I kinda love the game, levels are all cool, looks good, the gameplay is smooth, it works, weapons feel good to use
Hell I don't even mind the dragon, turret and mecha sections, it's mindless but it provides a nice breather between levels and arenas just like Eternal's platforming and fortress of DOOM did
But my main problem is how piss easy the whole fucking game is
Nightmare difficulty is a fucking joke
It's weird because on one hand you can die really really fast, but on the other hand all your weapons and abilities are so fucking broken OP that all enemies die fucking instantly and don't have time to kill you at all
I'll have to try playing the game again but this time lowering the damage I do to enemies to the absolute minimum
They overcorrected so hard from Eternal, it's like they saw all the whining about having to maximize your arsenal, were somehow ashamed of it, and just said fuck it, every weapon will now be broken op
You just sneeze on enemies and they vaporize instantly
Even better, thanks to the whining you never run out of ammo, and weapons have more ammo capacity than ever
I really hope they're planning some actual good and challenging shit for the DLCs with new enemies because now it feels like wasted potential
DOOM The Dark Ages serious talk
simon says red light green light
Bethesda has deposited 300 creator club credits to your account.
and weapons have more ammo capacity than ever
The fuck
You do have more ammo compared to eternal but less than in d16
They overcorrected so hard from Eternal,
Yeah but more like from tag1
Tag1 whining really broke id in terms of spicing up the experience
Anyway, I hope they add master levels or arcade mode equivalent from previous games in the eventual dlc
Yes, they've decided to listen to the loud minority of fucktards who got their asses fucked by Eternal
The game literally expects you to stick to one weapon for a whole arena
The game gives you so many powerful abilities and upgrades, it's literally too much, Doomguy just farts and shits out insane DPS
Enemies barely have time to react
You do have more ammo compared to eternal but less than in d16
I was exaggerating, but considering how each weapon in TDA is a fucking powerhouse, it kinda feels like you're always running on an infinite ammo cheat code
Plus to get ammo you only need to melee kill literally any enemy on the field
They fucked up with their "modular" difficulty settings
It should never be up to the players to create the fun and difficulty
The "base" difficulty are all fucking jokes
To get even the slightest amount of challenge you have to play on Nightmare, and then tweak the settings so that you have all the fucking handicaps possible stacked against you
DOOM Eternal's Hurt Me Plenty is literally harder than TDA's Nightmare
What the fuck were they thinking
Is there an FOV slider? All I've seen is 70 FOV console faggotry.
not a single word about the soundtrack
Nightmare difficulty is a fucking joke
i dont get this complaint at all, im at 50 hp all damn game
Is there an FOV slider?
Yes, there is one on consoles too. Been playing with a 110 fov
serious talk
lmao tl;dr, shit thread for shit game
id layoffs imminent
I wasn't enjoying the game until the first hell level. It's around that time that I got a good grip on the mechanics but also I'm just not into the dark fantasy shit, the first few levels did nothing for me.
The whole sequence of awakening cthulhu and going to the dark realm has been great, loving these levels. Some levels are way too big though, game is a bit too concerned with being "Epic" in scale.
EVER setting your FOV above 95
Absolutely fucking disgusting.
literal NPC that can't play games or watch movies if they aren't big massive successes, the type of nigger that will look at box office numbers to decide whether or not he'll watch a movie. LOSER. Keep chasing that flavor of the month shit, buddy. You'll develop your own taste one day.
real gamers play with 100 fov because it's a nice round number
being this mad because his shit game flopped
it's okay you'll grow out of reddit one day
DOOM Eternal's Hurt Me Plenty is literally harder than TDA's Nightmare
you control how hard the game is depending how you play. if your gameplay is running around with the reaver standing back and sniping then yeah you're making the game as easy as possible for yourself.
the way the devs intended for you to play is obviously crash into the middle of enemies and start john dooming everywhere with reckless abandon but tons of epicness.
i'm not saying it's not fun
it's actually a lot of fun imo, but enemies should have been a lil bit more tanky by default considering how strong all weapons are on their own
just like the devs totally anticipated the constant weapons swapping after every shot in eternal, right?
having to maximize your arsenal
what, is that a euphemism for weapon juggling?
