only if you use them for gaming

Anon Babble has been simping for AMD since the 5090 was announced in January, what are you talking about?

The opposite is true.

AMD's GPU reputation has been improving since the release of RDNA 2 back in 2020. RDNA 2 was better than Ampere, and as far as I can tell RDNA 3 cards are seen positively as well. They weren't reviewed that well, because of the price, but they are very good performance and stability wise. The drivers for the 5700 XT were terrible I believe, but significantly improved since the 6000 series. I also haven't heard any major complaints with RDNA 4. With Nvidia on the other hand.... it's not looking too good for them.

They are the best bang for your buck if all you want to do is rasterization.

They're shit for 3D modeling, AI, jewvidia ray tracing etc....

They used to be REALLY shit for games because their drivers were so bad, you'd run into glitches in shit like RAGE and other games if you were on AMD. That Stigma stuck a bit but its starting to finally wear off

nvidia shills are unironically real

only a few Nvidia shills screaming about drivers and fake frames even though Nvidia has yet to fix their drivers for months
latest AMD cards have been great especially if can get around MSRP
only reason to go Nvidia is if you really need Cuda

I've used both nvidia and amd. The only time in my life I got serious problems was when my 980ti by shitbyte fried itself a month after warranty end. Fuck shitbyte.

The last news of shitty drivers I saw was Nvidia cards shitting the bed in the new Doom game even though it was supposed to be developed for Nvidia cards. I think they fixed it already, but it is kind of funny.

Imagine believing those fans do anything

PC faggots deserve this

They're shit for 3D modeling, AI, jewvidia ray tracing etc

True and it is a damn shame. I really hope they improve on the professional market someday.

It's a mix of fanboyism, bad customer service and support and bad launches. Since Nvidia barely cares about Gamer GPUs anymore AMD is getting some good press and good faith with consumers with their last generation of cards that is actually delivering great performance per dollars.

If AMD can get compatibility or performance on AI in the ballpark of Nvidia, they'll take the market.

Sadly, that doesn't seem to be what they want to do.

I had a R9 390 that would howl everytime I watched a video in VLC or Youtube. Streaming sites were also a no-go and recording wasn't an option either. Literally everything I did on this card caused it to get hot. The software also sucked massive dick. I had to reinstall it every couple of months because it would just stop booting. But idk how good AMD is now. I can understand a lot of folks not wanting to spend half a grand on a card that could have all the same issues old AMD had despite what they hear online.

If they truly only take 350.- for the next 9060 with 16GB, I'm going to get it. Haven't had a new card in five years or so.

I have no idea what mumbo jumbo you're even talking about but I've been using Nvidia my whole life and won't change to AMD just because some nerds on the internet claim it's better

I love this nigger cat. He is just like me fr

I'm happy with my 9070XT. I game, use chat bots and gen AI slop without any problems. The only thing I haven't gotten to work yet is genning AI video.

system.png - 1248x649, 62.83K

nah they're good
I had a 9070 for a month before switching to 5080
had zero issues

16gb for 350 sounds great. No way I'm gonna find an actual offer for this price though.

they're good that's why I switched to Nvidia

lmao every time, plebbit is the same way. They want everyone else to buy and use AMD so they can get Nvidia for cheaper, they just won't do it themselves.

NTA, but the reason why I'm superior to you as a human being and an intellectual is because I have no emotional attachment to billion dollar corporations like AMD or Nvidia. I can switch between them effortlessly depending on who delivers the best product for my particular use case. I have an AMD 6900 XT right now, which I bought instead of the 3080, it turns out that was a fantastic decision. Before that I had the GTX 970. My next GPU could be an AMD or an Nvidia GPU, it all depends on who delivers the best product in 2 years. I don't ever get fucked in my ass, because of that like those fucking retards who bought the 8 GB 3070 4 years ago. kek

What about upscaling? Isn't Nvidia's upscaling better?

Too many Nvidia shills, RDNA3 and 4 are fine as fuck.

driver timeouts

less people own amd = more problems with games

worse switch emulation

nvidia is way more stable

since we're talking about gpus if i was going to buy a 5070 ti what would be best between an msi shadow or an asus prime or is there any real difference at all?

I've had 0 issues with my 9070XT
Glad I got it

nigga I had one temporarily because of monster hunter wilds and 5080 being out of stock everywhere
it was just a temp card
Isn't fsr4 almost just as good? if you're playing games with fsr3 then sure, because fsr3 sucks

Shadow is just a ventus underneath and ventus is the worst card out there. Terrible temps and noisy as hell
Get the Prime

I can't gen AI furry slop on it in between my gaming sessions, it is essential for me

Nvidia's been shitting the bed recently but what you say is otherwise true. You will run into crashes and other issues you won't get on Nvidia.

