First boss is the big filter. I've only beaten it earlier today, but I could feel the skill increase of my team mates in the five or so matches I've played since then.
If you enjoyed getting summoned for bosses in elden ring, you might enjoy this as well. I was considering to refund in the beginning, since it's pretty overwhelming at first, but the more I played, the more I liked it.

Ironeye - Best character overall due to mark, great damage with bows, a strong ultimate, and the ability to melee with dex weapons. Do not sleep on using him in melee. Using melee during staggers/openings and constant ranged plinking when not gives him insane up time.
Raider - Best melee class, highest damage potential, most stagger potential. His ultimate kind of sucks but he is very tanky.
Duchess - Most consistent melee damage dealer due to insane dodges. Her skill is the best in the game due to being able to repeat everyone elses. She needs status or elemental weapons.

Wylder - Best ultimate in the game, best mobility in the game. Damage wise is a worse Raider but has more flexibility. Solid pick.

Recluse - Has high potential but she needs a team to actually help her get a good staff, upgrade it, hold aggro for her, and not constantly fuck up her skill. If she spams the right skill combo she has insane damage but lots of the time it is impossible due to retard mcfuckface hitting the boss with 1 holy damage constantly.

Executor - Bleed weapons are strong, he is the best at using them. His skill and ultimate are not good. His ultimate is good for bullying low level bosses and clearing camps.
Guardian - Best revive ultimate in the game, is nice and supportive, but Damage > Defense

Revenant - Pointless class. FP management is impossible for a caster. Her summons have terrible AI and just get AoE'd by the boss. She does no damage. Heals and support magic cannot be used on the nightlords. Waste of a slot.

Yes it counts all damage. You use it after an ultimate, a bleed/frost proc, a critical hit, or even just some raider doing his skill/charged heavy. It has a very short CD. You don't get hit on her because every time the boss attacks you mash on dodge.

I beat the game and most of the time my friend was on revenant (pretty sure he loves little girls but sometimes he played recluse) and I hate the big skeleton. It pushes you around and makes shit much harder to see.
Game is great I hope it gets more stuff. Making a new Elden Ring character and going through all the progression is kind of tedious and this scratches the itch perfectly for it. Also it has some changes that I think should be in base ER like blocking with weapons giving 100% physical reduction.

I got the DLC, they fixed the base game and its surprsingly better than it was before as they fixed old bugs that were never adressed. As for the DLC, they made major overhauls and the new items are either unique and make for some good builds or straight up powercreep stuff that were the best in the base game.

It's fun and playable even now solo, but shit is pretty difficult, even with Executor making it more manageable. Definitely play with friends when you can or even just do two niggas and a random for a better experience. Playing solo does bring down the boss health significantly, and there are more solo buffs coming in a day or two

If you have a good spell that applies the boss weakness you have absurd damage alongside your other utility.
Only Raider and Guardian have a triple bar revive that comes close to Revenant.

realistically ER does not need a new expansion. The game is already huge and SOTE is also very beefy. If you haven't played in a while and want to use a light greatsword or something on a new save it's going to take you 20ish hours of fucking around just to get one unless you're looking stuff up or you remember everything about the game for some reason. The whole strength of Nightreign is you get ER gameplay (with some changes) in a much smaller hour long package. A standalone game makes a lot more sense than an expansion pack.

The first boss is the great filter, being very difficult for new (or bad) players to deal with since it splits into 3 periodically and then ganks the fuck out of people when they're weak. If you can manage to beat him with randoms and unlock the rest of the bosses then you'll be fine.

I compared two iron eye setups and it looks like main scaling stats>flat physical increase.
I don't have any data, but it would make sense that better weapons that you find in game also profit more of their main stats.

IDK if it's just an uncommon move but at like a quarter HP the nigga dropped a sparkly jellyfish that floated to the ground and screen wiped all of us from full. no, not the big aoe sleep move, a straight up screen nuke. i alone could not damage it more than 20% with my bow. we got along all having bows just fine for the boss till it ass pulled this move.

