Normies are priced out of the switch 2

sales will fall off a cliff when diehard fans all get their units. People that are calling it the Wii U 2.0 are not actually far off especially now that they've ported all their Wii U games to switch and don't have anything to fall back on after Mario Kart and Donkey Kong release. Switch 2 will actually be catastrophic for Nintendo unless the system gets some deep price cuts and they sell it at a loss

yea yea we get it. you can't afford to buy your new toy so you lash out by making these retarded threads constantly

Federal minimum wage is 7.25 and has been so since 2009. But Nintendo wants you to pay $70 for a video game. That is ten hours of federal minimum wage for one video game lol.

I sure hope so.
I’m not a poorfag but I’m sweating getting on asap because I didn’t preorder.

Weird cope thread

You voted for everything to be more expensive, right?

normies can afford a ps5

but they cannot afford a switch 2

explain this.

In 2023, about 1.1% of hourly paid workers in the U.S. earned the federal minimum wage or less. This translates to approximately 81,000 workers making the exact federal minimum wage of $7.25 per hour, according to Statista.

Normalfags will be fine.

Reminder that the games theyve shown so far are already more worth it than anything exclusive for ps5
Not that thats a high bar to clear, but still

Don't need to buy games for a PS5

Unfortunately, I really don't think they are priced out. Most people can easily afford it and THAT is the problem. Gaming used to be affordable in a comfortable way. You could count on Nintendo's console to be the "cheap" option and then you had a bunch of 40-50 dollar cheaper titles, along with the bigger 60 dollar titles every once in a while. You weren't yet at the point of "Do I get two games this month, or groceries?" We have now hit that point for those living in abject poverty. It won't be until the next console that people realize they are getting screwed and will stop buying, at which point all the companies will be saying "You bought it before, why are you complaining now?"

umpteenth FUD/cope/schizo thread

this is getting ridiculous at this point.

I can afford it but I don't think it's worth my money. I already regret buying a switch 1. I was disappointed with Mario Odyssey, Zelda, and Pikmin 4. Unless switch 2 has some kind of amazing new game (which I frankly doubt) then I'm not going to get it.

I don't think Nintendo is as good as they used to be. Ever since the Wii era ended they've been falling off and decreasing in quality. I wasn't a fan of first party games on the 3ds either but Monster Hunter carried me through that generation. Switch/switch 2 really don't have a killer third party exclusive either. Almost every exclusive eventually comes to PC.

I feel like what a lot of people are missing about the Switch 1 is that a large part of its success was due in part to the price allowing families to justify buying multiple devices, physical game carts that made storage not that big of an issue, and digital games that allow playing a game across multiple devices easily. Cut out any one of those three things, and you'll cut off about 50% of the sales, Nintendo cut out two. If the Switch wasn't so cheap, I wouldn't have bought two, plus two Switch Lites for my kids. Might as well just get one Playstation and a cheap computer to emulate Wii/Gamecube games at this point.

I think that the hardware is priced fairly for switch 2. The games will need to bring back Nintendo selects or player choice editions.

She looks like she yoro's my pipi

my dad is about to die and our house isn't even close to paid off
how am I supposed to afford a switch 2

Sell his organs

get a job

I also watched the DYKG video, be sure to have liked and commented as well, they do good work.

No one actually makes the federal minimum wage, even fast food places start you at $12-15 depending on your state.

A lot of people view Nintendo consoles as secondary or tertiary, and that is their prerogative.

But Nintendo wants you to pay $70 for a video game.

You know this has been the standard for 5 years right

Why not just "officially" raise it then? It'll be good press for whoever does it

Bernie got robbed by the democratic party and the US has been spiraling out of control ever since. He was too good for us.

i can afford it i just dont think its worth it

everything about the switch 2 sucks from the forced announcement due to the leaks to all the new anti consumer shit. it does not feel like a new system more like a switch pro and i see no reason to buy one at this point

I wasn't going to buy a switch 2 until an anon was getting upset over preorders

how?

nintendo doesnt have the games normies love aka CoD and other Shooters. They regard it as a child's toy.

Lol that DYKG think that families are just going to get an Xbox Series X or Steam Deck instead of Switch 2 when neither have Mario or Pokemon

easy gig would be getting a forklift license

Its obvious video games in general are moving towards mostly catering to wealthy people.

all this talk about poor people made me realize I make 100 thousand dollars annually. but I don't spend money so it made me realize I can recognize brown people purely by their spelling errors and esl grammar choices on the internet. I still can't buy a switch 2 so I don't know what money is for. Dinky Cum Boneranza looks like it will be fun over a weekend.

at which point all the companies will be saying "You bought it before, why are you complaining now?"

No, they’ll double down on the “Get a second job. Start driving DoorDash. You could afford it if you really tried” rhetoric.

gaming has never been cheaper if you game via a basic computer and buy your games on sale.

i personally cant understand why consoles are even a thing at this point

I feel like the elephant in the room that people are try to ignore is that Nintendo makes good video games that don't always have a decent substitute on other platforms.

You kids will be begging to play the new Mario kart even if they have to share they don’t want to play on your boomer box

Because the 1% of people accepting minimum wage are high schoolers and college kids working for beer money anon.
Adults working literal minimum wage are either illegals who arent on the official payroll record and only accept it because they have no other choice or so retarded they probably cost their employer more than what their wage is worth and are essentially a charity case.

You kids will be begging to play the new Mario kart

kids dont care they watch streamers and streamers dont play nintendo games even if they wanted for the most part since nintendo demonitizes your videos

the days where you could buy a cheap game boy / ds or even now switch lite are over. nintendo should have had a switch lite 2 ready at launch to not alienate that market

Even then, that's 1/4th the sales out of my household. Like I said, may as well just get one Playstation and one Switch 2.

Not all kids are brown anon

kids don't play games, they jerk off to Minecraft porn and complain on internet forums about how Gacha games used to be better when they still shit their pants.

Minimum wage should be task jobs for the mentally disabled like bagger or dishwasher. Give them a place in society so they don’t just rot on the couch watching SpongeBob all day.

they are in western countries

minorities and third world filtered

This is going to be great

The video game company, with the most videogame IPs than Sony, Microsoft, and any video game development studio combined, doesn't have anything to "Fall back on".

Whatever chance you had for Nintendo "failing" is long gone. Virtua boy and WiiU barely put a dent in Nintendo pocket, what makes you think anything else will after learning from their mistakes?

Bitch.jpg - 480x360, 38.75K

Like it or not most switch players are adults they don’t have to cater to your situation they can tank the loss

There might actually be a Switch Lite 2 on the way, pay close attention to the reveal trailer.

I think they'll probably just buy a switch 1

only americans
you voted for this, remember
just buy two dolls instead of thirty dolls lol

should have been out on release

Anon, that was just CG demonstrating the size difference.

You have to be 18 to post here

$500 tablet that can only play $80 games

bringing back region-locking

bringing back censorship

canceling gold rewards program

physical copies are dead or just ugly

need to buy special micro sd EXPRESS cards

games still being made for switch 1

nintendo focusing more on anti-piracy than making games

charging $20 for a system tour

charging a small fee to "enhance" your switch 1 games

$20 annual fee for renting roms and online (+ $50 if you want gamecube)

no mainline Mario or Zelda to look forward to anytime soon

stupid extra "c"uck button that my friends will keep accidentally pressing. Cuz the home and snapshot buttons weren't bad enough

general no fun allowed vibes like miiverse or mii plaza or any cool quirky apps. Still no themes for main menu

Modern Nintendo is gross. Inflation is one thing but the nickel+diming with very little to play and anti-consumer shit has pushed me over the edge to finally say "no". Switch 1 was starting to show these issues but I was blind to it, maybe because the wiiU hardware sucked so much or because I had hope it would improve. Clearly not.

