The last character you played as must solve the Kira case

merely being immune to the death note does not count as a win, your character must actually stop Light, else it's a win for Kira

destroying earth/japan/whatever and taking Light as collateral damage does not count as a win, it must be a conscious and targeted move at Light

your character can have outside help from their allies unless said ally is some sort of god capable of instantly pointing Kira's identity, because then there is no merit for your character

your character starts the challenge with zero notoriety, meaning if they are a notorious criminal they won't die just for existing

Well? Can they do it?

"Could solve the Kira case"

Only like two would be able to speak Japanese

Why would you need Japanese?

I played as CT side agent in Counter-Strike. Probably no solvo

Dead.

streetkid V with 3 INT

it's over

My Sims character

High logic and creativity, but I don't think he's solving the Kira case.
Then again, there's a lot of weird supernatural shit in The Sims, genies and crystal balls and magic and shit. So maybe!

Yeah, but Columbo has had run ins with Japanese culture twice in the past (Blueprint for Murder, and Murder Under Glass) so itd be just dumb enough that you could make a "Columbo in Japan" episode, and itd certainly be better than that god awful "Columbo goes to England" episode we actually got
Plus, he's unironically honorary Japanese

I know Light's downfall was caused by his hubris but I really wish he utilized his cult more. He could've had a mob show up at the warehouse and tear everyone inside limb from limb or have Mikimi help.

He's a bit of a midwit to be honest, despite being considered a super-genius scientist, so I doubt he'd be able to pull it off. Sure, he'd just pop out of some root node when note'd, meaning that he can technically win through attrition, but otherwise I'm not confident he'll make for a good investigator.

Hey just for fun and not in any way serious can anons make a full list of people so that when someone has to use the death note they can just save offline and write the names of people from that list instead of being terminally online and getting caught

Given the lore, I think pic related would have a good chance

implying it is possible to solve the kira case without intuiting the mechanics of the death note

this is retarded

Trace from Axiom Verge

I think he could probably solve the case, although i have no idea how his bullshit patternmind powers would interact with shinigami or the death note, like he might just end up finding himself in Ryuk's world after a failed experiment which would make solving the case pretty easy.

ready or not judge

this nigga cant even arrest 3 schizos living in the woods

How the fuck would woo even solve the kira case? This is retarded.

I doubt building stuff will be of much help.

Tears of the Kingdom

Link

Well Link’s last name is simply never stated anywhere, probably lost records during the Calamity, so he’s immune.
As for STOPPING Light? I think the best bet would be traveling around Japan looking for mcguffins that give him memory fragments that would begin to show evidence of Light. Since the memory cutscenes are saved on the Purah Pad this evidence COULD be admissible in a court of law, provided they could prove that it isn’t doctored somehow (likely by simply having people investigate their sources)
He also would never speak, so I think Light would have a harder time manipulating him.
I don’t think it’s GUARANTEED that Link could do it, it could very easily be argued that magic ipads aren’t evidence of shit, and someone could just kill him, he’s not invincible, but he’s got a truly good heart. Maybe that’s enough.

What about this guy?

Shinichi my beloved

Stabler would support what Kira is doing.

Stabler is chronically Catholic and would hunt Kira down for his blasphemy

bullshit

Olivia: he's killed a million people

Stabler: scumbags murderers and rapists, sure are you really gonna say the world isn't better off in the post Kira era Liv? Remember that sicko gymanstics coach we arrested last year? piece of shit molests 5 little girls, and walks because of some bullshit "illegal search" we did, guess who just had a heart attack.

Stabler finds Light

"Just stop calling yourself God and we're all good" YOU SICK FUCK

This game fucking sucks and it’s so sad because it’s got some great design ideas.

Takumi Sumino
Entirely depends if he has his hemoanima or not, and if it's powerful to travel back in time significantly. If both aren't true, then no because he's a retard.

According to Morrowind, Nords are easily tricked by witches, but Kira is a man so it should be easy for a proud son of Skyrim!

Simply time travel and save Raye Penber, instant win

OP here. Your character can't benefit from the canonical actions of L/M/N, and therefore from Raye Penber (who worked for L).

then everyone's fucked because nobody other than L would've narrowed it down to Kanto like that.

I'm currently playing the visual novel. He's pretty smart at times I guess so who knows if he doesn't pussy out?

It'd be fun to imagine him going through hell in a D-mail time travel loop trying to figure out how to stop Kira, but i have no idea who around him would die that would kick the whole thing off, unless Daru got put on some FBI watch list that Light got access to or something.

I don't think there would be much traditional deduction here. Maybe the voices pushing towards randomly buying a plane ticket to Japan and then using auspex to see Ryuk? If we bring all the lore into this so the vampire powers aren't limited by the video game format, I'm sure there's lots of other tricks that would work as well.

No one had to die. I'm sure Okabe would do it out of his own volition once Kira started acting.
I don't think he can do it with the text messages. It's useless.

As for the contraption that sends him 48 hours back in the past, I also don't think it would be useful.

