WHY CAN'T WE JUST HAVE THIS, WHY THE FUCK DO WE NOT HAVE THIS

WHY CAN'T WE JUST HAVE THIS, WHY THE FUCK DO WE NOT HAVE THIS

what good would copper do
the material progression is fine as-is

copper pickaxe

it turns back into an ingot when it breaks a block

Slightly better than iron but breaks a lot faster, like what gold is to diamond

Just give it the same properties as iron. For a game that's all about mining and crafting there's a distinct lack of it.

Do modern tech mods use base copper now instead of inserting their own copper?
I haven't played any version past 1.12 ever.

disagree, it takes like 45 seconds to get iron tools and then maybe 20 minutes to get at least a diamond pickaxe. if you play a world for even 10 hours you've spent 99% of that time with full diamond everything, there should be more steps. Copper should replace iron, tin should be available to smelt bronze, iron should be as rare as gold, and diamonds should be so exceedingly rare that finding one is a huge deal, and you should also need specialized equipment to process diamonds.

Bro just play terrafirmacraft.
Or that stand alone game thats basically just terrafirmacraft. Vagrant something

Can't do that. Minecraft is an educational game now.
Vintage Story

wood pickaxe exists to mine 3 stone blocks and then it's never used again

Minecraft is not supposed to be good

Maybe stop generating copper in places where iron would've been? There's too much bloat now, they should've made all this shit optional, I miss ps3 Minecraft but don't want to play on pc.

Copper pickaxes are actually really bad because they are so conductive. The ground has a lot of stored electricity because of all the lightning that hits the ground. If you aren't careful you could hit a bit of ground that is charged with 100 lightning bolts which will go up the copper pickaxe and fry you instantly. Used to happen a lot to amateur miners when mines still used human labor

this happened to my buddy dave

Copper tools would be fucking stupid. Copper should be able to be made into wire to allow for redstone contraptions with 0 or very low signal decay over distance

Shut up, Jens.

It's a stepping stone. That's how it always was. You need sharp rock to make sharper rock. You can't just suddenly jump to the sharpest rock

Wood pickaxe exists for the 3 blocks to make a stone pickaxe

Stone pickaxe exists to get an iron one

Iron Pickaxe exists to do 99% of the mining you'd ever do after slapping mending unbreaking and efficiency on it

Diamond pickaxe exists to mine obsidian for an enchant table and to get a netherite pickaxe

Netherite pickaxe exists

Gold pickaxe exists with it's niche of being the fast tool for mining anything but the 32 durability makes it completely impractical to ever actually use, even with mending

Progression basically exists up to iron and everything else is basically redundant

Copper is a work hardening metal. The more you hit it or hit stuff with it the more brittle it becomes

diamonds should be so exceedingly rare that finding one is a huge deal, and you should also need specialized equipment to process diamonds

We already have netherite, anon

It would be shit compared to everything except gold.

when i played most of that never existed. you made your diamond pickaxe like god intended. by the time it broke i was usually bored anyway

What good does copper do NOW?
I don't care if it has to functionally be a clone of iron - if it's going to take up 90% of the ore veins I run into, give it a purpose outside of building blocks.

CHADly.jpg - 247x204, 12.29K

Make the copper tools be similar to iron but their properties change as they oxidize.

making gold a literal joke tier is proof notch is a hack who cant into game design

b-but gold is soft irl

ok, a set of armor made of pure diamond would be pathetically weak. obsidian is notoriously fragile which is why europeans mowed through america with ease

Noooo you don't understand they had to spend all that time making this super cool mob.
"What does it do?"
............uhhhhhhhhhhh

"When you played"
A diamond pickaxe was totally irrelevant if you wanted to actually build jack shit, and was completely unnecessary to build a nether portal

Copper tools would not generate sparks as to not ignite the methane build ups in the mine shafts.

file.png - 994x276, 319.94K

be sandbox game

get diamond gear and enchants

kill ender dragon and wither

you have now beaten basically 95% of the pve content

The most wasted potential out of any game ever

you think my undeveloped brain could hold that kind of knowledge. you think too much of me. are you gay perchance?

diamonds should be so exceedingly rare that finding one is a huge deal

Diamonds aren't that rare even in real life, big diamond just keeps prices high to make you think they're rare.

if gold had higher durability (or better yet, if d*rability didnt exist in its current form at all) the increased mining speed of gold with the tradeoff of not being able to harvest all blocks would make gold worth using

What mods extend the game but aren't too out of place?

