MH Wilds.jpg - 600x600, 140.23K

I know we like to bitch about how every AAA game sucks ass through a straw these days, but Wilds truly was fucking shocklingly bad, like really bad by modern Capcom and AAA standards even, like this felt like Dead Rising 4 were it was designed by somebody who either didn't get the franchise or straight up didn't like it

Unironically the worst MonHun game ever

excellent post

anyone notice Capcom release are like a flash in the pan, and post launch engagement is dies faster than ever? Same with Dragon Dogma 2. what is this?

Rise and Sunbreak being praised on Anon Babble
What a time to be alive

They are single player games and people burn through them what do you expect people will just keep playing forever? I beat DD2 and am waiting for expansion, I got to HR300 in MH wilds and waiting for more stuff to kill.

I legit laughed at the cat parts lmao

Palamute is just slightly faster than Wirebug shortcuts

Noooo you have to ride the Seikret just to drop down to Zoh Shia's arena

I want to smack Ryozo's head with a hammer

Unicorn Overlord. a far smaller game and had no updates had great engagement for a long time.

Not sure what you mean desu Unicorn overlord threads also disappeared as people finished it.

Entirety of LR is this tedious dogshit

Start HR for real (the point where you're expected to grind for it)

basically living in Scarlet Forest because all the other maps suck ass

stalking around and find a flock of Kutkus

Spot a Gold Crown among them

Mark it with my paintball

Hunt it

Then it all just clicks

Was that so fucking hard, Capcom?
"Hunting is more fun when it feels like my decision" is NOT a new concept.

Scarlet Forest is basically the best map in the series, in a game full of dogshit maps

pfp.jpg - 720x720, 63.49K

It really do be like that.

what is this?

They are working hard on the expansion.

What are the current sales numbers of Milds?
Will it even get close to World?

They better fix it with master rank because what they did to base game was terrible.

"Hunting is more fun when it feels like my decision" is NOT a new concept.

Same thing applies to Pokemon, especially Gen 7.
It feels so bad to play because you have zero agency. Everything is on rails.

rice comes out

morloid piss and shit themselves because its not world

milds comes out

morloids piss and shit themselves because its not world

not rocket science

why the fuck are they still doing limited monster events? that's so fucking dumb

The issue with removing the separation of Village and Hub for the sake of multiplayer is that the single player story becomes mandatory. In previous games (besides World) you could straight up ignore it if you wanted.

They rerun them every single holiday event anyways.
Stop falling for any non-existent fomo

nigga I got to wait months to do apex rey dau
how the fuck do you boot licking retards find that to not be retarded?
it's such stupid game design
crapcom deserves to rot and I will pirate their expansion DLC in the future

They announced 8 million then 10 million in February. Radio silence since then. I doubt it's selling much now, word of mouth is pretty bad.

Just remove any walk-and-talk segment and let co-op players watch and skip the cutscene at the same time.
The team obviously can handle it, even World had skippable co-op cutscenes for event and siege quests

I don't know what wilds is like, because capcom made it clear with rise that they now make monster hunter games I don't like.

If you ignored village you were an active detriment to other players, you COULD do it I guess but you're not supposed to

Even if they didn't want you to skip those segments, they had a multiplayer solution in the form of Link Parties. All they needed was to make an extra ready-up window pop up after confirming you want to continue the story with an NPC, and then everyone in the Link Party would join the story segment. You know, instead of everyone doing it alone and having to scramble to join up once the monster appears. They simultaneously made it mandatory and unskippable, and incredibly difficult to do in multiplayer. The worst of both worlds.

I doubt it'll get close to World. My normalfag coworkers bought World on their PS4s. Wilds was just the nerds talking about it.
Capcom is still making hand-over-fist with Wilds, especially with the higher price point and the skeleton-crew-tier update schedule

RiseBreak was pretty fun all things considered.
I was surprised to find it as my 3rd most played MonHun after GU and Frontier, but I guess it's pretty easy to pickup do a few quests then hop out.

delete this

Apex Rey is still up, you just have until this tuesday

How long till Wilds drops below World?

