I have the strongest affection for Majora's Mask and Twilight Princess.

Most of Spirit Tracks' gameplay and dungeons aren't very memorable to me, but I can't fucking get the overworld theme out of my fucking head. It's been in there for years.

I wish the dungeons had unique songs, it was the one thing I really wish they changed from PH

Finally played Wind Waker and honestly can't fathom people putting it above literally any other. I used to hear complaints about Oot overworld being kinda empty but it's nothing in comparison to WW's sea, nothing but rupees that are worthless after fishing 2 chests. It's not a bad game but pales in comparison to any other

At the time, it was pretty unique. Nowadays we have more examples to compare it to, but most criticisms against Wind Waker (art style aside) didn't start popping up until years after its release. At the time, the only real bad things people had to say about it (art style aside) was the Triforce quest.

I mean how many games did you play back then that allowed you to freely explore the sea and find sunken treasure? It's not much now, but back then it was relatively unusual.

I started with Wind Waker, by the way. I ended up getting Majora's Mask and Ocarina of Time for my birthday the year after I beat Wind Waker. They were alright, but I didn't get the hype for Zelda until the Wii came out and I got to try the 2D games. I love the Oracles, A Link to the Past, and the Switch games (including Echoes of Wisdom), but the other Zeldas range from complete dogshit (Skyward Sword, Spirit Tracks) to just alright (Wind Waker, Minish Cap).

Even then, I think there's some worth in the shitty Zeldas. Skyward Sword had one of the best incarnations of Zelda, it had a singular cool dungeon, it had my favorite Zelda soundtrack after Wind Waker, and it had Groose.

The only nice things I can say about TP are that it isn't as shitty as Skyward Sword when it comes to gameplay and I want to fuck Ashei and Midna, but that's about it.

She's one of the, if not the, least wise Zeldas (Tetra gives her a run for her money), but she's otherwise intelligent and also the most powerful Zelda to date. The only Zelda that comes close to her in terms of power is OoT Zelda.

I vaguely remember Spirit Tracks because I replayed it like a decade ago. It's not a good game by any stretch of the imagination. It's one of those games better in memory than in actuality, like Star Fox Adventures or Metroid Prime 3.

The one thing I'll give Spirit Tracks, though, is it has hands down the best Zelda in the series. She's so full of life and personality that she's fun to see pop out.
