Elder Scroll Three Morrowind Rebuilt Tamriel Grasp Fortune

Now that the dust (get it because the new area is a desert) has settled, what did we think of it?

I was gonna download the Wabbajack list Path of the Incarnate to play this. Any reason not to? Use another list?

I've had it downloaded since the drop but I haven't gotten around to booting it up yet

they stopped updating it

But there was an update just before yesterday

oh my god whatever nerd

Are there any lore accurate overhauls or is this all we get?

do you even know what this thread is about

no shit dude it's right there in the message.

Are there Tamriel Rebuilt servers yet? Never played the mod but playing OpenMW on the mmorpg servers was great the last time I tried it

The fuck do you mean

It's out?

It's been out for 10 days now.

Has been since the daybor day

Played 50 hours since the update, haven't finished Hlaalu questline yet and barely touched other quests
Really enjoying it
Yes

How much can I ruin the lives of House Hlaalu?

I must say, i know that playing as an entirely magicless character is supposed to beheresy and all, but i'm actually really liking being a pure stealth khajiit using the ring of khajiit and other enchanted trinkets in place of real magic

You can join criminal syndicate and rob a casino but that's basically it

Lame, I want to be able to really fuck with Hlaalu as a member of another House.

I've never done Imperial Cult. Can I do some hippie free love Dibella stuff in TR or Cyrodiil?

There are maybe a couple of side quests that let you do this but otherwise you should wait for updates around the other factions
Imperial Cult in TR are pretty serious guys, they're more paladins than hippies
Priests faction in Cyrodiil are somewhat leaner but still priests

what does joining the tribunal temple cut me off from?

I do hope that PC eventually lets us be a tantric shaolin monk Dibellan who learns how to fuck and crush men's heads with our thighs (for combat purposes of course.)

If I'm using OpenMW is this the only mod I need or is there other stuff that should be fixed? I played Morrowind once around a decade ago but it's been long enough that I don't feel the need to change the gameplay really.

Is there any good imperial cult questlines in TR/PT?

i havent seen skyrim: home on the nords in years, has it spread beyond the reach yet?

Still waiting to see how they implement Almalexia

It hasn't received major updates in years because they were working on Cyrodiil
Markarth update should be next

is the single player version of this complete?

IIRC, the book about the different worships in Tamriel mentions that she has a dozen different cults in Cyrodiil with some just being about teaching sex skills
so if they're going to be lore accurate, there should be fuck-temples

Patch for Purists, Jammings off.

Yeah but the idea of Dibellan Temples also teaching martial arts from Kirkbride was more fun than just "This is a big brothel. They teach you sex. That's it, that's what they do."

what's that do? just patch glitches

first one is bugfixes, second one makes it easier to walk past people in tight spaces.

still haven't finished the games i've been playing/wanting to play

morrowind calling me back again for another inevitable 200 hour playthrough

is mod organizer necessary for just openmw, TR, and a few miscellaneous smaller mods?

No, especially since OMW already has some basic functionality to manage mod folders

MO is never necessary for any game. MO is used because of the virtualized file system / symlinks and because it makes downloading/organizing mods easier. Even for Skyrim I almost never used it, but I used it for Daggerfall Unity, because the way you manage mods there in the launcher is retarded. For OpenMW it's doubly not necessary because OpenMW already comes with this virtualization and sorting built in

Narsis released

Fighter's Guild questline just randomly ends with no fanfare

leader just tells you to do some work in Vvardenfel

epic

is there a mod for a balanced unique medium armor you play with?

Kirkbride was the one who wrote Varieties of Faith in the Empire so it's on him if he wanted kung fu listed in her cults.

Dibella (Goddess of Beauty): Popular god of the Nine Divines. In Cyrodiil, she has nearly a dozen different cults, some devoted to women, some to artists and aesthetics, and others to erotic instruction.

Not really (OpenMW launcher has many of its functions) but I use it because its both familiar and I can more easily switch between profiles

Yeah and he also wrote about Reman's mommy-wives being kungfu sluts, what point are you trying to make exactly?

Not gonna be hitting Narsis for a while. Made a Sea Elf Battlemage and haven't ever actually been to Anvil so doing that first

I've modded skyrim many times but never morrowind. Im finishing up an automatic install of the i heart vanilla directors cut(modding-openmw.com/lists/i-heart-vanilla-directors-cut/). How do I go about adding other mods if I want to? Will I have to setup MO2, will adding mods directly to Morrowind Data folders 'just work'?

what textures for base game would go well with the TR HD ones?

WHERE'S THE GODDAMN VIDEO?

fire eye.png - 600x1000, 1.32M

He had an idea later and so included it in a later work, have you never done any creative work before in your life?

You're trying too hard.

I have a VERY important question about the update:

Seen any elves? Hahaha

Mandatory vampire mods?
Are any of the new clans objectively better than the vanilla ones?

I have written erotica for a Monster High thread while drunk. Is that creative enough?

How high are the system requirements. I have a toaster laptop that can run vannila skyrim okay.

speaking of that, how's familiar faces? does it add new faces or just update the vanilla ones?

can run Skyrim

toaster

You're very overqualified.

I'll bump this. I only recently upgraded to a real PC and maybe the answer will help me make a decision.

I used the update as an excuse to go full bore into a modded mega playthrough, I'm still jumping between OE and Vvardenfell so I haven't made it down to Nasis yet. I want to wait until I have Stormrider to see if I can get it all the way down the river, I've gotten pretty far before.

Patch for "Purists" arbitrarily removes alternate ways to complete several quests.

Considering I'm playing it on a zenphone 4 in bed, pretty sure you can run it just fine bro.

Reading is for nerds

Around 150, built up over a few months. Focused around Joy of Painting, Ashfall, Stormrider, and other "immersive" roleplay mods.
I also use a mod that just rolls over any gained attribute bonuses from levelling so I don't have to sweat it.

that's not the quest I'm doing, I'm trying to get inside a room in Mundrethi Manor with literally no other entrance but the one a guard is watching, I've checked with collision off

Anyone know how to prove that the filthy ashlander vandalized the painting for the Imperial Cult quest in Hlerynhul?
Broke into his house and couldn't find anything, didn't see any dialog from anyone that would advance things either

Good to know. I'm new to pc gaming and in order to install mods for Morrowind I've just been unzipping them and plopping them into the data files and everything seems to be fine so far, like you said OpenMW already comes with a feature that lets you organize the load order and everything.

Sounds like you can read and follow directions, so you're already ahead of the curve of 99% of Morrowind players

is there any real performance difference between the low res and HD texture downloads?

Nerd game.

So what ever happened to skyblivion and the skywind?

What is the strongest enemy added in TR and where can I go fight them?

I was on the way to Narsis, but constantly get involved with exploring towns and doing quests to level up. Some of these locations are very comfy though, I've spent far too long fishing in the Almas Thirr docks after introducing myself to the mages guild here.

Docks.jpg - 1920x1080, 416.09K

yes

oh my god whatever nerd

You came onto a thread about a mod for a real RPG that doesn't cater to dumb fucks and you're surprised and upset nerds are here on a website originally intended for nerds in the first place. What the actual fuck are you doing here you retard?

