What does Anon Babble think of nu-Hitman?

metadoom

no metahitman

Excellent blend of blood money and absolution qol

Its very good when playing without worrying about savescumming or getting SA, or when playing Freelancer
Doing challenges to unlock stuff is kind of annoying though

They should have just made a 4th one instead of whatever dog shit 007's gonna turn out to be.
They're clearly struggling and I doubt it's gonna be any good

Needed more gore and most of the time it was more of a puzzle than stealth game

I adore it, but I do wish it took more of the tone and setting of the original games, and the lack of Jesper Kyd hurts it. Everything feels too 'slick' and 'clean' in terms of atmosphere, but I guess it works. I didn't bother playing WoA until 2022 due to the pricing fuck ups and I was blown away when I did.

fun game to play through but not really liking the RNG of freelancer. doing SASO runs is fun

Probably my favorite Western game of the last decade.
Only flaws I can think of:
-retarded online requirement for challenges
-the soundtrack/atmosphere are not as memorable as BM's (still pretty good)

Way better than it had any right to be following Absolution, but it's so hilariously easy that it needs some major difficulty modifiers

fun to play
impossible to buy

They used to have a sex party in a meat factory map

There's also their fantasy title lmao. This one is going to be a disaster, I can feel it.

Sickening. Made me miss how absolutely broken the AI was in Silent Assassin where everyone would come running across the level if they heard one gun fire. Now it's all this gay 'unlock this' and 'you missed out on' that, as if I wasn't already replaying levels after beating the game in every other title. I couldn't believe how dumbed down the game became because it was already pretty simple if you had the patience to stake out target schedules. Now you just turn on a wallhack and follow quest tutorials.

tl;dr: I think nu-hitman should have crushed peoples balls instead of becoming more accessible.

I hate this series solely because you paid full price for 5 levels, 2 of which was only on disc when the rest was DLC

Only played Hitman (2016) and it put me off on the rest of the trilogy. The enjoyment is almost entirely dependent on the level design. If it well designed I can replay it dozens of times until I run out of challenges, if not I will quickly brute force the assassinations and go unto the next.

The story is pretty good but is delivered in such a bite-sized format that at the end of the game I felt like nothing happened.

The core mechanics of stealth, disguises, shooting and doing mission stories all just felt very shallow. The stealth is quite barebones because of your limited toolkit and because they want you to use disguises which lock you out of the most fun challenges. Combat is an afterthought but because this is mainly a stealth game that can at least be forgiven. Credit where credit is due, how each level is simulated with dozens NPC behavior routines which adapt to your chaotic gameplay is impressive but that is the only thing Hitman has going for it.

the focus has shifted on completing the feats/assassination challenges sadly.
levels themselves are really not that hard and mission stories/opportunities are literally there for the normie cattle to turn off their brain and play on autopilot mode.
For me the biggest culprit of this whole new trilogy is that 47 only kills bad people!!! he's a le good assassin!!! and the shift to 007-shit/knives out crap in hitman 3 was the shit on top. Contracts and blood money were more morally grey, here we're basically playing the paladins of justice killing (((their))) control over media/banks whatever.

You can turn off both, if they didn't appeal to a wider audience then they'd be dead in the water. The real problem is how huge each map is amd how they got rid of the Professional difficulty from 2016

It's good but I prefer contracts and blood money.

no first person

every gun feels like a paintball gun

holds the hands of retards

it’s slop incarnate

limited toolkit

I mean, you can basically take out targets in a lot of ways, for me the problem is the loadout limit. shit is egregious, you unlock so much but you're only allowed to bring 3 items total (mods can fix that).
Even with the limited toolkit, EMETIC really tramps anything else. Once you unlock the darian or whatever throwable 'safe' emetic poison you've basically won each map easy for SA, and SASO doesn't really require an huge investment most of the time.

no 1st person

he doesnt know

lol
sadly relegated to psvr2 :(

sadly relegated to psvr2

you can do this on pc

not with the psvr2 upgrades, it's two distinct versions, the pc vr one is fucking garbage, just look at comparison videos

It's too simple and sterilized. No blood. No good. no first person. NPC's are as dumb as it gets and very predictable. It's still "fun" but killing doesn't feel like killing and isn't satisfactory.

