From what I remember, based on one of the pages that has the numbers 1-5, chapter 3's weird route probably isn't as easily accessible as chapter 2's, and will probably require the fabled "chapter hopping" to get the shadow mantle (the playstation trophies probably hint at this with checking the throne).

I think ICE-E will become important in a later chapter. First off it's connected to a FUN event which means Gaster shenanigans. ICE-E's Pezza doesn't exist in Undertale, the word puzzle was brought in by the skelebros, further proof they originated from an alternate universe(possibly Deltarune). There's also Noelle's odd fixation on ICE-E, she has a statue of him in the Queen's Mansion room and she thinks he's a cryptid.
So there's Purple Guy right? He goes around wearing an ICE-E mascot head for some fucking reason. He doesn't even work at the pizzaria. What are the chances the "cryptid" Noelle saw was Purple Guy? Also what if Purple Guy was the strange looking man that spooked her in the ARG blogpost. I think Toby Fox is intentionally throwing us off by making us think all this ICE-E stuff is just a reference to mascot horror games and then it's gonna be revealed that Purple Guy is the Knight or something.

I like the idea that an average player can just play through the game normally thinking its just a normal game without knowing anything about snowgrave or alternate routes. Snowgrave could be acting out Kris's intrusive thoughts. It's thoughts that make them upset because he knows they'd never act on them but he has these thoughts that eat away at them, it gives us the reign to make him go through with it.

Chapter 1: Defeat enemies violently or spare them. Doesn't change much.
Chapter 2: Normal route (2 variations: violent or pacifist), Snowgrave route (aka Weird route) where you break a little the script of the game and aborted Snowgrave where you get an item from that route but don't commit fully to it.

Entry 17 from Gaster might have to do with The Roaring, and he as an individual might be stuck in the depths of Darkness, I feel one of the endings, namely the one where instead of the Angel, the Roaring happens, leading to Entry 17. The only really significant decision in Chapter 1 is whether you defeat Jevil violently or pacify him, which changes if you get the Jevilstail or Devilsknife.
If you avoid violence when possible in Chapter 1 by warning enemies about Susie, you'll get a "pacifist ending" where most of the NPCs will show up in the castle for a small playable epilogue sequence where you can talk to everyone. If you don't, you'll be run out of the castle and the ending will wrap up quickly. Whatever happened doesn't affect Chapter 2 though, you'll automatically recruit everyone from Chapter 1 no matter what.
Chapter 2 introduces the Recruit system where sparing enemies will let them join Castle Town at the end of the Chapter, which has some significant gameplay benefits depending on how many and which specific enemies you recruit. Defeating enemies violently will enable you to "get stronger" which raises everyone's stats (primarily HP) each time you defeat an enemy. This will make you better suited for FIGHTing, but Castle Town will hardly grow aside from Queen. Spamton, like Jevil, also rewards you with a different item depending on how you defeat him.
Chapter 2 also obviously adds "Snowgrave"/the Weird Route, which is an entirely different story path. This overlaps a lot with a "violence run" but isn't strictly the same, once you're locked in you can still recruit the minibosses you encounter in Queen's Mansion, for example.
There's also "Aborted Snowgrave" where you do a Weird Route run but back out at the last minute by not casting Snowgrave on Berdly, which is significant because it's currently the only way to keep the Thorn Ring, which an ingredient in item fusion to craft the Twisted Sword, which people think is some kind of ultimate weapon for Kris or might lead to some other alternate path. It probably doesn't matter in the long run though, Noelle will almost certainly rejoin the party in the future and you could just take the Ring off her then.

In-universe it's just not part of the DW system, simple as that.
Gameplay wise, Toby wants the new system with the sprites chasing you in the overworld to matter. If you fail to avoid an enemy that can be avoided, you shouldn't be able to just run away.

I wouldn't say Kris "trusts" Spamton, they're definitely cautious of him as soon as he starts talking about their SOUL at least. I think it's more like taking a risk on a shady deal that could pay off big time.
The way that they beat up the NEO body when they plug Spamton in and nothing happens at first seems to me like they're taking out their frustration on it when it seems like all the trouble they've gone through might have been for nothing.