Also I've always kept my Switch docked and it's annoying that I'm paying more for the stupid handheld features I will never use. Woopie, the screen is now LCD at 1080p. Call me at who cares. I get that it's the main gimmick but I'm curious how many people actually carry their Switch around.

sddefault.jpg - 640x480, 66.42K

Bernie got robbed

You mean Bernie did the robbing. So many life savings gone, I can guarantee you somebody is "feeling the Bern!".

SOCIALISM!.gif - 376x228, 2.39M

Fair point. I would be fine with the price of the hardware if the games weren't going to be digital keycards. That and they cost $20 more than the Switch 1 games. It's odd. The Switch 1 was a great device that covered a lot of niches, whereas now it's more in line with Sony and Microsoft's offerings, but not as good. There's just so much shit stacking up around the release of this thing that it's just sucked any hope or optimism I had for Nintendo out in just a couple months.

>$20 annual fee for renting roms and online (+ $50 if you want gamecube)

i never got this why the fuck do i need to pay for online and extra to play fucking rom? just let me fucking buy that shit

sales will fall off a cliff when diehard fans all get their units.

Yes, and this is when nintendo will lower prices, that's how capitalism works.

$500 tablet that can only play $80 games

Nope, the price is varying quite a bit, and you can play your switch 1 games that cost significantly less with basic upscaling.

Would it surprise you if it was a subtle teaser hint for what the Switch Lite 2 will look like?

no mainline Mario or Zelda to look forward to anytime soon

Why is this a bad thing? Mario will always be there and Zelda went stagnant after two games.

and you can play your switch 1 games that cost significantly less with basic upscaling

lets see how they run first since the s2 has to run them through a emulator

I bet those workers don't give the slightest shit about video games much less the Switch
Those making less are probably connected to the food industry as servers who make up the difference in tips that due to Trump will no longer be taxed meaning they would likely be able to get a switch 2 if they wanted to especially once they can actually get the opportunity to buy one once its not sold out

because it needs a system seller exclusive

Donkey Kong Bananza is partially a mainline Mario.

It's not an emulator, it's a translation layer, like Wine.
Go on Anon Babble and call wine an emulator and see what happens to you.

That's what Mario Kart and Donkey Kong are for, don't be daft.

Both look like they could run on the switch. Not a system seller really

Normies will be priced out of gaming, in general. Switch 2 is $450 without a $100 Lite version price drop until, at least, 2027, Valve Steam Deck 2 Base Model will either be $500 or $550 depending on Valve chose Nvidia or AMD either releasing next year or most likely in 2027, next Xbox, if MS doesn't pull the plug, will be $1000+ in 2027, PS6 in 2028 will be $1000+ adding the tariffs, the PS handheld in 2029, adding the tariffs, will be $800+. Microsoft and Sony will stop making hardware in the near future, video games will belong to us again under Nintendo and Valve.

*choice

Cuz it was my greentext post and it matters to me. I only buy Nintendo for Mario and Zelda. And yes TotK sucked but I really liked Odyssey and BotW.

>need to buy special micro sd EXPRESS cards

Seriously? Is this like the sony propietary memory cards that killed the Vita?

It's not a nintendo exclusive chip, but sd express cards aren't that popular yet so they could be hard to find. And they cost more. And you can't reuse an old regular sd card. Just so loading times can cut a second at most. Not worth it.

While there are valid complainst there's so much retarded shit around this console's release that i'm starting to believe the dead internet theory or that there really are a bunch of thrid worlder terminally NDS sufferers

Games on key cards are cheaper, sometimes way cheaper
Bravely is $40, SF6 year 1-2 is $60

Cyberpunk and marvelous games are more expensive becaue they are all on the cart on release date and Nintendo's games likewise are fully on cart

The people bitching about this act like there aren't a ton of Switch 1 games they can still buy and opt in

If you're a first time switch owner you get your BOTW and ToTK and Kirby just for this thing and if you're not, you still have a decent amount of upcoming cross gen releases like DQ 1/2, Metroid and Pokemon Legends

You'd say the same thing if Odyssey and TotK had come out on Switch 2. Don't be so disingenuous.

What will they do when the new Pokemon/Mario/Zelda is a Switch 2 exclusive

It isn't even sold out where I am. Looks like a flop on the horizon.

only 15 year olds make minimum wage
you're too young to use this site

using a Mexican shithole as a metric

But I'm from an affluent European country.

I'm almost 30

Snoys getting desperate I see

Mario Kart World will not be the massive system seller that BotW was for Switch 1

Nintendo cant pad the Switch 2’s library with Wii U ports again to give the illusion of constant “new” games

Anyone who wants to play 3rd party next gen slop like Cyberpunk has already done so on PC or PS5/XSeX theyre not gonna settle for a gimped version on Switch 2

The $80 games pricetag will turn off consumers

FINE even if their first party games are like $70 or $60 still, it's not worth it to me anymore. It's 2025. When I realized I can get a $500 mini pc / deck / tablet that can emulate all this shit (for free) with free internet, it was over.

It's not like I want to pay for any of this shit. I put up with Nintendo's bullshit because I like their exclusives that much. I like playing online and having joycons in my hand. But they are making it harder and harder to the point that I'm gonna resort to piracy. Especially since they don't have any games the first year that I care about.

Also here's an example

BotW for WiiU/Switch - $60

BotW for Switch2 - $70 (does not include DLC, only "enhancements")

What the fuck is this??? Why do 8 year old games cost MORE? Why are digital versions still the same price as physical?

I get it, you're gonna say "it's Nintendo's right". Well it's my "right" to say it's scummy and I'm not gonna buy their scummy console.

Anyone can afford a switch2, it's just a matter if they want it bad enough. Nintendo adults will buy it without hesitation but won't most parents just look at that price tag and just get their kid a tablet/phone instead?

>Nintendo cant pad the Switch 2’s library with Wii U ports again to give the illusion of constant “new” games

It will be Switch ports this time.

Because it's the base game + Switch 2 upgrade that is sold separately for 10 bucks on the Eshop. Simple as that.
People who already bought a ton of games or buy them occasionally don't complain about game prices. Only jobless NEETs do, like I suspect you to be.
And in my case, I've spent a lot more money into a single release of a game, especially with imports back before the yen wasn't depreciated as it is these days. Although the Japanese still do pay nearly 10k yen for certain games like SMT, Nobunaga, SRW, etc.

$80 games, lmfao. They must be fucking high if they think I'm going to shell out that amount of money.
If you have a half-decent PC XB Gamepass alone gives you enough games to last you for ages.

Normies love Mario Kart.

not at all
this is just a new type of chip
the vita was sony hard locking the vita to ONLY take Sony branded SD cards

Most Game Pass games suck though.

I would have been an automatic purchase for me if it had proper backwards compatability and free game upgrades. I might get one in two-three years if some decent games come out for it. If Mario and Zelda are anything like the prior games though they can forget about me as a customer.

Why get that when you can just use Steam? Microsoft failed their mission with GamePass and with the Xbox console dying more and more every day, soon GamePass will go with it. The in-house handheld could have been a GamePass machine, but Microsoft completely missed an opportunity with it when they canned it.

