Triforce of Courage because of his indomitable human spirit and unrelenting optimism in the face of chaos.
They are both quite literally built different.
Kokiri
understanding
They never believed Link left the forest. Mido tried to convince them Link killed the Deku Tree. They never questioned adult Link having a fairy.
I wouldn't put it past the Goddesses. They already thought it'd be funny for Ganondorf to have the Triforce of Power.
That is not what happens. You hyperfixating on that one "divine prank" line out of context will never be anything more than your autistic headcanon.
stuck with literally-fucking-nothing-tier-botw-zelda
Shit timeline. Couldn't even get a collection like Mario did. Fuck em.
The divine prank was just the sages commenting on how absolutely fucking abysmal the Triforce of Power's timing was.
They never believed Link left the forest.
They did though. If you go back and actually talk to some of them, they question whether Link will return someday and that maybe they were wrong. The Know It All Brothers outright have faith that he'd return (which he did).
Still hurts that every scene with combat in Hyrule Field is more exciting than what we actually got.
we see that at the end of the game where Link returns to Zelda who is spying on Ganondorf through the window just as they day he originally met her
ok fair point, but I still don't think that any of the kokiri gave a single shit about him continuing to stay in the forest or not. again, it's not like he was chased out by an angry mob wielding torches and pitchforks, it was just mido being a fag about it.
What the fuck happened, dude?
Our future used to be so bright.
Exactly but this fucking idiot keeps trying to push it as "Din having a little bit of a cheeky laugh". It's fucking retarded. We SEE what kind of person Din is as an Oracle and it isn't anything like what this fucking moron is headcanoning.
I still don't think that any of the kokiri gave a single shit about him continuing to stay in the forest or not. again
Go play the game.
Why would Link want to settle back into Kokiri Forest? That's like saying Frodo wanted to setle back into the Shire. Both are lands of innocence and ignorance, and even when they are faced with evil in their own land, that doesn't fundamentally change the way that the people there think. Just like Frodo couldn't stay in the Shire and left for a life of peace in the east, Link needed to leave Kokiri Forest and live out his days in Hyrule.
Why would Link want to settle back into Kokiri Forest?
Because that's his only home? His best friend lives there?
Jesus dude I just made one mistake
Isn't Saria like many many many years old?
Like potentially hundreds?
fact is we don't know where he would have gone, but the point remains that he wasn't unwelcome in the kokiri forest.
Plus the Deku Tree Sprout told Link to his face that he only 'adopted' him because of his destiny. He never actually gave a shit about him beyond that. Probably why he never told Mido to quit his "you will never be a real Kokiri" shit.
How they made her look that good with so few polygons is kinda remarkable.
Yeah just one mistake that you constantly keep parroting. Fuck off secondary.
Just like Frodo couldn't stay in the Shire and left for a life of peace in the east
I had no idea what Frodo does after the ring gets thrown in.
I hope this isn't bullshit though.
Not that I care.
constantly keep parroting
????
I'm sorry? Is it not a common thing?
No. It isn't. TPfags really aren't beating the secondary allegations ITT.
Iirc he, Gandalf, bilbo and a bunch of others leave to the undying lands, some mystical continent in the west that is home to the elves, or something.
Sam, much later in his life, also goes. Something about hem breeding a ring bearer meant they got permission to go.
I still think WWfags are worse.
TPfags
I was just replying to a post about OoT Link
oot zelda is a girlfailure
Hem breeding
Him beeing a ringbearer*
One hell of a typo for auto correct to fix.
None are worse than unironic SSfags.
With a line out of context from TP, taken to form some bullshit headcanon.
There's a sperg trying to become the new Eric equivalent by lashing out at everyone saying anything related to Twilight Princess.
