It's good for gamers, but kind of dumb for console makers to not have a large exclusive game library to sell their PC. I guess Sony feels like they won over Xbox so they don't need in the console space? But if it's a fight between Sony and Nintendo on owning a PC + one game console, Nintendo is going to win.

3 does anyway. The hard surface and desert environments really hide its age.
2 has a lot of the same issues as TLOU where the focus on foliage and overgrown environments ages it.

I think that sony sees the writing on the wall and they want to open themselves to a wider part of the market before their brand goes entirely belly under. it's gonna be weird when they just become a publisher, though. with sega, it's fine, the name is ok, but playstation as a brand refers to their plastic walled garden machine, so they may have to rebrand, but doing so could hurt their image.

on the other hand if they just change their name to "sony entertainment interactive" or whatever I guess people wouldn't notice too much. yeah man consoles are dead (except nintendo, they fucking won. microsoft doesn't count because they have moneybags for days, they won't go under like sony would, they'll just pull the plug on their shitbox and fuck off)

They come out years after their initial release on consoles.
Consolefags aren't really losing anything, they remained "exclusive" long enough to sway plenty of people into buying a Playstation instead of waiting forever for a PC port.

And considering TLOU got the remaster/remake treatment then it might not be too far fetched to assume that will happen. No, paying a dev to keep a game that was going to be multiplat off of other platforms is anti-consumer. Building a game from the ground up for your own platform is not anti-consumer in any way. Does PlayStation lose anything if Nintendo makes Metroid exclusively for their platform? Of course not.