You're so desperate to start a controversy.

$450 ps5 makes sense because most people don't want to throw down $2k for a prebuilt gaming computer.
$450 switch 2 makes no fucking sense as a family machine/portable, neither does $80 games and paid per game backwards compatibility.

nintendo has made every bad move possible

It's still going to sell out alongside MKW and Nintendo will just release a Switch 2 Lite two years later for $100 less.

PC vegans are poor

We know

i personally cant understand why consoles are even a thing at this point

I understand with Nintendo but I don't know why Xbox and PlayStation even still exist. Both Microsoft and Sony need to just go full third party and stop making hardware.

Everytime one of these corpos get a good generation they become arrogant and try to see what they can get away with in the next gen. They usually get punished for it but these are weird times and consumers are more accepting to taking it up the ass these days. Hope this things turns into the wiiu 2.0

Sony and Microsoft are 10 times worse, your only real options in gaming are Nintendo and Valve.

$450 ps5 - no games

$450 Switch 2 - has games before it's even out

Yeah such a hard choice

All I'm sayin is that consoles feel very anti-consumer now and I have been enlightened by PC.

I like nintendo games and pc gaming but every once in a gen there's a game like GTA6 that I really want to play day1 but don't want to buy a console for a single game

GTA6 can keep the PlayStation going until the PS6 but it won't save the Xbox, that's dead. I also hope GTA6 flops on Xbox so Microsoft can just can the next gen Xbox console and go full third party, it's time.

Yep, that's exactly the scenario.
You won't be able to emulate the switch 2 with this hardware tho, it is twice as heavy as the PS4 and will take 3+ years to happen.

Wagies will use credit cards and payments plans for stuff they can't afford

Pretty sure "normies" have better finances compared to basement dwelling neets

You're a loser on every front, anon.
NEVER forget

$500 for a ps5 with no games makes sense

$450 for a switch 2 with games doesn't

Amerifats can buy groceries on installment plans. Sales should be fine there

$450 is too expensive for most people, but not expensive enough to stop nintendo from selling out every unit they manufacture for quite a while.
Nintendo will pull a 3DS as soon the thing stops selling well enough.

I hope they have pretty good games for the new "ambassator" program this time around.

They'll just release a Switch 2 Lite with reduced screen size but it's unknown whether the drop will be $100 or just $50.

They're probably profiting per unit because they're nintendo.
There's probably 50-100 dollars to cut there, but it makes zero (0) sense to do it while every unit is being sold out immediately.

Walk on down to Main Street, ask to talk to your town's big company's CEO and give him a firm handshake.

Japan edition is already releasing at a $100 discount, $450 is just milking the international market.

Good I hope they rise the price

Its still going to sell out and Nintendo will make billions in revenue because people are more desperate for an escape from reality than they are desperate to hold onto $500 + tax.

This tells me the Switch 2 Lite will be $100 cheaper like its predecessor

I don't know if there will be a Switch 2 lite.
Sadly we're no longer operating under moore's law logic.
A "lite" generally happened when a new manufacturing process that could do the chips for the half of the price got mature enough, but this no longer happen since 10nm.

Normies

I believe you were actually referring to third worlders who are no longer able to pirate

If someone doesn't have moeny they pirate/emulate. There is no reason for them to complain about a console where there is no piracy (yet).

Normalfags are buying the $700 PS5, they aren't priced out. $450 might be too much for people to get multiple for their kids though, they might just get one for the household which actually will hit sales a decent amount compared to the Switch 1

Piracy is mostly for people with some tech skill.
Even among the third worlders, the most popular option is just to get the whatever equivalent to plus is in the platform.

normies are priced our of the switch 2

Translation

normies

I

are priced out

Am too poor

of the switch 2

To buy video games

You couldn't be more wrong. People from India, Brazil, Russia and Romania can download cheese pizza using torrent, and their respective governments are not going to take any action. It takes no skill to download or find warez in third-world countries; all they need to do is watch a YouTube tutorial

Yes we can, but that does require knowing what torrents are, and folders, and video players, and cracks and ...
Normies, even here don't know this shit.

retards on minimum wage still spend 1k on a phone they will only use for messaging and instagram ofc they will buy a switch 2 if they want one since most people have no impulse control.

No one, especially after covid, is making the federal minimum.

People actually think normies will buy a Deck?

I made around $5/hr at a McDonald's I worked at for five years and could afford vidya and anime on VHS.

Minimum wage is "the cut line for employment". you can't magically raise salaries with laws.

Cut a second at most.

Nigger, play Pikmin 4 digitally on the fastest possible SD card the Switch 1 can handle and say that again.

The Switch 2 is one of the most affordable gaming devices now that the other companies are upping their prices, actually.
And it'll continue to be so for many years. Sony priced the PS5 Pro at $700, only god knows how expensive the PS6 is gonna be.

I actually agree with OP.
It seems like another Wii U in the making.

All they had to do was to give us new generation of 3DS with proper tech and oled screens.

Instead they decided to confuse their consumer base again which will be catastrophic.

hairy ape.png - 758x787, 655.34K

Fuck, then chances are they'll make a Switch 2 that's the same size but is just basically a handheld with none of the docking Joycon stuff but still with the 8-inch screen for $400. What would something like that even be called?

Your post doesn't make sense. Why would a Brazilian who earns 300 US dollars a month buy a Switch 2 if he doesn't know how to use torrents? The typical "normie" still has a healthy brain and wouldn't spend all their money on a video game console that is simply too expensive. They would use Google and ask their family and friends for help in pirating these kinds of games. I think there is a misunderstanding about the term 'normie' here. You're referring to complete morons who can't even tie their own shoelaces. In the Third World, everyone pirates. You don't have to hide anything, which is why everyone knows someone who can do it

Switch 2 CORE

Faye, my beloved

Yeah, when i got my first paycheck from a summer job as a kid, I could easily buy a console a few games and still have a good third of it left over. If a kid was to try and do the same thing now, they'd have to finance that shit.

actually the switch 1 is considering it has the same exact games catalog minus a mario kart with a dogshit roster

scalpers will get them all

Nintendo keeps mailing me that they are getting stock in

Can’t wait to see actual sales numbers for this thing.

Gamestop was good at anti scalping here in Canada. In person only for most of stock, one per house, and $300 deposit.

I'm shocked how much they're distributing for the launch. Is this the most in history? Even for those who didn't preorder, if they want one, they'll get one.

mario kart with a dogshit roster

What you have against Cow now?

Something like that would probably release as soon as next year since the only thing different is built-in controls.

Remind me… what was the price of rent and groceries in the 90s?

I live here, and i see a bunch of people that can't even pirate movies, i'm some sort of "wizard" for em.
They all just get telephone plans that come free with netflix and all that shit, or directly sign to services.
Piracy here always been some dude that sells pirated DVDs on the street, and some "game shops" that have modchip installing services.

I can definitely say my parents wouldn't be able to afford to be 2 pack a day smokers, each. It was around $65 a carton back then which would last a few days, and it was a bitch trying to get a few bucks for a weekend rental. Absolute garbage people.

ITT: Poorfags snoys cope thread

Unironically what's the appeal of the Switch 2?
Got the Switch OLED model a few years ago because I really liked the idea of switching between docked and handheld + the last Nintendo console I owned before that was the DS so I was curious how much Nintendo flagship games improved over the years.
I quickly realized most games were unoptimized and technically inferior while succumbing to the open-world-disease.
Also the official emulation catalogue is a fucking joke.
In the end my Switch turned into a fucking paperweight.
Now they're trying to sell those exact games again for full price so they can actually run stable on a slightly enhanced paperweight?
What fucking lobotomized subhuman would fall for this shit?