It also can't be mitigated bc I was a raider with talisman and element d/r and 2x HP%s. The boss' wave attacks didn't even hurt me but like 10% and this 0'd me from 100%.

IMO i feel like that is the eventuality. i think ashes were a foray into a skill system and this was the trial run. it would be a neat system to add onto future regular entries but they would need to do it in a way that is a loadout system or pure player controlled customization so we aren't just shifting more importance onto a start-of-the-game class decision guiding it.

No he isn't and you know he isn't. His damage mitigation cannot approach guardian, stop deluding yourself. He also can't get a boss' attention as easily as guardian can. The one thing Raider is overwhelmingly better at is the only thing that actually matters to you, which is damage. Guardian under pressure will outlast Raider nine times out of ten by the time you're at Nightlord and you need to admit that to yourself.

I have played many bird games and many raider games. I always reach the nightlord with raider with at least at least 2x hp buffs minimum, and 2-3 phys and/or magical mitigation. plus his default mitigation stats per level is higher.

in all my bird games (10+) i have gotten HP buffed twice and only 1x element mitigation.

maybe i am supremely unlucky but it just seems like raider gets more passive tankiness consistently.

as for my experience with both -- no. with all the above aside skill wise raider is still tankier. retaliate basically zero's damage out and even besides that the damage and stagger it doles out alone dwarfs bird in usefulness. aggro is controlled by consistent and/or burst damage where as bird is a 2 trick pony -- revive a baddie or finger your butthole behind your shield while your stamina drains and you do nothing.

Tankiness and hard damage > no damage and very brief 100% mitigation any day of the week.

Last two runs we I played shitrolled the map with our extra runes from Rev relic, summons and good coordination. Day 2 we rinsed the castle and the mountain.
Just kill field bosses if you roll trolls in the castle it's a pain in the ass to do. Ideally you get crucible knights since they drop the most runes. Banished knights are ok though.
We would've hit 16 if they put it in the game.

it's way smaller than you'd think, about the size of guardian's ult zone, maybe even a little smaller. I had two guys die and couldn't even get them both with it.

I have been finding executor great as I get used to him. Just go all in with a bleed sword, never actually fight with the cursed parry sword. BUT when it comes time for the boss to attack you, just unsheathe to parry (that counts) and start tanking. I find it easier than just regular dodging because of how lenient it is. And also only go wolf mode to heal or revive someone, or to rape an easy boss by yourself at the start.

Someone isn't using whirlwind, and you're both underestimating guard stance. And yes you're supremely unlucky, I usually have a ton of mitigation and block bonuses on bird by the end. Raider is better overall but Bird is very good at what it does, which is piss off bosses and not die and insta-revive occasionally. End bosses have a shit ton of HP and being able to last longer and let the other two work is invaluable

Never said it glued the boss to you but if you're using it, it absolutely makes them focus you more often. I mainly play Raider and Bird and Bird has an easier time getting targeted especially on highly mobile targets where Raider struggles. Much of that is due to good whirlwind usage.

I only play with randoms. It's fun, but most of the time you'll lose due to unluckiness and incompetence with the pinging. The storm legit closes too fast so if everyone in your team isn't speedrunner-tier, you're fucked. The game does not forgive dilly dally not even for a second.

It's alright. You meet a lot of retards, like I had an Ironeye that tried to kill the overworld dragon at level 2 and then died in the middle of somewhere after. My other teammate got tired of dealing with his shit so he disconnected, but we kept playing and we were doing quite well, we even manage to get to lvl 11 before the midpoint of day 2 but then we tried to kill the castle boss which was a lot stronger than I was expecting and killed us both a couple of times and our run effectively ended there.

For the guys that this game is made for it's fucking great. For people like me who aren't interested in MP only games. It's a fun watch if you have a good streamer that knows how to play this game. JBros you know who you are.