Easy, has Emma use cerebro to scan all of Japan to look for him. Goes to his house and collapses it on top of him. Or pulls every single bit of iron out of his body and watches the twinky fucksatain asphyxiate. And before you move the goalposts and say some shit about his faggy book, Emma would have seen that in his mind and warned him, plus Magneto has had so many names over the years I don't think even he remembers what his real one is.

king magnus.jpg - 1280x720, 152.39K

No, also: Kira was a dumb teenager, he could've established himself as a God if he had gone after government leaders everytime one was announced and anyone running for presidency or whatever would also be wiped out.

There can only be one on the throne moment.

There's no way Vincent ever catches him, but there's a good chance late series Light might qualify for the Nightmares. He's stringing Misa along though her prime breeding years with no intention of ever putting a baby in her. He's too narcissistic and lacks the self-reflection to truly overcome the nightmares, and so would get killed eventually.

Do reflect work on the death note's death?

aqua rake.jpg - 480x360, 30.4K

Its through d-wave messages using the messages to send himself to the past to change the timeline so he could say: Kira is X and they would get it investigated and over with. Which would lead to Kira's capture. Very useful way to utilize the D-Wave messages.

No, its a mind control thing forced by a god. I don't think shinigami are physically able to die either other than through certain methods which would be spoilers very deep into the manga so there's that.

Columbo will win btw

NAKED GUN frank Drebin

He would be writing down stuff in it like names of people he would need to remember or his grocery list

picrel should be in bottom left by definition

I know Battler couldn't but Bernkastel could. (With detective's authority as Erika Furudo.

How couldn't he intuit the mechanics? Its very simple, the enemy has a way to kill someone without being in their presence and they are able to dictate their last moments before death. (Deduced from the victims leaving notes.) That's all they need to know its likely some kind of magical tool or power working to get the job done. There is no human way to do such a thing multiple times.

Baldur's Gape 3

Great Old One Warlock/Thief with Half-Illithid bullshit

Well let's pretend the whole "Does not speak English OR Japanese, (Speaking with people can be done via telepathy but being unable to read is a big detriment), does not know how modern technology and politics works, looks like a fucking freak even without the whole "is a Tiefling" thing due to brain worms, (that at least can be handwaved with disguise self)
Unless you handwave and allow him to somehow determine Japan is where he needs to be looking, (let's assume he pops up there), and gets some bullshit guidance via the Deus Ex Machina that is "A psychic connection with a fucking Great Old One" to get pointed in a general direction, the simple fact that he has Detect Thoughts at will and has the RPG main character trait that is "will autistically use it on every single person he meets until he gets a clue" means it may eventually be possible to blunder into Light by dumb luck, or Detect Thoughts someone that leads him to L and is sent in the right direction.

he's dumb. that's why the movies are funny.

How would he know who is Kira though retard

Malekith, Witch King of Naggarond

8,000 years old, so plenty of worldly experience

live in a world full of esoteric magic so he could intuit the mechanics of the DN very quickly

has endless army of goons to help him search

extensive spy network because he has to root out potential traitors

Malekith would just win the long game by infiltrating all corners of Jap societies with big tiddy goth gf until Light slips up

Malekith_3.png - 600x830, 661.46K

Dexter could solve the kira case.

Druid vinefucker plant dude in Path of Achra

Literally just stands there until Kira dies, somehow.

I met the producer of death note and confounder of madhouse at a con recently
he signed my death note tapestry

too easy

file.jpg - 513x525, 59.66K

I rewatched Death Note semi-recently and the fucking leaps of logic L makes for supernatural shit is insane.

The Linds L Taylor thing was great, but i'm sure there are parts after that that you're totally right about.

How would Courage the Cowardly Dog NOT be able to apprehend Light/Kira?

has no name

doesn't die when he is killed

already aware of the existence of magic

has no hangups about killing people

His deductive reasoning isn't the best. But he's got enough room for error that I think he'd do alright.

74452277_p5.png - 1327x1996, 3.67M

patapon

Well it's basically a god/you so maybe they could figure it out but the only way they can interact with the world is with drum beats so i wouldn't be able to tell anyone.they could maybe use drum Morse code or just ponponpatapon until there minions kill Kira but that requires some patapon followers and for light to stay in there direct 2d path

Greater Flanders circa 1500?
Perhaps.....

It's called plot armor.

Not the last game i played but i think it'd be a cool match. Alex Roivas going through history learning about all the times a death note has been dropped in the human world, then figuring out from people who died looking into it who was using it.

Pious.jpg - 200x171, 9.43K

He doesn't have a chance on his own, but with some supa hacka skills and Christina's actual intelligence they might be able to solve it.
This nigga though? He'd get OBSESSED with trying to solve it and get absolutely nowhere.

takuru.png - 720x900, 331.09K

sees Nordberg on a milk carton as a missing person

thinks to himself "Yes I should remember to buy more milk later" and writes down "Nordberg Milk" in that notebook he just found on the ground

sudden cry from Nordberg, in hiding, now having a heart attack

they get subtitles

Josef Stalin

nobody knows your true name, identity or if you even actually existed at all

can task the NKVD (ministry of internal security)

in record time over 1000 L's have been liquidated.
