game ending is decided by various unspecified decisions you make throughout the game

Keep going.

if you want to pick a specific ending just watch it on youtube

Use cheat engine and get the ending I want close and uninstall

this, but it still doesn't soothe the frustration of a game blindsiding you.

deal with the witch girl a lot in Dragon's Dogma to buy her shit in her swamp store

dragon calls me a pedophile at the end of the game and says she's my love interest for interacting with her so much

Could be worse, could've been the fat balding merchant with a thick moustache

FFX-2

play the entire game assuming its linear

get a shitty ending in act 2

assume the game was just kinda shit and never look into online discourse

i wonder which good games i've just turned my nose up at because they seemed like crud

NOOOO, I HAVE TO LIVE WITH THE CONSEQUENCES OF MY CHOICES?!

HOW COULD THIIISS BEEEE

Just read a walkthrough if you're too much a faggot to deal with bad endings

No stop

all games must have shitty stories

gaymers are obsessed with being "optimal" and filling checkboxes

yep it's the cancer+cancer combination

assuming its linear

imagine being so bad at games you fail at the story..

Make better choices if you don't want a shitty ending. simple

kinetic novels are the ultimate form of videogame

I KNOOOOOOOOOOW

Finish game

Don't get the story at all

Watch YouTube summary to truly understand it

It keep happening. Help.

Based Metro, Witcher 3

I do zero research before playing a game. And I will only search for stuff online if I am stuck on a part for longer than 20 minutes and exhausted all options I can think of. But after I beat a game for the first time and do everything I want to do I always research if there more stuff to do and I just never find out.

That was a good moment. SMT IV has a lot of cool shit, I just wish it was better overall.

Disco e

Nah, my decisions made her get dragged around for a bunch of side questing.

Agreed
Never stop

how many rubberbands would that take?

First Persona is so easy to get the bad ending in

One time a vending machine fell on a dude cause I said heroes are stupid. Like what the fuck

Metro 2033 and Iji are fantastic for stealth story routes. They make sense in-world, don't beat you over the head, and are satisfying conclusions either way.
I'd like to see more, but asking for recommendations means instantly spoiling the thing you are asking for.

Ok but it's REALLY funny.

How was I supposed to know? Fuck you.

stop skipping the cutscenes/dialgue

Didn't become best friends with the Hitler's Youth recruit? Enjoy your bad end!

you have two options anon:

mod the game so the dragon is a loli

or

mod the game so the witch girl has huge tits

I got put off by the soul cannon bit in the intro. It's either going to be contrived drama at some point, or become a complete non-issue if you just play good. Or the worst scenario, some VN-style route exhaustion, where you have to hit several over the top misery porn dead ends, before being allowed to walk the golden path.

Just one if you know how to use it.

Ace Attorney teaches me to compulsively look over item descriptions for minute changes over the course of the game

get a knife in Silent Hill 2

You know how that went.

Game?

Based. Exactly as it should be.

no i don't, because i never once thought of a game getting frequent changes unless i'm told before hand that's how the series is. Hell even in ace atorney they literally flash the item on screen and say it's been updated and almost never do secret ones.

Looking at that particular item repeatedly over the course of the game pushes you towards the ending where the MC kills himself.

For me, it's Silent Hill 2 keeping check of how many times you examined Mary's photo and Angela's knife in the inventory.

worst ending is achievable by intentionally being an unyielding sociopath bastard throughout the game

it's not enough to make the worst choices presented to you, you have to go out of your way to be as evil as possible

Game asks you a random philosophical question with no real wrong answer.

If you don't pick the ONE specific option in a list of 12+, the game locks out you into a bad ending.

it's belief, idiot

The best ending?

Can't recall if it's from Shadowrun Returns or Shadowrun: Hong Kong

Name one, I say this totally seriously and not memeing

You should have subscribed to the devs beliefs and ideals chud
be better

Unironically Undertale.

I was referring to Undertale and Deltarune chapter 2

Who's the artist?

Side with the people that are trying to bring law and order to a zombie hellscape

Actually they where basically nazis

The real good guys where the ones trying to kill you from the moment you met them

They are all "Returns" because it's meant as a revival of those old console games. The first campaign is "Dead Man's Switch", the one he's talking about is "Dragonfall" and the last is the most imaginative, "Hong Kong".

