I've played all the JRPGs already. Persona is not some greatly written work but it is consistently well written with good theming and a good marriage of gameplay and story where both compliment each other. The games are always extremely topical to Japanese societal problems.

Repetitive dialogue, the worst characters in all of the modern personas, naive approach to dealing with evil, weird difficulty system that makes merciless boss fights easier sometimes, the party has barely no interactions between them, the palaces in the middle game have a horrible design, some confidants have broken abilities that make them a huge priority, Haru gets no screentime, Morgana and Devil shouldn't exist at all...

I do like Persona 5 but after reading about the early builds and scrapped party members like Mishima, Hifumi and Nanako I probably would've enjoyed that version of the game alot more.

The story's start is really good but the rest is kinda meandering

I think it was bold of P5 to start off very personal with the antagonists and progressively make them less personal and on a grander scale, demonstrating the average person's inability to care about anything that doesn't feel very personal, and then show how destructive that incapability can be.
A lot of P5's intent goes straight over people's heads. The average player isn't interested in good writing, they want to play as a teenager and date girls.

That also sucked but I can't help but feel the pyramid sequence just halted the story to a freeze so much to solely focus on Futaba which tired me out