Yeah that too. The Link Party system is mindboggling

Doesn't look bad for Wilds.
They need to do some heavy lifting for G-Rank though

174246748.png - 728x364, 129.75K

I give it until the end of the year

One of the problems is not even game related per se.
Wilds is just so hardware dependent that poorfags with old PCs are just SOL

high rank

lights: on!

welcome to the Kut Ku zone, nigger!

Powering through the daily crashes is starting to make me really dislike the game on top of it just being inferior to every other one I've played, why the hell does it crash and have dozens of different things that can cause it to crash anyway, DD2 didn't have this many problems

God you are such a bitch nugget.

It uses 21 GB of VRAM. Haven't had any crashes since switching out my RX 9070 for my RTX 3090.

>meow, i nearly shat my fur, LOL!

It uses 21 GB of VRAM

But I only have 8

30 fps

No gameplay changes from World

All monsters are shit

PS3 graphics

Added Lovecraftian shit to a family friendly franchise

Retarded interface

Unskippable walking segments

Shit music

No Elder Dragons on release

Less monsters than MH2 and 4 on release

Proof Of A Hero is literally just a copy of the original but worse

Hammer deals no damage

LS is overpowered

No challenge

No MH language

Is this the worst game of all time?

Guess I'll have to go and check the usage while waiting for a crash to see if somehow its using more than it says it is

Yeah, it's been pretty awful. I'm not even sure what the point of the game is? I guess it's a good party game? It seems like focus mode and the design of the game goes against what you're actually meant to be doing, which is mastering boss fights. I didn't get DD2 and I deeply regret my friend wasting money on this to play it with him..

Have they fixed performance?

meow, i nearly shat my fur

Why did this make me vaguely horny

poorfags with old PCs are just SOL

bro the vast majority of people are shit out of luck, cant even run this piece of shit game with cards from like 3-4 years ago

21 GB of VRAM

That explains so much. I have 16Gb, Why the fuck would they make it that demanding and lie about the recommended specs?

1000000279.gif - 500x501, 979.44K

pick up Risebreak after playing Milds

monsters already feel more aggressive in LR than Milds' HR

get constantly rag dolled because of bad habits

sharpness goes down quicker and generally doing less damage

Carting twice to the mud weasel was not something I expected.

Might have a vram leak or something, I dunno I'm not technically literate enough.

Almudron is a bitch and a half, good fight.

I "liked" Wilds but I already dropped it and have no desire to pick it up, I haven't even done AT Rei, there's something fundamentally flawled about this game but I can't pin point what is.

Not even sure how they managed to make it run so bad. XX/GU to World was graphically a huge leap but World to Wilds is barely an observable improvement. Some models have more details but you either barely see it or all the post processing, crappy textures, upscaling or whatever totally negate them. Crapcoms inhouse anti modding DRM that doesn't work and denuvo are the cherry on top of this mess.

Shitty engine that's not made for large Open World maps

maps are fuckhuge so the seikret is mandatory

sections were only they can traverse

they also just auto-run over to the monster

Mechanics that overtune the hunters like focus mode, wounds and Seikret as well as the general lack of aggressiveness from the monsters. Almost all of them are punching bags that can barely land a hard hit. There's also very little incentive to hunt because the roster is so small, the equipment requires very little amount of materials and most weapons are completely trivialized because of Artian garbage. There's just a bunch of problems with this game and looking at the first TU, I don't have any hope until the grank expansion.

Also, don't bother with AT Rey. His armor isn't very good and the fight itself is underwhelming.

you can disable the auto run by using down on the dpad to mount instead of up

the game doesn't even tell you this

tons of people complaining about the seikret wrestling them won't even know this exists

coon.jpg - 626x625, 111.92K

Iceshard Cliffs and Ruins of Wyveria are the worst maps Capcom has ever created and now the G-Rank expansion is ruined because any new monster has to be made specifically so they work in those shitty hallway maps

Been replaying world again after putting 100 hours into rise+sunbreak recently. Most monsters move so sluggishly in comparison it's not even funny. Tobi-Kadachi surprised me though, when his RNG is just right he spams his lightning fast attacks in a row.