while this is true overall there are still some grey characters like caruso or that one interpol chick from calorado
arguably the targets in berlin have no clue the ICA has actually been compromised and are just doing their jobs thinking they are hunting down a traitor

yeah bro this target never stops being followed around by an entire entourage of bodyguards so have fun picking them off one by one just to get your SASO garrote only kill

oh and if you try and create distractions by say poisoning with an emetic or throwing coins or whatever that won't work to isolate the main character cuz he'll literally stop in his tracks and puke in front of everyone in the lobby trash can instead of going to the bathroom alone

in short it's only good if you wear the silly outfits and do the silly mission stories. if you want to play it without all that shit you can but it's like you're being punished for it going against their designated way of playing. anyway this game has some amazing levels and I genuinely enjoyed it for what it was but I have absolutely no desire to pick it back up. also wtf this game would be perfect for a first person mode and yet it's not there by default. all this detail and it goes to waste.

caruso was shown as extremely unstable with mommy problems, he even engineered a poison to specifically kill her colleague because he knew ((they)) put her there to replace him eventually. So no, he's only surface level grey, if you cared to do all feats and shit you will find out that he's a nevrotic mess ready to go off at a moment's notice.

ICA has been compromised

they fucking accepted a job from (((them))) and mid-contract decided to turn on the job-giver because oh le heckin numero 6... remember the 6 gorillion experiments 47!!!!!, soder was already eliminated in hitman 2016.
You are really a traitor, there's no compromised shit. The targets you kill in the chingchong mission are just transhumanist trash needed to wipe the ICA db for.... reasons!!!! lmao what a trash plot

Love it. Started series with silent assassin on ps2 and they've all been great

i was not aware of the differences. thanks for the info anon

Doing freelancer mission at Haven Island

Extra objective to kill three guards

Go to that room with guaranteed three guards in it

Door closed, no one can see me pulling out a gun

NPC still sees through a wall and I fail

8 years until hitman 4

I've completed every map from the tutorial to Carpathian Mountains for 20 Mastery, and I've also done every escalation for each one of them.

Honestly, is playing Sniper Assassin/the Bonus Maps/Campaigns (like the Christmas Paris or Patient Zero campaigns) worth it? As fun as it's been I'm getting a little burned out and I think it's time to move to a different game.

I like it. Not as much as I like Blood Money, but I don't hate it as much as some people on this board seem to.

Best stealth game ever made

It's missing Jesper Kyd kino

sniper assassin is NOT worth it, mastery 20 takes AGES to do. The extra campaigns are nice, I would do them.

It’s only a few contrarians that hate it. From a gameplay and content perspective, it’s the objective best game in the franchise. The older games beat in atmosphere and soundtrack, but that’s it.

Patient Zero is worth a playthrough. Maybe play the first Sniper Assassin map (Himmelstein) and see if it amuses you.

The best sniper map is Siberia though. I actually wish it was an actual level.

Agreed, I'm just assuming that anon hasn't bought the DLC for it.

a modder made hantu port playable, but siberia is missing too many models to be sandbox playable

i have like 500 hrs in these games and only 1 map 20 mastery i think, you really shouldnt focus them unless you like them.

and patien zero is an entirely new selection of missions with high effort map reworks/redesigns. play them. although i think sapienza got a total of 3 unique reworked designs for missions. my favorite is the local politician at the beach. the superhero film set one is higher effort but not as comfy.

I spent over 3 hours fucking around in Paris, trying to see everything I can do in it. It was fun but I have not played the rest yet.

paris released as episodic content originally and i played it for 30hrs, its why its the favorite map for a lot of people + sapienza.

Nu-man

It's fun, but the devs are trying to portray 47 as a Bondesque superhero killing big time villains when he's supposed to be an amoral assassin who works for the highest bidder.

most of nu-man is about tracking down the clone assemblers, it just happens they are all linked with epstein island enjoyers

i liked the gameplay a lot
i liked the big levels a lot
the atmosphere was hit and miss, but i really liked hawke's bay, berlin, hokkaido, and dartmoor
the music may as well have not showed up, i just muted it and played music from the previous games instead.

the music is great, i can't imagine playing nudoom with kyd's soundtrack. two complete different vibes.

got rid of the Professional difficulty from 2016

how did it differ from the professional difficulty in woa?

Freelancer is probably the best

could be great if it wasnt for the always online BS

I enjoyed playing it. I still prefer Blood Money in general but Apex Predator is hands down the best Hitman level I've ever played.
I'm really curious to see what they'll do with 007

The vineyard party level followed by the pure action level on the train honestly felt like a sort of test run for the Bond game, and that makes me optimistic.

Probably the only good nu-.
