I usually play Tank because I can't stand playing at another persons pace and I can't stand being told what to do. Plus, I think being Tank is generally the funnest. I think the only sector of the game that suffered in an appreciable way from that was partyfinder EX groups.
The only healers who took the strike seriously were the ones who couldn't hack it in anything higher than extremes, so normal content had enough scabs/people willing to swap for fast queues, and savage and up was unaffected because the healers there usually don't care about drama (plus you're retarded if you don't at least try and do a static for savage).

You can set your healbeam to stick to your teammates without having to hold down left click. Juggling my beam across an entire push is where the fun comes from for me.