It's what kept them alive even in the nadir of the Gamecube era, they simply had stuff that would just never appear on any other competitors system. And while their games are often extremely overpriced, they are still consistently good, and that reputation means a lot for getting repeat customers. Sony and Microsoft on the other hand haven't been releasing any first party titles of worth, overpriced or not, for going on ten years now. Nintendo systems are also just plain easy to use. every XBox UI since the 360 Blades were replaced for instance has been purposefully designed to make it difficult to find and start a game so as to maximize the time you are exposed to ads and micro transactions. And both PS and Xbox ui's are filled with clutter and online shit that takes time to load and slows everything down. Nintendo you just put in Mario kart, you play Mario kart.

Slightly enhanced

Compare Witcher 3 on Switch to Cyberpunk on Switch 2.

You're delusional anon, 8 years ago you'd be saying the WiiU was proof people wouldn't pay $300 for the Switch.

They have no substitute, 3D Mario's exist in a league of their own, Mario Kart is as widespread as racing can be appeal wise, and no one other then Nintendo would dump lots of money into shit like Pikmin.

I'm not americ*n but is that 7.25 before or after taxes? And is the 70 also before or after taxes?

Your personal desires are not facts faggot

You can smell the desperation from OP, and his ilk, they've been posting this shit for days now

If you're a new switch owner, you get literally all the Switch 1 back catalogue at your disposal on release date in addition to the new games

If you aren't new and are already in the ecosystem, guess fucking what?
You get MK world and new cross gen games releasing during the launch window
You don't want SF6 or Cyberpunk? Okay, here's Rune factory, Story of seasons, Daemon X Machina 2, Metroid, yadda yadda

But OP is probably huffing tranquilizers so his heart doesn't stop on thruday

just let me fucking buy that shit

Ok

VC comes back

GC games now priced at $30 - $40 each

also linked to your Nintendo Account so you can't load them into an SD and play them on another Switch

You're welcome :^)

With Moore's Law slowing down, will the Switch 2 and Deck 2 be the last ones, meaning no reason for Nintendo or Valve to advance further with the tech? A Switch 3 and Deck 3 wouldn't be cheap and it would take even longer for another generational leap which seems dead. Would people even move to a Switch 3 or Deck 3, by that point when they're already comfortable with the Switch 2 and Deck 2?

Switch 2 is coming out out of date like how it has 8nm chip dyes. They can justify a Switch 3.

I see, Valve though will probably just let OEMs take over since the Deck 2 should be good enough unless there's another major generational threshold to overcome.

Borderlands 4 is gonna flop and Switch 2 will underperform hard. You can't stop foolish people from buying expensive paperweights, but if mom has to choose between a $350 dollar and a $600 dollar purchase for Christmas, the choice is very easy.

Cheaper access to new games

B-but build cheap PC

No. It's not cheap or easy, and you don't understand normal people.

but if mom has to choose between a $350 dollar and a $600 dollar purchase for Christmas, the choice is very easy.

Why do idiots like you still think that Nintendo's target market are kids and only clueless parents will buy the console? When it has been proven for years at this point that the target market are mainly people between 20 to 40 years old who buy the consoles and games for themselves. No one gives a shit if Timmy's mom is stupid enough to not know that she needs to buy the console with the massive 2 printed on the box.

Not taking into account half of budget going into housing

Not taking into account 1/3 for everything else

More like 50 to 100 hours to buy a video game

Video games will belong to us

You were so close then you huffed the copium

good
poorfags need to stay out of gaming

That's the thing, moving to 4nm or 2nm or anything like that won't make the chip any cheaper, if anything it will get more expensive.
We can't do true die shrinks anymore, so it's basically ((8nm)) ((6nm)) and all that, just improvements in the components themselves and more manufacturing steps being added.
It is pretty surprising that intel was the last manufacturer to start lying despite where they reside.

most people bought 2nd hand.

By manufacturing processes alone that will not happen indeed, but there are a few tech steps that may make a next generation viable 5-10 years from now.
For example, the switch 2 RAM use stacking of several cheap chips which allows it to deliver a lot more space and speed per IC than if it was just "better manufacturing".
At some point we will start to stack processing chips like that.

But not in time for a 2028 PS6 launch.

they have a new policy in place called "Respect the value" which is the opposite of that. anyway I'm not giving people who killed iwata money so easily

Because they are a significant statistical percentage. We all know you Babies will buy the console regardless, but if the S2 can't capture other demographics besides you, then it will UNDERPERFORM, which is the operative word a specifically chose. You economic illiterate.

Once a lite version releases it won't be a problem.
The real issue is that the last update with the digital game cart shit made it way more expensive for families. Now you can't buy a game digitally on a parents' account and download it across multiple kids' switches if they want to play on their own user accounts.

Timmy's mom isnt dumb anon, she's choosing the cheaper option.

Normies aren't priced out, kids are
Nintendo either accepted that consoles are a dying market and are trying to cash out
Or they're knowingly sacrificing their future generations' success to maximize shareholder value now

considering they killed iwata over stock prices yeah its probably the 2nd one.

Parents will still get the Switch 2 for their kids, even a Switch 2 that's $50 cheaper because it'll just be a handheld and nothing more.

Nintendo needs to stop making consoles. They can make peripherals and put their games on Steam/Gamepass.

Lots of tech in the last year to justify a Deck 2 next year

3nm chips as of this year

Wi-Fi 6

FSR4 which is first FSR to not be completely useless.

Get VRR on a OLED screen and we're golden.

Some anon has already made the correct prediction. It won't be the "WiiU 2", but the "3DS 2". Nintendo will manage to avoid disaster, but in the end, the Switch 2 will fall short of what the Switch 1 achieved.

There's also fact that parents are gamers now. Brother is pushing 40 and he has a Switch 2 pre-ordered for both himself and for his daughter to play Mario Kart.

implying normies were confused about the PS2

implying this isn't the 3DS to the Switch's DS right down to the sales

this is getting ridiculous at this point

The schizo meltdown was predicted. All according to plan.

you are so retarded yucknaka fag

a few fun choices dont make fishbone or snowman suddenly good

Yup, Nintendo won. Nintendo knew who their audience was for years and never dropped them like Sony and Microsoft did. New Decks are also good entry points into PC gaming especially when GPUs are getting more expensive.

It's seriously going to flop with many of the games still coming out on switch 1 as well. I've even heard that Pokémon gen 10 is a cross gen title. Nobody is going to buy switch 2 over the cheaper 1st one.

Instead they decided to confuse their consumer base again which will be catastrophic.

Yeah they're sure confused about the #2 on the product.
Playstation 6 is destined to flop bigtime.

At this point it's better to develop a new hologram screen box than computer hardware. Which is why peripherals are the future.

God next week when we get the report that it had the biggest launch out of any console ever the cope is gonna be glorious

N-nooo just you wait it'll stop selling in 2 weeks

The Wii U also sold well at launch!

