Hearing Morrowindfags talking about Morrowind, you would think you need a degree in nuclear physics to be able to play it

morrowind is overrated

food analogy

Every single time.

yes. people hype it up like it's ocarina of time tier. It's a great game but come on

Based and trvthpilled

It’s far better than console kiddie gookslop like oot tho.

why are there so many tendie shills lately

ocarina of time tier

The mid tier?
Morrowind btfos that dogshit

Any retard can play it, but you'll have to be reasonably intelligent in order to enjoy it.

Where does Saddam Hussein fit into all of this?

That's nice, anon, but it doesn't change the fact that combat in morrowind is utter dogwater

keep telling yourself that retard. its just way more cumbersome than it needs to be. Its from an era when genres were still figuring out what made good game play. There are plenty of great things about morrowind, but it doesnt change the fact its an absolute slog to play compared to later games in the series.

slog

nice buzzword faggot, shitrim with its faggot ass unskippable animations and shit menus is 1000x more sluggish
good thing there's more to it than that

morrowind is bethesda's only good game
learn to not have expectations out of a company's one time thing to be applicable to the other products

they've been done, stop paying them in attention

i-ifunny!

s-she spelled one word wrong and since im a ESL latinx i cant make out what it says!

r-reddit spacing! (which has never existed)

it's so funny watching oblivioniggers, shitrimfags, and startroons use these non-arguments when they know tes iii mogs every other fucking game released in the last 22 years

how the fuck is it a buzzword? you're not as intelligent as you think you are. morrowind leaned too heavily into ttrpg mechanics but then tried to make it a realtime action game. It made it, for lack of better words: cumbersome, tedious, irritating...

If they wanted the gameplay, particularly combat, to be like it was, it would have been better as a crpg. As it stands morrowind is a slog to play. cry more about it faggot.

video games peaked here

I want to go back, before all you faghota arived.

I love morrowind but it's still an incredibly simple rpg

but you'll have to be reasonably intelligent in order to enjoy it.

Unironically read a fucking book.

This is a sad existence. Both of you are hereby ordered to go outside or go to sleep depending on what time it is in your region.

i like morrowind and oblivion

Best I can offer is jerk off to made in Abyss art.

Not really. Every morrowind thread has at least one "Why can't I hit anything?" "Consider having some fatigue" conversation. Morrowind is an extremely easy game.
It just happens to also be good and require you to be capable of reading.

The dumb downification of Bethesda Games Softwarks visual interactive titles that started with the Microsoft Xbox 360

Started with Morrowind

No one has ever articulated a single flaw of Morrowind. It's 100% brownoid zoomers butthurt the missed the golden age and had to grow up with the sloppy seconds and cut corners everywhere

There is, yes, but combat is what you will be doing most often

I believe removing roll-to-hit is what created the damage sponge bloat broken level scaling in Oblivion, and the removal of classes and attributes in Skyrim was an attempt to address this. The lack of feedback in combat was one of the biggest turn-offs for new players in Morrowind, and Bethesda knew they would be on the 360 as their main stage for the next game. It makes sense that they'd do anything they can to avoid the "slow CRPG" stereotype and create a new hook that would draw in a new audience of action gamers. But leveling up in Elder Scrolls isn't linear like in other RPGs, so once your DPS skills plateau you hit a wall where the enemies out-scale you as you begin leveling your utility skills. This isn't as much of a problem in roll-to-hit since damage values stay in mostly fixed ranges with the chance to hit being the main aspect effected by skill increases. Tougher enemies may take the same number of hits but require more skill to be hit consistently. Skyrim's solution to this was to remove character builds so all skills grow at the same pace and all characters have the same stat totals at each level. This makes it easier for the devs to design the game around an "intended" playstyle with everything else being a bonus to augment it. This is why the "sneaky archer" meme exists. Skyrim silently railroads all players to the easiest and most efficient playstyles. Unique builds do not exist as there is no reason to specialize a character and no advantage to be gained from trying to do so. And I believe this all started by removing roll-to-hit.

retard looking at an average video game enjoyer

YOU FUCKING THINK UR A ROCKIT SINETIST OR SUM GENIOUS

Why are retards like this

Morrowindfags are the Prequelfags of vidya.

Yes, it's just a decent game, even for it's not time. But it's leaps and bounds beyond Oblivion and Skyrim.

Reads the same as Skyrim complaints went it came out. TES6 will be no different.

They should all be on the right. Gothic 1 & 2 should be on the left. All of Bethesda games have too much empty space between the good parts.

lmao this guy's computer was too bad for morrowind and he's fucking seething over it

And oblivion and skyrim are the sequels.

-started with Daggerfall, removing such spells as ambitious spells as Passwall in favor of slopskills like "maybe this enemy doesn't attack you on sight every time"

unironically thinking a procgen slop game is better than handcrafted kino

Skyrim is the most overrated

Millennials first rpg

NOOOO EVERYTHING MUST BE REPTITIVE AND PREDICTABLE

NOOOO EVERYTHING MUST BE REPTITIVE AND PREDICTABLE

but enough about procgen

Yup, people went crazy because of the open world in 3d and lore drops huge enough to keep you busy without internet

Daggerfall had:

horses (this is the biggest lost in my opinion, as traveling created the most downtime in Morrowind)

carts for portable excess inventory

fast travel menu

you can turn into a werewolf

procedurally generated towns and dungeons with random spawning NPCs

randomized quests

class advantages and disadvantages (worked similar to the star signs but a bit more customizable, changed your skill gain rate by having them)

climbing skill

a bunch of useless language skills which only function to occasionally make specific enemies types non-hostile

two speechcraft-analog skills, Streetwise and Etiquette. Can also pacify specific enemies like the language skills, but also are used to roll if an NPC will answer your questions or not. Still mostly useless as continuing to ask NPCs will yield an answer at any skill level, and training one over the other doesn't matter since both work all the same

buying houses and ships (only used for item storage)

banks (not necessary since gold doesn't have weight)

naked women

Morrowind adds:

handcrafted persistent world

properly written quests with storylines

fully interactable and persistent NPCs

alchemy skill (previously only could be done after unlocking a special guild service and only for a few pre-made recipes with no output scaling)

ability to buy potions in shops (shops in Daggerfall only sold ingredients, which were useless if you weren't in the right guild to use them)

enchantment skill (enchanting items in Daggerfall works through a guild service like making potions does)

repairable magic items (Daggerfall used durability for magic items instead of having charges, and they could not be repaired. Non-magic items could be repaired but only weapons would lose durability)

repair skill

NPC disposition and persuasive actions (speech skills in Daggerfall are just for getting directions around town. all quest related dialog happens in pop-up notifications outside of the dialog system)

Morrowind proved the GameCube and PS2 were obsolete.

Actually it's a penis metaphor.

You list all that and you forget the level scaled spell damage?

Yes, but also I ran out of characters

for me, skyrim was too dumb to enjoy