They should just add tin, a double smelter and then alloys like bronze, steel etc

I always install the mod for copper tools and armor because there's so much copper, and it's such a useless fucking resource otherwise.

Basically nothing since the actual game is too bare bones to build off of.
It's the inverse problem Terraria has.

I haven't found any I actually like. I've tried like a dozen 'vanilla' modpacks and they just make the process of getting diamond more autistic and tedious, rather than adding actual fun content / progression

brass and bronze are both more durable and don't cause sparks, and aluminum is both lighter and doesn't spark, though it's much rarer.

Oh shit, you can make copper doors now?

file.png - 300x464, 15.33K

Gold being worse but having more enchantability could have worked if they ramped up the level limits for enchants way up (and never added mending but that's another discussion entirely) but really they really should have just kept the gold block recipe for notch apples.

archaeology

spyglass

lightning rod

ugly doors/trapdoors

Things NO ONE uses btw

POINTly.jpg - 300x168, 10.38K

they gave copper a bunch of new blocks after everyone complained about it being useless and trash (it still is)
making it more similar to iron with its own door but not giving it a toolset is even more retarded

It's a stepping stone.

To what? Iron? The thing even children have no problem getting 10 minutes into the game?

it's easy and doesn't impact the game at all

well you didn't need to concede that easily but thanks

It really disillusioned me when the "endgame" content is just grinding for a metric fuckton of materials to create auto farms to... generate more materials.

it's pretty annoying that this is the endgame for a lot of modpacks too
shoutouts to every modpack that makes the final boss the chaos guardian AGAIN and the twilight forest mod for STILL not having an actual final boss after literally 10 years of the unfinished final castle being in

I love Minecraft updates

adds mildly useful to completely useless items, purposefully makes them way worse than they should be, then makes them annoying to obtain

adds a new mob that only exist to obtain an item, items that are useless or could've been added in better ways, in ways that doesn't involve killing those mobs because killing is bad; and that's only if they have a purpose and aren't actually completely useless.

makes the worldgen even worse, again, because fuck you

nothing that actually adds to the survival part of what used to be a survival game

nothing fun

nothing cool

nothing useful

still no vertical slabs

You didn't even fucking attempt to refute my point

Unironically didn't even know netherite existed until last month

why would i refute it if i agree with it

i played minecraft for the first time in 15 years a couple weeks ago and this pissed me off so much. why the fuck would you add copper and not let us make bronze

You just described life

I get only using copper to make lightning rods, but why can't you use any metal to create a brush and spy glass with? Why does it have to be copper? Like let's add a new type of metal and have it not be interchangeable with other types of metals where the actual metal used really shouldn't matter.

Rework the Progression

Wood tools are removed or reduced to a meme item

Collect scraps of stones to make stone tools

Stone tools are Shit, but can mine stone slowly

cannot mine any ores besides coal

Change the Furnace Recipe to require more Difficult to find Materials

Copper Nuggets can be obtained through prospecting and finding small chunks of nuggets hidden in the dirt

Use said Nuggets to make an ingot using the furnace

Make yourself copper tools

Can mine Copper and Iron, but Iron requires a Smelter

Make a Smelter using some materials that copper tools can mine

Use Smelter to Process Iron ores into ingots

Make Iron tools

Diamonds are Incredibly Rare and are only found at the deepest parts of caves

Remove all Diamonds from loot tables outside the Nether or End

may seem autistic, but going for a more realistic progression would make all tool tiers have their niche

Create a mod then

Wires so you can do redstone lines in the air

Just play Vintage Story Anon.

If you want realistic Minecraft you can play Vintage Story.