Normal shootans differentiate weapon by power and utility, and constrain that difference via limited ammo and level design. I can understand maximising the utility of a BFG in D1 or D2 by landing all tracers on targets to save ammo, or leveraging plasma's range against a particularly hard to approach cyber. Serious Sam is like 70% optimising the right weapon to the right target, with costly weapon switch in mind, so as not to get smothered.
Now because DE takes place in homogeneous arenas and drops universal ammo, the guns themselves are nigh interchangeable, carried mostly by their alt-fires. Aside from arbalest blade, maximizing means playing guitar hero on your keyboard to skip alt-fire/reload cooldowns. For a shooter to have the primary fire kill the enemy in reasonable time is a feature, not a bug.
games like eternal and ultrakill at their best have you ask what the best weapon for the situation is and seamlessly swap between them, which is good and fun. Serious Sam is good and all but by the end it always devolves into "pull out your strongest weapon and abuse it as hard as you can." It's fun but I'd hardly call it great shooter combat.
that hud looks insanely soulless
Kek id troons
I dont need to taste shit to know is shit retard..
Even better, thanks to the whining you never run out of ammo
You never actually run out of ammo in Shiternal anyways, since the chainsaw is on cooldown and there will always be 2 zombies alive. The ammo capacity in Shiternal was annoying not because you actually ran out, but because it disrupted the flow and felt like shit to fire 5 times and then have to chainsaw for a reload. And that's all the chainsaw was, a glorified fucking reload animation for your infinite ammo, small capacity magazine weapons.
...Yes? Weapon swap speed is one of the first things a gamedev designs an FPS around.
It's weird because on one hand you can die really really fast, but on the other hand all your weapons and abilities are so fucking broken OP that all enemies die fucking instantly and don't have time to kill you at all
What i hate is that i never die in a fair way.
100% of my deaths are from a demon quietly with no sound effects spawning behind my back out of thin air and 1 shooting me.
Every time the enemy is in front of me i wreck them, but there is no audio or visual cue for new enemies showing up behind your back, you just need to be schizo and spin around like retard checking if new enemies didnt spawn in.
Its both way too easy, and unfair.
At lest on Nightmare, i bet on easier difficulty this isnt that much of a problem.
I like it in GOW, it removes the guessing if an attack is blockable or not, something souls games are shit about.
sekiro had that figured out but then they regressed with elden ring
its a good idea, just make it less obvious, have the enemy flash white before a strong attack or somethig
Weapon juggling for extra DPS was a thing in '16, basic mandatory speed running tech. Hugo did promotion with speedrunners, even giving preview access to DE, so speedrunners would drum up hype. Then the first two-three levels of the game are non-stop mancs, revs and arachnos begging to have their weakpoints blown up and sniped.
Or just properly telegraph attacks so you can tell what the enemy is going to do based off animations alone. The egregious UI for this stuff is either 1 of 2 things. It's either baby difficulty (which disrespects the players intelligence) or it's poor fundamental design & they shoehorn this in to cover it up.
Projectiles being silent is the worst part especially when every other enemy now shoots slow moving green blobs that track you half way accross the map.
guessing
KEK play the game and read the moveset like an action game then
Yeah the difficulty is weird
If you enable the threat detection it makes it too easy, the difficulty is only really from not being aware of who’s going to attack
it was always like this, you come out from behind cover and 100 projectiles track you, and 99% of demons being silent beside the one you are looking at
Sounds like someone who wasn't even born in the 4:3 display era.
not with the meme trend of delayed and fake out attacks where enmies pin 5x in air, brind sword up, bring it down, bring it up, start swinging, stop, start again, hold it for 5 seconds, then attack in 0.01 second so you cant react
im fucking tired of this shit
KEK play the game and read the moveset like an action game then
read moveset
in from games and shitty clones you can die in 1 or 2 hits
cant read shit those days, its about trial and error
Gameplay is good enough for me to want to play again. But the levels are an absolute slog. The music sucks too. And there are no master levels or slayer gates to provide interesting challenges.
Forced ray tracing sucks too. I played Doom Eternal after this, and it's just so much smoother.
I don't mind the levels, I mind that you are half-required to explore most of it to get all the meaningful weapon/other upgrades. If I played on UV this probably wouldn't matter but Nightmare wtih even more tweaked settings its brutal and I imagine not being as-upgraded as I am this would be much worse
Fair thing to say for melee brawlers, but in Doom parriable attack indication is needed, at least. Falter and daze indicators are useful too, but can be foregone. But when you have speedy projectiles that cover the whole arena in half a second along with crawling tracking fireballs that take 5 seconds to arrive, reading the animation while hellknight is pummeling you isn't an option.
