I don't know about that. 1 million sales in 3 days for a game made by 30 devs is probably a very tidy profit. And even if it isn't "retire to a mansion"-tier money it's still pretty much set them up wonderfully in terms of a great career. Being one of the "Expedition 33 guys" is going to carry a lot of weight going forward.
Not to mention that the company itself can easily franchise or expand into other areas, now with a built-in fanbase.