Those random islands just added up north on the other side of the map

But why?

does it matter if I download from github or nexus mods besides being a little outdated?

They're slowly updating the Televani zone because it's not as good as current releases. Also newbies often get handed low-importance, self-contained areas like those islands to pick up skills.

small morrowind thread about an hour ago that gets archived almost instantly

some guy posts a random esp

open it in CS

Only change is that it changes Fargoth's ingame name to Faggoth

thanks Anon Babble

there's a spin-off mobile game that takes place in black marsh (travels:stormhold)

it literally doesn't have actual argonians in it, instead the game's plot is all about a mcguffin TF'ing people into half-lizard monstrosities

Weird. But anyway, i just wanted an excuse to share this concept art and the fact that i'm really looking forward to playing PT's Eye of Argonia mod in like 3 decades

Also newbies often get handed low-importance, self-contained areas like those islands to pick up skills.

As in tiny areas fucking miles away from the starting area that are hard to get to for a starting character? I don't buy this explanation.

I wish Bethesda continued doing games like Redguard to really explore alien locations like Blackmarsh or Elsweyr. I know it might be hard to do a mainline game set in these provinces because people like familiarity, but it'd be nice to get just a taste of how strange life in Blackmarsh really is. I always hated the Mayincaztec look of the ESO argonians it's so lazy.

What, exactly, does that have to do with starting characters? It's little external cells, and little internal cells, without any connection to the outside world, that won't interfere with any questlines. That lets them practice making areas without stepping on any toes. The fact that starting PLAYERS won't see them means nothing, it's about learning to be a MODDER.

does TR bring any cool looking functional medium armor?

what mods do I install to make the game fun?

There were literally supposed to be two spin-off Adventure games after Redguard that wouldve taken place in Black Marsh and Elsweyr, but were cancelled since Bethesda was in a tough spot before Morrowind. The PT Elsweyr and Black Marsh projects are both named after them (Paradise Sugar and Eye of Argonia).

In the interregnum between Skyrim and TES VI, Bethesda probably felt like ESO was more than enough to keep the franchise running in the meantime, which is why they didn't revive the idea and refuse Obsidian's offers of making New Vegas-esque spin-offs for TES.

And ESO was setting rape of the highest degree.

I feel like Black Marsh, Elsweyr, and Valenwood are locations that are more suited to more restrained games playing an actual native of the place so it's a little lamer to have them.
Black Marsh without the Hist, Elsweyr without the Sugar, and Valenwood without the Pact just feel like they'd be weaker experiences.

I thought people said it got better in recent years? I never played it because I don't like MMOs but some of the ESO books I've read haven't been so bad although they aren't on the level of Morrowind lore.

People who say that are dumb as shit, later years is shit like Ilithyia and Summerset Isles being an Oblivion clone. Literally the only things people like about ESO are Elsweyr and Clockwork City.

i feel your pain man, many games that i wanted to play came out in april and its just going to take time until i play TR again

It is a common riddle that goes like this:

“The water now welcomes it with glee and little resistance to mask a darker purpose, but would not dare feign hospitality to rougher hides. What is the music of the deep pool, sung in low tones of disgust, pulling down and sucking in, but having nothing to hold on to?”

Asak-Ei asked if I could guess the answer and when I replied in the negative, he explained, slightly amused, that it was "the sound of air bubbles when a smooth-skin dives".

lizardmen.jpg - 3797x2801, 1.61M

It's a mixed bag. It is true that they try to adapt the weird and interesting lore slightly more often than Bethesda does, but the execution is more or less universally underwhelming, and their aesthetic choices are also fucking garbage, mayincatec argonians for one as the other guy mentioned

I thought people said it got better in recent years?

You have to keep in mind the ones saying these things are the kind of people who play MMOs

100 Chameleon on Self for 5 seconds

Everyone sees me stealing shit regardless

Chameleon is not invisiblity and there's magnitudes for chameleon. It did confuse me as a kid too though until I read the spell

You're thinking of the morrowind patch project that is way too overzealous

Which ones?

How the hell does this 23 year old game still have such a big fandom

What did they do with elsweyr?

Trust me bro, the old Ebonheart Thieves guild is PEAK

play it

generic *steal x item* & fetch quests

Is it me? Am I the problem? Are these generic quests where nothing happens supposed to be a part of the charm? Do you autistic stim when you run south for 5 minutes straight to retrieve a gay book on astronomy in a copy pasted tomb and receive your hard earned 400 gold? Is my ideal of having content that's as interesting as the main quest of Morrowind just too high of a bar? I really feel like the material is there with all this lore to craft interesting stories, but I guess that's too risky or something?

file.png - 1000x667, 1.44M

What's the hype behind Tamriel Rebuilt? Is it something worth jumping back into Morrowind for?

Same as they did with the other races, they just gave them Thai architecture and called it Khajiiti. No worldbuilding, no imagination, just giving the beast races arbitrary things from brown people cultures around the world because it's "exotic".

the one in Firewatch

you have to imagine it in your head anon

Elsweyr should have homes that only the small khajiit can fit into

Elsweyr was one of their better takes, which is why it's one of the more acclaimed expansions, mostly because they had the balls of actually depicting some of the different Khajiit types. My main complaints against it is the fact that they wank the Khajiit a bit too much and the fact that they literally just gave them Indian/Southeast Asian architecture, which is lame

Did the Khajiits really have much known about their lands besides them putting sugar in literally everything making it really bad to eat the food if you're not a pussycat with natural resistance to the stuff?

Should I find mods that fixes all the exploits and OP shit for my 1st playthrough? or are they hard enough to figure out ill be okay if im not reading some wiki

I got Ahnassi's disposition up to 100 and she still didn't want to be my special friend

The khajiit had several in-game books and dev interviews focused on them before ESO, so yeah we knew plenty, actually. At no point is their architecture described in detail if that's what you mean, but it's not as if the Pocket Guide to the Empire had detailed descriptions of Dunmer architecture either, yet the the Morrowind team still made something pretty unique out of it.

is it ok to kill named npcs in the wild that attack you?
am I breaking any quest lines by doing so?

if you're playing on OpenMW, which you should because its a modern engine, then all the bugs and exploits of the engine were fixed anyway

Ill just do that thx

I meant in the Morrowind era for the PT devs to draw on.

Does resist magicka affect all types of magic?

top left, for me

think it's like daggerfall and only resists the magicka "element"

Ahnassi belongs to Mammalian men you damn lizard.

DaedricArmor.jpg - 1235x1920, 1.1M

I never screwed with the stealth spells before so I was going off of the Oblivion implementation of Chameleon where 100 would give you flawless unbreakable invisibility. Don't really understand how it works in Morrowind because it doesn't seem to effect my ability to sneak at all. Could also be that stealth "kicking in" takes longer than the length of the spell because whoever made the """stealth system""" in MW must have been huffing paint.

Easy to mod, a potato can play this

Graphics too bad for porn, so everyone had to make content instead

The lore is cool as shit, and there's loads of stuff we never officially saw like the actual Clockwork City, the Sload, Mananauts, House Dres but good modders can add these

The main games are getting dumber and easier to appeal to retards and people are hungry for RPGs that don't treat them like morons

The magic system allows for game breaking shit that makes you feel like an actual arch-mage

It's pretty obvious if you think about it.

