ok anon, you can pick two games, but no M-rated games!
What games do you get?
ok anon, you can pick two games, but no M-rated games!
What games do you get?
All I need is Halo 2
Why wouldn’t I be able to pick a M rated game when I was 23 at the time?
Wait that's M rated, I mean NFSU2
Sonic Heroes and Sly 2 Band of Thieves.
Blockbuster
2000+

I remember renting there until 2010
chat is this real?
How am I gonna have time to finish 2 games in those measly 5 days?
I have school and shit
last game I ever rented was Alan Wake
Warpath Jurassic Park and Dino Crisis. My mom let me play M rated games as a kid.

tfw faggot parents didn't even let me play T-rated games until i was actually 13 and only went to the video store 2-3 times a year

Hahaha... i think i'll pick a movie
i rented viewtiful joe and simpsons hit and run for gamecube
I only had handheld consoles at the time so I'd just pick GBA/DS games that looked good and went with it
Sometimes it ruins your weekend sometimes it doesn't
Getting Warioware Twisted from Family Video for like $2.50 cause they were gonna junk it otherwise was such a good fucking deal bro I wish I could go back and relive that
Huh? This looks fun.
I'll get Taz-mania too, Mega man is never available.
*Rides bike the next day to return overnight rentals*
i hated movie rental places
late fees
4 dollars to rent a new game for a day
you could buy a game for that price in 2025
it's always consumerist retards who look back at movie rental places and arcades with fondness. i am glad they are gone
are we going to have another millenial melty where they realize their nostalgia is shared with literal zoomers?
sarge's heroes
jet force gemini
box of sno caps
thanks dad
2004? Probably Disney Extreme Skate Adventure & Budokai 3
Yeah. Last game I rented was Operation Raccoon City
For me it's because my family was all living under one roof. We'd all sit in the lounge & view some kino on our fat-ass CRT television. Fish n'chips was right nexto video rental store so we'd eat at the dinner table too.
No bullshit mobile phone interrupting a siblings focus every 20 seconds.
All the sofa space was taken so I'd sometimes sit on the carpet. We'd probably go to the water park the next day, sometimes would be having a sleepover with school friend the night we rented.
Rest In Peace daddio
Beyond Good and Evil and Timesplitters 2 please, Mommy
mfw I wasnt even alive in 2004
Zoomers and Gen alpha will never know the true childhood bliss that was renting Goldeneye 64, buying a pizza hut and playing 4 player death match all night.
there were actually parents like this
I think I know why so much of my generation grew up to be soifaced reddit beardbabies now
Shit, I grew up playing Doom 2 when I was 5 and getting scared shitless by Resident Evil games. What's the harm?
mfw still not really alive
tfw discovered homestar runner in 2003
that faggot wasn't even alive when I graduated high school
haha time for another panic attack
having a panic attack in your supposed 30s or 40s
Gen Zbrained
SSX Tricky is the only game I need
I’ll rent a classic WWE PPV suggested by my dad and we’ll get some pizza and snacks and watch it Saturday night
tfw extremely Catholic parents wouldn't get me SSX Tricky because the title looked like SEX
Jedi Knights 2 for gamecube if they have it in, which they hardly ever did, not sure beyond that. the only 3 rental games that ever really stuck with me were Starfox 64, Yoshi Story and Jedi Knights 2
I bought Halo reach there on day one
Ancient ass boomer
>sarge's heroes
my nigga
I dont think a newborn can play games anon
2004
I was like 2 years old wtf am I gonna play other than shitting in diapers
Mine didn't care about me playing M rated games I had free reign
Which console from the 2000s (2004) would have had this furry fox boy?
He hates Nintendo
He hates Pokemon
He hates Nintendo franchises
He doesn't like the GameCube
He's not interested in Nintendo
He has the most anti-Nintendo console of all
At its peak in 2004,Blockbuster employed 84,300 people worldwide and operated 9,094 stores.
100% I rented a Wii game for UP from Blockbuster
Metroid Prime
Hmmmm MAYBE an Xbox or a Playstation
pretending to be an old fag when he cant even grow a beard
Mom doesn’t take me, I go there with friends, eat the candy on the shelves as I walk around and steal a DVD
Mods ban this underageb&-
Wait
mfw
Playstation and XBOX are based
I'll pick whatever the fuck I want. Its my money and you aren't my mother.
Goemons great adventure and Pokemon Stadium 2. Thanks Mom I really miss you
I've always ask this question of why do zoomies get so scared of being 30 or 40?
Did they get falsely psyoped by too much social media?
2004
no M-rated games
I'm 23 at the time
Who's telling me this?
People actually cared about age ratings back then?
i only rented nes/snes and n64 games from my blockbuster before it closed down, not my fault, i live in a shithole
Muh beards
Beards are for browns and basedboys lol
his beard is patchy
oof sorry buddy
2004
I was in my second year of college, I'll do whatever I want.
didn't say I can't get M-rated movies
Skip the games aisle and rent Debbie Does Dallas.
Pikmin 2 and DBZ Budokai
This needs to be in the filename thread... but I don't know what to call it.
My mother bought Starship Troopers from Blockbuster ($20) for bros birthday present, it was kino.
Years later me and a mate rented Starship Troopers 2. it was pure dogshit.