They haven't added any new good mob since the phantoms and even that is controversial

you can fuse anything in TOTK.
just say'in

even more needlessly bloated

good mob since the phantoms

Wasted potential: The mob

That's a sausage on a stick

ok guys get this, the mob is invincible and only moves when you arent staring at him like those scary games

but lets make him do chipdamange so hes not even a threat

who greenlighted this

What's it do?

inb4 nothing

Why would you ever want to go to a pale forest?

copper tools would be pointless, its not like its that hard to find iron, what they should instead be given a use for is shit like upgrading redstone dust wires into copper ones that allow you place them up walls or on ceilings, and can be put inside blocks allowing for much more compact and complex redstone builds

I’ve been playing minecraft beta 1.7.3. I thought it was just a meme, but it’s actually better. No choice paralysis, no useless materials. It’s just a sandbox building game and it’s so fun. I’ve spent the last couple days walking in a big area of land and making a big tree farm encased in glass. I never do big projects on new minecraft, I always spend the time setting up auto farms and never really getting to big builds. There’s also this nagging feeling that I’m *supposed* to be doing something (full netherite, clearing an ocean monument, getting some obscure thing to do another task easier) and I never get around to actually doing something. Beta Minecraft has taught me simplicity breeds creativity

There’s also this nagging feeling that I’m *supposed* to be doing something

skill issue, I just hang out with friends in a server building random shit and never bother getting netherite or beating the dragon

They're sick, fight me

I'm genuinely surprised steel smelting isn't a thing yet

No choice paralysis, no useless materials.

this sums up perfectly how I feel about modern minecraft

It's like the Warden, it kills you if you don't play around it correctly. That's it.

american "humor"

But they only do as much damage as a Zombie in opposition to the Warden who kills you almost instantly

it kills you if

It basically can't

Literally just play vintage story

but you guys you're being unfair, you can do so many cool valuable things with copper, such as........................

It still kills you, it just takes a lot of hits.

CHADMERICANSCHADMERICANS

RENT free

Neither of you play minecraft. There's nothing fun about building with 3 kinds of blocks and nothing functional to build

the only good thing copper did was unify all the mods that had their own version of it to use the same item instead of having 3 different copper versions that cant be used interchangeably

Why the fuck do wood tools (other than the annoying Wood Pickaxe step) exist, when 99.99% of the time you can IMMEDIATELY get stone tools because stone is everywhere, immediately below the tree you just mined?

Why can't I use Diorite and Andesite as alternate stone tools? Maybe I want a different color for my Stone Pickaxe, is that a DIFFICULT thing to add for fuck's sake? This whole shitty system needs an overhaul

Bro just play autistic story.
No one likes this stupid unga bunga shit.

Andesite

I meant Granite. Can you blame me, they were a terrible addition

What's with Mojang making a bunch of new mobs not drop shit on death?

crafting exists at all in a game

file.jpg - 1194x710, 52.04K

Pls understan
Mojang is just a lil guy
barly no mony
progam very hard
many version of gam so vey hard take tim to ad thng
pls vote for featur that mod added ten year ago
no we cant add all featur from vote, too hard

pls pls understan

Americans don't find Jimmy Fallon funny, either.

can't encourage easily swayed babies that killing is good!!!

pls understan
gam for children
cant make children kill
nono old thing okay to kill
new thing not okay to kill
parents mad if we make child kill mob
nono villag jew okay to torture. is fine. no kill.

can't have frogs eat fireflies, they're dangerous to frogs!

have them eat magma cubes instead

Gets stuck by a thunderstorm.

Are there ANY modpacks where you have to survive a siege of mobs that are any good at all?
I've always thought that was the perfect evolution of the game, but I've never found a modpack that does this well.

NOOOOO YOU CAN'T KILL THE ARMADILLO THAT'S NOT VERY WHOLESOME IS IT????

YOU HAVE TO GIVE HIM BRUSHIE BRUSHIE ON HIS TUSHIE WUSHIE

Just play pixark retard

Killing is bad!!!1!

anon... both of those are 90% copper

WHY THE FUCK ARE TURTLE SCUTES AND ARMADILLO SCUTES DIFFERENT MOTHERFUCKING ITEMS

but really they really should have just kept the gold block recipe for notch apples.

wait that was actually a thing but they removed it????? i thought i was fucking crazy and imagined it

Don't you love going out of your way to get a material that makes 1 (0ne) item that has no reason to need it and could've used a material already in the game?

The children yearn for Minecraft's original concept of a fully fleshed out adventure game with loot and shit (they do not know Terraria exists)

It would likely take a large amount of work with the way the minecraft moders iterate over other mods it's likely the resultant spaghetti would scare off most from considering it.

Speaking of Minecraft, have there been any good mods to it lately? I played a bunch of modpacks like 10 years ago and haven't touched Minecraft since then

The whole point of creakings is to farm resin. It just doesn't drop directly from the mob, instead being generated near the associated creaking heart when the creaking is attacked. You would know this if you actually played minecraft instead of jerking off on forums all day pretending to be beta fags (none of you played before retail)

mob gives items when not killed

Killing is bad!!!1!