AT Rey is reasonably hard to A rank in the challenge quest and Zoh Shiah was reasonably challenging as well, I guess Wilds discourse is just eternally mired by some assblasted retards who can't run the game?

I know this is meant to be humorously creative, but Wilds’ story is the same shit as World with how simplistic yet obnoxiously derivative it is.

Hey hunter, let’s go investigate some disturbance with X monster.

Wait, something’s wrong. The X’s have NEVER acted this way before.

Oh no, it’s a Y! Those aren’t supposed to be doing this!

Good job hunting Y, hunter. Now let’s investigate why Y was here.

OH NO, IT’S A Z! THESE AREN’T NATIVE TO BLAH BLAH BLAH

Playing through Iceborne and getting to the point where some bastard left a runic version of an audio log stating basically the EXACT same shit made me want to delete the game. Hoe many fucking times are they going to pull from the “monsters are attacking because something is disturbing the ecosystem” plot? Why can’t monster hunter be about a competition of who can slay the biggest asshole?

I’ve beat the main quests, got Master Rank gear, crafted all the weapons I want to, hunted every monster and their tempered form. Now what?

IMG_2087.jpg - 720x715, 86.15K

The thing is, the story being bad or derivative wouldn't be an issue if it was just some throwaway textboxes like in the past games. But the game INSISTS you HAVE to listen to the story and be walked through it slowly. That's what pisses me off. If you put so many resources and so much focus into trying to present the story, how come no one thought about making a good story in the first place?
4U was exactly the right level of exposition and story telling. Just make some narrative that makes me build a rivalry to the monster instead of throwing it away, throw some special encounters in here and there and boom. That's all you need. Anything less than that makes me care less about the monster, but is fine for gameplay. Anything more than that is just obnoxious

Play the other games

Worked fine for the other RE Engine MH.

I just love how the infamous Rathian escort quest in World was so universally hated that Capcom MUST have known, and yet still went ahead and put 10 hours of escort quests in Wilds, making them even worse by Seikret controls and not allowing you to move 10 metres away from the forced path. Unbelievably dumb design decision, but you can say that about 90% of Wilds honestly.

AT Rey is reasonably hard to A rank in the challenge quest

Have you SEEN the amount of people that got A rank over on Leddit? 13 min is extremely generous.

Zoh Shia is definitely not a challenge in the slightest. His only problematic move is the downwards fire breath. T.Gore is still the only semblance of a challenge in this game.

because they drastically reduced clutter, physics, and overall fidelity to get it to run on Switch

AT Rey is reasonably hard to A rank in the challenge quest

No it's not lmao

I got that faggot down on my first try and my time was 16 minutes with 2 carts plus my shitty unupgraded gear and half assed build.
AT Dau is a fucking joke, I'd get A on the challenge quest but I can't be bothered playing this dogshit game anymore especially when I am on my first playthrough in GU and having so much fun I haven't had with vidya for fucking years.
Still I am fucking mad that in the neares future our only options as MH fans are

the aboslute garbage fire that is Wilds

shitty chink mobile slop

next portable MH that's 1000% going to aim for the same audiences of gay twitter retards that World/Wilds were going for especially now that Switch 2 can pull off PS4 levels of graphics

It's fucking over.

So in other words, they figured out how to make it actually work on RE Engine.

Gore is trapped into that shit Ice area

Motherfuckers.

if you bought milds you're the cancer killing monster hunter

There's LITERALLY no other game like monster Hunter on the industry, the closest thing is GE and that's as shit (and old) as you can get.

If there were viable alternatives I would say Fuck MH, but there are not.

Why was TU1 such a massive wet fart?

