The "security vulnerabilities" are definitely overstated and it's nowhere near the issue people make it out to be. Some examples I personally remember from windows 7: I clicked a tinyurl link, and out of nowhere a malicious tab constantly kept opening whenever I started up the PC. Eventually got blocked and I manually disabled it. Also, whenever I would open google images from certain news websites, my AV constantly kept blocking something so something was definitely odd there. Maybe more mild inconveniences but can't remember them right now.

That said, chrome is only gonna support w10 for a few years and eventually will stop supporting it along with steam. People tell you to upgrade for your own good it's not elitism. If you can upgrade, it’s a good idea to do so. If you can’t, be proactive with data backups and start using a third-party antivirus to mitigate risks.

My old laptop was dying and I got a new one today. I already fucking hate Windows 11 after one afternoon with it, you even have to sign into a microdick account to use it, and all the ways online to avoid this no longer work.
I found I could bypass it by constantly typing the wrong password, then choosing another sign in method so it lets me use a password instead.

You don't even have to pirate Windows. You can download it legally from MS and use it indefinitely with no key if you don't care about the watermark and being unable to change your wallpaper. From the number of streamers I've seen with the watermark, a lot of people don't mind.

Valve flip flopped on it in the months leading up to the countdown finishing. First they said steam will no longer work, then they said it might work but future updates will probably break it soon, and then they said they're just going to pause updates on it entirely.

I wasn't taking chances and disabled the updater the second they announced the EOL and started the timer and its been fine since, the only thing that doesn't work are store page videos probably because of some video encoding but it works fine in Supermium.