Playing any version after 1.12

ISHYGDDT

inb4 >any version past 1.7

I actually don't mind hunger

I glanced at this and thought it was meat. A meat pickaxe

*greenlit

imagine being so fat you look at pickaxe and see food

t.

Untitled.png - 864x1063, 603.29K

Even in 1.12 most modpacks just oredict onto one version of copper that works for most mods. There's always fucking one they miss, but thats not the point.
Figured that if you were making a tech mod for a later version you'd use the copper thats already in the game instead of messing with oredict anymore. Especially considering most of them will also be adding tin, brass, aluminum, and some rare macguffinium.

What does resin do besides blocks?

It's been shit ever since the friendly mob spawns changed and getting leather, without grinding out an obnoxious breeding farm that takes longer to create and reap the rewards from than it does to just skip the entire thing and go straight to iron, became more difficult.

just play the dogshit paid mod that makes everything more tedious for no reason at all

Why not make it free if the target audience is autistic NEETs with no income and no ability to ever actually do anything with their lives?

Learn to read, spic
There is no reason not to play current retail unless you have some overhaul you're in love with

You first, retard.

Not much. You can craft the blocks into stairs and walls and what not much like stone. It can also be used as an armor trim material if you like orange

no reason not to play current retail

90% of good mods are on older versions.
Most modpacks on versions past 1.12 are shitty kitchen sinks with barely any changes or interactions.
Chat monitoring was implemented in 1.18 and cannot be disabled, even if you aren't playing online.
No interesting features have been added since 1.12 besides arguably the new world limits and cave update, which can be backported.

Mojang has not left a version sit for long enough for a good modding scene to grow up around a version since 1.12. Playing vanilla is like actual torture at this point because basic fucking features like JEI and Inventory Tweaks have never been officially implemented. I don't know how anyone puts up with inventory clutter in vanilla.

711098810

Slightly better than iron but breaks a lot faster

That's Gold.
Also Copper would be worse than Iron unless they decided not to be realistic about it.
OP is a fag and this idea is retarded.
You have datapacks and mods to fulfill your retarded fantasies.

Most modpacks on versions past 1.12

Well like I said, if you've got an overhaul you're in love with, I get it.

Chat monitoring was implemented in 1.18 and cannot be disabled, even if you aren't playing online.

Untrue, at least on java. Trivial to disable.

No interesting features have been added since 1.12 besides arguably the new world limits and cave update, which can be backported.

The new nether, the deep dark, lots of redstone stuff, swimming and bubble columns, villager trading and piglin bartering, and I've probably forgotten a bunch of other shit. The only major thing that's been added that I just don't get the point of is trial chambers, but other players seem to like em so whatever

The new nether

Better nethers have been made multiple times

the deep dark

shit

lots of redstone stuff

made obsolete by multiple better mods

swimming and bubble columns

backported

villager trading and piglin bartering

villagers were a mistake in the first place. Also villagers trade in 1.12 already.

I just see nothing that would possibly entice me to move up in versions. I've played a bit in 1.16 and felt it was basically identical to 1.12. And I simply will never play vanilla until the minimum QoL features that every single modpack produced has are officially implemented.

Better nethers have been made multiple times

Not true, and I'm also comparing 1.12 to modern versions

shit

Nah, it's cool

made obsolete by multiple better mods

We're not talking about mods

Also villagers trade in 1.12 already.

Not in a useful way

Wrong. I’ve been playing since beta and just recently went back to it after getting sick of all the useless junk in the game

Post a build

I’ll post my tree farm when I get home

Where do people go for mods/modpacks now?
Is it still Curseforge or is that Modrinth site big enough to be a replacement now?

Jimmy Fallon is not humor

Minecraft is an educational game now

Make copper an ingredient for bronze, make bronze slightly worse than iron, but now iron-anything requires a difficult minigame to emulate how irl iron was harder to work with and if done incorrectly it would come out brittle, while bronze tools were super easy to smelt

nono not that educashonal
juss stuff that maks work more cant do becas teach child gam
see becas freg don eat fierflie in irl we no pput in gam
but
iron hard to make in irl? need xtra step? oh nono 2 hard to put in gam. so no do.
