I don't like that turn-based combat is dying actually
I don't like that turn-based combat is dying actually
Pokemon never had good turn based combat though
Its isnt though
b-but pokemon...
Pokemon has been dogshit since forever, who fucking cares?
t. no gold symbols, low elo
Look out there, I could actually make out what the game was called
33 literally just came out
the hundred line last defense academy came out this year, and it had decent turn based combat
Pokemon Champions has the turn based system still.
I swear to fuck, if they screw this one up.
They have the chance to create an official simulator that could rival showdown.
Thats a QTE game
Alright, go play your old garbage instead
turn-based dying
Nigga what? The last two years have had more AAA turn-based games than the last 15 years combined.
This exact game isn't turn-based though
anon thats the point
That's a garbage looking cover
Developed by ILCA
It's already screwed up by default.
I don't like that turn-based combat is dying actually
E33 gave it a new lease on life, you'll start seeing clones by 2027.
I swear.
Jesus christ no. That's somehow worse than turn-based dying, even if it really isn't.
Holy shit, this cover looks so ass...
E33 is le bad and not an actual turned based RPG because muh QTE
Great, so Anon Babble niggers are the reason why Paper Mario has been turned into a shitpost franchise for 2 decades now
Pokemon's battle system is great, the issue is the main game doesn't take advantage of its depth
Oh you're a retarded Squarefag, got it. Kill yourself, troon.
not an actual turn based RPG because QTE
This is 100% correct.
Go play a real turn-based RPG.
You can quite literally beat it without dodging or parrying and using your normal skillset, so it's turn based.
I do, there's no reason to have turn-based combat in this day and age. If you cannot develop a real time 3D game now, then just dont make anything ever.
Like Baldur's Gate 3?
Advanced Rock-Paper-Scizzor is great!
FIFY
Fucking ew no. I just want my turn-based to be real turn-based.
Sure, that's one.
This shit has been in RPGs for decades, go actually play some games you posers.
No one claimed otherwise, it's still shit though.
unironically yes
See
It is unironically great. If you think that it's just RPS bullshit then all you're doing is proving that anon's point
Go play a romhack like bun and run if you want to realize the true potential of pokeshit's battle system when it's not being balanced to appeal literal braindead kids
featuring Dante from the Devil May Cry series
WTF is that bunch of text!? This shit looks like a Yugioh Card!
Not enough "you can activate each effect of [card] once per turn", and "(Quick Effect)", couldn't be YGO
>Pokemon is a good competitive gam-ACK
Present in 85% of the teams.
The director for Legends Z-A is a Xenoblade fan
Looks like I'll be buying my first Pokemon game since gen 3.
Unfortunately good mechanics can't prevent GF from playing favorites and powercreep.
Gamefreak also donated money to BLM, so make sure to donate some money too anon
everyday a sucker is born
Based, I'll also be buying it since my favorite vtuber is hyped for it :D
bought it
is a fan
These two are not related, I bought plenty of games that I hated.
Nah, I only like Xenoblade. I tolerate niggers but don't actually like them.
And it's proven to me that it's really dying fast.
I mean it literally has a parry move and it's still kinda.. meh.
I think roguelikes coming out like Blueprince have proven that turn-based games are sort of a thing of the past. Going back to SMT style gameplay is kinda not enough. It needs much much more now. It's far too simple in how the use of qualitative moves and sets and orders are used in games now. Either it becomes more real-time or it needs more creative innovation to the mechanics.
Xenoblade really did kill turn based gaming didn't it?
Yet they keep fucking Xenoblade up since the original, kek.

exactly, it's not the 90's
Legends is a spin-off, there's no problem with it not being turn based.
You can use whatever you want, this shit is dumb. Gameplay systems don't actually age.
but muh sales
If that's all you care about, then every game should be FIFA.
/thread
How do you anons think Nintendo feels about this company being a red stain on their image of quality control?
Give me back my 2D Pokemon sprites
Take SMTV, that was much better than their older shit because there was far more platforming and shit like that. That being said, it wasn't cutting edge platforming. It was just more depth to the gameplay instead of just turn based battles.
What's funny though, is that Atlus tried to get away from turn based games entirely at one point.
It... didn't work well though so they went back to turn based.
It's crazy that Legends Z-A has the same anti-platforming shtick from SMT4, of press action button on ladder and you teleport to the roof.
Palworld at home.
also did SV have the new combat? no it was containment to that game and this will 2.
You are genuinely retarded if your way to improve a JRPG is to include some shitty half assed platforming instead of maybe, I don't know, making a dungeon crawler have actual dungeons like they had in the past. You just don't like JRPGs, just fuck off and stop playing them instead of trying to make them into a completely different genre. Let us enjoy the genre we like and you should go play genres you like.
Legends released before Palworld THOUGH
ZA has not though and i doubt it started development fully before Palworld did even though Palworld is a ark clone they have shown it to be very similar to the point the hud is almost 1:1.
Do something inventive at least.
Persona was a breakthrough because it add more to the turn based genre. Mere platforming is not enough though, I will agree with that. I was just using it as an example of something that was added to their games that made it feel a lot more fuller as a game. It added more shit to it. Plus you could see the world around you for what it was a lot better. Why are we still doing wild grass battles? I only tolerated them as a kid because the hardware was limited. In reality, I would have much preferred seeing the pokemon in the fields roaming around. That's why Arceus was a breakthrough for me, despite having flaws.