I just hate how there is so much empty space that you have to run through. You also have to sometimes run back after getting a key to get upgrade materials. Just a waste of time. I kept thinking "let me get to the combat."
Doom Eternal had really tight level design, which made replaying it so enjoyable. There was also much more variety.
veri serius guys please buy the game right now
That´s exactly my opinion. They could make a 2x better game, just port more enemies from eternal (archville, pain elemental), put more rooms, bad rooms, i don´t care, and non stop action. But no, let´s walk backwards like a slug half level so i can get a key.
100% of my deaths are from a demon quietly with no sound effects spawning behind my back out of thin air and 1 shooting me.
The Doom3 experience.
But the levels are an absolute slog
was going to replay as well but then i thought of the dragon levels and i'm probably just going to put it into my DLC+master levels waiting list
Doom Eternal had really tight level design, which made replaying it so enjoyable.
early levels were a slog because you were so handicapped. TDA doesnt really have the problem. i guess i could mess with difficulty settings but kinda just wish there was a true ng+ that sort of does that but in a guided way.
also, OST was good but not amazing. the best tracks are all in the last 3 levels of the game (the last mech scene + the last boss theme)
Do these fucktards really don't read beyond one line of fucking text?
ohhhh he big mad. Go write a book about it, faggot
I'm glad you enjoyed a video game OP. Something these joyless autistic faggots here seem utterly incapable of these days.
Cheers.
KEKKKKK
You're autistic.
Eternal > Dark Ages > 2016 is the nu-Doom ranking
This is the exsct same gripe i had with Eternal when i started it right after finishing 2016 on nightmare.
Shit was NOT nightmare in the slightest. I get that 2016 imps were genuinely unfair bullshit but the difficulty still took a massive nosedive regardless of them. Like, i genuinely cant understand how could there be people who struggled with it, let alone on fucking NORMAL.
base campaign wise, eternal sucks because you dont get your toys until 1/3 into the game and TDA sucks because dragon + mech sections. DLC2 is also shite. TDA last boss is hands down best fps boss i've fought period. it will come down to DLCs but TAG1 + doom eternal MLs are so fucking kino it's basically an impossible ask.
kekkkk stay mad
tda last boss is the best fps boss I've fought period
Play ultrakill, tda is an improvement on eternal's bosses but ultrakill is bursting at the seams with good shooter bosses and many of them are better
saar why didn't you buy new doom game is very good buy it now bloody benchod
game forces me to stay in melee range of demons like cyberdemon or i will get shot with hitscan to death
but then i get immediately surrounded by fodder that keeps endlessly spawning behind me
how the fuck do you actualy "stand and fight" in this game?
STAND AND FIGHT
because dragon + mech sections
Mech sections are pretty short and are unironic button mashing
Dragon are a bit longer but always have slaya on foot sections. Combat wise dragon is as braindead as mech in terms of complexity. Dragon sections with markets are pure ASS tho
Also is it me or did they remove/tuned down green environmental markers that lead you towards the objective?
Here's my honest criticisms after beating nightmare
Sound design is shit
This is the worst part of this game, enemies will spawn directly behind you and immediately attack. Gone are most sound cues for enemies spawning in and bullets are neary silent as well. Dying feels like it isn't your fault most the time because of this
No direct key binds for specific weapons
You have to select the sub weapon by selecting the weapon first. Literally no excuse to have this system, it's awful. Also swapping melee weapons is a pain, menu only.
Weapon balance is poor
They really don't want you switching weapons because of the back pedal from Eternal, that's fine, but they made a lot of weapons signficantly worse than others. SSG is king. Skull crusher is shit until you fully upgrade the ravasher then its the boss weapon. Impaler is trash, headshot enemy 5 times for kill or just 2 shots with SSG. Gee I wonder. Flail is also shit because armor is useless in this game, you're constantly low health and relying on hp mechanics to get it back, flail's damage is also really bad
Lore
Thira is never mentioned in 2016 or Eternal but is shoe horned as some pivotal piece of DA SLAYER's history. This is shoe horned in, probably by execs or something. I only need enough story to give me a reason to kill things, not this marvel crap. Also the cutscenes are all really poor quality, every npc seems dead inside and looks at doom guy like he's some sort of god.