The fact that Kris volunteers information about the Dark Worlds to Undyne, persistently doing this for two Chapters and is apparently sincerely trying to get her to take it seriously (potentially, with their actions at the end of Chapter 2, even trying to lure her to the site of a Dark World so she can see it herself) is all evidence that Kris can and will try to get help about a serious problem if they have the opportunity. The fact that they have not done this about the SOUL, even confiding in a trusted friend like Susie, raises questions.

This isn't true. You can Proceed through the first Annoying Mouse Room even on a normal playthrough, with exactly the same dialogue and choices you get on Snowgrave.

I do agree that our choices are Kris's own thoughts and words, which we can at least sometimes read and respond to in the same way we can read Noelle's mind and make Kris respond to her thoughts, but it's also very clear that Kris is not in control during Snowgrave.
Everything in Snowgrave might be drawn from Kris's worst thoughts and impulses, but they would never act on them willingly and we're violating them by bringing them to the surface and forcing them to act them out.

I think the player mostly has control over Kris but every command is put through a "Kris filter" before it's executed. If Kris's will is strong enough it can completely transform a command given (like when you're talking to Berdly)

This, there are also times when the choice is apparent yet not overruled (reading the anime review), a choice is put oddly (moss and sniffing markers), they make choices on their own (licking the book page, talking, emoting) and when the control fucks with choices (piano keys).

I was running out of characters so I didn't clarify, I think the default assumption should be that we are directing Kris's choices rather than making them for Kris. Many choices we can make have some characterization to them that probably reflect Kris's feelings ("Lie and say you want to hear more").
Options that seem to contradict each other can still both be reflective of Kris's own feelings. When Susie asks who they would take to the festival, she prompts them "Noelle or Ralsei?" Telling Susie that you would rather go with her is the most "honest" option, but Kris actually answering her question and choosing between the two options given shouldn't be considered "wrong" either, even if they're obviously unsure about it. Staying silent is the fourth option, and it also seems like something Kris might do.
All that said, there are a few times when the player is definitely volunteering information that Kris doesn't have. Asking Sans about his brother in Chapter 2 when you didn't learn him in Chapter 1 is probably the most clear cut example. You can know things that Kris doesn't know, like the steps you need to take to do the Weird Route, or what Noelle is thinking when you make Kris tell her "It's horrible/It's natural."

Kris is a Flowey-tier manipulator who has been planning everything he does for the sake of getting whatever he wants. Including the time loop shenanigans.

...Have you created something that got negative response, like a comic or something? In general, I think that it doesn't matter as long as it isn't distracting, or it doesn't consume the work. If Asgore was intended to be commentary on men and marriage or whatever it'd be one thing, but that isn't the focus of his character. He's as soft and tragic as he is because he's just a guy who wants a family, forced into the role of a JRPG final boss. I feel this way about all of his characters, none of the ideology you could potentially glean from them is distracting to me because they'd all feel incomplete without the aspects you believe to be derived from it. Why would Chara need to barter with Frisk? Your own interpretation of the Pacifist ending makes it clear that CHARA has control over the SAVE files and SOUL, not Frisk. Frisk is out living on the surface while, according to you, Flowey is begging Chara not to reset the timeline. If Chara has control over the timeline, she has control over the SOUL, not Frisk, and would therefore have no need to bargain with Frisk over it at the end of the Genocide route.

YOU control the SOUL. Flowey is talking to YOU at the end of pacifist. Chara/Frisk is not in control of it or the timelines at any point in the game.

This is at the end of the Pacifist run. Asriel isn't talking to Chara, he is talking Frisk. You play as a reincarnated Chara, but Frisk is a persona that Chara develops throughout the Pacifist route as her character grows under your guidance, which she only names at the end of the run when asked who she is by Asriel to separate herself from her past life. Frisk is not like a different person who shares the same soul as Chara or something. Frisk, as a separate person, simply doesn't exist.

I think a few movies have done that to small extent. Spiderverse 2 had one scene that changed, and theres a scene in megalopolis that was interactive in a few places.