Believe it or not Hitman World of Assassination has an awesome roguelike mode which admittedly I haven't played in a while since the update, but it was super fun. That game in general deserves way more attention, it's one of the greatest games ever made and it feels like nobody knows really knows about it.

I like it. The only round that I didn't enjoy was with two premades who never used the map markers and went on some inefficient schizo route across the map.
People play through the main games by dying repeatedly. A lot. So bosses are going to be tougher, but also very rewarding when you finally get them. Also it just released, so it'll probably get easier as more people get accustomed to how to play.

I beat gladius on my first run with randoms. competency varies, but as people get filtered or learn the game the quality of randoms will go up. if you're really shit at the game, just grabbing a decent shield, pulling aggro and not dying is enough for someone to carry.

I hope they don't nerf strong characters but buff weaker ones instead, I'd like to see:

Executor stance skill "parry" window increased and make the sword a little longer, either make the dog form tankier or make it so that the skill has a separate HP bar from the regular form so that you don't die but revert into human form when it runs out with a small invuln period as it reaches 0

Give revenant a small but constant FP regen, something like 1-2% FP per 3 sec or make it so that she regains all her FP when she ults. Make her passive summoning proc off of other characters kills as long as they are close enough to her and make her active summons tankier or make them regen HP faster when they are dead, make kills heal her active summons

Give Wylder some more baseline poise

Buff the fuck out of Guardians current whirlwind skill or replace it with something else, buff his passive so that all shields gets a flat 10+ guard ability and add the "Draw aggro while blocking with a shield" baseline to his passive, speed up his preferred weapon animation while he is one-handing it

I'm still trying to learn this strat but stack as much ultimate charge as you can with the rememberance relics and get a fast weapon and a spammable incantation (preferably something with boss weakness). You can prioritize Rises for FP related buffs.
I think the best gameplan is try to spam your ultimate art as often as possible because it makes your summons use their ultimate skill as well. And with relics you can make yourself explode for damage as well.

Game was basically impossible the first several hours, and I can understand how frustrating it must have been for people while they angrily typed negative reviews. I just kept playing and things started clicking. It's now one of my favorite games ever. Really kind of depends on how you find the game (and other Soulslikes') multiplayer fun though. I spent a lot more time in Eldin Ring joining people's games just to help them out and found it fun, win or lose.

If you're ok losing a lot more games than you win and can have fun just with the moment to moment gameplay, it's fun. Meta progression isn't "super" important, and you get relics even if your run fails, so failing runs isn't the end of the world.

Really would like a solo mode (or mod) that makes it so fire only contracts when I press a button, just to take my own time and better learn the map and craft routes.

Me, my only friend who's into souls games didn't boughted it yet so I'm playing with randos. In my experience of around 20 runs you either get completely incompetent niggers who don't pick up more than one weapon or get lucky and coordinate shit with knowledgeable people, trade weapons and talismans, get boss weakness elemental weapons and so on.

a lot of the difficulty is in coordinating with randos, it's not THAT bad when cooping with people you know (assuming they're decent at ER and aren't retarded). first boss is the hardest because you're still figuring stuff out but it gets more even after that

rushing churches isn't a bad idea unless they're literally on the opposite side of the map. they're usually on the edges of the map and you'll be zoned out after first circle usually. bigger problem i have is people not caring about churches or mines at all

Play in co-op, that's what this title was created for. It's not the same as Dark Souls or Elden Ring, where you can finish at level 1. I completed the game in less than 3 days playing with randoms.

Electric is needed for all the best mixes though, just get your other elements in when he isn't attacking, it's all about timing, though I do agree it can get tiring if the element swaps a hundred times and you don't get what you were going for, but the other mixes aren't all that bad, with the exception of most of the holy ones.

Most of the relics are trash and have some many junk stats that it feels like im playing diablo 2.