Take Morrowind, expand the landmass by more than double, add a bunch of things mentioned in the lore but never seen before and put good content in there too.

Yeah, they have a fair bit, especially since they're not limiting themselves to just in-game stuff

The 3 Pocket Guides

Words of Clan Mother Ahnissi

Mixed-Unit Tactics

Heart of Anequina

Interview with Three Booksellers

in-game morrowind dialogue

Douglas Goodall's recent texts

things they can potentially pick and choose from oblivion

It's more material to work with than say, the Summerset Isles, which is probably the minor PT project that's the closest to getting to full-blown mod status

That guy is wrong, by the way
It fixes everything that the Code Patch fixes sure, but it doesn't patch or change the actual game files (esm) at all

NGI when i saw that at first I thought it was RS3 screenshot

Then stop playing with the code patch or the patch that fixes all the exploits, its not that hard bro

sadge
can someome at least tell me how easy it is to accidently become OP? I hate alchemy but I usually like enchating and I hear it can just trivialize the game.

everything

Didn't the code patch fix idle npcs sliding off their platforms?

RS3?

If I add mods like that mainland player housing mod or a survival mod to a playthrough I'm in the middle of, is it going to break compatability or anything?

Too bad the modders aren't competent enough to make the content engaging. Maybe these people unironically need idea guys and writers? I always thought that was a meme, but I guess not.

I didn't say in only fixed what the code patch fixed and nothing else. The sliding bug has nothing to do with the esm files or their bugs

here's some PT khajiit architecture concept art,i can't tell what the fuck real life cultuee is based on if any, which i guess is a good thing

I don't know what this has to do with anything I said.

That sounds like a you problem.

Oh plenty, there's a lot of new stuff too because Douglas Goodall got back into making new stuff recently. I will post some just for the hell of it. There's probably more too but we have a very decent idea of what Elsweyr was originally intended to be like.

Because it doesn't have to. All the spell, enchanting and alchemy breaking stuff, for example, is an engine bug that just gets fixed. The whole pathfinding and AI issues were fixed by the engine too, without having to affect the content files.

Oh holy shit, just wait until you learn about Doom.

Douglas Goodall

Who?

Yeah, I'm just not enlightened enough to enjoy fetch quests that are so low effort the Runescape devs wouldn't bother putting it in their games. My b.

Thanks. Nobody ever talks about it.

he says as there were hundreds of runescape quests about delivering items that get litterally picked up next to the npc

Morrowind-era writer at Bethesda who was really into the Khajiit in particular, left Bethesda shortly before the Morrowind expansions over disagreements with Todd, recently made some mods which included some cool new lore.

Got any content or QoL mod recommendations?
I'm using the obvious ones, like the code patch and MGE XE, but I'm curious what mods are recommended these days because I bet things have changed a lot in the last ten years since I played.
Obviously I have Tamriel rebuilt too.

I can't ever take you niggas seriously talm bout how trash witcher combat is while you all goon your little peenors to THIS shit

People always keep talking about breaking shit with alchemy, how does that actually work bros

Runescape 3

There's more gamebreaking bugs in the game than just exploits. For example, that one NPC whose corpse can give you a game-bricking version of corprus disease

That's not remotely true at all, but it's obvious you're not here to post in good faith and are here to shit the thread up.

They made a second and third Runescape?

was really into the Khajiit

disagreements with Todd

Fighting over custody of Pretty Kitty?

Let's hear your ideas.

Is that a bug? Seems intentional to me, no matter how dickish that is.

Resist Magicka decreases the damage or other negative effects done by most spell effects.

These include Absorb Health, Damage Health, Drain Health, Absorb Fatigue, Damage Fatigue, Drain Fatigue, Absorb Attribute, Damage Attribute, Drain Attribute, Absorb Skill, Damage Skill, Drain Skill, Blind, Burden, Sound, Silence, Calm, Charm, Command, Demoralize, Frenzy, and any Weakness to Element effects. It protects from the effects of disease as well, as all diseases apply only these resisted effects.

This does not resist Fire Damage, Frost Damage, Shock Damage, or Poison. It does not protect against Paralyze.

Certain magical items have negative effects which can be resisted, but Resist Magicka will not nullify the positive effects.

It's absolutely a bug because it's an accidental copy of the main story's corprus disease and she's the only NPC who can do it

Paralyze spell

Uses up half the fucking mana bar

Does getting better at a certain magic school reduce the cost for spells? Some some unfeasible without a ton of potions.

there are more people hatefucking each other in this thread than there are players in the top multiplayer server

grim

he doesn't actually like Morrowind and thought the art, combat, animations, and AI were all bad

lmao?

more people have played this 20 year old game than will play this 20 year old game

shocker

I legitimately think TR quests are quite good.
Not all of them, but most are. Even fetch quests have enough context and personality to not be boring.
I dont think you played it.
I am playing, but not multi

beginner tier: miss a rat, uninstall cause you don't get the mechanics, abuse magic and potions to reach god mode

beat the game once tier: RP your class, custom classes, reading dialogue

hey this is pretty cool tier: read uesp regularly, install a mod manager, learn what TR and community of modding, roleplay as a argonian

I can't stop playing this godamn game tier: mod everything you don't like, immersion and survival mods, slow leveling, reading and writing notes in game, making your own mods to fix lore inconsistencies

It's the GOAT but also a fucking curse how addictive this game is

strollin.png - 1483x861, 2.26M

Obviously he likes Morrowind, 23 years later the guy still writes lore for it. He criticizes it out of love.

Ohmes.jpg - 1240x1422, 127.61K

Do I have literally go to site my sources like I'm writing a persuasive essay or some shit? Fine.
Fetch quests I have encountered in my experience of TR:

Don't Touch My Gems!

Restocking

Four Types of Liquor

High-Flying Plans

Thieving Rivalry

A Watery Fate (Fetch me a way out of this hecking sewer!)

Mason quest

Low effort quests:

Guars and Guards

Facing Eviction (you get to choose whether this is a fetch or an instant resolve with money. WOW, so much player agency!1)

Where has the Horse Gone

It's just embarrassing.

Bal Foyen's fighter guild being top tier meant Narsis has to be meh tier. At least the Mage's Guild was cool.

What paralyze spell? Paralyze is an effect governed by Personality, but factors like duration, range, etc affect the cast cost as well.

is 280 strength enough

When I really lost all respect for these guys was when I realized MK was the youngest during development and he was THIRTY. This isn't 19-20 year old Carmack and Romero squabbling, these are 30-40 year old drama nerds who could not get along or get their shit together. It's amazing Morrowind turned out at all, much less good.

I dont think you played it.

Of course he didn't. Everything he's said is proof of it, he's too busy playing the jaded zoomer to fact check his own posts. That or it's the gay Romanian again.