Mech battles and dragon riding
Boring and feel shoe horned in, none of these were fun or challenging. I imagine its for reddit fags to soi face over.
Soundtrack
No complaints other than there's just nothing memorable. Music was fine, but I can't recall a single song, it's all just kinda hard metal.
Level design
Absolute shit, it felt like a fucking job looking for everything on the map and getting the secrets. Every stage is littered with them. There were so many switches I was playing Hexen for a while.
*without markers
i played all of ultrakill on p-rank besides the most recent stuff and nothing really compares. from a pure visual and sound design, soundtrack and the gameplay point of view fighting the twink demon was the closest i've gotten to being dropped into a DMC bossfight in first person.
Yeah it's a huge glow up from the Dark Lord boss fight in Eternal TAG2, which was nothing more than a beefed up Marauder with a healing ability
You're the one fuming, thoughever. I'm just observing that you're autistic. Maybe you lack self-awareness.
Impaler is used with
buff your next shot with picked up impaler ammo
upgrade. I found it pretty good against bosses and big demons
I tried using it, but like nothing felt better than SSG, the only time i didn't use SSG was because they're too far so I used the shield and rocket launcher, mostly for cacos, wraiths or the wizards at the end.
I just treat the shield bash like the meat hook that works for every weapon. Just shield bash, SSG, parry, SSG, most shit dies. If it's a cyber demon, Bash, SSG, BIG BONK MACE, DEAD
Why do people say the regular shotgun is better than the super shotgun? Have they not played the game? The super shotgun is a goddamn beast so far.
I guess they didn't play enough to get all ssg upgrades
>Sound design is shit
cant really remember 100% but i think it was always terrible, positional audio wise
No direct key binds for specific weapons
agreed, a mod will probably sort this out like in eternal
Weapon balance is poor
nah everythings viable people just dont know how to use the weapons. i used ssg, combat shotgun, shredder, impaler, grenade launcher, ravager. all felt powerful when compared at full upgrade levels.
agreed or no comment on rest
What's the purpose of chainball gun? Looking at the upgrades I guess it should be good against armored enemies but it takes like 1 shot from ssg to super heat enemy armor
cant really remember 100% but i think it was always terrible, positional audio wise
It wasn't, in 2016 you heard Imp fireballs wizzing past you. Imps would also scream when spawning in warning you of their presence.
There are no such sounds in Dark Ages. I dont know how many times I just get a low life warning and turn around and a fucking trash mob just spawned behind me and started swiping me without making a sound.
nah everythings viable people just dont know how to use the weapons. i used ssg, combat shotgun, shredder, impaler, grenade launcher, ravager. all felt powerful when compared at full upgrade levels.
Sorry but no, shotgun sucks, again armor is pointless in this game, you're constantly on low HP on nightmare difficulty. The richochet of the nail gun is okay but halfway through the game I stopped using it because the SSG exists. Skull crusher is fucking dog shit you will never change my mind on this weapon. Fully upgraded Ravager is good though. Grenade launcher? I forgot this fucking thing existed, cluster bombs are not useful, a shield bash clears a group of enemies and big enemies rarely have anything around them because you clear them out first.
Rocket launcher? Probably the worst Id rocket launcher because enemy bullets have hit boxes so you cant use it reliably because it just makes contact with them. They really just want you to get in there and melee in this game so they made the rocket launcher a fucking point blank weapon to heal, but why use it when there's an SSG that does more dmg point blank?
are we all in agreement that Cosmic Realm is the best part of the game?
They're tying Quake into Doom, probably to make a Quake game announcement after the DLC
The witch bitch is also from there, so expect the DLC to be more of this
change doom from and FPS to an FPSoulslop
I wonder what went wrong..
autistic projection without the emotional stability to elaborate or express himself
triggered by pictures and videos.. realllllyyyy mad
Yeah
Cosmic realm and hell levels are great
I also liked some simple puzzles like the rotating room or loop until you start moving backwards
maxed combat shotgun is similar dps to all the other weapons and gives you ammo and farms aoe damage, its just solid all around weapon n the armor adds up over time. just learn how the movement works to avoid dmg and over time i always had leftover armor from fighting. shredder fully upgraded comboed with entire room parried and stunned and getting hit by ricochet rounds is great. nade is good for spamming into clusterfuck groups you dont want to shield bash into.
i liked all the later levels because thats when the game clicked for me and the arena designers started getting harder as well.