I really don't get why they kept Gore as the ice area's 'apex'
Dude can walk around Ancestral Steppe just fine. Put him in Plains and Forest

Hmm yes of course, because if Wilds did have an explosive fomo-flash in the pan launch week or two, Capcom would change their nepotistic tendency and drop hacks like Tokuda, surely.

I'm pretty sure I got an investigation where it spawns in Ruins.

shitting on wilds/world

BASED

praising Rise

Cringe

All nu-MH is shit.

TU1 was them finishing the game, but the game is still bad even when "finished"

Doesn’t this dogshit have like 15k players lmao the fuck happened

yes, literally. if they're told to fuck off with the pozzed dumbed down garbage they'll do it.
But now we're in the era of niggercattle, its all fucked

I got C rank and died twice on my first try but it's totes easy bro

lol

you have successfully convinced me to never buy another monster hunter game again.

Not defending that retard, but C rank is over 20 minutes.

Based

Just make the story more freeform so it can allow players to do coop and also have more freedom instead of a fucking cutscene shitfest.

Same with Dragon Dogma 2.

No loli no buy

i played wilds and dos (since it has been translated) side by side and the difference is jarring. the psp 2nd gen games feel like a casualization of that (and more fun to play)
just didn't have the will to keep playing wilds after 80 hours so i am back to dos and gu
the generation differences really contrast between dos, gu and wilds

DD2 is a bad unoptimized game
Wilds is also a bad unoptimized game

Third time's the charm!

but which franchise will they decide to kill with the third attempt?

Way to completely miss the point of my post.
For you illiterate retards I'll repeat - I got AT monster down underequipped on my first try with almost A rank time and that's with 2 fucking carts adding up to my time.

it's totes easy bro

Yeah, retard-kun. For AT monster it's fucking joke.
But go on, keep consuming this idiotic slop, you deserve all the shit Crapcom throws your way. Gobble it up.

they gut and rushed Dragons Dogma 2 for this incomplete mess, causing the guy that directs their every second successful IP to bail

what an utter fuck up

Either Onimusha or Kamiya's baby

Okami

oh fuck I totally forgot they are making a new one. The artstyle will prevent them from going overboard with the graphics so even with open world it should run fine right? probably not.

forgot that they were working on that
what a good track record for a studio. viewtiful joe games, okami and god hand. three cult legends
which means the sequel will be garbage

I initially would have defended the game and said that OP is mostly just exaggerating and the fundamental mechanics are still good aside from the game just being too easy, which could have been fixed relatively easy. However, the update has really shown that the developer's priorities are out of alignment with what I expect in a monster hunter game. I still have not been able to solo a tempered Mizu because I haven't had the random luck of being able to find one. This and other limitations on when you can fight things is clearly designed as an attempt to boost player count. The only reason to use desperate tactics to boost player count is if they don't think the game is good enough to hold player attention, which is correct since I'm not going to keep playing just for a chance to fight the monster I wanted to. I'll just wait for the next update to see if it holds my attention long enough to have a chance to finish the content from the first update.

When did you realize this game might not be as good as you hoped?

The very first trailer, but then most of my complaints were about how it looked.
Then the next trailer showed off focus mode and the 'story'. I knew MH was dead then

The more NPCs the worse RE Engine handles "open-world" jank. If it was just Okami with larger scale maybe it'd be fine...

Gold Crowns.

I love how part of the joke is the first “high rank” monster is the silly bird nigga you bullied first twenty years ago.
That’s SOVL to me

The rest of the game looks like trash, but that joke is great for OGfags

and not allowing you to move 10 metres away from the forced path

I love this.
Especially in open world games.
It's genius game design

What should I play? Dauntless?

when it ran as complete shit then claimed it was "playable"

That’s the story of literally every monster hunter.
The monsters are being weird.
Oh it’s because of the box art monster
NO WAIT THE BOX ART MONSTER IS BEING WEIRD BECAUSE OF THIS ELDER DRAGON
Oh the elder dragon was being weird because of the a tier threat.

And then in G rank it’s because of the final fights monster.

Or sometimes, a monkey looks at a guy
And you need to punish the monkey.

