MDK dog fits into funny/slapstick, which might be ugly but is done so in an appealing way. Not sexually, of course, but still appealing.

“Pleasant to look at” doesn’t have to mean “sexually attractive”. The worst thing a character can be is bland or ugly in a boring way.

You need to balance it otherwise you end up with this weird disconnect like you see in some JRPGs, especially Final Fantasy where the main cast literally look like they might as well be a different race from the npcs.

I once ran a Pathfinder campaign with a player who was too weird, socially awkward, and horny for his own good. He kept trying to fuck NPCs so I started making more of them hideously ugly. A stronger player would have continued, undeterred.

It's a shame that they absolutely gutted her in OW2 because... I don't know turret bad. They literally turned her and mei into zarya but DPS while missing why anyone liked them. The most I can say is that she was a fun flanker for about 2 seasons when she could use her teleporter to and survive long enough to get a kill. Too bad they nerfed that too in return for standing back and holding alt fire into the enemy