Having given the game a chance now I am forced to admit. I am having fun.
It's not 2016. It's faster paced and significantly less forgiving in the number of things you need to be considering and reacting to. Gameplay is faster.
However. It's also not the twitch bullshit that was eternal. At no point are you forced to make a hard swap to X weapon, Y attachment and then do Z to enemy A1 in order to not waste all of your ammo killing it. There are enemies that have an ideal weapon, like eternal. However the game has given you a number of options for dealing with them. There is no single best answer anymore.
The big melee/parry system is.. not doom. It feels a lot like something like hexen. Yes, the red and green orbs are the most trite and video game things possible. Yes, there is zero reason for them to exist outside of being a transparent gameplay mechanic- but they're not particularly obnoxious so it evens out.
Melee itself has some issues. Charges for your punch and melee is never going to stop being stupid. Making them a chainsaw replacement is why it's like this, but still, it's dumb. Worse and top of my annoyances is that enemies you're incentivized to melee, the things the game wants you to "stand and fight" can and will just continue to fuck you up through your epkik SLAYER maykr flail combo. I've been killed by things that sperg out while I am caving their heads in. With a limited number of strikes allowed, they should be staggering enemies.
In summery: 2016 is the best "traditional doom game" Eternal is still shit for ADHD zoomies. Dark ages is enjoyable and best thought of as a well-made spin off.
Its fun, a little easy, but fun to play, similar to the first two games. I don't care for the lore, but am enjoying myself more than Eternal. I don't take it too seriously. Engine still feels good eventhough I am only getting about 72FPS. No stuttering or tearing.
he'll get the depowered and needs to reclaim his godhood arc in the next game if people online complain he too powerful now.
I definitely prefer Eternal's approach of weapon swapping instead of Punches and Parries being the answer to 90% of the enemies. I wanted to play the different weapons but swapping is too slow and you can't block and dashes are gone.
doomguy turns into basically the marauder in the story but also gameplay
he even had the visual, fuck me how didn't i seee this
Worse, you can't raise your shield when swapping weapons.
The only thing I will agree with you even slightly on here is weapon swapping. There's too many guns, and making every other weapon an alt makes the problem worse. The combat shotgun has no value anymore, the base plasma gun never gets used and I only use the big slow spike rifle when the game is throwing single big enemies at me one after another
Yeah look at this webm
"hmm I'm very close to enemies, perhaps I should swap to Shotgun"
And you'd eat shit
Because on UV you are like glass. Regular shotgun gets armor drops. SS doesn't. Also doesn't help that most enemies are super tanky.
The Not-Quake dimension levels are really nice to look at. I like the non euclidian gimmicks.
turret and mecha sections
Cliffy Bitch design? this game is fucked
so does my bonker, and death gives health so armor is just there to ensure I can run out of the fight with enough hp to find more before fighting the next thing
To be fair, the turret sections are extremely short, like VERY short. They are a non-issue. The mech and worse dragon riding is extremely awful.
Okay my honest take.
I hated the game until chapter 11 Hellbreaker. I experimented with some of the settings
Turn off music
Play youtube.com
set game speed to 120%
make sure you are on UV or above
It's fun and chaotic like Eternal again. Only problem that remains is the weapon swap speed. They need to fix it. I honestly preferred the mobility to the shield but the shield gets more fun the further you go in and I kinda dig it. The game just relies way too much on it. Also the guns kinda suck. That's my other complaint. I miss the classic weapons. You do get SOME of them but most of the weapons in TDA just suck or aren't fun to use. Other than that, I might give the game a solid 7.5. It definitely gets better the further you get into it but it shouldn't be like that. Eternal and 2016 got good as soon as you started.
it's mindless but it provides a nice breather between levels
I don't want a breather. I want to keep killing demons though.
no doom really be bussin for real for real
The game kind of has the opposite problem of Eternal in that you wonder why you even would switch weapons at all. Sticking to 1 weapon in a battle works way better than bothering to switch around.
I am 90% of the time just using the big chain ball gun
Heh. There's one secret where you throw your shield through the gap on a rotating wheel and it reminded my exactly of nuGoW.
They do not want you swapping weapons in DA, they listened to all the people complaining about Eternal making it the optimal way to play.