but no M-rated games!
My dad didn't give a shit, im renting the Resident Evil Remake and Star Wars Bounty Hunter
obvious projection
Tendie stealth thread.
I had given up on renting games by then because it cost too much to have enough time to get through a game.
my parents got me a plush toy of the 3 headed dog from the first harry potter movie from blockbuster as a reward for the first time I used a toilet on my own
I was like 16 at this point. So, whatever I wanted.
It was starting to die but not yet. Netflix wasn't really a huge thing at this point. Still a novelty.
yeah by then, it was all about buying 3 dvds for 20 bucks
10 bucks says you still go around here claiming to be some 05 oldfag
People genuinely believe once you hit 30 or 40 your entire body breaks down and you are too old to do any task.
This would only happen if you were like some drug addict that fucked your body up hardcore, or you had some underlying disease.
Even eating like a pig shouldn't cause that. If you're feeling worn out and dying at 40, you need to see a damn doctor.
My parents never had the m rating ban on me. But at that point probably either and I fell Street game or whatever NBA Street game.
Things existed before blockbusters
M rating ban
My mom was letting me play MK 1 in 92 or whatever when I was like 7. She never bought the "AHHH VIOLENT VIDEO GAMES POLLUTE YOUR MIND"
Shout out to warehouse video
14 (15 in October) of that year
I don't even remember renting anything from Blockbuster in that year, around that time we were mostly trading games at Gamestop
Everybody's scared of getting old for one reason or another. Losing certain youthful privileges, families start dying out, becoming out of touch with the next generation, rich guys and cougar moms not wanting to fuck you, becoming a wizard, etc.
I was using Netflix as far back as 2002. It was just a DVD Mail service back then and didn't do streaming until like 2008
I remember renting this as a teenager because the rating said there was female nudity, and I saw a screenshot of a naked woman in the shower. It was just a quick part of the intro, nothing was shown, and there was no other nudity in the game.
The game came out around April 2004 and was like Space Invaders. Despite the negative reviews, I thought the game was fun enough, but definitely underrated compared to the all the reviews at the time.
Bubsy was such a difficult game. Fall damage and one hit kills. Needed more polish.
Star Wars Battlefront and DBZ Budokai 2.
Adventure game character from a PC game, later ported to Xbox.
renting
Sonic OVA
the first 4 episodes of the Donkey Kong Cartoon
and literally nothing else
step foot in blockbuster
within minutes my dad and sister would jump out from behind the aisles holding chucky movies
i would burst into panicked tears and run to my mom
They did this almost everytime we stepped into a video store. I hated going to rent movies.
NFSU2 and finesse my mother to get me GTA SA
The furry fox boy doesn't like the PC at all but the original XBOX seems to be a good option for him
Yo that video store was open from 1894 through 1898.
I didn't realize video rental stores went back that far
Was it only open 4 years because TVs hadn't been invented yet?
Blockbuster was also where I discovered Chucky.
went one day to get a tape, likely the DK cartoon, I'm
got curious and went beyond the kid's section
reach the horror section and see the cover of Child's Play 2, the freaky one with the Jack-in-the-Box
admittedly get chills and a decade-lasting fear of the doll killer
And my family would make fun of me for the longest time for it. IT WAS REAL TO ME, DAMNIT!
Child's Play is a near-perfect horror movie, and Child's Play 2 is a great sequel
pic is related probably
Anon pick some for your chipped PS2 while I go buy some vegetables
get some modded GTA for PS2 with your city name that barely modifies anything and has a trainer in the game for some reason
Damn spicbros, we never knew how good we had it
Yeah I stopped going to my local Blockbuster when it officially closed in 2011.
I was in my second year of High School in 2004 and all that I cared about was watching GITS and playing GTA San Andreas.
born 2002
only got to experience a very small period of time where we would rent wii games
mario galaxy 2 was pretty fun at least
Moral of the story: I missed out, but I still have a good time. It helped that I had a wide section of VHSs at home. Even the Orange Tapes.
(me)
*immediately*
saw the first Spongebob Squarepants movie in theaters
in 2004 I was working at one, not having my mom take me there
this website is for us, not you. Fuck off to yours.
I'm gonna be laughing my ass off when I'm 40 something and all the zoomies mass suicide at 30
I bought my first JRPG from that place; used to go there and copy codes. I remember writing down how to do the Fatalities in MK 1 from there.
I don't even get why they're here with its outdated UI and and ancient layout based on a late 90's Japanese image board. All they do is cry about our stuff (that they weren't alive for), so why are they even here pretending they knew what the internet was like before it became lame and gay?
You live a city named San Andreas?
but no M-rated games!
imagine having faggy parents like this nice pretend zoomie you never experienced this
no parents ever gave a single shit about the ESRB rating