TR adds the Clockwork City?

nope. magic is very powerful so it necessitates some degree of gatekeeping in a normal playthrough. ideally you would be picking up many useful enchanted items to fill in the gaps of your characters' weaknesses. you have to learn to make due with less.
each mages guild gives you a ton of magicka potions, which ought to be enough to keep you topped up until you can efficiently deal with most annoyances if youre being responsible with your resources. being a mage in rpgs was always supposed to be an investment in that character, rather than something immediately gratifying.

There's a reason Morrowind is so bizarre. Also, Kirkbride was a hardcore alcoholic at the time.

I was talking about modding in general. Sotha Sil Expanded adds the Clockwork City.

tamriel is just a bunch of pot holes with monsters in them

No, and the mod he's talking about is fanfic tier with a terrible aesthetic. They straight up copy pasted some fallout Brotherhood of Steel slop and called it The Clockwork City.

Sotha Sil Expanded adds it, it's about the size of Narsis.

What's embarrassing is you barely being able to play for an hour once every 3 or 4 days and your incessant need to whine about it in between. Are you legitmately autistic? I'm gonna start calling you MagesGuildsperg.

lashing out at strangers because you cant into the FoTM mod and youre having a FOMO melty

Lol, lmao

They straight up copy pasted some fallout Brotherhood of Steel slop

What does this even mean

How in the fuck are those islands randomly part of it?

Sneaky ass poison mod auto-enables the alchemy exploit fix, the god damn rats.
Cost me like 3k gold before I realized something was wrong. I AM going to paralyze that rat for 13 real life years and you CAN'T stop me.

Schizo post, mostly.

I'm gonna start calling you MagesGuildsperg.

glee.jpg - 265x231, 23.86K

kek

Some of the stuff he's admitted about that period of his life were horrendously embarrassing, I understand now why he was so bitter about his "drug coffin" cult of personality for years

haha hey MK remember when you were like the biggest piece of shit and almost ruined your career haha dude your such a legend lmao CHIM!

Tell Grok to prompt "Brotherhood of steel bunker but make sure there aren't any guns" and you'll get what they were going for.

A small handful of quests, and most of those are basic bitch early quests designed to get you to go out and explore

Oh wow you sure showed all of us!
But seriously, why not go play something else instead of being a whiny little bitch? You're not convincing anyone already enjoying it to stop.

what texture mod for vanilla matches up with Tamriel data HD textures?

I like Kirkbride's stuff, I was a fan of c0da and I loved his contributions to the lore, but the guy has an ego that's out of this world. While I can enjoy reading his work as literature/poetry, all of his stuff is tainted by that eastern tendency to make philosophy intentionally complicated and clusterfucked so that idiots think he's a genius.

Okay so you're just saying dumb shit.

made MK throw a hissy fit

Source muthsera?

IIRC trainwiz and the TR team measured it and Narsis wins slightly if you incorporate the tombs. Narsis is a fucking sprawl.

I'm not sure you've played SSE or Fallout honestly.

This one anon is very upset about the mod existing and likes posting gibberish and buzzwords in an attempt to discredit it.
There's criticism to be had for certain, but the mad anon doesn't appear to have played it from the weird shit he likes to spout.

At this point the only issue I have with it is having no way back to Tamriel without beating it, but I think trainwiz said he wanted to add that.

isn't that accurate to the original quest?

now he lives entirely off the goodwill of the people reminding him of being a shithead

The original quest is a medium sized dungeon. The mod is twice the length of the entire expansion.

finally get to city after 8 hours

Level 10, big carry capacity problems

Here anon, your first quest, just travel to this camp west of Narsis

The camp is the same distance away as ebonheart, where I came from, just west.

What? I just wanted cool city quests, why are you sending me awayyy.

Installed this yesterday, just the base game plus Tamriel/Cyrodiil/Bruma.
Any mods to make the combat a bit more fun? Feels a bit braindead to just click until the other person falls down.

rpgcodex.net/forums/threads/why-morrowind-sucked-the-douglas-goodall-interview.10408/
There used to be more evidence but it looks like it's been wiped, I could swear I saw a screencap of MK saying this shit.

"Here are the new terms, AS: remove the interview *in its entirety*. All of it. Gone.

Or remove anything submitted by me that hasn't been published by Bethsoft. It's actually quite a lot. Go check. It's mine, it's copyrighted to me, and it's only allowed on your site through my permission.

It doesn't stop there. It won't stop there. I will pursue my own roads to have the rest of your copyrighted material removed, as well.

It's frankly very easy to comply. It's frankly very hard for you to continue with me as an enemy."

Personally:

Some of the quests are a bit too obscure

The Fabricant Dunmer feel a bit too fanficky

Getting to the city itself is a slog on repeated playthroughs (now partically fixed)

The OST ranges from good to very goofy, and Almalexia's boss theme is ripped from Nier Automata

Neckbeard Sotha Sil/Gestalt (Now fixed in the recent update)

Rewinds are tanky as fuck in the catacombs

The writing for Sotha Sil/Gestalt's dialogue isn't very good

I fucking love the mod, but there, actual criticisms unlike schizo anon's ranting about Fallout and whatnot.

as a militant skeptic its my duty to strike back against misinformation

Four Types of Liquor

another excellent fetch quests!

Do Morrowtards really? Would you guys consider the Borderlands games masterpieces too? kek.

Rewinds are tanky as fuck in the catacombs

The trick to that is that you damage their speed, if it gets to zero they die.

I'm just here to shitpost and act important doing it

Uhuh, cool.

Whine more, Tamriel Rebuilt is fucking awesome but it's not immune to criticism.

You create potions of fortify intelligence and drink them before creating more potions. The effect starts to increase exponentially. Intelligence affects the Alchemy skill so once you have a gorillion intelligence, your healing potions will heal you a 5000 hp a second for 3 million seconds.

What happened is that the OE Mages Guild realized (quite recently) that the city of Old Ebonheart is on a "thin" piece of Mundus, on account of much of it getting "scraped off" when Khalaan was dragged into Oblivion. They don't know much about what happened, because the Dunmer didn't keep good records about it.

What the fuck is going on here

The only one whining here is you.

The Fabricant Dunmer feel a bit too fanfick

That clicked for me with the one guy who points out that they're crazy and one note because they're all going insane from having existed too long. It's a recurring theme in the mod that every single threat isn't Almalexia but just Sotha Sil creating something dangerous and forgetting about it.

True, but that anon is clearly not here to post in good faith and I suspect he's just that Romanian shitposter trying to stir the pot as usual.

I just expected better, sorry for thinking the TR team would know how to make kick ass engaging content after learning from the best moments of Morrowind like the main quest and Tribunal DLC (inb4 seething about this because the hivemind has a weird bone to pick with this DLC). And to absolutely learn from the mistakes of low effort fetch quests rather than making it the baseline of their content.

b-but it's just beginner quests

Keep coping retards.

Calling them all fetch quests oversimplifies. There is something bothering me and it's the feeling a lot of these quests just feel too minor, inconsequential to a degree. It's like they only really work if you're RPing your character doing many tiny menial tasks building from the bottom up like you're just another nobody outlander in Morrowind. I've had the most fun with the funnier things like breaking in the nord's house and he busts you while naked.

