I love both games, but man the first one especially is so good.

Do anons have any recommendations for similar games that are less well known? RE4 clones, for want of a better term. Modern action survival horror, I guess. I want strict resource management, explorable environments and puzzles to go along with third person shooting.
Obvious ones out of the way: RE games, SH2 remake, Dead Space games, Alan Wake 2. Less well know, I tried the first Daymare and Them and Us, both pretty rough.

i'm not a big fan of overtly stressful and scary games i like silent hill but that's pretty much it would i like these games they're the only mikami games i haven't played yet :)

I didn't hate 2, but I never understood why it got better critical reception than 1.
Sure it's more streamlined, but it also lost a lot of the charm and vibes of slipping between a hodgepidge of dreams the first one had going on.
Also didn't help that the antag gets swapped 3 times with minimal foreshadowing.

You actually play as Kidman and her new black lesbian partner girl bossing your way through the latest fuck up they accidentally left on. All prior male character show up to be incompitent and/or comic relief. Sebastion can't do shit and does nothing but get saved by Kidman or black lesbo. Ruvik actually stole all his ideas as well, and the real proginator for it was actually some misunderstood chick in the town's cult.

I don't know why, but I have a strong aversion to "OMG I'M LOSING MY MIND!" content in video games. That goes for Silent Hill, the Solstheim content in Skyrim, dream sequences in Max Payne, etc.

Is it time for a playthrough? Tips for the hardest mode? I beat the first when it first came out but remember next to nothing about it. Also how is the sequel? Heard pretty mixed things and never gave it a shot

It's even more jarring because in the opening cutscene in the bar he really hams it up with that WHERE DID YOU GET THIS?! line. As the game goes on it gets better though and I didn't mind too much by the end.
