Feels like at some point in development they were gonna make them playersexual and then they walked it back. There's also a bunch of other seemingly cut stuff like how you can blatantly flirt with takamura but it doesn't go anywhere.

The worst part is that the coding in the game shows that Judy was originally romancable by both genders. Which means it was changed for the sake of politics to appease someone or a group of people.