It's simple to complete quest for low level characters that makes you explore the city a bit, an excellent fetch quest
Old Ebonhearth in TR is built on the ruins of Khalaan, a city that was plunged into Oblivion after the signing of the armistice and is a hidden dungeon in TR that only has a few ways to enter

It's funny that trainwiz is the original Sotha Simp and even he thinks he should be dead and stay dead.

Yeah, he's dedicated to shitting on anything Morrowind. There naturally will be anons who don't like it legitimately, but this guy insists on shitting up any thread about the game he can while making ridiculous comments and trying to derail threads with huge arguments.
He also patrols other sites waiting for people to talk about the game so he can attempt to shit those threads up too. The man is insane and a reminder of the worst and most mentally ill people this place can attract.

Other anons have been making me think, what SHOULD Elsweyr feel like? Skyrim has a prehistoric feel, Morrowind feels like the Dark Crystal meets Star Wars meets Mad Max, Oblivion is like LOTR, Daggerfall feels like fantasy Medieval Europe, what would be a good fit for Elsweyr? I can't think of anything without explicitly ripping off of pre-existing human cultures which is boring and lazy.

I never understood people like this. I mean, I find Halo to be an affront to the FPS genre, but I'd never dedicate my life to shouting down people who like it.

It should feel like what India thinks they are.

The bell puzzle to enter Khalaan was fucking cool.

Sotha Simp

Ayem is for the "step on me, Mommy" types
Vekh is for the "wowsers! he's so deep!" types
What exactly does Seht offer to simp over? He's just an autist who had a Dr Manhattan moment and locked himself in a hole

ignore , the last thing you should have in your mind when designing the beast race provinces is a single particular real life human culture to emulate. instead, just think "what WOULD a society of neurotic drug-addicted cats look like?", you should look at cat behavior, not human behavior

I think you answered your own question anon. Sotha Sil is for people who just want to be left the fuck alone to pursue whatever autistic interest they have.

lol Gears!

You're forgetting the internet used to be a much simpler place

He's like a Dwemer but with godhood so he just sits around making cool robots and a clockwork world all day.
The man behaves like the average (non-dedicated shitposter) Anon Babbleirgin would if they got god powers. I find it weirdly relatable.

Exactly what I was thinking, life in Elsweyr should bring to mind Naked Lunch. I have a problem imagining what sort of animals would live there, for some reason I keep thinking a cat version of Serina would be interesting but something about that feels "off" to me, idk

He's got the big female fanbase thanks to ESO making him a sad tall dad

Yeah, i thought about that as well, the khajiit themselves are the easier part of Elsweyr to write about i would argue, i think basically nothing is said about what kind of wildlife they have in Elsweyr. You could either try your hand and making up some wacky fantasy creatures loosely based on a few specific concepts like Morrowind's bugs and reptiles. I always thought maybe plestocene fauna or whatever could be a good pick, but not the kind you see in every "ice age" type media like Skyrim, i'm talking giant sloths and terror birds and such

He's for the guys that think they'll start the industrial revolution if they end up in Tamriel.

I'd like to see that, but at the same time it bothers me immensely that khajiit and argonians have this sort of template adhered to their species that all of them must follow. Every khajiit is a drug addit kitty who's naturally driven to steal. every argonian is a part of a massive hivemind root god. I'd wish there was more individuality upon each of them

so is Narsis out now? Where do I go to get there, I got a fresh lvl 5 I wanted to start there for my first TR run

serina mentioned?
eric. simply eric.

Tamriel is stagnant as fuck. Their world 1000 years prior looks identical to Skyrim. Elder Scrolls needs a FF6 situation where magic disappears so people can move on.

The sun and stars are literally portholes of magic

Okay not all magic, just usable magic

Go to Old Ebonheart and either get the mages guild to teleport you down there, or prepare for a long walk south. The walk is the better option, more opportunity for kino adventures.

guess him being a fat, pregnant, ugly, Basterd, wouldn't have gotten the same base

Does Sotha Sil predate modern steampunk?

its the southern area right?

file.png - 461x597, 209.17K

Where do I have to go to start the Telvanni stuff in TR bros, I want to experience their content

No modern Steampunk originates in the 70s and 80s in books like the Infernal Devices or Adventures of Luthar Arkwright.

What's a good Morrowind build that can use Mysticism (only for mark & recall), Enchanting, doesn't use shields and is melee focused?

I think he specifically said "modern" to refer to the cultural explosion in the 2010's, well-read-anon

Elsweyr the Deserts of Anequina Oblivion mod never forget

Isn't Sotha Sil Expanded horribly bloated?

Narsis MG has a nuclear reactor in the basement

huh

idk I would still say "modern" Steampunk is all the people attempting to do H.G. Wells and Jules Verne Pastiches. but even ignoireing the litirery origins of Steampunk you still had shit like Steam Boy or Thief: the Metal Age doing weird Steam Punk shit well before it just became Put a Top Hat and stick some Gear on it the Genre

You are correct.

Almalexia when?

2030s probably 2034-2035 since it's one of the last things they will do.

this tbqh

A week after Skywind releases

mercy combat ai overhaul, maybe.

have to get halfway through the mage's guild ranks before they'll just let you teleport directly there

so annoying

What rank exactly? I'm currently a Warlock is that high enough?

There's no essential tags in Morrowind. You can wipe them off the face of Nirn to your heart's content.

Yeah, warlock is more than enough

It's huge, but I wouldn't call it bloated since it only changes Sotha Sil.

Damn, nobody cares about the Telanni huh

So for alchemy, do you really need all fucking 4 pieces or only some of the tools are enough? What do even most of them do

Aside from Tamriel Rebuilt, which quest/land mods would you recommend?

Mortar and Pestle is the only required tool for making potions, the rest just help you make better potions.

North East

Whispers of Order or whatever it's called.

That's the problem with most fantasy worlds. They remain the same forever because magic is powerful but also gives no opportunity for advancement, since once it's all understood mages just do the same thing over and over forever.
Would it actually work like that in real life? I suspect it would, we need technology in place of magic but tech always needs to be improved and can be improved. Magic that is as good as it'll always be though? Yeah, that'd fuck advancement hard.

it's because TR's Telvanni content is kinda subpar since it's super old, people don't really go there much, you'll probably need to wait a few years till they overhaul it to bring it more in line with the newer areas in quality, feel free to explore It though, there's a couple interesting sights at least from what i recall

It runs on my private server with friends. Easy to install. Seeing all that land to explore with friends is fantastic.

TR Telvanni content is... uh, in need of work. It was made first, back when the game was only a few years old. Areas feel moddy and empty, and the towns are simply okay.

There's the sister projects which add the other provinces with two of them having a release. They both add a fair bit but are also only a small part of the province. The cyrodiil mod is higher quality then the Skyrim one currently but that might change when the Skyrim mod gets updated again.

It'd be nice if he adds some new spell effects with MWSE.

Tamriel's technological development has gone backwards since Morrowind
The lost the ability to create spears or crossbows

Thats good to hear, I guess I'll try to rope in a friend since there's no pubbie server

With the current timeline/productivity I've seen it might be over a decade till it gets reworked that is if it's the last thing they do.

