They cant do multiplat really, having to develop for PC also is just something they cant fucking do. All their games that push the medium graphically, performance wise, etc. historically throughout games have typically been console exclusives, they need that locked hardware otherwise their bug brains just melt down. They've never been like a rockstar where they can scale their games all up and down the graphics spectrum and do it on multiple platforms.

Don't forget that consoles come with a lot of hidden costs that pile up fast. The yearly Sony/Microsoft/Nintendo tax. The costs of games are insane on consoles. When something is $60/70/80 or whatever, you're not going to find it cheaper anywhere else. You're forced to pay that. On PC, you can easily find keyshops (yes, legitimate ones as well like GMG) that have the games on sale for 10-20 bucks less than consoles day 1. These costs might seem little, but they add up real fast. Of course you also have the option to pirate every now and then if you want to. I bet that after ~5 years, the costs of PC and console gaming even out. With PC gaming, you just pay a higher entry fee.

Right now these “next gen games” require at the minimum 40xx to take advantage of the software, especially DLLS which consoles heavily rely on.
So when the ps6 comes out, assuming Sony isn’t fucking retarded, it will be equipped at the minimum of a 4th series RTX. The cheapest new 4xxx are 600$ after tax. Let’s assume you’ll get a dinky restricted version that bring it down to 400$ now you need to pay for the dev support / RnD. If the ps5 pro costs 800$ and has hardware two generations old at the time of release, what do you really expect to pay for the ps6? Being conservative I’d say