Game writers before: "I used my ideology as a basis for explorative fiction, accidentally wrote animal farm, and am mad you think killing my le nuanced antagonist faction is the right choice (but you can)"

Game writers now: (dead ass frfr no cap just a communist struggle session) "don't you realize people are getting fired! Lives are ruined when you don't consoom you hekkin shitlord!"

quest tasks you to save some characters

one guy over the radio asks where's a safe place to go in a certain region

pick the wrong direction

he ends up dead in a toxic area

commander suicide charges the thing that killed his whole squad and gets turned into paste

get back and the two survivors are so mindbroken by everyone being dead they disband their group entirely and end up horribly depressed

No, that's the dog ending

Game is influenced by whether or not you opened any of three random chests in the beginning of the game

beedog.jpg - 705x629, 40.69K

Xenoblade X?

yes
i reloaded a save from 2 hours ago to undo it
fuck this game

game ending is decided by repeatedly talking to a single goblin

Name one game.

Fuck this aspect of Dying Light 2 so hard.

Apocalypse so dire there is literally almost no humans left on Earth

Viladore is one of the last places where people can scratch out a living

The Survivors (literally the commies) are all scum who betray you, blame you for crimes, backstab each other, and barely hold any of their settlements together at all

Every Peacekeeper you meet is a relatively good person trying to establish order in a hellscape

They're the bad guys because they.... Le HECCIN hang criminals!

Fucking retarded game.

finish Silent Hill 2 (og not the remake) for the first time a few months ago

get the "In water" ending

think I got the bad ending

tell my friends that are huge Silent Hill fans and the reason I'm playing it in the first place

they tell me that there is no way I got that ending by going in blind

they tell me I must have looked it up

ask why would I look how to get the bad ending

they tell me it's the good ending

???

they tell me that you kind of need to play the game in a very specific way to get it

I played the game the same I would play any other game

mfw

Jackie Chan

Nah, if I have to look for answer online then it's a shitty design.

What game?

Are you okay Anon?

Planescape: Torment? I didn't finished it.

Same but for Signalis

I felt like such a genius translating the number sequence at the beginning of the game and holding onto it. I knew very little about the game and I just had an inkling those numbers didn't mean absolutely nothing.

The thing is, I actually looked up how the ending system work out of curiosity, it turns out it's a weird point-based system, the In water ending just requires you to check an item in your inventory, interact with 2 things on the map, listen to a conversation, and being low on health for a while (optional), if you simply double back often, check everything on the map and in your inventory and are efficient with your healing items you are bound to get that ending. I got the ending because of the autism of interacting with everything that I got after playing Undertale.

That's strange I got the exact ending my first time too
I wanted the ending where I got with Maria

Final fantasy 12
You can randomly lock yourself out of one of the strongest weapons in the game by PLAYING THE GAME NORMALLY.

It's not even a choice or anything, it's chance based on opening chests in a zone way before it.

You mean the strongest weapon in the game is tied with random loot you can get at the very beginning of the game? Yeah, really what were they thinking.

This website has really declined if nobody's posted this game yet.
You better not turn down the footjob under the table.

file.png - 800x600, 481.3K

I haven't thought about that game in such a long time. Absolute kino that one

elaborate?

I got leave ending. Which was fitting since I was done with that piece of shit and just wanted out.

<= You stopped being a smug cunt even once, no boss battle for you.
You chose to do parallel level Y before X than you will get raped at the end of the game.
Alpha protocol is wild.

It's regret.

I dont get it

I always think about this one when it comes to baffling choices in VNs. Classic.

at least you try to understand instead of making some shit up

There is this thing where you start putting elastic bands around a watermelon and eventually the pressure causes it to burst. The elastic bands on the girls head represent decisions made early game that seem harmless but actually put you on the path to a bad end.

bad end.webm - 480x270, 558.2K

Why would I need 500 rubber bands to crush a watermelon when I could just ask my gf to do it between her thighs?

first playthrough went with machin gun and sniper focus because I thought it will have the most power

later on find out pistols are the op weapon

Fun game still. I should replay it someday. Last time I went Italy -> Taiwan -> Russia. I probably go the other way next time and have more time with the mercenary chick.

i thought it was cause he wanted to see her head explode

multiple disgaea games have extremely out of character bad endings if you go out of your way to have the main character kill his own allies dozens of times

Most fun is melee plus shotguns
Setting everything on fire and punching them in slow mo is incredibly satisfying.

What is it with people taking it as a great personal offense when they get anything less than the golden ending on a blind playthrough?
It's a creative work not your fucking GPA.

nothired.png - 418x453, 316.01K

play hgame

actively choose to not see hscene

get bad ending for being a literal fag

makes sense to me