The lost the ability to create spears or crossbows

I hadn't played MW in a while and just booted it up. it really confused the fuck out of me if spears were always in the game or if a mod added them lmao

lol cry about it

Apparently Bethesda literally wants it that everyone rose up and Dune machine crusaded their tech

The temple or the cult, bros

Both. The Imperial Cult has no issues with the worship of the Tribunal so long as the 9 Divines are also venerated.

The Temple gets blown the fuck out by the end of the main quest, because their gods are false.

modding bethesda games even on windows is absolute ass

Are you stupid

It's the easiest thing in the world what are you talking about.

They have crossbows in mainline games as of Skyrim's Dawnguard DLC

see

Whats the best way to even get into TR?

Just go to old ebonheart and start guild quests or is there a better path?

I started using mo2 and it literally juat works
everything else is cancer

can I put unzipped modfiles into a folder in the data files folder to keep it neat or will it not read the content properly?

That's the path to cure your insomnia.

You would have to change the texture and mesh paths of every single thing you change the directory of
Just use Mod Organizer and save yourself the headache

Make the Puzzle Mansion an actual part of the questline.

Fucking morons. Stumbling onto that quest unexpectedly when I was just passing through was amazing and one of the best moments I've had with TR.

I thought it was part of it? They mention it a bunch.

The quest where ghosts are pestering their descendant for being a sc*lie

They are not even violent, they just keep booing him and are OK with talking to you as a guest of their family

You can even go ahead and just kill the argonian for them if you want, or utter the single funniest and retarded line in the history of Morrowind to convince them

OK, I was not expecting to laugh doing a completely random quest I just stumbled upon

Considering that Almalexia and Vivec fucked anything with a pulse, that tracks

Was Sotha the only one of the Tribunal who wasn't regularly having sex of some kind?

To be fair, does she care all that much about familial pride?
I feel like she only cares about her own personal pride

He (apparently) has a oneitis

He was sticking his dick in the bores of greased-up gears.

That armor is incredible. Say what you might about the cats, but their tastes on bling are impeccable.

he's robosexual
he's just like me fr fr

Could you telefrag someone with a mark and recall spell?

this come with any new blunt weapons?

He dp'd Almalexia and had a wife at one point

so what mods should I have for this aside from openmw and the required tamriel data?

it's kinda silly but it works

The fact that they reccomend the diverse khajiit mod is kind of ironic, considering several NPCs in these mods still say that there are Suthay-Raht (i know Suthay-Raht are still the overwhelming majority even with the mod, but y'know)

Do Ohmes purr?

thanks. still thinking if I should use MET or something else. I only have a rx 6600, so it could be rough.

Does installing one of the landmass mods mid-game screw anything up? I forgot to install SHOTN and I'm already balls deep in the Fighters/Mages Guild questlines.

lmao
Where is it?

join thieves guild

mad they ask you to steal things

Speaking of stealing things, one of the things I liked about the Oblivion Thief's Guild is that you had to sell stolen goods in order to advance in the ranks.

from what I've been told and looked up, it should be fine. only taking away mods or installing conflicting mods should create issues.

is there something that redoes enemy health bars, like puts one over their head?

Is the new content in that list?

If it is go for it, shit is cash. Wabbajack lists are the best because well…you click to install

Use a wabbajack mod list for openMW don’t be a retard

Why are the khajiit in Narsis reskinned humans? They speak like khajiit, are slaves, and have dialogue like them, but they are just orange wood elves. I don't have any pics on hand.
Is something wrong with my files or do other people see them too?

The TR devs could never think of something like that. Now go steal a diamond ring for the 10000th time, but on da mainland!

what the fuck is wabbajack mod list

They're ohmes and ohmes raht khajiit, who look like that in the lore

Somewhere a bit south of Sailen

is the mod for slowing down levelling better for the landmass mods?

I'm a big fan of regular khajiit but... Is this what khajiit haters feel?
By azura, dagoth was right.

anyone got something like this but for TR?

Furry.

You'll just create dogshit character this way

what are some other great mods to get besides the project tamriel ones?
I'm gonna play a cleric and join the temple so so far the only other mods i've gotten are just ambient temple ones to make it more atmospheric

regular khajiit

Ohmes are the original Khajiit.

Morrowind has a lot of good mods but you're better off installing them when you actually want to play them

emba-5

Ive been trying to mod morrowind since the 4th
I found out openmw is incompatible with the base games save format
spent an entire day setting up openmw and then remaking my build
found out that the sailing mod works with openmw
but not the fishing mod
waste two days trying to get the fishing mod deps to install in wine after moving to MWSE
everything works in wine/proton but the mw graphics extender
cave and install win10 in qemu
works but mw is too slow
cave and install support for qemu kvm gpu passthrough with virt manager front end
hardware too potato to run mw fast even without mods
pull out win11 laptop
reinstall MWSE and its four deps
get to the fishing mod and its five deps
they all install
but none of the fishing mod deps are detected
delete everything
install mo2
reinstall all the mods
and TR rebuilt
and MET or whatever its called
and stormrider
14 mods 21 plugins
justwerkz
uhoh
stormrider has two hidden deps one of which was removed by the author
download them anyway
21mods 31 plugins
on install
PRINCE OF SOLSTHEIM TOMB HAS SUPPORT FOR ABOT BOATS
I am a sucker for boats
install abot boats
crashes up the ass
missing files up the ass
does not just work
google for an hour
beg chatgpt
uninstall abot
still crashes
reinstall le heckin epib snow prince mod
deselect precious abot boats
goodbye fren
game works
looks like shit
my katana now clips my hand
runs the same
turn on shaders
looks worse

I've been fucking scammed. I finally have stormrider and fishing and TR. And I don't even want to play the fucking game anymore.
Twenty-one fucking mods. 31 goddamn plugins. Six days of troubleshooting in linux/vms/windows. And for what? I hate the game I only just started to like.

should have asked an LLM for help

I feel your pain—six days of modding hell across Linux, VMs, and Windows, only to end up with a game that feels like a betrayal. Morrowind modding is a notorious rabbit hole, and you’ve been through the wringer. Let’s break this down and see if we can salvage your sanity or at least figure out what went wrong and why it feels so bad.
First off, your journey highlights the brutal reality of modding an ancient game like Morrowind. The game’s engine is finicky, mod compatibility is a minefield, and tools like OpenMW and MWSE don’t always play nice together. OpenMW’s save format incompatibility is a known issue—it uses a different system that doesn’t sync with vanilla Morrowind’s saves, which explains why you had to restart your build. The fishing mod’s incompatibility with OpenMW but not the sailing mod is likely due to OpenMW’s incomplete Lua scripting support for MWSE-based mods. MWSE (Morrowind Script Extender) extends the game’s scripting capabilities, but OpenMW only partially supports it, and mods like the fishing one often rely on MWSE-specific functions that break in OpenMW.
Your pivot to Wine/Proton to run MWSE mods makes sense, but the Morrowind Graphics Extender (MGE) failing is a common headache. MGE XE, which you likely meant, is a Windows-centric tool that doesn’t always cooperate with Wine due to its DirectX dependencies. Switching to QEMU with Windows 10 was a valiant effort, but your hardware struggling with GPU passthrough is no surprise—Morrowind with mods, especially graphical ones, can be deceptively demanding on low-end systems. Even with a Windows 11 laptop, the dependency hell with the fishing mod and Stormrider’s hidden dependencies (one of which was yanked by the author) points to poor mod documentation and the chaos of community-driven projects.
(1/3)

The shitty thing is I just booted the mostly vanilla OpenMW install on my gentoo box that has TR and it honest to god looks so much better.
Ill just play that.
morrowind isnt ready for boat and fishing autism. But if I really want that the windows laptop is right there.