Ackchyually it's not selling as much as the Wii+DS combined therefore it's a flop

Switch

Switch with a 2 being added at the end

this is confusing

I can't tell if I'm being baited or if this anon is stupid

People have been saying "s-switch 2 is confusing!" for a while like the PS2 wasn't more successful than the PS1

Wtf has nintendo been doing for the last 5 years? Did everyone at nintendo get vaxxbrain or something? I assumed the low game output was because they were all working on switch 2 games and wanted a strong release window like for the switch 1 but that doesnt seem to be the case. It's like the last big game they made was animal crossing 5 years ago and ever since then its just been niche slop. Where is the new zelda? Where is the new mario? Last zelda and mario

Nobody is going to buy switch 2 over the cheaper 1st one.

Yeah, nobody wants the new iPhone every year. Disaster in the making.

That ad shows why Playstation won. $75 games vs $40 games. Cartridges are a shit format that are way too expensive.

It's all based on >once nintendo set a price, it is THE price it will be, forever
As long the switch 2 keeps emptying the store stocks, it will keep this price, and when it stops, IF it stops, nintendo cuts the price and the machines keep rolling.

Cartridges are a shit format that are way too expensive.

They don't ROT like discs do.

has the most stock of any console launch

scalpers will ensure everything is bought out

I mean that's not saying much. The Nintendo sphere is notoriously bad for scalping, the Amiibos were bad but anything Pokemon related is an actual nightmare.

Lol, no

The only place I've heard that hires at federal minimum wage is Gamestop. No one shops there anymore except for pokemon cards. All they need is a warm body to hit the alarm in case someone tries to rob the store.

God, I miss the days when video games were real competitions. I also miss when video games were for kids and sold in Toys "R" Us. My parents bringing me to Toys "R" Us felt like a dream. What a great loss.

The boards can still fail, disc rot isn't common regardless.

Uh no.

game prices getting in the way of your well deserved enjoyment of Nintendo™ games? We are here to help! Apply for your Switch loan, today.

if you are getting $7 after the age of 18 you should kill yourself now

Yeah its gonna sell well, but not as well as the original switch, thats a pretty safe assumption.

And yet cartridges are still a thing while discs have stopped containing the full game for years at this point while still costing the same.

I want to say 4.25.

Unlike its friendlier designed predecessor, Switch 2 looks like some serious business "pro"-device.
Parents won't be keen on giving that type of tech to their clumsy ass kids.

Leave in Dock where kids can't reach

Enable parental controls so they can only play a few hours a day.

So hard.

If you're making minwage or near it you're not paying any tax but FICA.

They will absolutely demolish and scratch the thing regardless and it won't look as cute and acceptable as on the switch 1

Cartridges have been doing that too and now they're effectively dead with Game Key Carts being the norm on the Switch 2 for third parties.

I don't know, maybe Nintendo should've actually made one of those their Switch 2 launch titles instead of fucking 3D Donkey Kong which hasn't had a game in 26 years

yeah but they're considerably more expensive than the same versions on Switch 1 and don't offer enough new stuff to justify it

In 2017 the median household income was about 60k and the Switch cost 300, about 0.5% of that. Today it's about 85k and the Switch 2 costs 450, about 0.53% of that. It's about 6% more expensive; we'll see technically fewer sales, but not by much.

Tendies dont understand that the new CEO is a jew banker and he only cares about shareholders. Which id why youve never seen him in a direct.

It used to be profit first goes to nintendo then they cut prices and reward their customers.

Now prices never ever go down.

Don’t worry, they ran out of Wii U ports but there’s plenty of PS4 ports to enjoy!

There is still Yoshi's Wooly World.

This

go back to resetera disgusting tranny

there's no bigger system seller exclusive than mario kart you disgusting faggot snoy

No one, not even in backwater bumfuck states make that little. at minimum fast food employees are making like $15 an hour.

I live in Switzerland, earn 150k/year of disposable income which is considered middle class here and I won't buy this shit.
I'll just stick with my Switch, didn't mod it yet so that could be a nice little side project, maybe OC with a custom backplate for better fps.

I miss the 90s. I could get everything in these catalogues for pennies or just rent them out later on down the road

Normies are priced out of the switch 2

Other way around. Children are priced out of the Switch 2 for the time being with saved up pocket change. Normie adults are more than fine dropping $500 on a machine they'll use for 60% of their gaming

normies are in love with mario kart, bing bing wahoo, and zelda. even weebcore like fire emblem sells well among normies now

Don't worry, a Lite variant will come in two years, the kiddos will be fine as they always are.

use for 60% of their gaming

lol

ITT: People cannot come to grips with the relative strength of their dollar slipping to inflation.
ITT: People cannot into hardware pricing.

The Switch 2 hardware is priced very fairly. You can complain about $80 launch pricing, but then you gotta take that up with every other major publisher who have been selling you $70 + $20 games anyway.

Nintendo makes better games when they don't cater to normies. Wii u, n64 and gamecube had the best games. All this means is switch 2 chads will get the best games.

It's not nintendo's fault Biden printed 6 trillion trying to fight an imaginary cold.

Glad the normie fad of gaming is finally dying.

Still got enough to buy a blowjob off your whore mother.

I sure loved Amiibo Festival and two NSMB back to back.

Tendies are far from normal.

Preorders everywhere cancelled already

Likely delayed another few months AGAIN

Am I schizo or are we heading into the biggest video game market crash since 1983? Games are getting way too expensive lately.

Notice how it says the federal minimum wage or less?
Meaning everyone making 7.26 an hour or more isn't counted.
Retailers will start you off at 7.25 and give you 5 cents after your 30 day probation period meaning you're not counted even though you're working 4 days a week for 7.30 an hour (Because they don't hire full time)

There wont be a 1983 style crash. What you'll see is smaller budgets. There's too much of a distribution pipeline (the internet) nowadays where if a company wants to get out they can.

tfw I got a dime raise one year when I made minimum wage

Do you know how hard it is to find someone who closes and never calls out?

won't most parents just look at that price tag and just get their kid a tablet/phone instead?

No. I was perfectly fine waiting until I stumbled on one in the wild and getting it then, be it day 1 or 100. But then my daughter said she wants one. Now I'm going to be standing in line for hours to make her happy because I want to spoil the shit out of her.

There could be a 1983 style crash, because that crash only impacted one part of the industry and nothing else.

This isn't going to end well for Nintendo. They haven't been great for decades anyway. Nothing lasts forever.

luckily they have a massive new development building on the way. Nintendo is always 2 steps ahead anon

normies don't give a fuck about fire emblem lmao

the nintendo pendulum is real
they get cocky then the market pushes their shit in and have to get it together rinse and repeat

Bernie got robbed by the democratic party

"robbed" aka he lost the primaries? lol

It's too expensive

$150 more than the switch in a time where everyone’s in a tough bind financially, for many it more than they can chew

But you can get am[insert another console] for less

Will give you that one, everything’s been getting more expensive

But the accessories

All of which have gone up thanks to tariffs, yes

It doesn't have a great launch lineup!

Mario Kart and Bananza, afterwards just a bunch of games with no dates

It's gonna be a Wii U all over again

Not gonna be a Wii U situation, but it won’t match the switch either

Likely delayed another few months AGAIN

So I see this is the new cope. 4 days left, make them count.

Yes. $450 is around the same as the PS5 and that one is doing fine.

But Nintendo is the cheap option!

lol no they're not, like I said before the Switch was considered expensive by many when it came out
They went up by like what? 5 bucks?
Also Pokémon in Oftober and they always have a Direct in June, I'm sure they'll announce the dates when the timing is right
You're right, it's gonna surpass it. 2.2 million registered in Japan ONLY for a chance to get one.
The Switch 1 sold like 300k at launch back in 2017.