Also this game kind of inverts your entire approach to combat compared to 2016 and Eternal. in 2016/Eternal you wanted to go after big demons first then go after the small shit, in this game they want you going after small things first.
play on at least 120% speed - then its way more fun and more challenging, if thats not enough then lower parry window
default speed is slowmo for console babies
You fight every enemy in Eternal the same way, you just combo them to death with your strongest weapon because you're always guaranteed to get back 50% of every ammo type every 15 seconds. In Sam, you need to switch guns to suit the situation you're currently in. Of course, most times you're just using up all of your minigun rounds but there's plenty of cases where you'll pull out rockets or a shotgun.
DA changes nothing about this,. you fight every enemy the same way, you shield rush them, then you parry, then you ssg inbetween parries until dead
somewhat unrelated but viscerafest came out recently and the last chapter had quite a few direct quake references
That looks cool. They honestly should have remade Quake after Eternal. There was no topping Quake. Use NIN again, do aliens instead of demons, switch up the atmosphere and weapons and BAM you got a fairly similar franchise you can milk again.
OR HEAR ME OUT
The shield reminds me a lot of antiquity. If you wanted to take Doom in a drastically different direction and be set on the prequel, should have had Slayer invade Greek or Roman mythology maybe go through 9 circles of hell in Dante's Inferno. Use the shield as a throwback to the Spartan bronze shields, maybe have the ballista is a Roman Pila thrower, use your preexisting skull gun, whatever. You got a lot of material to draw upon now. Can have Slayer take on Zeus. Bam there's your historical prequel.
Should I try 150%? The jump from 100 to 120% was huge but I love it. I don't think I'll be fast enough for 150% lol, it's already QUICK.
You're mostly right. Dark Ages changes it quite a bit in the opposite direction, but it has the same result. Instead of cycling between 2-4 of the best guns in the game constantly, you just pick 1 because switching guns takes way too long and will just make you get hit.
Why did they shoehorn Cthulhu into Doom?
Looks awful.
unblockable attacks in sekiro are literally telegraphed with a distinct sound effect and a massive red symbol over your head.
b- but i was talking about blocking attacks with a shield in dark souls / elden ring
genuine skill issue if you have to rely on shields in these games. bloodborne made the right move in getting players used to not using such a massive crutch (shields)
i kinda liked picking a gun and sticking to it for the entire level, you sort of get new gameplay with a new gun as opposed to eternal in a way.
the game speed on default is already pretty chaotic, since you should be sprinting everywhere all the time. also the game is much faster than eternal thanks to this + shield bashing everywhere.
guns kinda suck.
yeah i miss destroyer blade or something equally cool. that said the visual presentation is better, the gun effects when i blast with mah shredder + auto turret in tandem is just great, just wish it had the gun design to boot.
you control how hard the game is depending how you play.
...thats the case with any game ever made
yeah the parry fake out blue balling timing shit is peak annoyance
you do not want hugo "gimmick lover" martin remaking quake, or machine games
they will fuck it with marvel lore or adding niggers or some other shit, just let it die, i dont want this shit for quake
What's the best shield rune? I've been using the first one you get because it seems the best to me
I'm having fun, but I'll definitely be replaying with the difficulty settings maxed out. You do way too much damage on Nightmare. The fights are over so fast.
The one that stuns + shocks. Everything else cant compare
Everything is viable. There is no 'best'. Play how you want, not what stweemer retards say.
I used the shoulder cannon the most because it seemed like the strongest. It made Revenants a joke.
he asked what's best retard, not viable
Miss a single gold piece
Have to backtrack across the map to get it
Miss a single secret
Have to replay the level to get it
Get 100 ammo drops from melee attacks for a challenge
Have to purposefully empty my guns and farm fodder demons to get all 100
This game is surprisingly annoying sometimes.
I kinda love the game
tell me your age gender (gender) and reddit status
visually it's pretty bad (especially some of the enemy sprites) but the gameplay is fun overall imo. i bought it ages ago in early access so i'm just glad it didn't turn out boring like WRATH.
38 male (male) banned
It's annoying in ways that weren't present in Etenral, too.
The second sentence literally addresses my first statement you absolute brain damaged retarded faggot.
