Should that even be possible?

None of that fluff and stuff to get in the way of my game
As it should be

It’s not. Neither A nor B exist.

Ther ere different types of games anon

Why you posted a stealth italy thread

art in games gets in the way of games

Every game now looks like pic related and only has the most essential sounds, enjoy

I'm here to play a game, not to watch a movie or read a book.

Retards love to jerk off narrow scope, safe, low risk, inoffensive, unambitious games because they have no glaring flaws

games with good stories always come at the cost of gameplay points, there is no 10/10 story game with 10/10 gameplay

Story is far more subjective than anything else thoughbeit

Gameplay is the most subjective on the list, you have people dismissing entire genres based on preference, you don't see anyone dismissing Mario because they don't like the story

Bioshock, New Vegas, Morrowind, Warcraft 3

Play more games

I'd rather play a below average older game than an "excellent" modern game that huffs its own farts with its story.

There's no actual 10/10 as in perfect. Some 10/10s are better than others. It just signifies that a game with that is at the very top of the list.

If a game has good gameplay, then it's because it has a good story that doesn't insist on itself and allows itself to be conveyed mostly through gameplay.
Movie games have shit writing and cinematography because the gameplay is tacked on and serves no purpose.

Then talk about those instead, what's the problem

Game B, I don't wanna play RPGs

Then remove the music because you don't want to listen to an album, and the visuals because you don't want to visit a gallery

It's called Astlibra Revision.

Bioshock

Best one out of the 4 desu but the plot still falls apart at the end. Also the save vs eat da baby moral choice shit automatically disqualifies the game from 10/10 story and gameplay.

New Vegas

The story is more interesting to talk about than it is in game because it's badly executed. Gameplay is bad. Art is bad. Music is kino.

Morrowind

Story is hard to judge. World is very interesting but plot is quite simple. Looked like ass even at the time but the scale is impressive. Gameplay also sucked.

Warcraft 3

never played desu I was always a starcraft kid

Lore is more important than story.

for some types of games, a story would just get in the way of the gameplay
tetris is a good example of a game that is made better by a lack of a story

Yo this shit is fire

The question is do 40/50 games like Tetris deserve to be higher on the list than 50/50 games

Let me tell you something 'bout a friend of ours-a named Jimmy
A made-a wise guy and a capo with the Gambini
But when he found out that they’d be whackin’ uncle Cheech
He take-a the boss, he threw him from the nineteenth floor suite!
Wasn’t much-a long 'til the mob all wants him dead
So Jimmy had no choice-a but to talk-a to all the Feds
The feds-a say they had to take him, use him as a pawn
So he ratted out his friends and moved to Saskatchewan
Fugget about it! Fugget about it!
Fugget about it, oh, fugget about it!

Bioshock

10/10 gameplay

Visuals and sounds obviously work with gameplay, it's what we react to. For Splatoon you have the little trail of someone swimming in ink, the snappy activation sound of a tri-zooka telling you to get the fuck out of dodge. That's why game B is the best. It's not like Splatoon's half-assed narratives have been any good.
Hell, I'd ditch the cute squid kids in a heartbeat if Tofu-sploon had good stage design, Splat3 is lacking.

Narrative can only ever detract from a game. Story is what the player does, narrative will always fuck up the story if it is not exactly what a player wants to do.
This is why 'You are the chosen hero meant to defeat the ancient evil' is the best possible narrative; because what happens is what the player wants to happen. No subversive jewish bullshit by faggots whose entire driving purpose is to inflict their sadism on the broadest audience.

Games just aren’t a good medium for stories.

Wc3 is the closest one here, but the music is kinda weak. It's mostly inoffensive ambient with a few memorable snippets here and there

Italy you have some nerve to show up after yesterday divegrass "performance"

names well known garbage

fellates himself with "play more games kid"

Holy tardfag

Everything is equally subjective and objective.

I can listen to music while playing, I'm not playing when I'm forced to watch story parts.

Story games are only popular because poorfags can watch them on youtube and effectively get a free movie.

i played too many games and stories arent innovative enough that ive began to prioritize gameplay and graphics over the rest

Carmack was right about story in vidya.

He has since changed his opinion on the concept, however, his initial opinion was correct. Focusing on story has caused more harm than good in vidya. Gameplay is THE star and making the narrative the focus is a good way to make your game shit.

Where are these people? Anon Babble? This shit hole is filled with posers who make lists with curated tastes to seem cultured, when all they do is shitpost about which girl they want to fuck and almost exclusively the story and the lore. Barely anyone talks about gameplay if it isn't unplayable or they're shitposting calling it "[X]slop."

I see this phenomenon applying to bing bing wahoo, Souls shit, and the occasional indie title but I tend to see the exact opposite.

And anons still haven't played them which results in stupid claims like "there are no good story games"

Sooner or later you're going to have face the fact most people you talk to on Anon Babble were raised on Subway Surfers, Minecraft, and Call of Duty, the oldfags who played every golden era classic are long gone

WC3 had better unit pathing then SC1, and took much of the ideas of that game to introduce the 2 new races in the Undead and Night Elves. All 4 races are reasonably well balanced with each having hard and soft counters to each other and before SC2, Blizzard still made cool and effective units and skills rather than just focusing on multiplayer balance. Maps overall much better and less likely to cause your units to go full retard, but they still do as there's an invisible box around units that if you block the four corners will stop a unit from escaping. The skirmish mode and custom map maker was noticeably better and produced all kinds of custom campaigns and mods that SC1 wasn't able to.

Overall a very good game. Possibly the best RTS Blizzard ever made.

10/10 story

But that's only happened once (E.Y.E)

Isn't he the faggot writer for the Borderlands series? Should he really be calling out someone else for bad writing?

less is more

Big Rigs is the best game of all time

How did we not see it before

it would be even better if it were little rigs

it's badly executed. Gameplay is bad.

New Vegas is literally one of the last games ever to have 10/10 gameplay

In the first place there's probably only a handful of games that ever could count as having 9/10 story let alone 10/10. Try naming 10 of them so that we can laugh at your tastes.

story is just a mother goose or fairy tale story retold

Story is below even music in the grand scheme.