That was the past.
Now people view Playstation consoles as secondary or tertiary

Is switch 2 the least hype "major" console launch of all time?
I barely see people talking about it, I can hardly believe it comes out this week because it just feels like nothing, not even the usual games speculation that comes with new Nintendo consoles it's just...empty

Is switch 2 the least hype "major" console launch of all time?

Just on Anon Babble, IRL people are discussing midnight launches and they are sold out everywhere

No, trailers have stupid high view counts and there's like 5 threads at a time.

Is switch 2 the least hype "major" console launch of all time?

I never understood why people shitpost like this. Who cares if it sells well? Why do you care? Why do you need to convince strangers on the internet it won't sell well when you know it will? What does that accomplish? You know they'll still buy it if they want, they're not going to say "Oh people aren't buying it in droves? Guess I won't either!" Infact you're convincing more people to buy it cause they'll think places won't be sold out.

It triggers my autism. And I am very autistic.

Even on this shithole there's plenty of threads about this console lol

I fucking hope this happens so Nintendo turns into less greedy jews. They went full in when people bought switch 1 im masses.

I will get this piece of shit when it goes down to 400$ in the price drop.

It's worth it if it sends a message to China.

Really doesn't seem like that many, especially when most of it is shitposting or talking about the price

I think more the normie families will just buy a cheap bootleg emulating console of alliepress or temu.

No THAT doesn't count as hype

A bunch of really sad individuals are on a personal crusade against nintendo, and all they can do is lash out at the switch 2, don't need to take them seriously

Ya but why, that's what gets my 'tism. They're doing nothing. Accomplishing nothing. It's just a waste of time

You think normies know how to emulate?

If you don't count rage threads the amount of threads that have been made on this board must be crazy low

They do if it's on smartphones and a tiktoker gives them a handholding guide.

really gotta wonder how much Nintendo is panicking over it, they really couldn't have thought 1 direct and 1 remade Ad was going to be enough to sell this thing, it's one thing when people aren't talking about it but when the company themselves don't care it's really an anomaly

Me too.

Yep. OP probably elected the destitute ice cream enthusiast into office and this is the first time he's experiencing the effects of inflation.

don't have anything to fall back on after

lmao it's over, nintendo can't make new games!!
how did nintendo make the wii u games? nobody knows!!

Normies are priced out of the switch 2

they'll just have to save longer to buy it, and by then there will be more games
it's fine

price cuts

did a price cut ever happen for switch 1?
with switch2's hardware, price cuts are unlikely for years, and each dollar is decreasing in value

I dunno man, the gaming market is WAY fucking bigger than it was in the 1980's. Hundreds of billions have been shoved into what used to be a very niche market in just 25 years turned it into a gigantic bubble waiting to burst.

Anyone can make a distribute a game nowadays. I just hope the big studios go bust and have smaller, more creative ideas win out.

You weren't yet at the point of "Do I get two games this month, or groceries?" We have now hit that point for those living in abject poverty

This is what XGP is trying to prevent. Even if it’s M$ pushing not owning your games, it’s a sweet deal because it is, because with the prices of now most people won’t be able to afford all of these games. That’s why XGP is so popular.
They are unironically trying to price us out of owning games to shift us into a state of complete control.
The problem is that Nintendo doesn’t have an XGP competitor yet. NSO is mainly old games.

$5-10 for indie games $20 for AAA/high production games.
$150 for handheld consoels and $300 for "real" consoles.
These numbers, no ((adjusting for inflation)). Fire the marketers to make the finances work.

If Nintendo's fucked then everyone's fucked. If no one can afford a Switch 2 you think they'll afford a fucking ps6 or next Xbox?

Hell, they're raising the prices on 5 year old systems now.

preordered 3 switch 2's from multiple retailers

offered to friends and no one wanted one

will these have any resale value at launch or should I just cancel the orders?

Nintendo's producing shit tons so probably not worth the risk.

Scalper looking for help

Lmao get fucked.

gonna use klarna to buy one, so i dont really care

Where is the new zelda?

tears of the kingdom came out in 2023 and sold over 20 million

I put mine on PayPal Credit.

You also need to account for the cost of the production of physical copies.

last mario came out 2 years ago, if we don't count mario kart which releases in a few days
zelda echoes of wisdom came out last year
you're retarded and your bait sucks

Switch 2 will actually be catastrophic for Nintendo unless the system gets some deep price cuts and they sell it at a loss

How many times do I have to say this Nintendo has a stupidly high "floor". Mario and Pokemon alone pretty much guarantees 40 million unit sold bare minimum. That is 8 million more units than Series X/S lifetime sales.

The fact Switch 2 can sell out instantly on a fucking spinoff of the Mario franchise at fucking $80. Highlights the absurdity of their high floor.

paypal pay in 4 lol
also, just trade in your old switch

I can afford one but none of the games announced so far are interesting to me

What about old games running better?

the switch needed an update for years!!!

good
the same thing happened with the 3ds and it resulted in the best video game handheld deal ever given
cant wait

It won't sell as much as Switch 1. That's why they did a calculation to make the same money with 80$ games and higher priced consoles.

$5-10 for indie games $20 for AAA/high production games.

just wait a year for steam sales then

4 swords tier spinoff and thats unfair to 4 swords because at least it did something new

Ok ypu got me on 2d mario but it was an underwhelming game. Zelda echoes was not even made by nintendo, its another grezzo game. Mario kart looks boring as fuck that series peaked 20 years ago but im sure the goycattle will lap it up

you can buy sd express cards but they're hard to come by. it's not like regular SD cards or sdxc cards which grow on trees.

actually kind of based from nintendo, sandisk offers a 256 gig one for $40 right now which will probably last you two years at the rate they're releasing games for this fucking thing

paid off in full

giving my old switch to my nephew for free at christmas

wonder

underwhelming

not reading further, your bait sucks 0/10 apply yourself

Giving mine to my parents for Switch sports.

bring back Nintendo selects or player choice editions.

Historically they roll those labels out at the end of a console's life. Normally we would've seen them about a year before the Switch 2 was announced, but perhaps Nintendo is planning some aggressive old gen price slashing after the Switch 2's launch. Or maybe the economy has just been that fucked in the wake of covid and all its fallout.

The only time we saw the discount labels rolled out early was with the Gamecube and that was Nintendo getting desperate.

I get it, MK is not as excitibg as a new 3D Mario or Zelda game to some people, but that game is not just some "fucking spinoff", it's Nintendo's biggest exclusive.

It's arguably a bigger deal than BOTW.

people justify it a paying $450 to play nintendo games, which you can't do on a computer for $450. A top of the line rig from yesteryear can only finally start playing Switch 1 games.

It still makes no sense because a Switch 1 is sub 150 right now if you know where to look and all of the games advertised for the switch 2 except Mario Kart are on the switch 1.

Which is a fair assessment. I have no doubt they probably incorporated that into the pricing strategy. Which us logical since only a fool would bank on their next console doing better than something that sold over 150 million units.

But people talking about Switch 2 being a failure in the making do not understand the situation here. Are people expecting the Mario and Pokemon fandom collapsing out of nowhere?

Normalfags won't do this just because piracy isn't legal.

ITT: People cannot come to grips with the relative strength of their dollar slipping to inflation.

ITT: Corpo nigger tries to explain why people need to pay more because you're bad with money.

