Marche fights the good fight by giving the people the lives they made by their own choices instead of a life fabricated around Mewt's hugbox. Their lives returns to the results of their actions and their consequences once again, as it should be. And Mewt returns to a thinking human, instead of a toddler. In the end Marche was Mewt's best friend, and the only one thinking on his well being, while Ritz and Doned all had selfish motives, only Marche saw things for what they truly were and fought for his friend well being instead of selfishness.

I'm pretty sure the 'leeching' thing happened only after Marche started breaking the crystals which were pillars of Ivalice's reality. Also you don't see this foreshadowed at any point in the game, so it sounds like a supreme asspull by the writer to justify Marche

Sequel should've been about how Montblanc desperately doesn't want to return to non-existence and tries resist/to run as far away from Marche as he can but Marche just keeps coming at him with his boner rock hard from the thought of getting to kill Montblanc all over again.