If only everybody had as much common sense as you, but sadly that's not the case as proven time and time again by all these nonsensical platform wars, be it consoles, GPUs or CPUs. Brand loyalty is for retards.

You can using koboldcpp

You will run into crashes and other issues you won't get on Nvidia.

This nigga been living under a rock apparently.

They're shit for 3D modeling, AI, jewvidia ray tracing etc....

The reason why i dont have any other choice but to buy Nvidia GPU

If you hate taa you will never buy amd do not trust techtubers glazing fsr 4. Remember when dlss 2 came out they said it was perfect but now it's actually shit with dlss 4

Dlss transformer is worth the money, no blur , minimal ghosting

it seems way too niche for me, i like just booting comfy or forge to play around with newest plugins / workflows and so on with zero hassle of troubleshooting

tfw have owned plenty of AMD and Nvidia cards with zero issues

No clue what faggots are doing in 2025 for their GPUs to crash

z.jpg - 2305x812, 697.72K

Why do graphic cards have to be so stupidly BIG.

It's all lies unironically, most GPUs work just fine. People just lie to push their agenda or whatever.

Duh, the nine fans which might one day lower the temp five degree by using ten degree more power!

thanks, will look into it, but nvidia really need to shit the bed with 60xx series for me to consider amd seriously

nvidia really need to shit the bed with 60xx series

Happening already and AMD will not offer anything better; only a match

Modern mid range GPUs draw 200-300 Watts so they need 2-3 fans. What's actually stupid are those cases with 10 fans in them. One big fan as intake and one as exhaust is fine for a mid-range system.

nvidia sells on gimmicks (physx, raytracting, AI slop), amd sells on rasterization
AMD was 90% as good as ampere for 50% the price, but on the high end it wasn't as good. nvidia's silicon quality went down to AMD levels with ampere, but they weren't starting houses on fire yet, and raytracing etc. shit was still just a meme. Definitely got lucky buying a 6900xt for MSRP.
Recent couple generations have been a disaster for both sides (nvidia burning houses down, adding new gimmicks like AI-smearingTM, and AMD shitting the bed with performance).

nvidia sells on gimmicks (physx, raytracting, AI slop), amd sells on rasterization

And that's the issue. Nvidia essentially dictates the market and by that what people "need", which is the reason why AMD always just plays catch-u, no matter how good they are. The normalization of upscaling crutches simply did way too much damage at this point because people either shit on AMD for not having DLSS or shit on it because the alternative (which in a way AMD is forced to provide) is not good enough.

if youbuse fake frames you're a retard

8GB GPU. $400. Barely plays moderjn era games at 1080p High. The new normal for PCMR since 2020. AMD GPUs take a huge performance hit with Raytrace on.

I'd say the exact opposite is true, people don't have much to say about AMD either good or bad and Nvidia gets shit on all the time. Deservedly so.

I read that Shadow is just Ventus but black instead of white, and that the fan are loud.

Anon Babble is just full of Nvbots.

AMD gpu

Intel cpu

zero problems for two years coming on 3 despite Anon Babble constantly telling me both are gonna have constant issues or completely shit themselves one day

Either I’m insanely lucky or hysterics over PC hardware constantly get blown out of proportion here.

Either I’m insanely lucky or hysterics over PC hardware constantly get blown out of proportion here.

Take a wild guess on that one.

Isn't fsr4 almost just as good?

DLSS 4 is slightly better

also amd cards are incredibly inefficient. they consume absurd amounts of power. even in idle an amd card draws double the amount of watts than an nvidia card.

i think i will buy an 8gb card just to piss those "tech" youtubers off. especially hardware unboxed.

They spent 5 billion aquiring an ai firm so it's not like they aren't trying. The problem is that CUDA is the standard for productivity so AMD can't really penetrate the market right now

Historically shit drivers but nvidia dropped the ball hard on the 5x series. Absolute dogshit.

even in idle an amd card draws double the amount of watts than an nvidia card

Idle consumption is perfectly in line with the rest, stop making shit up.

Why do AMD GPUs get so much hate?

Few years back I wanted to upgrade after an extremely long period of not playing videogames. Asked what's the best bang for buck? How important is gaytracing? Upscaling? Frame generation? Etc. I was basically told "just get AMD they're cheaper, gaytracing is a meme and will die out, upscalers are all ass and raw native is all that matters but FSR is just as good as DLSS anyway."

I listened, got a 1440p180hz monitor and went for an RX6700XT, intending to use FSR to drive higher framerates. Turns out I hate it, constant visual issues, I'd really rather just lower the display resolution to 1080p. And I constantly felt like I was making compromises along the way.