Man, which cities have actually working and functional Mages Guilds? Every single one I've came across is either stupidly incompetent or full of retards who have no jobs

Let’s break this down

begone with ye foul Aye-eye

The Abot Boats fiasco crashing your game, even after uninstalling, suggests a deeper issue—possibly a corrupted install or lingering files from incomplete uninstalls. Mod Organizer 2 (MO2) was a smart move for managing mods, as it keeps your base game clean by using virtual directories, but adding 21 mods and 31 plugins, including Tamriel Rebuilt (TR), MET (likely Morrowind Enhanced Textures), and the Snow Prince tomb mod, creates a complex web of potential conflicts. Mods like Abot Boats and Stormrider often have undocumented dependencies or require specific load orders, and TR can be a beast to integrate without patches. The katana clipping and shaders making things look worse could be due to mismatched texture mods, broken animations, or MGE XE’s shader settings not being tuned for your setup.
You’re not wrong to feel scammed. The promise of a modded Morrowind—epic boats, fishing, and a revamped Solstheim—sounds amazing, but the reality is hours of troubleshooting for a game that now feels like a chore. Here’s why it stings so much:
Sunk cost fallacy: You’ve poured six days into this, so it feels like you have to play to justify the effort, but the game’s not delivering the fun you expected.

Expectation vs. reality: Mods promise a polished experience, but Morrowind’s janky engine and mod incompatibilities often lead to a worse experience than vanilla.

Burnout: Troubleshooting across platforms and wrestling with cryptic errors is mentally exhausting, especially when the payoff is a game that “just works” but looks and feels off.

If you want to keep going, here’s a streamlined approach to get a stable, enjoyable Morrowind without losing your mind:
Stick with MO2 and Windows 11: It’s your most reliable setup. Avoid OpenMW for now since MWSE mods like fishing are your priority.

Core mods only: Reinstall Morrowind fresh, then add just Tamriel Rebuilt, Stormrider, and the fishing mod. Skip Abot Boats and the Snow Prince mod for now—they’re too unstable. Use the Nexus Mods pages to double-check dependencies and read user comments for patches or workarounds.

Load order: Use LOOT (Load Order Optimization Tool) to sort your plugins. Manually check for conflicts with Wrye Mash or mlox if LOOT misses something.

Graphics: Install MGE XE properly (follow its Nexus guide to the letter). Use lightweight texture mods like Morrowind Enhanced Textures instead of heavy overhauls. Disable shaders if they look bad, or tweak them in MGE XE’s settings.

Test incrementally: After each mod, launch the game and test. This catches issues early.

Backup: Save your MO2 profile after every successful mod addition so you can roll back easily.

If you’re done with Morrowind—and I don’t blame you—consider stepping away for a bit. Maybe try a lighter modding experience with something like Skyrim or Fallout: New Vegas, which have more modern engines and better modding tools. Or play vanilla Morrowind on OpenMW for a stable, no-fuss experience to rediscover why you liked the game in the first place.
If you want specific help—like debugging a crash log, checking a mod’s compatibility, or finding a Stormrider dependency mirror—share more details (e.g., your mod list, load order, or specific error messages), and I can dig deeper. I can also search for updated mod versions or community fixes if you point me to the exact mods (e.g., the fishing mod’s name or Nexus link). For now, take a break—you’ve earned it after this odyssey. Want to vent more or focus on a specific fix?

does this come with its own map?

man I'm not reading your chatgpt barf

steal Vivec's penis from the temple

Recall to the barrister in Old Ebonheart

he takes away my bounty for basically nothing

keep Muatra

dude I got the things working
abots just doesnt work
it just isnt worth the effort because with less mods OpenMW looks better
it just doesnt have fishing

It mentions they might not work with leveling mods.
Have you tried this with MULE? I like the idea, but I don't know if I want to ditch my MULE for it.

muthsaara please do the needful and play mwse

bitch
it didnt detect the deps for the fishing mod

Have you considered that you might be retarded?

Guess it got milk taken.

It worked okay with MULE because I use that one too

He took your past life, you took his dick
It's poetic

I appreciate how he's calmed down over the years, I guess he got most of the piss and vinegar out of his system.

Cool.

Is there a morrowind mod that keeps the RNG hit aspects but also gives reason to use more than just type of melee attack?
I find there isn't really a reason to not use charge attacks for most weapons other than daggers.

ew

There's no reason outside of the rare occurrence where the game wants you to beat someone up but not kill them

what level is recommended for this?

don't bother looking at An Issue of Thrust because I assume it's an airship quest mod or some shit and only ever see it mentioned off hand

finally look at it

its rapiers and thrusting swords

*when you sleep and they're in your inventory

Out of curiosity, are the mod lists from the Modding OpenMW site worth it?
If so which one should I go for? I do want to try the update out and I know the guy updated his modlists recently but I wanted to know if it's even worth downloading any of those lists to begin with.

They didn't even try with Almalexia.
She doesn't deserve it either.

Come on now anon is that any way to talk about Mother Alma?

Can't judge a book by its cover, you know

They're not too bad, from my brief look-overs

I used this last patch and it was a good balance of vanilla friendly content with new stuff just disable the combat changes and depth of field.

modding-openmw.com/lists/expanded-vanilla/

I installed one with 45 mods and it runs well. Textures and patches but it's still the same game. TR is really impressive. Im still trying to figure out how to dive into it. I was reading the site and they made an endgame prologue for the main quest. So I might do that since my save works with the modlist.

He fucked Almalexia apparently.
It's kinda crazy how Almalexia never once comes to the conclusion that maybe she should just fuck the Nerevarine too. I guess she just hated her husband that much.

Appreciate it people.
Last time I modded Morrowind a few months ago with my new AMD GPU the game would randomly crash the Adrenalin driver so I had to give up on the game. But now with this update I really want to try it out. Hopefully it'll not happen again.
Modded myself btw, only now I discovered the guy made an auto installer. Good shit. [spoiler/]

I have been spoiled by wabbajack I can't go back to modding shit myself at least all the basic stuff I'm just trying some vanilla plus list I found there.

I'm sorry, but Avellone would've sucked major ass on TES.

So about spellcrafting, what should you even use it for? It kinda feels expensive

Has anyone done the Legion questline in Narsis yet?
Trying to get dirt on the card dealer but this bitch just keeps telling me "Not yet."
Can't figure out how to trigger whatever it is she's waiting for

file.png - 1749x994, 2.28M

just install a modlist like i heart vanilla directors cut

Go to the bathroom.

Did I fucked up by maining marksmanship?
I can't fucking hit anything. Of every 100 arrows I fire I only hit like 30.

epic meme

What race/class?