Your companies suck at spending and pricing, time to come to grips with that. It's not an inflation problem, it's "the industry are a collection of baby ducks walking into a sewer" problem

Nintendo is planning some aggressive old gen price slashing after the Switch 2's launch. Or maybe the economy has just been that fucked in the wake of covid and all its fallout.

Nintendo's going to use Switch 1 upgrades as direct filler and keep them full price with the $10 upgrade fee.

do people really think zoomers don't pirate more than we did? they even have it easier, their piracy sites are in the clearnet.

It's 15,000 mexican pesos for the version with mario kart, the game by itself costs 2,000 pesos
2,000 pesos is a weeks worth of minimum wage work in mexico, 15,000 is nearly two months worth of minimum wage salary.
the switch without game was available at 10,000 pesos without a bundled in game so that's a 35% price hike over the previous generation.
Crazy shit.

ITT: People cannot come to grips with the relative strength of their dollar slipping to inflation.

ITT: People cannot into hardware pricing.

ITT: You can't cope with that not being my problem, nor it being my problem to fix or even think about in my purchasing decision.

The Switch 2 hardware is priced pretty shitty when I can buy a $150 handheld from China that plays Switch 1 games for free.

Why do I have to subsidize inflation for mega corporations when my salary isn't going up to keep up with it?

but that game is not just some "fucking spinoff", it's Nintendo's biggest exclusive.

No, Pokemon is Nintendo's biggest exclusive. Hence the fact Pokemon being bigger than fucking Star Wars and Disney. Hence why historically even if Nintendo's main console falls short (N64, Gamecube and Wii U) their handhelds remained stabled. Mario Kart (particularly the 8th entry) has just sold the most units.

that's because orange man went full retard on global trade tariffs. prices of everything have gone up instead of down.

way to fix the economy.

spinoff

nigga its a direct sequel to a mainline installment

mneuhehunemneueh

Shut up, this isn't the first time Nintendo had to cope with poor economics conditions, they released the Wii during the 08 crash and it dominated the console market

This is little more than bad leadership, they don't have an Iwata, they don't have someone who understands what people will pay for a piece of entertainment hardware.

I can buy a $150 handheld from China that plays Switch 1 games for free.

That will probably stop working after a year.

$500 for PS5

Normalfags: :)

$450 for Switch 2

Normalfags: >:(

*06 crash, yknow when people were getting locked out of their own homes by banks

Just like the shitty joycons

Even if that were true and I bought a new Chinese chinkheld every year at $150 it would take two and a half years to make up the difference and even moreso because I get the games for free.

meanwhile the switch 2 will have a price cut by next december, all nintendo consoles do around christmas.

$500 for four year old hardware

$450 for eight year old hardware

looks like normalfags have this one right chief

Does it include any of the new tech available for years on other consoles like VRR and M2 storage or are we still going to suffer from inconsistent framerates and slow as shit SD card storage speed?

No one said anything about zoomers but if you really wanna play that game, there have been reports that younger generations can't even wrap their minds around a file system. But I digress, making this about generations is unironically moving the goalpoasts. We're talking about NORMALFAGS, and NORMALFAGS recoil at the mere thought of breaking the law. They are the people who eat up propaganda, they are the people telling you that emulation is illegal, that piracy is theft, that you should support the developers.

their piracy sites are in the clearnet

And so were millennials'. We had a million fucking options for getting roms and for anything else you had TPB and even just a google search could point you to some illicit vidya. Hell, it was even easier back then. Media industries took years to figure out how to even target pirate distributors.

Switch 2

8 year old hardware

Retard

that piracy is theft

It is, by definition.

they released the Wii during the 08 crash and it dominated the console market

The Wii was a slightly overclocked Gamecube. The Gamecube had its price slashed to $100 midway through its life. The Wii launched at $250. So you were paying an extra $150 for gimmick controls.

That's all thanks to stuff like plushies and cards. As far as games go MK is the real deal.

Nintendo had to cope with poor economics conditions, they released the Wii during the 08 crash and it dominated the console market

And it was super cheap. Snow White did very well during The Great Depression and it was because movies were a very cheap past time for families.

Anon, you can literally get a PS5 for the same price or less.

But PS5 has no games

But PS5 can play GTA6, which i think a lot more people are looking forward to than Mario Kart World or DK Fellating Bananas.

So? Mexico is known for having shit videogame distribution and anything related to technology tends to get their prices spiked to hell because of "tariffs" and "importing costs". This applies not only to videogames, but to phones and PC components too to mention some, $15k pesos for a Switch 2 is nothing when the newest iPhones can go as high as $40k. You either wait for prices to go down and for sales, or ask someone who goes to the US to get you a Switch 2.

Also, remember that the USD price is $500 for the bundle BEFORE regional taxes, mexican prices already include the tax in them.

But muh GTA

And I'm sure that GTA on the PS2 made the PS2 so much better than the GameCube, right? Don't make me laugh

which i think a lot more people are looking forward to

I would contest that opinion. I wouldn't say "more" people are looking forward to Mario Kart or Pokemon since that's coming out at the end of the year, but it's gotta be neck and neck, no? GTA6 is going to go insane, I know, but does it really beat out Mario and Pokemon? Scarlet and Violet sold 26m copies, and Mario Kart 8 alone sold almost 76m.
So let's round that to 100m. Will GTA6 beat that in a relevant timeframe?

I just looked it up and yes it totally will gta 5 has sold 200m+ copies.
So fuck me I guess. Just didn't know lol

GTAV sold 200 million, but the total number of PS5s and Xbox Series S/X's sold is about 78.3 million. They're gonna have to release it on PC day one to even try to sell just as many copies of VI.

Yes, and no one gave a shit, back them people knew that they should just pirate in silence and stay in their lane so the companies, especially Nintendo, would leave them be as they were an objective minority back then, but then came the Social Media generation who REALLY needed to brag about how they could emulate Nintendo games for free and shout it to the whole world because they really wanted to give the middle finger to the multimillionaire corporations.

I hadn't thought of that. So that goes back to the original question, if on consoles only, it's gotta be neck and neck between MarioKart/Pokemon and GTA6, right?

They're gonna have to release it on PC day one to even try to sell just as many copies of VI.

which they won't. they're gonna triple dip with the pc release

mario and pokemon have lower budgets so those games will be far more profitable

And Pokemon is the real deal or do you think Nintendo's portable line would have survived as long as it did and convinced adoption of the hybrid approach of Switch/Switch 2 without Pokemon?

But PS5 can play GTA6

If the only selling point of your console is the ability to play one single multiplatform game which will eventually be ported to PC (and potentially even to Switch 2), and which to add won't be released until NEXT YEAR, you have already lost the argument.

It'll go down in price eventually, hopefully.
The Switch Oled launched at over $500 but in 2023 I got the Zelda model for $300.
The games also get a bit cheaper. TOTK is like $50.

The social media generation are the same faggots that got plenty of old ass ROM sites down. Social media needs to be outlawed completely to protect ROM sites and archives. Because everyone with a brain knows the corporations and the kikes who run them won't want that.

Do people not have credit cards or something? People acting like a price increase is breaking the bank is sounding more performative and actual reality.

Which job are you working where you get paid $7 and hour and why did you accept it?

I can't tell if you're being sarcastic or just stupid, because San Andreas is literally the top selling PS2 game. Don't get me wrong, I love the Gamecube and i mourn the loss of the Nintendo from that era. That experimental phase that lasted through the Wii era as well produced some of their most soulful and interesting games. But due to the success of the Switch i feel like Nintendo has become exceptionally lazy and their latest games feel so soulless.