Got my hands on a friend's RTX4070 by chance, tried it. Turns out upscalers weren't all ass, it was just FSR. DLSS delivered what I actually wanted from FSR. Turns out gaytracing won't die out and can be used at playable framerates, just not with AMD cards. Turns out framegen has its use cases too. Worst part was when I tried to talk about this, I'd just get accused of spreading FUD or being a shill. So I gave my 6700XT to my younger brother, got myself an RTX4080 and never looked back, it just werks.

So I don't really hate AMD GPUs. I just hate the people who lied about AMD downsides to me because they were too busy peddling an agenda for le underdog to tell me the truth.

Ultimately gaming is a luxury hobby, and for luxury hobbies you're better off buying the upper shelf product that gives you features and longevity. Buying something for "VALUE" is nice at first because your wallet isn't hit as hard, but it's later down the road that you regret going for the underdog option once you realize you're in for years of compromises you'd rather avoid. If I was looking for a GPU now I'd actually get the AMD RX9070XT because it's got the features and longevity, but a lot of AMD cards from before came with a lot of compromises and I got burned by them.

fsr lol.png - 1291x835, 1.57M

More power efficient than Nvidia now, shill.

7900 GRE/XT/XTX had a lot of driver instability issues in certain games although it went away if you were on linux paradoxically

Linux AMD drivers are basically the only graphics drivers in existence that actually just work and don't shit themselves every other week.

I just hate the people who lied about AMD downsides to me because they were too busy peddling an agenda for le underdog to tell me the truth.

you'll see this happening daily on this board and Anon Babble when discussing hardware. just people blatantly lying to try and win some imaginary football math between multibillionaire companies

Used to have incredibly bad drivers. People who experienced that era don't want to take a chance.
The recent cards are fine for gaming. Any kind of productivity and they still suck.

To be fair, Intel's iGPU Linux drivers are great too.

Play through Expedition 33 with no crashes

Hear from literally everyone I know with an Nvidia card that the game crashes every few hours

So much for Nvidia having better drivers than AMD
I guess it's not worth it for them to have as many people on the driver team now that they need those programmers for the AI teams

Its weird how barely anyone talks about the absolute state of nvidia drivers. Shit was never this bad, i still have stuff like black screen flickering and videos corrupting on start. This was my first nvidia card and I feel like I got memes. Before that I had 580 for 8 years and never had any driver issues

Its weird how barely anyone talks about the absolute state of nvidia drivers

have you been living under a rock these past two months?

I see amd driver bad way more than people shitting nvidia drivers

Love me RX 6800 XT

must be a really comfy rock

Apparently a lot of Nvidia engineers just quit and retired early once their stocks were worth millions of dollars.

Yeah I would too lmao

Have the exact gpu showcased in OP, it’s fucking great

They could lose all their gaming revenue and the growth from AI and data centers would more than make up for it in just one quarter. So of course they aren't spending much time or money on drivers for gaming GPUs.

It's all from people who use productivity programs that run better on CUDA, and people who own xx60 cards and rely on DLSS.

And AI. Or anything really.

you just get used to it

i've been using nvidia for around 17 years exclusively and the black screens, flickering, static, crashing etc just becomes background noise

it's the price we pay to use the best hardware

klick at dual-monitor

??? your own chart proves you wrong dude:

rtx 4060

110 watts

corresponding amd card rx7600

155 Watts

and its been like that since the vega cards. pascal completely shat on vega in terms of fps per watt.

raw power, they might be fine. The problem is that their DLSS competitor is always behind the times and their drivers don't have the wide support so you run into small problems that no one ever fixes because of the much smaller install base.

Nobody should be buying either a 4060 or a 7600.
RDNA4 has now bested Blackwell in power efficiency.

I've been using AMD cards in my own rig for over a decade now. They're fine if you wait out the early adopter driver issues, like any new generation of parts.
What I hate is that they've failed to really capitalize on every single time NVidia's dropped the ball recently.
Insane pricing? AMD goes $100 lower, not enough to overcome the mindshare deficit and the AI value-adds.
No availability? AMD promises lots of inventory, then proceeds to only ship any to Microcenter and the rest of the world can get fucked.

Are they really that bad?

yes

Why do AMD GPUs get so much hate?

Because nvidiots lie about it for decades while Nvidia themselves paid shills to shit on it. They have a history of paying off reviewers. In fact, a shitload of reviewers for fed up with this recently and called them out including linux, hardware unboxing and tech jesus.

After 9 years im upgrading my gpu from my old 1050ti.