Kemel-Ze is a cool place over there, I remember reading the in-game book on it and getting upset after finding out it wasn't actually accessible in the game years before their first release.

I had an easier time running Metro Exodus 4k/60fps with ray tracing, than I did running this game, think about that logically.

Evos south of Sailen

The Firewatch one isn’t too bad, considering its location

be known member of the Thieves guild

book a show in the Council Club

save it for the final gig of the night after I hit all the others

Jump up on a table and belt out "Stendarr's Mercy"

They tip more than anyone else did that night

I guess they respected the hustle lol

>Some of the quests are a bit too obscure

Got a list of them at all? I'm aiming to go back over sidequests and try and eliminate "find the shit" quests as I've grown sick of those for the most part.

So openMW users have to use some older fishing mod?

I feel like dunmer is the only racial choice if I want to be a temple member

What about that crystal guy people occasionally ritual post about? Is he not Telvanni content?

not just an older one, its entirely inferior

He's Bel Betu and he's more recent, he's an independent guy

Third Thieves Guild quest

"Steal the things from the guy"

Two people, staring at the things, in a cramped room where the only LOS is a single pillar

Unlock the chest, both see you

Pickpocket the key, either fail instantaneously because lol TES pickpocket or the other guy sees you

Taunt the man into fighting you then beat him unconscious and take the key out of his pocket, other guy sees you steal it lol reported fggt

Use chameleon then try either of the two non-combative approaches, good chance you still fail to steal the items without incurring a bounty because you need to pass 4 stealth checks to pickpocket, actually steal the item, open the chest, then take the items

This is expected to be done when the player is hovering around 30-35 Sneak which is nearly impossible to level in the first place

Yeah, I'm mad. This blows ass, no wonder everyone just abusing the shit out of Command.

Sneak basically doesn't work in Morrowind, get the mod for it.

Just pay the bounty off at the Guild when you get back, you don't need to ghost missions.

Use Telekenisis.

This and Star Citizen will be my time dumps when they're finally finished

Star Citizen is never getting finished, and will never be good.

1. You can literally just return any Dwemer goblet, bowl, and tube, that you can find in any Dwemer ruin in the game, because there's no way for Sugar-Lips to know that they're not the specific ones from Ra'Zhid.

2. You can absolutely use the pillar to block LOS. If you Chameleon into the room, they won't look at you, and then you just go into the corner, and hit it. If you're desperate to get them out of the chest, you can literally just F5 savescum it.

3. Get on the trap door, then jump up on the nearby wicker basket. The hanging basket above it will block vision to you. Works almost 100% of the time.

4. You can just beat the shit out of the people in the house. The Thieves' Guild doesn't know or care.

Gonna play through morrowind for the first time- planning to go in with no mods, but is there anything that’s worth it for a blind experience?

If you're gonna play bone-stock vanilla, I would run with OpenMW. You get the benefit of relatively modern hardware usage, instead of the old and very buggy game engine. There's nothing you NEED, it's a complete game in itself, but there's obviously a lot of mods that can do visual upgrades for textures, making the character models a bit better, etc. Depends on your tolerance for old game graphics.

Otherwise, just know that Morrowind has no points of interest, no magic compass to objectives, no quest markers, and the closest thing to a modern "quest journal" it has is an actual journal where one of the expansions lets you filter entries by the quest or task they're associated with and that's it. So learn to love reading the journal, because when it tells you to go some place, you literally have to go find that place on your own. It will not lead you there.

Otherwise, the only tip that matters is that your Fatigue bar should be as close to full at all times as possible. Low fatigue means every attack, every spell, every block, etc. will fail and you will die.

I'd argue there's a lot of value to be gained by installing proper atlasing and getting fog distance and distant terrain/statics properly configured (within OpenMW). Past that it's just if you feel the need to rebalance something that's rather shit and would otherwise go unused like speechcraft and self-done enchants.

4. You can just beat the shit out of the people in the house

This is what I ended up doing. Drained the dipshit cat's fatigue, punched him in his stupid dipshit face, took his key and stupid dwemer bullshit, then walked out.
I don't care, Thieves Guild not Sneaks Guild. I'm learning.

Glad you're catching on. Don't forget to use the carrot too

pop a bug musk

Savor Trendel gives me the key to Nerano manor for 10 measly drakes

Are there any houses you can buy in TR without being part of one of the guilds?

TR doesn't have any houses at all as far as I know

Anyone got the latest cyrodiil and skyrim mod map?

It'll have fortresses but like vanilla i think they feel housing is best handled by separate mods. I hear Room for a Thief is good.

How the fuck do I make money when merchants either have no fucking money or do have money but have gamestop rates for buying crap

I hear Room for a Thief is good.

Do ya now

I want to play a Hlaalu thief guy in honor of the new release, what are some good mods for a schneaky dude. I remember the stealth in vanilla being a bit underwhelming.

Holy shit I gotta get off my ass

I'm not sure what you mean by that.

I need to quit fiddling with my mods and start roaming around these big ass maps I haven't explored 1/100th of.

nah that shit was fuckin great

Most of the areas are not in the publicly released area, you would have to get the development branch versions. And then they wouldn't have much content anyways.

enter a old fort in the Narsis area

theres a fucking Akaviri at the bottom askign about the 2nd empire and if they won the war with the dumner.

Interesting things are FINALLY happening. This is All I want out of the content. I guess the key is to stay the fuck away from fagperial cities? Nah, this is probably just a 1/1000 quest and I'll be back to mindlessly fetching bullshit in no time I'm sure.

i wonder how easy it would be to turn Morrowind into an actual dungeon crawler. i'd like to see smaller scope stuff like that.

NTA but you got anything for OpenMW?

Don't forget power scaling. I hate when enemies scale with me, removes any feeling of getting stronger in post-morrowind TES. I love how in morrowind I start as a fucking beggar that gets raped by anything bigger than a rat but in late game I can nuke demigods with my custom crafted 'nigger' spell while high off of my ass on 300000 stat enhancing potions

try to just install TR through MO

tons of missing object errors at launch

What did you tell him? Did he have anything else to say?

Did you remember to install tamriel data too?

what's that, again?

<spoiler>firewatch canals</spoiler>

yeah, in fact its my highest priority in load order.

more images like this please, love maps that are clearly raised right.

Why is south of Firewatch full of enemies as deadly as Red Mountain?

Really? What errors are you getting? They should be in your warnings.txt in your overwrite mod/folder

Retard

Never beaten Morrowind before. Should I get Tamriel Rebuilt as my first run?

No it's standard going magicless in morrowind, oblivion tertiaries only think otherwise

it really depends entirely on what you mean by "magicless"

potions are just another way to access the magic system

It has a north african vibe.

Lmfao

>Graphics too bad for porn, so everyone had to make content instead

Stupid zoomer couldn't be more wrong LOL. This shit was peak gfx on release and there is massive amounts of porn mods I have personally spent my youth enjoying. "Content" is a joke too

Just play vanilla openMW on your first run

Yiff in hell nigga

Hot and way better

and there is massive amounts of porn mods I have personally spent my youth enjoying

Before 2006, though? I remember a nude mod existing but that's about it.

shit taste
