Demo is one of those youtubers who expressed himself primarily through remixing and editing existing media clips, which is a horrific copyright minefield and almost no youtuber on the platform has had a successful and lengthy career doing that. It's similar to the problems that plagued hip hop artists in the past who relied on sampling to express themselves.
There's a reason shit like video essays, let's plays and commentary channels perform so well on the platform, because you rarely have to worry about copyright issues when you just record yourself talking over gameplay footage. And it's only going to get harder to express yourself through media editing & remixing as copyright law becomes more stringent and the platform moderation becomes more dismissive and automated.