Im a poorfag in a third world country, so im looking forward to buying a rx 7600 since I they're kinda cheap right now and I dont think ill be going beyond 1080p so I guess that with 8gb Im covered.

Can you stretch your budget a little to get a 7600XT at least?

I guess that with 8gb Im covered.

No. 8gb is outdated. Make sure you get 16gb.

7600XT

more power draw and 16gigs that you cant use because the card is too slow for 1440p. this card is a fools trap.

You Nvidia shills are annoying

Ideally I would get one, but only if I can find a good sale. The 7600xt I've seen on retail so far are double the price of the 7600 (I guess they're trying to get those out of stock asap)

16gb for 1080p? Isnt that overkill?

They are shit for AI gen so pajeets naturally hate on them.

Nvidia is a cult

I own both.
A 3070 and a 7900xt.
I honestly don't get it either...both are perfectly fine. So the brand loyalty makes no sense to me.

save money for rx 9070 so you can at least enjoy FSR 4, this way you will be more future proof or wait for the cheaper RX 9060.
AMD's fsr 3 is basically unusable

i personally would wait for the rx9060 and buy the 8gig variant if the price is right. in the current console cycle 8gigs of vram are enough for 1080p. once the ps6 drops obviously you will need more but that will be in 3 years or so. by the time you just buy the next graphics card.

Because this board is filled with Nvidia shills who love telling people DLSS and framegen improves games

Nice never heard a real answer for this

have owned several green cards

they all just worked

owned one red card

never worked right

thats my experience. my amd processor is great though.

Only thing that's gonna piss itself is your frames when that cap hits.
gtx 970 is back baby

Nvidia psyop. If you have been keeping up with the latest news you'd know that Nvidia has been wielding frame extrapolation and real time raytracing as a weapon. These things only matter if you're spending close to a thousand on a GPU which the vast majority doesn't.

cutting off your nose to spite your face
enjoy being locked to 1080p on low textures for the next 3+ years of your life

they're only acceptable if your skin is brown

4k is a television marketing meme, anon
your res should be equal to your screen size

projection

My 9070 xt performs only marginally better than my 3080 Ti. Linux user, though, so no idea on Windows drivers.

Upgraded 2 summers ago from a 970, built an entirely new AM5 PC, 6750. Good timing then as of right now the market sucks cus of AI.

Nvidia basically has nothing but contempt for their gaming customers and partner companies at this point (You know the people who actually carried the company for the last 20+ years) which makes it hard for me to recommend. EVGA literally stopped making GPU's because the suck so hard. If you use edit in Adobe, Lightroom, Blender, local AI gen, ect and/or other productivity stuff, Nvidia is overall the better option unfortunately.

AMD has been the far better value. It did gave me a lot of grief at first, but I think it was unusual and generally AMD is a great option. Nvidia is releasing their 50 series and getting nothing but hate while AMD is on their 90 series.

I would try and get 12gb card minimum.

t. retard

a 1080p 27 inch screen has dogshit pixel density compared to 1440p, there's a substantial improvement in visual sharpness and text clarity going from from 1080p to 1440p which isn't hard to achieve these days

1080p on low textures

What's he going to miss out on? Some shitty AAAs? Pffft

a substantial improvement

"substantial" huh
It's not that big of a deal.

i was about to argue but you sent me down a bit of a rabbit hole. somethin's gone completely batshit with these numbers and don't trust it for a second.

file.png - 1336x1646, 278.68K

low textures

high textures. what you cant do is very high textures or ultra bullshit or 300% drawing distance.

yeah just like going from 60hz to 144hz isn't a big deal

Is that userbenchmark?

Why do AMD GPUs get so much hate? Are they really that bad?

Brand zealots. No.

i don't think passmark has useful numbers for GPUs at all, i'd only use it for comparing hardware specs rather than their actual benchmarks

4k is a television marketing meme, anon

4k is more viable than ever considering how good DLSS4 and FSR4 are now. Of course if you're stuck on a GTX or an RDNA2/3 (lol we told you) card then that's a no go for you, but then again if you're on those cards you're probably not gonna upgrade your monitor either.

My unigine superposition benchmarks were better than the best reported 3080 Ti results at 4k. I'm attributing lack of tangible difference to implementations of ray tracing / upscaling / shit game optimization.
That max power draw is accurate, though. I was surprised as well. Can't verify the DX numbers.

I've only ever used AMD GPUs
My first was the 7970 Ghz, second was 580 and third is the 6600
Never had a problem with them although I wish I went for something a bit higher end than the 6600

Actually, I'm dumb. Your image just made me realize I didn't think about my mobo before upgrading, so it's in a PCIe 4 slot.