100%'ing each map felt like a second job with the constant map checking and backtracking. Also worrying you'll be locked out of an area and miss a secret and have to replay the whole level
The difference is that UK actually has you playing with more involved mechanics, all weapons being useful in different ways against the same enemy in actually different manners. theyre both very widely applicable but not interchangeable
Meanwhile what the other anon says about Doom Eternal is right, you can kind of just shoot anything as long as its bursty and keep swapping. Its kind of if you reduced UK to alternating between the shotgun and the rocket launcher, except at least in this case its not superfluous as theres only 1 pair of weapons that fits that role (other than just shotgun -> shotgun), and that sort of swapping has been completely superseded as UK reached its full arsenal anyway
Is there a music glitch? I am at the barracks and I feel like there is large parts of the game with no music at all even in fights.
i didn't answer the question because im a nigger
we know
I wonder if there was some technical reason they couldn't do Fast Travel this time or if it was just laziness.
anon is actually doing the "collect the funkos and 2715/2715 gold pieces spread across this giant map
Listen buddy, I max out the fov whilst high on PCP and spin around for 2 minutes before playing upside down with a controller coated in chicken grease and donut icing
The premise was flawed you brain damaged chimp, that's literally what my post is about. Cute that you're completely ignoring the fact you got raped by me pointing out you're a tiktok zoomer ADHD fag who couldn't read past the first sentence.
I used the SSG for quick duels, but the Impaler is much better for longer fights since it regenerates melee charge on headshot. You can use the mace with abandon and have it back up for when you finish clearing a leader's horde and can delete the leader as well. And for the multi-phase bosses of the game, you'll be bashing their brains in every 5 seconds.
I didn't finished the game without looking at the map once, I just followed the objective markers. Collecting things in games is fucking pathetic.
The shoulder cannon has the best damage so that's what I used. Don't need stuns when the enemies are dead.
are the levels A to B with some secret levels hidden? or did they switch to a hub system with some teleporting and backtracking like hexen?
Shoulder cannon because it makes you feel like the fucking Predator
The game is linear and straightforward, going from levels 1 through to the end. There are no secret levels. There's no hub system.
He really was the most kino enemy
Your the demons, John
we ARE the dark ages
BRAVO HUGOJIMA
they revive him
he leaves without saying thanks
What a dick lol
This section would have been more fun if you had to collect your weapons again.
It looks cool, but I hate it when they do THAT spit specifically. You're telling me there were even bigger demons out there? Let me fight THAT thing! Same with Elden Right and the titans or whatever.
We are so back
I noticed this too on my playthrough. Those demon fodder soldiers are literally the most dangerous enemies in the game because they spawn continuously and spam their stupid red line of death.
That's not a demon
I don't care what it is. Big Monster? Let us fight it! Don't just imply you're fighting the weakest shit that's left.
it was the hell cultists that revived him
unironically the cut to the candles + wind blowing was 3 sec of pure kino. imagine if the entire game was like this. no gay story but just cool, unspoken dialog and visual language.
Under oversight from his allies, Literally Who 1 and Literally Who 2.
yeah they caught my attention and im not usually looking at the enviro art in FPS games
The cool thing with this story beat is that it explains why Demons eventually collapsed a whole ass temple on Doomguy and locked him inside a sarcophagus with Hell magic before 2016
Killing him is clearly not enough because he can just pop back to life as a zombie out of sheer anger and then get revived fully
You can tell he feels betrayed once he gets revived
He realized that the very thing that brought him back is the thing he's actively fighting against
weapon switching is optional
no glory killslop
fuck yeah time to doom
So what were those maggots on Kreed's body?
He had them before he struck a deal with Hell so are they some weird Maykr biology?
Do the 1UP things count towards the secrets? There's one early in the 2nd level that I can't for the fucking life of me figure out how you're supposed to get.
Technically. The areas that some 1-ups are in are marked as secret areas, so even if you're full and you can see it plainly at the end of a hallway or across a gap, you'll still need to make your way over to it to make sure the game logs it as discovered.
are mancubus bugged by the way? I have not seen a single green parryable orb shot from one of them in my entire time playing the game and I''ve almost completed it now
playing on UV
playing on UV
lol
Ok, I managed to find the way in. Turns out I was retarded and forgot the shield bash was a thing cause I took a break after doing the first mission.
the second half of this game is so much better than the first. This is some of the best stuff nu-ID has done.
another boomer filtered having to aim up and down plus more inputs than just AD strafe
stick to wads
Anyone have a PDF of the art book
yea