The thing about GTA though is it's a system seller and if it's not out on PC day 1, you'll probably see a big uptick In PS5 and XSeX sales.

San Andreas aged like milk in comparison to the timeless GameCube games. You know what also sold a ton? Wii Sports.

yeah because the normies totally got priced out of the ps5.
makes no sense.

The only legitimate complaint is about the game prices, everything else is manufactured outrage. You even have retards believing that Nintendo will somehow know your phone number and call you if you try to hack your Switch 2, but you still need to state your name and address to let them know who you are.

i mean it is overpriced, they should have maxed out at 399 dollars. especially with no pack-in game. but nintendo knew they could get away with it.
the games are overpriced for sure though, yeah. it's last-gen tech, there's no way the nintendo seal of approval is worth more than AAA current gen developed games.

mario kart sales are more than the combined sales of the racing game market

Ouch.

One of reasons it's $450 dollars is because of the cartridge format it uses to speed up loading times. Remember, nintendo HATES losing money on each hardware unit sold for all of their platforms. They're probably just making maybe $10USD off the switch 2 at the absolute highest.

giving my old switch to my nephew for free at christmas

Wow, how generous of you to gift your obsolete e-waste to your own family.

So true, zister!

obsolete e-waste

Why are you bringing up the PS5?

Switch 2 vs Steam Deck 2 (based on Zen 5 RDNA 3.5, FSR based on FSR 4) will the difference really be that great or is the difference just FPS and resolution to a degree?

You guys said that last time. Play a new song already.

IMG_7413.jpg - 828x1324, 459.32K

I only got a switch because I wanted a portable console and it was the closest thing to being successor to both the 3ds/vita. I played it undocked exclusively but didn't care for much for nintendo's homeconsole library compared to what the GBA/DS got, and as you've said it being a "portable indie machine" was sheer bullshit because so many of those games are unoptimized as fuck to nearly being unplayable.

console with 15k+ games

e-waste

Dumbest consoomer of all time

Their fanboys literally excuse everything Nintendo does. They are the fucking reason $100 games are gonna become a norm. same for rockstar dick hoppers

It's so fucking funny reading the neogaf threads on the Wii and Switch reveals and seeing the parallels from twitter and redditfags about the Switch 2. Just a few more weeks until these type of threads stop popping up.

Sales will drop when everyone has their copy

Fucking retard

Because proletarians pay for the bourgeoisie’s mistakes as always.

He got robbed but he doesn't have morals when it matters the most. He should have called them out and not take their fat wads of cash to buy a new summer home.

Steam Deck 2 should be more akin to a PS5 but in handheld form, in every possible way it will be better than Switch 2, better ray tracing, better image reconstruction, lower price, higher quality display, I see no way that Switch 2 compares to Steam Deck.

I don't get one thing. When Switch 2 get available, you will only have two exclusive games to play with it. Donkey Kong and Mario Kart. Metroid prime 4 and Kirby will take a time to be released after the Switch 2 being available in stores.

People will be busy with botw buy it again edition

Nintendo are relying on third parties, which is one of the huge mistakes they made with the WiiU, but there's still Pokemon ZA, Hyrule Warriors and your Switch library.

PS5

900$ (800$ console + 100$ online) for 480p 35 fps and zero games

Xbox

850$ (730$ console + 120$ for online) for 360p 25 fps and zero games

Steam Deck

PC but with 50% performance for 90% price

Switch 2

470$ (450$ console + 20$ online) for 4k 60 fps for shitload of kino games

in 5 years the SW2 will be $500 or more so no point in waiting.

Going by Ninty exclusives sure

But there are also a few other release date games thay every nigger wants to ignore for some reason

Rune factory is a cross game gen, there's also Fast Fusion available on day one on top of that

Also, the SF6 and Yakuza ports are both a first for Switch ecosystem and have supposedly exclusive content that the other platforms lack

Won't even touch the fact that BC improves performance on other readily available ninty games or the fact that Hitman 3/Cyberpunk/Hogwart's Legacy get a nice new coat of paint on a portable

So, it'll be a Series S but stronger due to more RAM with the difference between it and the Switch 2 being similar to the difference between the Switch and Steam Deck?

Marvelous ran Rune Factory into the ground, that series is a write off
Street Fighter 6 is just another multiplat played better everywhere else at a huge discount, and it's a game keycard release, so is Yakuza, so those games are just write offs.
It's best to just ignore third parties as a whole, their Switch 2 output is pathetic, there's Fast Fusion and that's it, Things won't improve throughout the hardware's life.

Way better RT than the Series S and the Switch 2, with image reconstruction it will easily meet a PS5 if not surpass it.

Nice and just by having a GPU based on RDNA 3.5 with FSR based on FSR 4, they can even get the base model down to $500 at least.

They need to actually sell enough full price units to break even in the first place to justify a future price cut., not that they even would mind you because Nintendo doesn't seem to value consumer good will anymore.
Something like Mario Kart is probably breaking even immediately, but stuff with a more niche audience, probably not.

Their switch 2 output is pathetic

Nigga, the shit ain't even out

RF5 was a shitshow but 4R was solid so don't see why the series is a write off for a single bad entry, at least wait for Azuma to release before deeming it a shitshow

Key card releases are basically resellable digital games, don't see why they should be ignored as there are people that buy games exclusively in digital formats

Also, the Yakuza remaster has an exclusive multiplayer mode not available on other consoles, whether most buyers see the value there is not up to you or Anon Babble for that matter

Also, those multiplats aren't properly portable in the PS or Xbox, and the steam deck has plenty fo issues regarding running games as well

The thing ah6s a perfectly normal launch day lineup (further bolstered by BC and GC games) don't know why Anon Babble is so assblasted about this thing in particular

It's the same old shit, half assed third party ports and third parties will blame the customer when they fail to sell, give me something new or put your back into it don't half ass it and expect me to buy.

4 special was solid

They couldn't fuck that up because the original game already existed, but neverland is long gone the series is fucked because marvelous are a joke, even Story of Seasons is a shadow of it's former self.

this shit might be the only nintendo console I don't buy. what a fucking turd

I am still buying a Switch 2!

I agree that the launch lineup ain't nothing special, i just fail to see where the "HOLY SHIT THIS IS THE WORST SHIT EVER" Comes from when there's plenty of things for a variety of tastes

Gotta remember that not everyone is a dedicated enthusiast when it comes to games, there's plenty of stuff for someone going in and buying 2/3 games within the launch window and leaving satisified until other games drop

Story of seasons

I admit i've only played the last 2 remakes and I liked them, haven't touched their actual newer games, but in general i'm willing to give devs a fair shake when it comes to smaller releases like these

Also

Ports

They are gonna be the main thing for literally every dev not focused on AAA slop nowadays as those games will be the only ones to run reliably on this machine
The times for newer 3rd party exlusives is long gone unless they are contracted directly for thaat, and in that case, tjose are games Nintendo will save until they feel they need them to plug a hole in release schedule

They'll basically have a game per month for the foreseeable future, i don't see the issue there and if 3rd oarties faio to capitalize on that,it's their money left on the table while Ninty eats their lunch

Unless you're a teenager, why do you care about the federal minimum wage?
Maybe stay in school and polish up on your CV instead of complaining about video games.

Ports, Sony: :)

Ports, Nintendo: >:E