“Every other”
You mean rise? Because that’s the only other title to use it.
World was a heavily modified MT framework with speedtree photogrammetry.

Oh shit

When I tried the beta and the gameplay was abysmal.

If we don’t get dalamadur and gogmazios in Cataclysm, I’m going to be heartbroken

How did you completely misread such a short post?

The problem is it COULD have been good.
But it was made for some kind of "audience" that is not the main audience paying this game.

I had a stroke three months ago, it’s made me really fucking retarded.
I thought you asked how I’d forerun a spelling post.

Then the next trailer showed off focus mode

That's exactly the moment I knew it was over

Wild Hearts isn't that old

In TU1, they added Gore to spawn in Wyveria, plus he seems to spawn in Wounded Hollow pretty often now as well

Dauntless

He doesn't know

I'm not gonna be coy with you, cryptobros bought the studio, shot dauntless in the head, harvested all the organs then filled the carcas with feces.

based if true

Hot.

When’s someone going to make an MH-like where the individual pieces you carve let you choose specific configurations of weapons and armor. That’s literally my dream-game for any devs reading this. Here’s a million dollar idea

I.e. you carve some sick bitch monsters teeth
And now you have teeth that can be drilled or welded into your sword or hammer. Manes and pelts for hilts and armor. Specific bone structures and claws for pommels. Etc etc.

Replace all RNG drops with a system like that and we got a real competitor.
All that's left is having fun and satisfying gameplay, which is arguably the hardest part to get right.

Wow great idea, ideas-guys.
How does it work in practice?

3U, 4U, GU, even world

quests usually starts him in a open area

then he moves to the most cramped places imaginable

Pretty much the first beta was when I completely came to terms with the fact the game would be an atrociously flawed product. From performance to how utterly atrocious the game looked, I knew those things were set in stone.
I lost hope for gameplay when I played my first beta multiplayer hunt.

Engagement farming like it's a mobile game

I got a set together to start G-rank with

why are people STILL playing wilds? there's just nothing there yet with only half the game out at the moment

When the leaks came out and discovered the game had barely like 33 monsters
And then people digged through the code and slowly found out more and more stuff was missing, so only like 28 monsters.

there isnt even any gigantic set piece monster. pretty disappointing

only 18 monsters

missing weapons

gets a pass for some reason

Stop criticizing Wilds

This. There are 20+ years of decent games worth playing

”devs basically said “LOL FUCK OFF” when asked about ports of the older titles

they brought up the network/multiplayer systems as a negative point of comparison compared to WORLD AND FUCKING WILDS

I cant tell if they’re actually delusional or just don’t give a shit and know that the bosses would never let people play the older stuff on modern systems

IMG_5970.jpg - 885x1024, 98.05K

Rise/Sunbreak was always the superior nu-MH.

Tri didn't even sell 2 million units bro

Everything you said was def shit, but if the game had content I woulnt give a single fuck for that. But it hasnt, and the content it has is piss easy and underutilized. I played it like 40 hours and dropped.

the older titles

compared to WORLD AND FUCKING WILDS

I'm sorry, which of those games sold 10+ million copies?

meow, that's pawsitively awesome! :DD

We love this thoughever

previews coming out and people coping about never carting and killing monsters in 5 minutes but saying "the game isn't easier we just got better" which was the most predictable psyop ever so we could accept a casualized product.

Then the reviews came ouit and said the story is frontloaded and the credits play after 15 hours which cemented that it was gonna shit the bed.

previews coming out and people coping about never carting and killing monsters in 5 minutes but saying "the game isn't easier we just got better" which was the most predictable psyop

Ah the good old myth. I remember these words when Tri launched.

MHWorld was already easy enough and yet I would have been happy with that level of challenge, MHWorld may have been easy but MHWilds requires half the level of focus needed to beat MHWorld, I'd rather have a game where I have to engage very little than a game where I don't have a reason to pay attention ever at all.

MHWorld was already easy enough

ATs were a challenge. Had so many randoms die at AT Krillin kek
